Call your operator and they'll be able to tell you what you can do, they should have your IMEI on record if you bought it from them (they may have it anyway from your network access)

Unlocked T-Mobile G1 will it work in Europe?

I want to buy my cousin a G1 and send it to Sweden, will he be able to use DATA? Or will it just be the phone and sms?
Thanks in advance.

Yes since it's a quad-band GSM and dual band, WCDMA band I (Europe/Asia) & band IV (T-Mobile US).
You just have to be sure that the phone is unlocked and your cousin knows the local access point (APN) so he could enter it.

Yes you can add APN and delete existing APN on the phone.
I can confirm it works great on Telia in Sweden
activation?
How about activation? I saw lots of post claiming that you need to use a t-mobile SIM first to "activate" the phone to be able to get access the android os, settings etc?
Does it work with Android Market and all with Telia?
Nothing to worry about activation.
Just unlock , you will be able to use it without any problem.

Read the attached document.
It helps you activate your T-Mobile G1. Have added settings with PICS.

Nice advertisement. Of course you could just ask T-Mobile for the unlock code... which is free.
Activation problem
Hi i bought this phone on ebay and im having problems activating it
the phone is unlocked but when i stick the vodafone sim(Ireland) into the phone i cant
activate it .
I've tried using a t moblile sim card(USA) but there are no network coverage in Ireland .
I will try to use a T mobile sim card from the Uk but im really worried at this stage
Does anybody have any suggestions ?
what activation do you mean ? Does the phone ask you for google account userid and pass ?
exactly , but i cant log in to my google account because the vodafone apn settings wont work on my phone
you have to insert the settings from your provider. if you have vodafone and it doesnt work, try again I had to try 3-4 times to find exactly the correct settings (port, servers, a.o.). Im sure it will work with the correct settings (assuming that you have an google account).
I will try but i cant get the correct settings for this phone since vodafone doesnt support G1
Did u get it working on a diferent network ?
no problem if you dont have 3g ! I had only gprs / edge when I did activation and it worked here in Switzerland...
I have did it for Boxed Packed tmobile into airtel india.
You Definately Require Sim Unlocked code from
http://Unlock-TMobileG1.com the same site i got the Unlock code @ $23
They have also Provided me the Full Manual to add You Network APN Setting
MNC / MCC Code then used airtel SIm got that E icon on top with Signal Bar used Gmail A/c User name and password and did it.
No he doesnt need ! his problem is not the unlock code, his phone is unlocked as he wrote above !
He just has to find the correct settings for the APN !
AlrightThanks for helping
ill post back hereif i have success

Blocked HTC Touch Diamond

Hello there,
I thought I had lost my phone so I called my operater to block it. I found my phone later but now I can't use it will take it more easy with drinks
Is it possible to unblock it?
yes phone your network provider who will then process the unblock via your imei number through the networks but then i suspect if your phone really was legit you would have already done this.
Anyone unblocking a Mobile that has been barred by a Network Provider will be commiting a Crime under UK Law, unless it is un-barred or unblocked by the Network Provider that Blacklisted the IMEI number in the first place.
just call your network
job done

[Q] After CM9, can't use phone in another country?

Hi all --
Have had i9000 with o2 (Germany) for about 2 years. Used the phone in countries all over Europe with no problem.
Recently upgraded the phone to use CM9, and everything was fine here in Germany.
Went to Norway this week, but could not connect to any mobile network. All were rejecting me. Noticed that my IMEI was showing up as 004999010640000 -- figured that might have been the problem.
When returning to Germany, I checked my IMEI number, and it was displaying the correct number.
First off, how is that possible? I thought IMEI was what it was, and displaying the number (via *#06#) had nothing to do with the network I was/wasn't connected to.
Second -- what must I do so that I can once again use the phone when traveling outside of Germany?
Rather desperate -- thanks!!!
Really sorry to bump my own post, but I truly am desperate. I just cannot understand why I can no longer connect to a foreign network when I always could from this phone. I'm leaving for a business trip tomorrow and will be screwed if my phone doesn't work.
I'm running CM9 with baseband version I9000XXJVT, if that's any help. Do I need to flash another modem?
Is there nobody out there who can offer at least some advice and/or suggestion?

This is rather odd, as IMEI does not change based on location or network, it can be blocked by Networks , meaning O2 may not have agreements with other networks for it to connect when you are roaming to some or all other networks. BUT NO Network/modem can change your IMEI, only you can corrupt it by using a custom firmware read this
So what you have mentioned makes little sense and you need to contact your sim provider, as to why you cannot connect to other networks . (could be due to a sim lock)
Agreed -- it makes no sense whatsoever. Even stranger is the fact that though I could not connect to any network, I was able to get data -- check emails, etc. Phone calls were not possible, and there was an 'X' over the signal bars in the top bar. Can't explain that either...
Prior to CM9, I had no problem connecting in Norway (I was using stock Gingerbread.) Only this time was I denied access to any and all networks.
However, at the moment I am in Denmark, and I have managed to connect to one of their networks with no problem. Let's see if it works in Finland later....

most likely a roaming problem that your network provider needs to address
Sorry for interference , but after your description seems to be the know lost of IMEI after flashing a custom ROM.
If you have a backup of efs ...its simply to restore IMEI...just search the forum, there are a lot of posts about restoring IMEI...
If not have that backup, then install again GB 2.3.6....make a save efs folder...and then install again CM9, i recomend last CM 9 Stable.
Greetings.

Hi Nishliu.Edin
The problem may be that your mobile carrier (i.e AT&T or other) doesn't have the strong connection, you may have to contact your mobile carrier, and/or change carriers. The other problem may be that the area you having phone conversations doesn't provide enough power & connection which causes the loss in the mobile signal (i.e: an open area, countryside, away from the port)
Good luck

[Q] Any way tochange my Lumia 920 IMEI number?

Hi every one...
First.... my phone is not blacklisted...
I live in Venezuela, here we have 3 mobile carriers, my phone only recognize one carrier (just the one that I don't use) the other two recognize the sim card but no signal error, in just one opportunity one carrier says that this phone can not be used... I purchase this phone in Colombia unlocked it there and them brings it to Venezuela... So it's not blacklisted... I want to try changing the IMEI number and try... the carriers here don't has the phone in blacklisted neither...
Any advise...
Thanks you so much

when it isn't blacklisted then there also isn't any need to change the IMEI.
It is also illegal in many jurisdictions to do what you're asking (not sure about Venezuela, though).
Sounds most like the phone not supporting the wireless bands used by the other carriers. Many phones, especially low-end ones, only support the bands for the carrier they are built for; any other carrier if they work it's either luck or means you checked the cellular band compatibility list.
Another possible explanation is just that the phone doesn't have the APN for the other carriers, and therefore can't access their networks (though usually this would at least let you get calls/SMS). That can be fixed by looking up the correct APN and setting it manually in Settings->Cellular.
change imei no
