Hi Nishliu.Edin
The problem may be that your mobile carrier (i.e AT&T or other) doesn't have the strong connection, you may have to contact your mobile carrier, and/or change carriers. The other problem may be that the area you having phone conversations doesn't provide enough power & connection which causes the loss in the mobile signal (i.e: an open area, countryside, away from the port)
Good luck

Hello everyone,
Who knows how to prevent the "triangle roaming icon" from appearing in the systray? My provider (Telfort) got bought by another (KPN) so now all Telfort users "roam" on the KPN network. Is there a regedit I can apply?
I have tried:
1) editting [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting] "ONSDisplayRule"=dword:00000004
2) adding [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL] "DisableRoamingIndicator"=dword:00000001
Or is there some way that I can set my home network to 20408 (KPN) instead of 20412 (Telfort)? Or perhaps even add both as my home networks?
Or could changing my "StoredIMSI" help? It currently displays a Telfort number: 20412xxxxxxxxxx.
Thanks so much!
-Menno
PS I'm using Joshkoss's 6.5 (5.2.21929) on my Kaiser.
Not a ROM issue please post in the correct sub forum in future.
Thankyou.
Mods please move
Think it's in the Start, Settings,Personal, Phone area in one of those tabs you can turn off roaming..
And yea moved you over to general as this isn't rom development.

Thanks for your reply's guys.
I'm afraid I haven't made myself completely clear. I don't want to disable roaming. "Roaming" on KPN is the only way I have a connection as the Telfort network no longer exists. What I want to do is either:
1) trick my phone into thinking that KPN is my home network, or
2) disable the distinguishment that Windows Mobile makes between a home network and a roaming network
Any thoughts on how to do this would be much appreciated! Thanks!
I've got the same problem here and I haven't found a solution either. The problem is that Telfort is a virtual provider using the KPN network, so even your 'own' network is a roaming network, meaning you've got that annoying triangle all the time.
I've heard that getting a new sim settles this problem, but Telfort charges €20,- for this.
I have a quite rare problem. I'm in Ireland and use 3 operator. It does not have coverage on many places and it has some kind of contract with o2, so whenever the signal it lost, phone automatically switches to o2. Problem is when I'm back in place with full 3 coverage again, WP does not switch back. I have to select network manually several times a day. It's very annoying. Is there an option somewhere in settings to disable roaming completely? I found it only for data but I need it for calls. Phone is Lumia 920.
Thanks

I imagine specifying your network provider as "3 IRELAND" or whatever it's called will stop it from connecting to O2? The setting is under Mobile Network (under the roaming options, at the bottom) and is set to "automatic" by default.

First thing I tried, but it did not help. Maybe problem is that the other network has same name - probably to ensure seamless switch. (it's actually Vodafone, sorry for my mistake: http://www.vodafone.ie/aboutus/media/press/show/BAU002953.shtml )

I'm not saying I'll be able to help, but could you elaborate a little on why roaming comes into this? Are you changing countries between two places where the operator is called "Vodafone"?
Don't forget to help on my Bing Vision query

No I don't. It's actually a funny thing. I live in Dublin and yet you can find here many places without signal coverage. I think, but not exactly sure that 3 is the last operator who entered on a market here, so it does not have proper infrastructure and negotiated with Vodafone national roaming for places where native 3 signal is not available. In general it's not a big problem, you can make calls like in your home network, price is same, you can even see on your phone you are connected to 3 network but with a roaming. (because in fact you are connected to Vodafone)
I'm trying to disable roaming completely because mobile data on the roaming are just GPRS while in native 3, you got 3G.
It would not mind me if phone would automatically switch back on 3 when available. (when I had WP 7 it was doing like this) But now with WP8 the behavior seems to be changed and as soon as it enters the roaming it never reverts back to native network unless I manually select the 3network again.
Just making this thread for all the Wind Mobile users out there!
Feel free to post any questions or suggestions! :good:
I noticed that sometimes if I walk out of wind coverage (doesn't happen too often, but there are some blind spots in Vancouver), and then walk back in, my phone stays on "roaming" network for much longer than needed. In other words, the home wind network is already available, but unless I choose it manually (which takes forever!) it will stay on roaming network. Is there a way to completely disable this roaming, so the only network my N4 connects to is Wind?

Yeah go on mobile networks
Then network operators, (it'll search for a while)
Then press wind
If u do search automatically it will switch to roaming and wind home (if you're in a bad area)
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
can some on on wind network post the APN's for the network, i accidently reset it and now its blank o.0, and on wind network, does it cost addition data to use GPS? like location services (Google Now, Maps) or Navigations?
and does wind portal like facebook zero and stuff still active? cant find any info on that

I live in a week signal area and when it switches to roaming a quick toggle of airplane mode usually gets me back on winds network.

Hi guys,
I'm having some serious trouble with my phone not willing to connect to any mobile network at all it just simply says can't connect to this network right now. try again later and after 10 sec it goes into roaming mode :\ this only happens to me when i'm on a custom rom like MIUI, cyanogenmod, AOKP: all have these problems
maybe some important info:
carrier: telenet (in belgium running with a micro-sim)
phone type: C5303
working in stock rom with exact same APN settings!
I can make phone calls and send messages just fine
Someone who can shed some light on this occasion?
thanks,
noahvt

I don't know exactly but i do know that on miui on my old phone i saw that it said connected to Mobistar (appearently my carrier "telenet" and the carrier "mobistar are using the same exact network!)
EDIT: i found this on the internet Telenet Mobile is a MVNO that uses the network of Mobistar
so the hole roaming thing is normal then? won't it use more data or waste more money? i really just wanna have 3G or EDGE on the top like i used to have on stock lol it's a bit confusing having roaming at the top
A network using another ones network is called a virtual provider. Let me explain..
In Holland we have KPN, Tmobile and Vodafone. These three are the biggest one here. We also have Telfort, HI, Hollandsnieuwe and Simyo (or Simpel). These providers are called "Virtual" because they dont have their own antennas. They use the one from KPN (most of them) because this is the biggest provider in Holland at the moment.
The issue you describe sound very familiair. In the Galaxy S + section I've read about this issue and some users fixed this with turning ROAMING on. I did not encounter any issues like this on my Galaxy S+ at that time because im on Vodafone.
Perhaps this will be the solution for you? It also could be a CyanogenMod bug but I have no idea

Nice work tho
Mine is having throttled speeds, at only 25 Mbps maximum over both cellular network (LTE) and WiFi based on both the CM10.2 & PacMan ROM (Android 4.3.1). Can anyone explain why? Download speed over WiFi is normally over 40 Mbps for stock 2.254 firmware.
