TYTN II and the Kenwood KDC-BT8041U - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I am haviing trouble with the bluetooth handsfree operation when connecting my TYTN II to the above car unit. The unit accepts calls fine and I can make calls fine when dialling from the phone unit but the functionality of the head unit never works so even though the address book has downloaded andcan be seen when accessing different functions I cannot bring it up on the unit to make a call. The incoming callers details are displayed also so that suggests everything has sync'd ok.
Has anyone else come across this and if so can you give me some advice as I suppose I can live with it but it's a shame not to get the full functionality from the units bluetoth.
Really appreciate any help you may be able to give.
Thanks,
Tim

I had a similar problem with my BT car kit (ck-15w nokia)not reading the contacts from the phones memory the solution I found was to add Jetware software to the phone (http://www.jetwaremobile.com/) they have free demo download which allowed the car kit to read all my contacts ok

Cingular 8125 Bluetooth and BMW UFL

Can someone please help, I Just purchase a Cingular 8125 PDA with:
Rom v: 2.25.11.1 WWE
Rom d: 5/11/06
Radio v: 02.25.11
Protocol v: 4.1.13.12
Extrom v: 2.25.11.102
My problem is that i loose Sync with my BMW bluetooth car, When i sync it to the car the first time everything is ok, I can see receive calls, Make calls, can see the contacts on the car screen.. But when i used it again, it looses the contacts from the screen and looses sync with ULF ( or ULF) .. Not certain what to do, i just install the jetware v. 1.20 and will try to get it to work and see if it does anything but if anyone has a problem like me and has a solution i would be greatfull for the help..
The BMW handsfree system (bluetooth) is not 100% compatible with the Wizard. The closest I got was just the ability to make and receive calls.
To be honest, I'm surprised you got the contacts to download and appear on the iDrive system. Just make sure you have the system properly paired...
in the car: Settings---Phone---Pair
then from the phone discover your car and enter the pass key...normally it's a 4 digit code in the owners manual kit they give you.
Yeah i got the phone to star pair to the car, But yeah for some reason when i pair for the first time the contacts come up and stay and are viewable from car screen but next time i used it there gone and they won't show up unless if i delete the device and re pair to the car.. weird and it sucks cause its hard to dial from phone cause the bluetooth will not give you sound until the other party answer then it will give sound on the car..
why not use the keypad that's under the start button in the car? it slides out and you can dial from there...
on a separate note i recently purchased a hw6945...it pairs with the car and also downloads the phonebook and it stays there too....pretty nice i must say.
Oh yeah its preaty nice to have the phonebook on the car screen.....Yeah using the phone dial button is ok.. and i do used them but the problems its that i have about 283 contacts on my phone book and to be honest i can't remember everyones numbers in order for me to call them, when there on the phone book just scrow from car stering wheel and i find them fast..
but its something that i would to live with until someone is able to fix that issue cause i know its not the BMW ULF on the car cause mostly all other models of phone work fine..
would you like to know a little secret? try this... see if you can get your hands on a Motorola V330...synchronize your contacts with the V330.....then pair up your V330 to the bimmer. Now once it has paired the V330 the ULF will download the contacts into the BMW's communications--->phone book area. Once download is complete just return the phone to who ever you borrowed it from (make sure you restore their settings and erase yours). Now continue to be on your merry way....
Alternatively you could actually purchase a V330 and consider it to be an adapter for your Wizard to synchronize your phone book with.
I have a v3 razer also which works fine, all contacts come up, but keep in mind that those contact will erase ones i used a diffrent phone.. they don't store on the Bimmer ULF memory, and even if they did they will not work with the cingular 8125.. I mean i can used the razer in the car and then used the cingular 8125 outside but sucks to switch sim car everything i do so..
There is no essie solution to this but deal with it...

Car Kit with Diamond - not syncing tel nos

I've had my Diamond for a week now and apart from the battery life being a bit poor - I love it!
I'm managing to get through all the little niggles and annoyances with the help of you guys - but this one has me stumped!
I set it up with my bluetooth car kit. Its an Alpine stereo with a bluetooth unit attached (iDA-X001 with KCE-300BT if anyones interested?!).
The car kit has worked fine with most of my previous phones except Nokia Symbian ones. Perhaps this has changed in newer updates to them - but the original N95 wouldnt display my phone book.#
It works the same way as a Parrot - in that the unit checks your phone book for recent updates - and keeps them stored on it. Then you can dial from it by selecting a number from your 'local' phonebook.
The Diamond seems to work fine with incoming calls - but sticks at 'Updating' with outgoing - meaning I can never make a call from the car kit without dialing with the handset. Its like it never pushes the phone numbers across to the bluetooth adapter (which is meant to store them). I've clicked the Remote SIM on in the settings. Anything else I can try?
Is there a way I can FORCE my contacts onto it?

Bluetooth stops/crashes when connected to Car kit

Hi,
When my phone is connected to my car kit (Opel/Vauxhaul UHP) bluetooth sometimes stops randomly. I can turn bluetooth on again with the commmanager and everything is working again. But it can hapen again after a few minutes.
Does anyone have this problem to or even better a solution?
I allready tried all the different Radio Roms, but this didn't solve my problem.
Well with mine i have some hickus but it just happpends once a while.
Most irritating about Diamond and BT in my opinion is that wa have no equalizing for it. and the sound setup from the begining is horrible.
Asked here if anyone has a solution before but none replied.
But as far 2 your problem no. And i use a Pioneer system in my car.

I've a JVC head and my bluetooth has no problem.
I have a Honda Accord with handsfree built in and I too am having problems. The phone and car both agree that a connection has been made but when i use it to either ring out or receive a call the radio mutes and when receiving the ringing tone sounds over the car speakers but I can`t hear the caller except on the phone which isn`t very useful. Would a ROM or radio upgrade help or is it just a compatibility problem

I had this kind of problems also. Also syncing the phonebook gave me problems. You could try JETware, this solved almost all my problems, except now the bluetooth crashes

Thanks Mauser. I tried Jetware as you suggest and I`m afraid it didn`t help in fact I think it crashed the handsfree system in the car like you. This is the final nail in the coffin for my Diamond. I just can`t get used to it so it`s off to Ebay with it.

I'm sorry to hear that
I am very pleased with my Diamond... I would sooner put my car on eBay than my Diamond
Did you try to check almost everything on in the advanced settings of Jetware? I have also limited the phonebook sync to max 5 entries to debug and on the site of Jetware there wat a fix for Opel car kits.
Keeping my fingers crossed, but until now I haven't experienced any bluetooth crashes.

Thanks again Mauser. I tried various settings but without any success, I think the phone is just not compatible with the Honda. Having said that I don`t have much luck with bluetooth at all on the phone. More often than not It just won`t detect other bluetooth devices and when it does it won`t send or receive files so it`s time for it to go and I can go back to a trusty Nokia
Problems here with BT connection to car kit, too. I'm using the built-in car-kit of an Audi A4 (standard one not that with navigation, remote SIM, etc). I've noticed the following issues:
- when I try to make a call, the CD is cut off but NOTHING is heard in the car speakers UNTIL the other party answers the call (and then I start the conversation). No ringing tone, no nothing. I cannot hear the busy tone, or network failure/congestion tone and this is annoying since I have to keep an eye on the phone to see what's happening. I found myself checking the phone when, after calling someone, nothing happened and in fact I got a busy tone and the call ended.
- sometimes, when I receive a call, the CD stops playing but when I answer nothing is heard from the car speakers but only from the phone (as davemazo said also).
- when I receive a call, I hear in the car speakers a "standard" calling tone, not the ringtone I have assigned for that contact
I have to mention that with any Nokia I had before (and still have one as a second phone), these problems do not exist. I know there is a compatibility between Audi factory installed car-kits and Nokia, but BT is a standard and most of the functions should be supported despite the phone model/type. I've tried also with an iPhone and it's working great, as my Nokia do. I don't understand why it is like this with the Diamond. In fact, I think it is not related to Diamond itself...it's doing like this with ANY Windows Mobile device I've tried in the past (Orange C600, Samsung I600).
Are there any solutions for this? A CAB, a new BT radio, a software, anything?... I don't want to buy a new BT car-kit and try with different models until I find something compatible
Thank you for any info/tip

Hi Rapier,
I also had a SPV C500, MDA Compact, Qtek 8500, Samsung I600, HTC Touch Dual and now the Diamond. The only one which gave me no troubles was the SPV C500, but I think that was because this phone didn't support phonebook synchronization and had no network identification/signal strength over bluetooth.
After the SPV C500 it went wrong. First I noticed that after a hard reset it worked for a few days. Later (about 2 years later ) I found out that it was because the call history was going to long to sync over bluetooth.
Then I found Jetware in which you can limit syncing to any number of items. They even had a fix for the connection to my carkit.
Unit now... it works like a charm... but keep my fingers crossed
I don't know if your carkit is a Audi UHV, but I saw that they had a fix for that too! You have to just install Jetware and then run the fix-file from your phone. Good luck!!
P.S. I am in no kind related to Jetware, I just found out that it worked for me.
Yes, I have an Audi UHV 6634. Thank you for the info, I'll try that and post the results here. Though, my car-kit is not the advanced one and I don't have to sync anything with it (contacts or something else). It's most working as a plain hands-free device, no extra functions...speaking of which, I've noticed that on the phone is detected as "hands-free"...why not "car-kit" as I know a car-kit has other functionality as well? This is the "standard" BT device for any audio enhancements (even if it is a car-kit not a BT headset), or I have to activate something to be recognized as car-kit?

my Honda system doesn`t read the sim I can only dial out via handsfree using contacts i`ve entered into the Honda system otherwise I either have to read the number to the system and it will ring out (most of the time anyway) or make the call on the phone (illegally obviously) cancel the call and then say "redial" and the system makes the call. So uless I`m misunderstanding this setting I don`t think it will help me.
I`ve searched the Jetware website and I couldn`t find a fix for my Honda
UPDATE: So...I've downloaded it, install it on my Diamond (including the extension file for Audi UHV) and...no change. Everything as before with both issues. Disappointed, I've uninstalled Jetware then...surprise. AFTER uninstall, I can now hear through my car's speakers the ID ringtone Maybe some BT settings were altered and remained like this after uninstall, but I don't know why it didn't work when Jetware WAS installed...strange.
Anyway, many thanks...at least half of the problems are now solved and this only by install/uninstall a program...that's cool. I must now find a way to make the car kit ring when I make a call, this is still an issue.
P.S. I've seen that Diamond support Headset and Handsfree profiles...and when connected to my car kit is set as Handsfree. I suppose this is better than Headset...but still no ring out tone.

Hello,
I have a Mercedes car kit and facing the same issue as you: everything works perfectly for a few days when hard-resetting my device, even with my 500+ contacts (they are loaded in less than a minute), but after a few days/weeks I can't get to have my call history or contacts displayed in less than half an hour!
Yesterday I thought I'd just hard reset my device because I had this problem again, but unfortunately it didn't work!
Guess what I have done differently this time: yes, I backed up and restored my call history, which I hadn't done the previous times! So I guess it is indeed related to the call history, but I can't test for now!
I have installed JetWare and limited the call history to 5 numbers, I'll try this tonight and I'll keep you informed...
Hello,
So I have tested this yesterday (installed Jetware and limited the call history to 5 numbers), and now it works FLAWLESSLY! I can browse through my 500 contacts instantaneously when I pair my phone with my Mercedes car kit.
So, in my case it was also clearly the CALL HISTORY that was causing problems... A BIG BIG thanks to Mauser for pointing out this!
I'm also having problem connecting my Diamond to my Volvo S80. All the other functions work except that I could not hear the other party through my car stereo and I also could not diconnect the call with my car end key.
I'll try the Jetware and I'll report back later. Thanks for the pointer.

Bluetooth Car Kit Problems

I have experienced few irritating problems with my Diamond when used in my Seat Leon 2008's stock head unit via bluetooth:
1. Phonebook is displayed always and I can call phones from there which is OK, however "Incoming Calls", "Outgoing Calls" and "Missed Calls" are not working always: sometimes I have those lists filled with the corresponding entries, sometimes all three lists are empty.
2. When I am running iGO8, the bluetooth connection gets connected and disconnected each 5 minutes or so.
3. The headset volume is really low. I didn't have that problem with my Sony Ericsson phones before.
Does anyone have any of those problems and know a solution for them?
Only thing i can say. Stock seat bluetooth is terrible. My brother has orderd a new seat and the dealer advised to choose for the pioneer mounted radio because of the known problems with the seat unit and the bluetooth functions of it.
try posting in the Accesories section, u might get more help.

Pioneer isn't that good either, I had the Pioneer radio with Bluetooth and I couldn't get it running with my previous phone Trinity P3600 and with my Diamond it didn't work either.
Willem
I have used the stock head unit previously with simple mobile phones and it has always worked perfectly and I was very happy with the bluetooth implementation in Seat. So, I think the problem is not in the head unit (i.e. an accessory problem) but lies somewhere in the "phonebook through bluetooth" implementation in the Diamond.
Hello,
I have the same problem. I have a Skoda Octavia II (2007) with built-in bluetooth and a Diamond (ROM 2.03).
I use the iGO8, and it works fine, but the bluetooth connects and disconnects randomly in all ~5 minutes. When I shut down the iGO8 or when it runs on the background, the bluetooth works perfectly, when it runs in the foreground, the bluetooth disconnects again...
Who knows wat is this problem? Should I try a new ROM? A new radio version? A new iGO version?
CyberGene: Have you a solution for this problem? Or you use a different iGO8 or a different navi software?
Thanks,
DuckHead_
Unfortunately I didn't find any solution to the problem. To be honest, I am currently using a SonyEricsson phone and the Diamond is used by my girlfriend. We are still using iGo from within the Diamond but with no Bluetooth activated.
Thank you for the quick answer.
Why don't you just take your car into a car audio place and get them to check it out for you
I thought it so that the problem with Diamond. The BT does not work only if running the iGO...

Diamond and car audionavigation JVC NX7000 bluetooth problem

Hi all,
Need help with my HTC Diamond. As my Pioneer car navigation, with which the diamond bluetooth functioned well, was stolen, I was advised to mount a JVC navigation system NX7000 with a detachable front in order to prevent theft. However, the HTC bluetooth dysfunctions. It connects and pairs without problems, but when the diamond goes into sleep or is switched off, it is impossible to establish a phonecall using the JVC car-unit, although it indicates that blueconnection is still valid. When I switch on the phone, even minutes later, it will eventually do the call. If I force the HTC to remain powered-on it will function normally. I am sure that this has something to do with a suspend-mode of the diamond bluetooth part and that this can be solved by the right registry tweak. I tried several tweaks that I found on the forum already but without succes. I upgraded the HTC to the latest firmware 2.03 but no improvement.
I called with HTC and they said that they know the correct registrysettings but they won't supply them because of "licence restrictions"...........
Anybody the same problem? Somebody who has the solution?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem! Incoming calls work fine, but like you, I cannot initiate outgoing calls from the JVC unit unless the diamond is turned on fully. I there's not a fix for this, I may have to go out and buy an iphone again after selling mine to get a diamond!
there is a fix but HTC won't tell. they suggested to open a thread on this forum in order to get suggestions on the matter. and so I did. When I subsequently asked them if they would post this solution on this forum they said they would not :-(

You may not want to fall back on an iPhone with the JVC NX7000. Not to go too far off-topic here, but pairing an single iPhone works great (once I figured out the overly complicated menus). BUT...it won't let me pair a second phone (of any kind). Once the first phone is paired, all pairing menu options are greyed out ("Search" and "Open"), thereby preventing any further phones from being paired. I first need to unpair the first phone before I can pair the second one. JVC Support is comically unhelpful.
Has anyone had luck paring more than 1 phone (of any brand) with the JVC NX7000?
You are the lucky one! You can succesfully pair one phone but it works
I don't care if I can only pair one phone. I only have one phone! lol.
Hey guys!
kind of the same problem here but with the Volvo built-in bluetooth solution. Actually when the device sleeps and I initiate a call it will take some time, then the device will turn on and it will begin to dial but drops immediately. When the device is fully turned on there is no problem at all. Incoming calls work just fine. Even though it first rings on the phone and after a second or two it will ring in the car and the device will stop ringing. Which confirms that bluetooth sleeps somehow and only connects fully when the device is fully awake.
It really looks like bluetooth goes to sleep, so we need a solution which keeps bluetooth awake even if the device itself is in sleep mode.
Patrick
Exactly the problem I described. It's a sleep or suspend mode of the bluetooth that causes the dysfunction. I can pair nokias wih JVC without any functional problem, they work like a charm. It is really a HTC related problem, I tried a lot of registry tweaks suggested for similar problems in other HTC devices, but no luck so far.
Reply to Guitartng:
storing multiple bluetoothdevices in the JVC for subsequent use can be done by selecting "new device" and then go to "bluetooth setup".
Exact same issue with a Kenwood DNX 8120 double din unit.
If anyone finds out the solution, please post it here. I'll keep searching.
Good News Lads!
Well after blowing my head of trying different roms and radios got a solution.
The solution comes from JVC stereo and not from Htc diamond Phone!
You have to set special phones To Samsung E520 and then pair device with the htc diamond. It works like a charm, know I can make calls through my JVC stereo and NO MORE deep sleep of htc diamond.
Try with samsung, it work for me, if not try with other phones in special phones before pairing!
Cheers!
I just wanted to let you know that I also was able to fix my bluetooth issue by flashing stock firmware 2.03.405.3 WWE with Radio 1.09.25.23. I was previously using Dutty's V4 which is based on 2.03 afaik, but it look like Dutty tweaked something on the bluetooth stby behaviour.
Anyway, it works like a charm now and the whole calling and answering process is also much faster!
