I received a brand new touch pro yesterday from Sprint. I performed an activation online and I can place calls and send text messages with no problems. However, the internet connection doesn't work. I called sprint and they tried to get me to program the phone but the unlock code they provided doesn't work. They gave me two unlocked codes to try. I even tried to use the GETSPC program and the codes generated there still doesn't work. Any reason why? I noticed that under the device information section, the MEID displays the HEX rather than the DEC number. Is there a way to fix this issue? Thanks.
It's an account provisioning problem. Stop by a Sprint store and have them look up your account. Otherwise, just get the unit exchanged if it still doesn't work.

Hi guy,
I recently reported my phone lost, got it blacklisted by tmobile. I since then found it and then called up to have it unblacklisted again.
However, it seems to work on the tmobile network fine. However, when i put in another sim card in the phone (the phone is unlocked) i get the error msg hone not allowed MM #6.
My assumption/hope is that the databases for the network providers need updating.
Can someone confirm is a phone which has been reported lost(blacklisted) and then found(unblacklisted) will work on all networks?
It's more likely that your phone isn't SIM unlocked so it sees the new SIM and then tells you "T-Mobile is the only SIM I'll accept."
I'm in Bolivia. I have a samsung galaxy s, I unlocked with SUperOneClick (for rooting) and sgs tool to unlock it. Then after using a local carrier for about two weeks my phone got the mm#6 error. I was looking for solutions, and then my brother realized that I have to register the phone with the line (IMEI with line). Here in Bolivia exists a law that block phones if they are not registered at someones name and Id. So with nothing to lose, I called assitance of the carrier and register the IMEI I found in the Android menu (About phone>status>IMEI) with the GSM chip/line I have. Wait for 20 minutes and voilá! phone got signal and it's working now. I hope still working from now and on. SO IF YOU HAVE THIS TROUBLE CALL YOUR CARRIER AND REGISTER YOUR PHONE'S IMEI WITH THE LINE YOU ARE USING, IT'S SIMPLE. YOU CAN TRY THAT BEFORE GETTING INTO SOFTWARE STUFF.
HOPE THIS HELP SOMEBODY.
GOOD LUCK!
At first I opened thread a thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4468480) regarding not getting prompt for a sim unlock code using a gophone sim. I got around that by trying another (international) sim I had laying around, so was able to then use an unlock code to unlock my phone.
At this point, though, I am still stuck, as I am not able to connect to the AT&T network using a gophone sim.
sim works fine in a different phone
The ROMS I have used:
"The HTC ADP 1.5 CRC1 ROM" from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538456
cyanogenmod 4.0.4
To note, no APNs show under settings>wireless controls>Mobile Networks>Network>Access point names when I put non-tmobile sims in. When I add one, it still does not show up on the list. I have also tried clearing the data partition and tried setting up an APN during the setup procedure - no dice - the APN I just edited and saved does not show up.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
I can say I don't got any, other than it don't like your go phone, I am afraid that if you get it working at this point, it might go kaboom in spite.
Those g1s are some finiky creatures, beware they attack if startled
FIXED!!!!
I dont know if this is new for gophone or anything .... but apparently "new" gophone accounts are tied to the IMEI number that you first start your account with. At least this is what they told me when I called into the gophone service center.
Anyway... I worked with a tech who seemed quite knowledgeable. I convinced her to change to IMEI number linked to my account and change it to the G1's IMEI (to note - I honestly answered every question asked of me, such as the phone being an unlocked G1 I bought on ebay). At first it did not take - I waited an hour to see if maybe it was something that just needed to propagate thorough AT&T's network. The tech called me back. Because it did not work, she changed it back to the original phone on the account. I then asked her to please change it back to the G1's IMEI and please just leave it - I would wait a day to see if that helped any. She changed it back to the G1's IMEI and then I told her I would continue to play with the phone. Right after our call ended, my phone all of a sudden connected to AT&T's network.
I hope that this helps someone out. I know that I am happy as I can finally get playing around with this thing.
Thanks to those who offered advise.
Hey I'm having a very similar problem with my Dell Streak 5 and my GoPhone SIM card, I've even gone through the IMEI process with support from AT&T and I guess they successfully changed the IMEI linked to my SIM card to that of my new Dell Streak 5 but it's been 4+ hours and it's hasn't been "updated" in their system. Though the IMEI is now correctly linked to my Dell Streak 5 I still get no service and cannot connect to any network. I'm stumped!
Hi,
I recently bought a Droid 3 from a guy in the US who says he activated it and "put it in gsm mode" so i can use it outside the US with another carrier's SIM card. When i got it and insert my SIM it prompted for an Unlock Code (which i later got and it was accepted). Now its asking to be 'activated' but i am outside the US and so its just sits there with a black (bluish screen) and nothing happens then it finally returns to the screen requesting to activate once more.
Anyone know what is the solution to this dilemma and save me from having bought an expensive paperweight?
thanks for any tips,
.../Ian
you can try to press home and you should be able to get back to where you were.
If you were to be stuck in the emergency call area, all the better, enter *228 and call, while its calling, press home. thereafter you can cancel the call by sliding down the notification bar and cancelling it.
I'm not sure if there is a permanent solution to your problem, but I will try to look into it
UPDATE: a screenshot by a camera would be helpful
Thanks. Tried this sequence but got "phone activation not supported on this network". I attached an image.

I think you need to bypass activation. Try the Droid2 method

Cleanser,
Maaan do i owe you a beer! That worked like a charm! Thank you ever so much my friend. I was staring at the thing wondering what to do with it and had resigned myself to sending with the wife to the US later this month to activate.
You were a godsend. You just made a friend in Trinidad & Tobago!
One thousand thank you's...

Could you make phone calls now?
I'll have to use QPST to overwrite someting of the phone, even after bypass activation.
BTW, I am using a SIM card from China Telecom.
No problems at all making and receiving phone calls. No issues of any kind thus far.

good that your problem got resolved.
I just got another Droid 3 online but after obtaining the unlock codes, 2 in fact, it is still "locked". Now it just shows a screen saying, Phone is subsidy locked, contact service provider.
= ( anyone has any idea what I could do or perhaps another unlock code site I could try?
I read where Verizon changes the code OTA making unlocking the Droid 3s a bit more challenging. maybe they changed the code in yours where the manufacturer's code no longer works. I think that unlocking these are really like sticking apples in a barrel...

I am in the same boat here. Subsidy code to unlock. I guess we have to wait for the new codes to be released. O call Verizon (only Verizon customer which I am not). When ones pays full price they should unlock the phone automatically because we are subsidizing the phone discount with the monthly payment.
Hello all,
I just purchased a Sprint HTC One that has previously been flashed for Page Plus. I did an online chat with PP to do an esn swap. The rep said everything on his end went fine, but my One would not receive service. I just got back on chat and had PP swap esns back to my original phone, and the service works fine.
I looked at the "current username" and Phone Number fields on the One (in the Phone Identity page), and it looked like it did not accept my correct phone number, as there is a number in those fields I do not recognize - presumably the previous owner's old number.
Do I need to manually change the phone number on my phone? If so, would you please direct me to a tutorial on how to do so? Thanks!:good:
Hi I am in need of some help. I will try to give as much detail as possible.
I was talking on the phone 3 days ago and suddenly my call was cut short. The signal icon at the top was greyed out and it had a little x in the bottom. I tried to figure out what happened and at first I thought the cell tower went down because I was unable to connect to 2g, 3g, LTE/4g, nothing.
Next day with my father visiting my house, I tried his phone, put in my SIM, it works, there is signal (nothing greyed out) and I see the name of the phone service at the top left "Personal". His phone with his SIM works as well. Cell towers are working fine. I put my SIM back in my phone, no signal, not able to make phone calls or receive text messages.
At this time WIFI, Whatsapp, the phone itself works. I double checked APN settings from the carriers website, everything matched. I tried rebooting the phone, reseating the chip, selecting towers automatically, manually, and read many many discussions on the web none of which helped. I decided to do a factory reset. Backed up all photos to the computer and proceeded to reset it to factory new. Put in the SIM and same problem. Oh I also in the meantime have spoken with my service provider and they do not see anything wrong on their end.
So now I proceed to restore the phone from a backup on my MI account, all apps restored. Now I try to use Whatsapp and it wants to confirm my account with a text message, that is a problem because I can't receive text messages. I went to my service provider today, they put in a store SIM with a different number and it worked, they assumed I had a faulty SIM and gave me a new SIM with my number, same problem. Now I think it has something to do with XIaomi or MIUI or my MI account. I log into my MI account from my computer and try to add my email under security and it won't let me because it needs verify my account by sending a text message to my cell which of course is not working.
I am thinking of rooting the phone but I imagine I will somehow be blocked there too.
What happened to my phone?
Is my account being protected in some way MIUI, XIaomi or my MI account preventing me from activating my SIM?
Everything I try to do requires a confirmation text.
I want to root the phone but in order to do so I need to request that Xiaomi unlock the bootloader which will require a text message which of course is to be sent to my phone that wont connect to the cell tower.
Was I hacked or spoofed?
How do I go about fixing my situation?
Have you tried changing region and changing back to your country again? That may be possible reason.
For confirmation of code for bootloader unlocking, while applying put your sim card into other phone and that way you'll be able to get code and bootloader unlocked and can flash and try with different rom.
Similarly if your device is out of warranty then you may want to check with the antenna cable inside phone if that is got disconnected or got loosen. I don't if this would have happened or not but this could be issue. Process with precaution if you do so,I won't be responsible for anything.
