duplicate contacts

any program that can remove duplicate contacts from sim or outlook contacts on the wing(i use inesoft address book as default)thnx.

I think there are various free apps that will do this on the PC.
Sync to PC, clean up your outlook contacts with free app, then resync.

I would like to have the options in Outlook to just click "Do not show SIM contacts"... would help a lot without loosing the sim contacts....

Contacts Sync Problem

Hi
When i first got my Kaiser, i put in my SIM which had my contacts on it...but it didnt save them all properly like Mobile and Home etc.
Anyway i put the SIM back in my N73 and synced the contact list to outlook, then put SIM back into Kaiser and synced the Kaiser with the Outlook contact list, which is what I was advised to do in another thread.
Now im my contacts it has 2 entries for everyone...seems when it synced with outlook it just added it...without removing the original contacts.
How can i make it so its just 1 list?

In PDAs the sync with outlook takes place with your phone memory and not the SIM memory. Thats why the contacts ate existing in your phone memory as well ass in SIM memory. That is not a problem. Pl switch off the display of SIM_Contacts and things shall look good

Did you have to create two threads for the same problem? If you read your manual, it would tell you how to manage your SIM and Outlook contacts.

Contacts problem

Hi,
Im having problems with my contacts, There are some contacts that are on the sim card and not in the outlook contacts. So What I want to do is merge the two so Ive got one list with all the contacts on in outlook.
Ive tried sync'ing them with active sync but the sim contacts seem to be missing when I go to my PC and look in Outlook. Ive gone into sim manager and tried copying them but it hasn't seem to have done what I want. So I was wondering if there is a way to merge the two so i can back them up and just have one list with the two sets of contacts in.
I hope this makes sense and you guys understand what Im trying to do.
I would really appreciate any help you could give me and explain where im going wrong.

i will answer you as much as i understoad you
to show your sim contacts on the list of contacts you have to do the folowing
open contacts and then open the menue and open sim manager
then select all contacts and save to contacts
then they will appear in your contacts list

I've tried that, but when I go into outlook to view my contacts on my pc there are still contacts missing from the PC that are in my phone. I am not sure if they are sim contacts or ones stored in outlook on the phone.
I guess what im after is something to view/explore the contacts on my phone and sim card on the computer so I can see them infront of me on the computer screen. Then I can save them from the phone and sim card together into one file and merge the sim and phone contacts together to have one list of the two together.
I hope you guys can understand what im trying to achieve and help me out as I would be extreemly greatful.

I've had a search but I can't find anything regarding my question, which is this:
Is it possible to display the SIM contacts when the Contacts tab is selected?
From what I can see it is only the phone contacts that are visible. I am aware that I can copy my SIM contacts to the phone to get them to be visible, but this is not what I want to do if I can help it. I am also aware that I may not be able to get photos associated to my SIM contacts, but that's not a problem for me.

What if I only want to use the contacts off of my sim card and not contacts saved to phone or from my Google account? Is this possible?

Yes, contacts -> display options uncheck google and facebook.

Do I need to "Import from SIM card". With my Vibrant and any other GSM phone I just slide the SIM in and there are my contacts shown off of my SIM. Does stock Android not do this?

I imported my SIM contacts and in display options under Choose contacts to display. Only Google is showing up AND I am showing triple contacts in my phonebook, YES THREE OF EACH CONTACT. What the HECK is going on. A little frustrated with this.

first of all, in contacts under accounts, uncheck sync contacts.
then delete all the phone contacts (you may use mass contact delete app from market).
then import from sim card.
in this way, no repetitions and only sim contacts would be displayed on the phone.
also if you want to manage the contacts on phone and on the sim use "contacts to sim" app from market.

and also to mange the contacts of your gmail, in pc go to gmail, then on left side, click contacts.
and in options click merge duplicates. it does it.
but again duplicates. lol
so what i did is deleted the gmail contacts and if it again backups i delete again.
