Agreed, this is annoying how you cant just silence it... It can be handy to have a lengthy message tone...
is there any way to get this is silent
no i dont think you can silence it..
Had this happen to me today.
Change my text ringtone to a short and sweet one
Try Phone Alarm
Try a program called Phone Alarm from pocketmax. Lets you set tones and or silent for all alerts.
am looking for how can i make my phone silent when i get message like call when i press any botton like nokia or other phone
Hello all,
I was wondering if there was a software that would allow me to adjust the volume of my text message alerts (possibly as well as other alerts/notifications) differently from my ringtone volume.
I want my ringtone loud, but the alert I have for my text messages and emails are just as loud and they get annoying without purpose. I could probably just switch alerts/sounds so its no big deal, but I do have a custom/unique tone that I would like to keep if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all.... i wonder if there is any way to set a ring tone, but that starts at full volume, i mean not ascendent (increasing) like default....

Just turn off the notification sounds via settings /sound /notification sound. That will apply to all notifications though, sms, whatsapp Etc.
This reminds me... Is there any good free app that will allow you to set individual tones for contacts and apps such as FB and other games that notify you when its your turn to play, etc?

You can change this setting per account without changing the system notification sound level. In the email account settings you can specify the notification bar alert, and the sound / vibrate. Set the sound to silent to mute any account.
When I'm on a call, all notifications makes a chime as it comes through, even though the phone is set to silent and vibrate one.
1. I have disabled the setting in the phone app's setting: "Notify during calls - Allow alarms and notification to sound during calls"
2. I have all notifications set to silent and vibrate all the time because I don't want sounds.
3. I tried using an unobtrusive "pop" sound as the notification sound, but when on the phone, all notifications sounds switch to the default Samsung ringtone that is very loud and distracting to the person on the other end.
Any idea why this is happening? Anything I can try next?
