I have a problems with the Birthdays and Anniversary dates being changed by 1 day, always the day before what I put in. If I put 01/27/06 as a birthday on a contact, sometime over the next day, it will change to 01/26/06. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it.
Thanks
Andy
does anyone else have this problem?
Yes. I do.
To further clarify:
Birthdate and anniversary reminders show up correctly on the WinMo Calendar.
However
If you go to Start > Contacts choose a familiar contact and click on it. Scroll all the way to the bottom. The birthdate and anniversary date for that contact are listed INCORRECTLY as one day earlier than the correct date.
The correct birthdates and anniversary dates continue to show up correctly as calendar reminders on the WinMo device. They also remain correct on the synched PC's Calendar AND Contact Items.
It's only the individual contact card on the Windows Mobile Device that has the birthdates and anniversaries incorrectly one day early.
I suspect there are a number of people with this problem who have not yet investigated it.
In getting to the core of the problem and trying to help out, I can say I am running Device- Tytan II based, USA, AT&T Tilt / 8925 / Kaiser. HyperDragon III December 25th ROM. PC Is Vista 32 bit Ultimate SP1 with all MS Office Updates and with the 8-2007 Windows Mobile Device Center Update. MS Office Small Business 2007.
Will be working next few days to forensically determine if caused by ROM, WMDC, Outlook 2007, infection / infiltration.
Any other members with similar situation, please post details and info!

My phone has the stock HTC ROM. It did the same thing when I had activesync on a XP machine and WMC on my current Vista PC. I've had the same problem with a 8525 as well. The only common part is contacts and MS Office.
It changes the dates on both, I don't use reminders on birthdays so I haven't seen that, but if the date is wrong, how can the reminder be right.
I hope you find something, thanks for the help.
Same here
I have an AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro) with stock ROM. Syncing with Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager on a Vista Ultimate SP1 laptop. It appears that only the birthdays during Daylight Savings Time are off. All Microsoft updates have been installed.
It is indeed a DST bug.
And I've now seen it on a number of different phones / configurations.
Here is how I solved the problem.
YMMV
First be sure to back up your .pst files!
Downloaded this Microsoft DST patch
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...92-3142-4473-b435-b514e4b360a5&DisplayLang=en
Put the .cab on phone's micro SD card.
Powered up phone and synced it with WMDC.
Opened Outlook and deleted all contacts - i.e. moved all contacts to the Deleted Items Mail folder.
Waited while WMDC synced / removed all contacts from phone.
Disconntected phone from computer.
Went to phone's File Explorer and went into the Storage card and found the DST fix cab I downloaded to the card earlier.
Ran the DST fix .cab
Rebooted the phone.
Attached phone to computer and ran WMDC.
Opened Outlook
Went to Deleted Items email folder and one by one dragged each contact back to its original Contact Folder location.
When contacts were synced back and on phone again, birthdates and anniversary dates were showing correctly both on the computer and on the Windows Mobile Phone.
What a pain! Not sure that was the best or easiest way. Not sure if it will work for anyone else. Again be sure to back up your .pst file first in case anything goes wrong.
I'm convinced this problem is more widespread than most people are taking note of.
Because. Birthdates show up correct on Outlook / computer. Birthdate reminders show up correctly on the calendar of both Outlook and Windows Mobile phone. Which is more than enough for most people. Im betting in large part people dont scroll down individual contact cards on Windows Mobile phone and take note of the birthdate written on the contact card and notice it's one day off.
Now I just hope when we switch back to daylight savings time I dont have to go through some convoluted process all over again!

Im having problems syncing my wing with outlook 2007. I never had this problem when using outlook 2003. It would go through the whole sync process, but nothing will sync except notes. No contacts, calender or tasks. Im using active sync 4.5 . I get the support code 8007000e which says my device doesnst have enough memory to sync?? Ive never had this problem before.
Well the herald does have a memory problem, and Ii have seen quite a few ROMS with memory leaks also, (multiple instances of phone opened for example) seems like the obvious that you should edit your pagepool to allow for more program memory if you have not done so already.
yah my pagepool is at 6 right now. I dont understand why its happening now and was fine before i installed outlook 07
Is outlook installed on a XP machine or on a vista ?
outlook is installed on a xp machine
my friend is running outlook 2007 on a vista pc, i have never heard him talk about this problem ...
I had to run an 8mb page pool for active sync to work ok with my exchange server. Even after a soft reset it complained about memory when it was set to a 6mb page pool.
I actually found out the problem. Apparently theres a problem with activesync where you cant have notes with your appointments. Doesnt make sense but once i deleted my appointment that had a note attached it worked fine. Weird???

Hmm, weird. I've never had the problem and I use Office 2007 with XP, but then again I don't have any appointments with notes on them. When I get back to work (shortly) I will add a note to a calendar appointment and see if I can duplicate the problem.
**** ok, tried this. I added notes on the appointment itself and had no issues. Did you mean you 'attached' a note to the appointment? Or just added notes in the provided spots on the appointments?
Hi, this might not belong in this forum but hopefully my question can be answered quickly.
I have all my contacts in Outlook 2003, and ActiveSync is set up to sync contacts, but when my Tilt and computer sync, the contacts from my outlook don't go onto my Tilt. Conversely, I made a contact on my Tilt and synced, and I could not find it in my Outlook.
How do I get the contacts from my Outlook 2003 onto my Tilt?

If you are having problems with Outlook sync, I would suggest this if no-one else comes up with an alternative.
Make sure you have the latest A-sync (4.5xxx) installed.
Back up your phone with SPB or something similar if you can.
Delete the Activesync association in 'Activesync' on your device and then go through the process of setting it up again when you connect to your PC/laptop.
Once this is done, select 'Replace all data on device...' which will give a CLEAN sync and will put all data from your PC/laptop back on your device.
I tried that, and it didn't seem to work. The phone sync's fine, but nothing goes onto the phone. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
OK, one last thought.. If you have tried this before, your PC may be holding the association name.
Before you connect the phone, Open Activesync on the PC, go to 'File' 'Delete Mobile device' and remove all references...
May work?
I tried both.
I flashed to the HTC rom from the Tilt rom. Looks like I'll be flashing back to Tilt to see if that's the problem.

Really wierd?? you cant sync at all??
It SAYS it's all synced, but the contacts are not on my phone.
edit: Looks like it wasn't the rom's fault. The Tilt rom also won't sync my contacts.
same problem with AS
same here
since i upgrade my xda iis to pdaviet wm6. i just select the contact to be synchronize. in AS its show syncronize 150 contact, when i put my device on the cradle.
but when its done. nothing seem to be copied
i try to add 1 contact manualy in my device and sync, it copied to outlook. so the opposite, when i add contact in my outlook, it copied to my device contact. but not the rest ...
i havent try with other rom nor other ver outlook
i use winXP SP2 with ms outlook 2007. my xda on pdaviet 5.80.02 WWE, ROM date 12/06/07
any sugest would be helpful
regards
I had the same problem with activesync saying it had copied over over contacts but nothing appeared (using outlook 2007 by the way).
So i plugged it into another laptop that had outlook 2007 installed and it synced no problem over activesync
So i guessed that there was some sort of courruption or error on my main desktop pc.
Fixed the whole problem by installing the latest office service pack.
Syncs perfectly now
sync problem with tilt
I had a problem sync'ing the tilt- xp/pro and office 07
I finally found out there were other versions of office on the machine, and apparently it didnt know where to point to outlook.
Uninstalled previous versions of office, cleaned the registry, and like magic, it worked fine.
Many hours spent finding this out. Had help from Mr. Bean.
I hope this helps.

help
If I do this will I lose all the contact on my phone? Sim?
also what file is this: Activesync association......which file do I delete?
All of the sudden I am having problems sync'ing my phone with Outlook 2007. New contacts and calendars that I have added to Outlook will not sync to my phone. I thought that I had read somewhere that you could clear a setting in the Tilt to make this work but I can't find it anywhere now.
Anyone have any suggestions.
Tilt
Outlook 2007
Vista
Thanks!
Anybody have any ideas?
we started experiencing this too.
At first, it was just one person and then another. I noticed this morning I had the same issue.
Appointments created on my desktop machine do not sync to my phone. However, appointments created on my device will sync to my desktop.
I have been unable to resolve the issue so far.
I think I may try going back to outlook 2003 and see if this issue resolves.
I have had similar problems under XP in the past, where any appointment with a note attached would not sync, also any contact with a photo would not sync.
If you type the following (or cut and paste) into the 'run' window it may help or may not in your case - it certainly sorted my problem out
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll
If it doesn't help - as it is a slightly different problem fix, then I am sorry I have no other ideas.
You could also try this site which is where the above fix came from originally:

NOTE that I am talking about XP so not sure if the fix is suitable to try on Vista

I am only posting this so that you know that it does and can work - I have (at least so far) using the ROM in my sig - and Office 2007 on an XP Pro machine had no problems synching. I sync messages, contacts, calendar tasks notes and favorites.
FYI,
Bill
I have some variables I did not mention before such as groupwise and Vista OS, not to mention what we are changing in the server background.
Here is the 'shotgun' approach I used:
I noticed today my calendar was not syncing.
Appointments added on my PC would not sync to my device.
Appointments added on my device would sync to my PC.
(POSSIBLE PROBLEM #1)
I uninstalled Office 2007, rebooted and installed Office 2003 and the GroupWise connector.
The installation detected an install of GroupWise and asked to remove it…..I said yes.
(POSSIBLE PROBLEM #2)
During that process another message indicated that it was configured to use an ‘OFFLINE’ mailbox (It was configured to use ONLINE mailbox) did I want to delete the box. I said yes.
I launched Outllook 2003 and all was good.
(POSSIBLE PROBLEM #3)
Connected my device and WMDC launched and I got an error indicating a memory read write error cancel or proceed. I told it to proceed and the sync started but never progressed or completed.
I deleted the partnership between my device and computer. It warned that all contacts and mail and appointments synced with only that device would be removed. I said ok.
Connected my device and it removed the partnership and items described above.
I created a new partnership and it synced and everything worked.
OK, this just started for me. Yesterday, after entering a couple of appointments into my Tilt, I was able to sync to a MS Exchange Server wirelessly everything EXCEPT those 2 appointments. Mail/contacts work fine. Just not new appointments. However, I can enter them directly into Outlook 2003 and they sync back to the Tilt. No new appointment, re-occurring or not, with or without notes/reminders/attachments syncs. they are reflected on the Tilt, just won't sync. When connected via USB, I get the no help "Support Code 1" error.
My ROM/Radio/Hard SPL info is in my signature. Win XP (I don't know what service pack the server is, but no changes that have occured that coincide), Active Sync is 4.5.0. Death V.4 does have Thumbcal installed by default which, in an effort to resolve, switched to the standard calendar program. I also (in no particular order):
1. ran scanpst.exe on PC
2. ran detect and repair in Outlook
3. did Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\ole32.dll
4. deleted and reconfigured relationship in Activesync
5. changed the durations of the past appointments AND
6. searched to no end XDA and the net for a solution.
Any assistance would be appreciated. TIA!!
-Sign into OWA check if all is ok.
-On your desktop, do the same in outlook
-Create a test appointment with notes on OWA and see if it sync with your desktop calendar.
*If it sync you're good and you may have to contact your exchange host to see if there's been any changes in your exchange setup settings for your device.
*If the sync fails, create a new outlook profile on your desktop. It's a possibilty you profile is corrupt. Any part of outlook can be corrupt and not effect outlook as a whole. In your case, your calendar isn't functioning properly.
-Also...if you had your exchange account for a while, check the personal folder file size. It can hold up to 1.96 gb but at around 1.75, 1.8 gb ... outlook may do some weird things. If this is the case, you need to start archiving.
Hope this helps.
My background on topic:
I used to do tech support for Honeywell where 80% were exchange email related. Most of the users used Blackberrys and a handfull of windows mobile users. I provided telephone & remote support with Landesk & Remote Desktop.
Thanks! I will check in the morning. After posting this I noticed that one of my PST was well into 2 gigs. I am in the process of moving stuff around and hopefully can get it to be a more reasonable size. Lots of rules to adjust. . . .

OK, no luck. Entered an appointment with note in OWA, which synced fine with desktop. Adjusted pst size down to 1 gig, deleted and created a new profile in Outlook. Hard reset Tilt, contacted IT at work and no changes to Exchange Server. IT said contact ATT to see if it is something on their end, but I don't see how that could be.
This is a disaster for me.
I really need to have this working.
edit: One more interesting facet: if I just sync the calendars via USB (i.e. deselect MS Exchange and select "this PC"), syncing occurs. This is entirely related to the wireless component of syncing the calendar. Weird . . .
edit 2: well, flahed Duttys Hybrid, and all was good. Reflashed Death V4 and problem returned. Switched over to L26 KaiserDiamond V9 and problem resolved. NO FRIGGIN IDEA WHY. Thanks DWNY for the help, though. I suspect that my Exchange Server has something against Shogunmark.

Glad I could help ... somewhat.
What ever you do, do not upgrade to IE8 especially if you update your calendar with OWA. The new appointment will show up in your calendar but if you've created notes .... the won't sync to your phone.
Other browsers will show OWA in basic mode with only text entries, no HTML support.
Just a tid bit to share .....
ROMeOS 3.1 has worked great for me.
I'm a heavy Outlook user myself. These days I run my own IT Sub-Contracting company and do all my scheduling via OWA.

Anybody? would love some help!
Not sure if anyone is still having this issue, but the fix for Calendar items created on device not syncing up to Exchange (but sync no problem from Exchange to device), do the following:
1. Go to Start/Settings/Clock & Alarm
2. Change your Time Zone to another zone, and OK.
3. Go into ActiveSync on device, and sync with exchange
4. Go back to Clock & Alarm and change your time zone back to appropriate time zone
5. sync with ActiveSync again.
Problem should be resolved. Has worked for me many of times.
Thanks!
For the last few months I have been unable to send text, but I could recieve texts. This seems to have resolved itself after I synced with Windows 7/Office 2010 beta on second machine. After I sync now with Outlook 2007 on my main XP machine texting is still working.
Not sure that was what cured the problem. Because at about the same time I created a new contact on the phone and noticed texting had become available. Whichever changed things I can now text any of my contacts.
But an ongoing problem is syncing the calendar. If I create an appointment on the device it syncs to outlook 2007. However if I create the appointment on the pc it does not sync to the phone. It has worked previously
Any advice would be sincerely welcomed
Using AT&T Tilt with 02 Xda Stellar rom Win Mobile 6.1
try deliting the partnership in activesync on your phone and both pc's and do a new "first time" sync, maybe that will help
Same?
i have the same problem! but with my father's phone (HTC Blackstone (HD)) as well as mine (HTC TYTN II). deleting the partnership does nothing! i found i have to link up my phone via the activesync cable , but this is a problem when im in a rush or something and i have to turn on the computer...
we both have wm 6.1 running on our devices maybe thats it?
