After installing HardSPL and custom firmware, I tried to reset my device to stock firmware. However, I didn't read carefully, so I flashed stock SPL (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/Restore_Stock_SPL_114_2.zip) to my phone first, now being unable to flash neither HardSPL back (results in error 262) nor stock firmware (which I can't find on these forums for my Dutch WWE phone though. Flashing the HK-version won't work without HardSPL).
Flashing HardSPL returns with error code 262. Some topics suggest using MTTY with commands:
Code:
USB>set 14 0
USB>task 28 55aa
This only resulted in a hard reset. Luckily enough, my phone is still working, but with the stock SPL and without the stock firmware.
I tried searching these forums, but unfortunately, I can't find any answers to my specific problem. Maybe someone can help me?

Hi,
I have upgraded my Orange SPV M700 (UK) shipped roms to the following:
SPL-1.30.Olipro
AX3L_OS v2.0.8.2
I may have mis-understood from the readme but I thought the updated radio was part of AX3L's rom update as when it completed everything was updated except the radio version (this still showed 1.30.00.01 in device info. the ROM shows 2.0.8.2).
So I updated just the Radio to version 1.46.00.11 and the flash process completed ok, however still it shows 1.30.00.01 in device information.....any idea how to fix this?
I followed the guides on
http://trinityguides.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=4&id=31&Itemid=66
Apart from the radio not showing the correct version everything else is fine, GPS, etc. does work but I did notice it seemed to get very warm at the back of the handset (can't remember it doing this before the upgrades).
Thanks for any help.
hrdspl 1.30 desn't upgrae radio. Get flash witouth go in bootloader
So, are you saying start the radio rom upgrade without going into bootloader? Just want to confirm as the guides state otherwise...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316274 I download the radio here and upgraded only the radio. I got error text the first time i tried to flash but when phone go to bootloader flash,it again, works perfect!
here you find the 1.46.30.11 radio too

Yes. In that way you flash with sspl.
Thanks for both your replies, flashed ok and now updated with 1.46.30.11.
Cheers.
can i just re-emphasize that it's quite dangerous to flash radios without hard-spl, and not the kind of advice you want to be giving out on this forum. If you're so convinced it's the Hard-SPL, load a different hard-spl before you flash the radio.. SSPL isn't a good alternative as all it does it bypass CID check, not protect your device in case of a bad flash
Switch back to SPL-1.20.Olipro and you can flash radio roms.
yes, please follow the guides on the site, which now reflect the option of going back to old hard spl if 1.30 doesn't seem to be working.
it is not good advice to be handing out in the forum that people should flash radio without hard-spl. You guys are going to wind up responsible for a lot of noob bricks, and you're lucky you don't have one yourself
Hello
For first i had installed 1.30 oilpro and Radio 1.50xxx
Than i had installed SSPL.
Is it normaly that when im flashing rom apears the bootloader sspl (by des), and when i enter the bootloader manualy i see the oilpro 1.30 ecc.
the only problem is that the rom update aborts after starting bootloader, and i must restart the setup in bootloader mode.
How to reset the phone to original Bootloader and radio, and where to find it?
Need i SSPL or can i work only whit spl (Oilpro)??
What are the kommands to reset and format it complete in original status?
Sorry by my bad english
i'd also like to know
Your english is good.
I also have some problem to upgrade the rom.
I did so many test, that like you I'd like to go back to intial satge.

Let's wait some help
okay, i am aware that i have requested the stock - 'from-the-factory-English' ROM before, and i had it saved to my desktop, however, my $3100 Vaio POS with 64-bit Vista decided to erase half of itself the other day and i ended up losing the ROM for the blackstone English settings.
now that Sony has provided me with a 32-bit recovery dvd set, i am able to resume most normal functions, but now i have the Miri (latest) ROM installed on the cell and every other text i receive is just jibberish - consisting of an alpha-numeric stew, straight out of MS' character map lore.
i would really like to restore the original, English, factory settings to the phone, if possible.
thanks for any & all support (",)
okay -
i think i downloaded the correct stock rom for te phone, but now it gives me this:

That just means the CID of the rom you are attempting to flash does not match the CID of your device. Is your phone an unbranded WWE phone? Or is it branded, i.e. Orange?
Either way, if you want to flash a stock WWE rom to your phone you can even with the CID mismatch. You can use USPL to keep the stock SPL and then flash the new stock WWE rom.
Or, alternatively, you can use HSPL and have a modified and unlocked SPL on your phone so that you can flash any rom anytime you want.
The main difference is with USPL you have to use it every time you want to flash a custom or CID-mismatching rom. HSPL is a permanent (but reversible) solution.
There are plenty of How To threads this should have been posted in.
In short, use USPL when flashing a ROM, or put Hard SPL on first.
Thread Closed.

Hi. I've been trying to unlock my p3600i on windows 7, after i've installed the activesync 4.5 xp drivers.
I've managed to flash several custom and an official ROM, but i can't flash a RADIO. Neither the unlocker or the latest radio 1.56.70.11 worked, they just stuck at 0% for ever.
What should i try to do in order to get it unlocked? Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Hardspl version???
What hard spl version do you have mate???

see the post #184, hope i helped you fix your problem as i suffered that problem my self very recently..
my topaz needs a service and i restored the original and rom. when i used the relocker that is provided by olinex, my device is not booting. i need help please. my device shows that its running stock spl 1.33.0000. when i come to flash another rom (sock rom) it will not allow me to do so.it says not allowed please help me.im begging
Hey. If I am not wrong, you need to load the stock rom before lock it with SPL again.
So what I would do is try to HSPL again, load the stock rom and then lock it with the SPL.
Hope it works. There are a few threads that shows you how to load the stock rom back in order to send it to HTC warranty service.
Cheers.
it wont let me load hspl. it will say not allowed for some reason
please tell us exactly your steps ...
never mind. i was getting errors because i was trying to install a rom that was not meant for my phone after i put the stock spl and i didnt know that europe had more than one wwe version
