I dont know about you guys, and im not planning of arguing who is the best cook in here, but for me L26 roms are the greatest roms! i used to check the forum on a daily basis just to update my ROM to the latest L26 one, but u all know he has been busy while developing his new ROM, so how many of u have been able to calm your flashing addiction in all this time??

never been "married" to him mine first was Sleuth30, sorry ...
I've never even used an L26 ROM. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the next one and give it a try.

I'm pretty sure Leo WAS cooking for the blackstone, and quit cooking for the Kaiser months ago. Is there any reason you've been holding out on flashing other roms?

I was a hyperdragon guy myself until i bought my fuze, but sadly SJ does not cook for the Raphael. As for Leo I know he was cooking for the Touch HD for awhile.
I was using his M2D version until he stopped making newer ones Right now im using PdaCorner V17 ( WM 6.5 ) and am loving it. Ive been swapping things from HDIII to Athine to you name it Hard to break the addiction
I've always been a dragon.

If the Fuze had a tilting screen, I would have bought one a long time ago. I'm with you though, NATF had the best ROMs.
Yeah, when I checked the blackstone forums, L26 was over there (someone had already mentioned).
I've stuck with his ROMs though because...I dunno...I just think that even if they haven't been updated in a while, they are the best for what I want. I'm very picky and I do judge books by their covers...Most of the other cooks don't have the style I like...or they don't put the programs I want/put too many programs I don't want. L26's roms are tasteful, stylish, and functional.
I've actually never tried L26's ROMs i remeber I was going to but then when It said it had to be security unlocked I had no idea what that was because I was a uber-noob

that is the smartphone version NOT the ppc version. there is NO real video or else for ppc version...
we'll see once the chef's start integrating the new os if the speed hype is for real, honestly thats all i'm looking for. oh and if it's not too much to ask i'd like my left softkey to go back to "new" in messaging like WM5. i could care less for individual message delete as clearing a whole folder does the trick for me =)
Of course the PPC version will be better-looking since PPCs are better than smartphones.

Pretty sure its going to be a whole new rom, as i dont think ive ever seen a point "upgrade" for windows mobile os. This will definately entail flashing a new image and all existing data will need to be backed up beforehand.
Hello, couple of days ago i moved back to windows mobile and bought a HD...So far i have flashed the latest stock ROM, Dutty's 2.3,Touch of HD 3.4.2, wm 6.5 version ..... and I would say the stock ROM is the best so far
Other options ? Any ideas which is the most used rom ?

the roms we use, are the ones we like. you need to run the one you like
you wont get a vote here on "whose is the best rom?"
didn't ask whose rom is the best....i asked what is the rom that most of you use and maybe why...I don't want any vote....I don't think any chief would mind hearing opinions about their roms....Might help em gettin better .....Anyways, if the staff thinks that my question is wrong...the thread can be trashed

i use win 6.5 miri xtralight with winterface.
it is faster than the original roms, and seems to be more stable than duttys..

I think the 2 most common rom's used (correct me if I'm wrong) are Duttys & Laurentius26
Dutty has a number of rom's released with varied reports on each so its best to read each thread and make up your own opinion. Personally the best thing you could do is flash a rom, try it out and make your own opinion. I have flash3ed countless rom's and still haven't found the perfect one!

It depends which criteria you have. On rom is stable, another have more functions another a nicer interface another is faster another has more free space.
Write down your own criteria and check which ROM is the best for. Most of the users here are still searching (see Fallen Spartan)

Me too. I am back to stock, although I did compress manilla textures in it.
Even tried many radios, but back to stock radio as well.
Great thing are done with roms here, but they have IMHO to many oddities.
Still, HTC could learn a trick or two overhere....
I did flash my Elf (Old Touch) with a mature cooked rom, and I am happy with that.
No doubt there will be great Touch HD roms here, when I have bought my Pro2
I have also tried Laurentius26 ROM.It has a lot of features that i like (big start menu...i mean very big :-D)....but also found some bugs (i fixed one)...It's very fast and i like that
Duttys is a little to slow...i think...
I will flash right now the xtralight version of miri's 6.5 wm (now that viczena said that it's fast)
Greetings from Romania,

Very very duummm question? Or is it, where can i get Stock WM 6.1, i flashed mine, and i dont know wich one to use, they are all great, so i am heading back to original? So if you could please help me.
Well i'm just going along with whatever roms come out, so far tryed 6 of them a week apart, about same. I'm sticking now to 1 new rom a month.
Nice looking rom
So could you please tell me if there is any rom with nice interface? I've tried most of Duty's , MaryOne and much more, but I can't find any which has cool TF3D, every tab backgrund (I don't want to spend half of my day to resize a picture just to make a background for every tabs).
P.S. Sorry for my english
I have noticed most chefs have started using manilla 2.5 in the main cooked roms, From what i understand is that it is still in development and still very buggy. Why is it being used as a finished product??

I agree with your sentiment. Newer is not always better. Especially if the newer product only partially works. I guess it's just excitement over something fresh, and it's a great thing that the great chefs here are trying things out and trying to improve 2.5. For me, the best ROMS by far are still Touch_X 10.1 and Touch-IT 10.4. Stable, fast and you know everything will work.

why not?
its stable enough for me...
I tried a few manila 2.5 ROMs and loved the UI.
That said I'm back on pure 6.5 because of the bugs.
At least I don't until it finally support landscape mode...

pretty much the same reason you flashe new ROMs.
its cool cause its new.
just take some time and ask yourself why u allways flash new ROMs and not use your old ones whch are usualy perfectly running and mostly bugfree.
once u find the answer, u have the answer for your question too.
PS: havnt encountered any 2.5 bug yet. its just running for me.
i think its the same drive the reporters get their hands on each scoop.
i am for a more stable rom than newer ones.
but i always flash new ones just to get the feel of the "new" things to come,
see the potential of how far they can still go.
don't worry! chef's will stop using manila 2.5 soon because every1s gonna be fed up with it when 2.6 starts being cooked in.

Things are fine over here except for the weather but as you know we're used to it.....LOL. Take care mucker!
Let's be honest, the standard xperia rom was fine for everyday use...so we choose to chage to custom roms out of interest rather than necessity. Most of the chefs cook up roms for their own use, and then choose to release them. They can post what they want, we have no real right to demand this or that because we are not consumers...the service is free. Most chefs seem to find manila2.5 adequet for their everyday use, therefore they cook with it. Those chefs who are mainly cooking for the community with take in your feedback and hence offer various roms deoending on your needs and likes, I personally find 2. lovely to use and look at, and can't complain about the odd soft reset or glitch!
After i asked customer service again about an official release of wm6.5 for hd they told me that it is now under testing and they have not decided yet but it may get it after all (LETS HOPE IT WILL GET IT)

I would disagree , some cooked are far better in terms of speed and response. But many suffer problems due to mtty problem, flashing to much, and flashing back to stock fixes this and after that you are good to go stock, so every once in a while if you are an avid flasher you should flash a stock rom to avoid your mtty to clog up and cause freezes and hickups.
+1 on that. If stock roms were better than cooked roms, this site would have shut down before it even got started. Even back in the days before cooking 6.5 roms, there where 100's of avid flashers trying to get the best out of their device.

add me to the list of those who had to flash to a STOCK ROM to correct a freezing issue. i reflashed the custom ROM 3 times and my device's issue did not go away. i flashed a STOCK ROM, 2 hard resets, then flashed the SAME custom ROM and no problems to date. oh yeah, i'll be SHOCKED if HTC creates a WM 6.5 ROM for the HD. if they were to give us one, it would be interesting to evaluate performance differences.
lol

I believe you as i was speaking to a guy who works for Telstra the other day and he said that there will be a official Htc 6.5 rom for HD sometime in January in Australia.
To be honest, the day HTC officially release wm6.5 will be the day aliens make contact with earth
As for stock roms being better than cooked roms, obviously you've been trying the wrong cooked roms. I would never flash back to a stock rom for everyday use, just wouldn't happen. Cooked roms bring faster, more reliable, improved devices. The basic stock rom for the HD was a joke. After owning the Hermes, Diamond etc I was very disappointed with the stock rom and I thank all the great chefs out there for making the HD a better device!!
Also, I haven't had a freeze yet, so no need to flash back to stock....yet
I flashed back to stock because that is the fastest ROM i could find.. i tried all sorts of ROM's, Dutty's, LEO, NRG, Kwbr, Laurentius, etc.
But all were sluggish and very unresponsive. Now i have the stock ROM with Manila 1.3 and it is fast as hell..

Sorry but I have to disagree with this statement. Stock roms have always been slower. The only times our phones function as they are meant to is after a chef (long may they live) as cooked up a treat.
I have now had 6 different HTC's 2 x hermes, 1 x Touch dual, 1 x Kaiser, 1 x Touch Pro and now a Touch HD. Every single one of them has performed way beyond what a stock rom offered after I loaded a cooked one. This is just a simple fact.
well i do hope this is true, with official W6.5 ROM for HD, maybe then chefs can get their hands on updated / "official" HD drivers that are meant for W6.5...
Gheh, let's put some more oil on this bonfire...
I've flashed my girlfriends Topaz with the 6.5 stock rom and it outperforms my HD in EVERY aspect! I thought it could also be with my HD and i flashed the stock 6.1 NLD ROM and wow! I had forgotten how FAST 6.1 was. Compared to 6.5, 6.1 is ALOT faster and responsive. Now, what went awfully wrong with 6.5 here?
Bummer i'm so accustomed to manila 2.5 and the finger-friendliness of 6.5, because it's slow as hell. However, if HTC would release an official ROM, it'd be the first thing i'd flash back on my HD.

Goodluck.
I was in the same situation as you a few months back - I got pointed in the direction of a Dutty ROM by a work colleague, and I ended up trying a few EnergyROMs before settling with Topix which I reckon is very quick, but maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
So to pretty much mirror what BlueAnt said, only you can decide if a ROM is good for what you use your phone for.
I like Miri's ROMs because they are mostly 'clean' - it's up to me what applications/settings I put on, if any.
Everybody knows!!!
Everyone knows that Miri is the best (speed + smoth + stock) rom and Xannytech the most kind and complete, but nobody likes to say it to keep other chefs trying good roms ...

Hello
I'm from Brasil and bought my HD in France in the end of 12/2008.
Since then I'm flashing ROMs - most from Duttys.
The last one I flashed and still using is Leo Holy Grail R0 - Dutty's last rom for HD.
I starterd this trhead hopping to know if there is any new ROM that may worth the time of flashing again, as I think most of the guys here and like my self are flash addict .
I've been reading some posts and I'm intend to flash from Miri and Laurentius.
What do you guys think about these two ROMs and compare to Duttys??
Thanks again to everyone.
Miris roms fast stable
Xannytech fully with features and fine stablety
I recomend XannyTech GridEvo 2.4 21885.
Its really good..
Just test..
No such thing as best rom. Everyone has different tastes. I suggest you read a few threads and then try a few roms to make your own conclusion on which is best for you
