hello
I had Garmin QUE installed on my TyTN II and decided to try Garmin Mobile XT. So I uninstalled Garmin QUE and installed Garmin Mobile XT 4.20.50w
When starting it, it just showed the splash screen and exit.
I then removed it, soft-reset, removed all Garmin folders (phone and storage card) and installed again. Same problem, but I did SOMETHING that made it works. I guess it's because I runned the Storage Card\2557\autorun.exe file manually... I don't know exactly what I did (because I tried a lot of things). Then I installed the support files.
It was all fine, but when I put the sw.unl and patched Que.exe, it worked (detected the internal GPS), but the language was "out of sync" (for example, instead of "Exit" on the button, I could read something like "Go to"), probably because the different versions.
Ok, I then uninstalled Garmin Mobile XT, deleted all Garmin directories again and installed version 4.10.40w and now it doesn't open anymore. Keep getting the same problem as this guy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-348003.html
Data type misalignment at program address 0x03F966C8 in background thread NULL (Main InitInstance)
He solved it by hard-reseting.
Anyone have any other idea on what I should try?
I know it's not incompatibility with my SD card, because it worked before... and I also didn't find any entries for "Garmin" on the registry.
Thanks
well
I decided to hard-reset it, just to get Garmin Mobile XT working
but guess what... it still doesn't, same error
it seems it was solved on http://www.pdamobiz.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=111663&PN=1&get=last
at least the asker made a smiling face, and I got to translate the end of his message as "thanks very much"
but I don't know what was said
if anyone can translate it, please let me know
thanks

I'm running 4.20.50w w/o any issue, so goodluck w/ your warez.
I tried the 4.20.50w, but have the same problem
Do not request or discuss cracking or Warez on XDA-Dev it breaches our rules. If you do banning will follow.

iGO 8
For people who have a HTC Diamond and iGO 8 not getting working.
Install procedure:
1. Unrar the content of the archive (2577 & iGO8 folders) into your Internal Storage
2. Start autorun in your phone
3. After starting up the program delete the 2577 folder from Internal Storage
OR
1. Unrar the content of the archive (iGO8 folder) into your Internal Storage
2. Rename application.dat to iGO8.exe
3. Open SYS.TXT file located in your IGO8 directory and edit the following section to it:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
;app="Internal Storage/iGO8"
[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
TO
[folders]
app="Internal Storage/iGO8"
[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
Don't forget to translate "internal storage" in the phone user interface language. For example in french the line:
[folders]
app="Internal Storage/iGO8"
TO
[folders]
app="Stockage interne/iGO8"

I can't see POI in iGO8 even if i have in \content\POI:
If you have POI in the content with extension .kml, it wil not work because its an older version. The newer version of POI is with the extension .poi

Annoying Tap Sounds: In iGO8 Settings - Sounds -> Key Sounds you can put the button click volume to zero
Backlight Problem: In iGO8 Settings - Device -> Choose the Power Management Backlight Always On
iGO8 shortcut to the Touchflow3D Program list: make a shortcut of iGO8 to windows\start menu\programs and then you can see the icon there when adding a new shortcut in touchflow3D after choosing it:
Simply copy iGO8.exe, go to the folder in which you want to put the shortcut, activate the context menu with a longer press of the stylus on the screen and choose Paste as shortcut.
OR
You can create the shortcut on PC with an Active Sync connection.
1. Establish ActiveSync connection between the device and the desktop computer.
2. Explore the Mobile Device folder and browse to the folder which contains iGO8.exe
3. Right-click on the file and select Create Shortcut menu item. This will generate a shortcut (.lnk) file in the same folder.
4. Move or copy the shortcut if you want it anywhere else on the device.
iGO 8 VGA Display:

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="320_240"

skip_eula=1
enable_roadshadow=1
[map]
auto_nightmode=0

msnd.start=0
If you have some problem and fixed, let me know to add here on troubleshoot.
Don't forget to translate "internal storage" in the phone user interface language. For example in french the line
[folders]
app="Internal Storage/iGO8"
is:
[folders]
app="Stockage interne/iGO8"
It helped me a lot when i understood this.
Hello,
Sorry for my ignorance, but how to make a shortcut on the diamond.
Thanks,
Philippe
You can create the shortcut on PC with an Active Sync connection.
1. Establish ActiveSync connection between the device and the desktop computer.
2. Explore the Mobile Device folder and browse to the folder which contains iGO8.exe
3. Right-click on the file and select Create Shortcut menu item. This will generate a shortcut (.lnk) file in the same folder.
4. Move or copy the shortcut if you want it anywhere else on the device.
I also found an easier way:
Simply copy iGO8.exe, go to the folder in which you want to put the shortcut, activate the context menu with a longer press of the stylus on the screen and choose Paste as shortcut.
how is igo8 working on diamond? does it runs smooth? im know using tomtom7 but i want to try the igo8, just havent read any good reports about it on a diamond. maybe someone could post a couple screenshots
Thanks,
Yes, Igo8 run very smoothly, but I found the battery does not last very long...
Philippe
how much fps does it have while navigating? it seems that most vga devices have trouble with nearly all the navi software for smooth graphics. do you have any screenshots?
btw, battery is problem for every navi, but soon the 1100mah battery is available!!
How to check the fps?
Anyways, it runs more smooth here than with tomtom. Now I only have to find out how to get and sync the latest speed cams and it'll be perfect!

Any advice?

Its means or you installed an old version which is not working with Diamond or you're missing some files. Try to install from the beginning...

Did you deselected the Auto Time Correction GPS and Use Auto Time Zone? If yes then change now the Set Time Zone in Paris now.
Let me know if it helped...

yes did it, igo stays on Paris bt not the diamond.
In fact I noticed a weird thing, it is a s if the display changes but the time scal remains Paris.
I'll try to explaine.
When I quite IGO the go to the time parameters on the diamond, it shows budapest. If I select Paris and quite, it doesn't ask me to save, when I return It still shows budapest. Now If i reselect Budapest and quite, it asks me to save. Strange hein?

Strange, i had the same, but i fixed right now. In the Time settings change to +2 Minks and save it, then exit the Time settings. Enter again in the settings and change to Paris and save. Now it should works, although it worked for me.....
Hi,
I just got my new Diamond from Orange.
After playing with it a while, I tried to install several application such as GoogleMaps and TCMP ... But it appear that I can't install them on the Internal Storage even if I check the case when prompted !!!
Without any new app, I just got 30 Mo left on the phone memory ... so I won't last long with GoogleMaps, TCMP and TF3D Config with a new theme
Does anyone have an idea before I return the Diamond to the CS ?
You can simply move GoogleMaps to "/internal storage/program files" and update the shortcut.
I suggest using Total Commander which can create and modify shortcuts. Or you can simply use your PC when connected over activesync/mobile device center.
Ok. That will work for small software like GoogleMaps or TCMP.
But I don't think I can do the same with TomTom, C-Star or PlecoDict ...
And it'll be a bother to do that everytime I install a soft ...
I've just check the cabs file TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.CAB and GoogleMaps_compressed.CAB and it happen that they are going to be install on %ProgramFiles% ... is that why I can't install them on the internal storage ?
Did someone ever install GoogleMaps and TCPMP on the internal storage ?
Hi guys. I've got an MDA Compact IV and got it upgraded to a Diamond. But lost the 2577 folder and with it the icon for Copilot 7. It means that everytime I want to use Copilot 7 I have to go to File Explorer and Internal Storage. Does anybody have a .cab or something to help me with this? It would be very much apreciated.
PS: If I do a hard reset, would all the settings go back to what they were in the MDA Compact IV? Anyway, I like the Diamond look much better and would only go back if I could save the 2577 folder - and would immediately retreat back to the good looks and better funcionality of the Diamond.
Can you just recreate the shortcut to the Copilot executable? I'm not sure what you mean by "2577 folder".
2577 is the name of the autostart folder. several programs use it on storage cards, like igo, and garmin and a bunch of others.

Exactly! When I upgraded from T-Mobile to Manila the 2577 folder vanished from my mobile, apparently because it was in the device instead of the Internal Storage, where all the Copilot 7 maps are. And I need it now so that I can start Copilot 7 without having to access the Internal Storage first and look for the GPS before using it. The only way to have a Copilot icon at the Start button is by "pulling it" from the infamous 2577 folder. Does anybody have it in the form of a .cab? Can it be copied from one mobile and used in another? Help please.

Something that has annoyed me with the new TOM TOM after an update from TOM TOM Home it installed it on my main memory instead of storage card so therefore it now takes up so much room that I can't install any more programs. Any way of modding the installation cab to install on my storage card instead ????
Have searched and also tried using pocket mechanic to move whole program to storage cars but then the gps refused to lock on.

..when installing tt on internal storage map share will not work any more!
Move all files except tthome.bif (created when connecing to tthome) to the internal memory, create a Program (or Program files folder head memory. (I don't have an english version and am not sure of which name.)
Keep a copy of CurrentMap.dat and UserPatch.dat in the original folder.
Home works, everything else as before. Not sure if this is the nicest way, but it works.
P.S. You have to create a new shortcut to TomTomNavigator.exe in the programs folder, and delete the old one.
Thanks have sorted it by filling up my main memory with MP3's etc then trying to install the cab. It then says memory full do you want to install on storage and voila sorted.
