hey guys, I'm not satisfied with the Adobe reader that came with my AT&T Tilt. does anyone have a good pdf reader? I hate how I have to use my stylus soo often to move the page left and right to properly view the PDFs. My friends told me about how sweet Palm Reader was for Palm PDAs and how it would convert the PDF to maximum readability so that all the letters would fit to the screen properly. Is there a similar program for windows mobile?

I use Piscel Browser..we can zoom in/out..its like OPERA..
Foxit is an option
Not free, but good.

I looked around for Picsel browser to try, but I cant even find a way to buy it. Is it OEM only?
My Best
Try this one.
It seems to work best for me.
I use some kind of ported adobe reader off the Diamond that has text reflow, like opera. I don't think it uninstalls real well if you have an adobe reader baked into your ROM, but search around. Of the PDF software I've tried, it's decent. Try searching something like "adobe reader LE 2.5 Diamond".

Sadly, my favorite PDF reader is now Word Mobile!
If you go here:
http://pdfonline.com/pdf2word/index.asp
you can upload your PDFs and the website converts them to .rtf files you can download and view in Word.
They increase in size about 10x, but if you then resave them as .doc it cuts them in half (now about 5x original .pdf size.)
Images convert as well as text, and now the document can word wrap, to avoid scrolling, plus you can edit them.

Adobe reader 2.0 does not do reflow
Adobe reader 2.5 does
It's available as a CAB and once installed it will replace the embeded one.
Or flash a recent ROM that has version 2.5 already integrated.

I've discovered Opera Mini and love how you can zoom in to the web page pretty quickly. I was wondering is there an image viewer that works as smoothly as Opera's zoom but for images?
I find the default image view to be really slow for zooming into pictures.

i use ac´s s2v and it is very fast!

Piscel viewer is much better than that and reads almost every image/doc/adobe file you throw at it.
where can you find the cab version of the installer? I can easily find the exe version but i'm nowhere near a pc with activesync to install it

I did some search from my phone to find a way to open the files, and i've only come up w/ two options...Pictures and Videos program and resco photoviewer. Probleam is i can't find the photo's and video cab, and i dont want to pay for reseco. Are there any other free alternatives that i have?

PIE doesn't work...
i think i'm gonna stick w/ opera mobile....i just realized that plays .gifs just fine. i was hoping i could stick w/ a winmo/htc solution...but dah wellz. the only downsize to opera mobile is that it opens the gifs SUPER small, so if you need to you have to zoom in quite a bit.
when using pdf it doesn't scale correctly is there a better format to convert in so I can keep my images? epub (not a good choice)
Are you running as root? If so, download a different PDF reader as the stock one is quite horrible in my opinion. ezPDF seems to work well, as does the Adobe reader from the market.
I actually use the two that Riley mentioned. Adobe Reader's great for those big jpeg pdfs, it's quite fast. I prefer ezPDF's interface so I use it for smaller pdfs since it's not as fast..
Don't use the stock reader, it's really crappy.

Do you want to convert or just view ... as others in the thread say, for viewing use one of the viewers from the market .. for conversion you can use Calibre but if you convert to a format other than ePub then you need a viewer (reader) for that format .. i have found it best to keep .pdf's in that format but use a different viewer. Cheers.
thanks again guys
I guess either or on convert or view but when I convert to epub in calibre I lose alot of pictures and such, I am just looking to view. I thank you all just now getting back around to playing with it Saturdays are crazy with kids sports. But I guess in order to run anything on android part I have to put it on sd card so I will be doing that and looking for the readers you guys suggested .... Wow the Adobe PDF is just beautiful on this little guy may look into ezpdf soon.
You could use VuDriod as a pdf viewer. It works well for a free app. You scroll vertical and the rendering isn't to slow.
I tried this app and it works smoothly
You can edit and highlight words make notes and use free hands writing
However the screen is not fully optimized for xoom
Any other suggestions for editing pdf files?
RepliGo Reader is pretty good, using it right now on the Xoom and it looks great! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cerience.reader.app
It doesn't edit pdfs ... Please correct me if I am wrong :0) I don't think there is any pdf app currently that does editing.
Thank you
I meant annotation more then editing .. if this would answer your question

I prefer ez PDF Reader over all the others out there. Best we got so far in my opinion.
For those interested in ezPDF I have a video below going over it.
Thanks sleeplessninja
I love the video
+1 on EzPDF, the other PDF viewers still feel a bit buggy to me. By that I mean they don't utilize the entire screen, for some reason scroll up/down instead of left/right and the worst issue, long page loads. When I say long, I don't mean a loooonnngg time, but long enough that you actually see it render from blurry to sharp. EzPDF doesn't do this, perhaps it pre-caches the next page and preempts the need to render in your face.
I've tested quite a few of the PDF viewers, and quite frankly I'm surprised Google didn't have it built into the Chrome browser like on the PC. Adobe has yet to release a HC version of the PDF Viewer, but I saw a thread earlier today that mentioned they were able to load the apk manually and get it to work. If you try to d/l it direct from Adobe, you'll get a flag stating your platform isn't supported.
I don't need annotations so much as would like a dedicated reader that utilizes the FULL screen, left/right page-flip, remembers where you left off in multiple documents and I do not want to see the page rendering before my eyes. For now, EzPDF fits the bill. If only they'd add a "night mode" to invert the colors so I don't burn out my retinas with the lights out.

There is a night mode on ezpdf and from what I can see so far it does remember where you left off with multiple pdfs. ezpdf has gotten better so I have switch back to it for now.
I ended up purchasing the ezPDF reader and it's great, much better than Adobe reader.

I agree, and for $0.99 it is super awesome.
Guys I need a good PDF reader. I use it to read Programming / coding related books most of the time. The conversion of such books to ePub isn't that good. So any good pdf reader out there ?
My problem is, font size will be too low when opened in PDF. Then I have to zoom in & zoom out, to turn to next page. Imagine this for books having 1000 pages :O
So suggest me a good PDF reader.
TIA
Adobe reader and ez pdf reader both have text reflow. That sounds like just what you need.
I have been using Moon Reader Pro for both PDFs and Ebooks... loving it thus far. Been using it for a few weeks. There is a free version as well, and it supports Calibre servers natively.

Oh ! How do I activate that ? I already have Adobe Reader installed
Open the pdf. On the latest version, click the view button (3rd from right on top bar) and select reflow text. It only works if it's a text-based pdf, scanned ones won't work.
^thank u ! It somewhat solves my problem. Are there any better solution for it ?
Give Mantano Reader a try.
