Hi all,
I've a tytn II PDA phone with Hyper Dragon III rom
From 3 day I've problem with battery, draining very fast from 100% to 60 % in 10-15 minute. no application running in backgrund.
I've resetted terminal (hard) but the problem not solved.
I've restored the PDA with the original radio and rom but nothing!
I've purchased a new battery but the same! The battery draining fast!
Today for expample from 90% to 80% in 3 minutes but if I restart the phone
the battery return to 89%!
Anyone have a solution for this problem! Exist a software to permit the battery calibration?
Many Thanks
Battery calibration is simply done by running it down completely until the phone shuts off by itself. Then remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, insert again, repeat. If the phone shuts off again in less than a few minutes you're done, plug the charger and recharge the battery fully until the green light is on.
It may have to do with the radio version you have on the device.
I recently tried that ROM on my device along with several others and ended up having radio 1.70.19.09 and battery life was horrible, just HORRIBLE! I flashed just the radio to the version that was on the device from new. Give radio 1.65.21.18 a try. I now have awesome battery life.

I love that my Wizard's phone radio won't shut off even when the battery is at 1%. It's been that way on all different roms wm5 and wm6. It gives me extra time. I hate that my Tytn and BlackJack will shut off my phone radio when it thinks the battery is too low.
Does the Kaiser shut off it's radio? I hope not.
I had been using my Kaiser to browse the Internet thru 3G data until it has 1% of battery. So I don't think Kaiser will shutdown Radio when Battery is critical.
Maybe wheb idle the case may be different, However I constant run into battery has less than 5% situation and everything still works. (I am a super heavy user)
Hi
Got an extended battery for my G1 a few days ago from ebay.
The problem is, the phone doesn't recognized it after I switched the battery. I had the same charging % as the previuos battery right after I changed it (even though I never charged it) and the max use time in Battery time lite is the same....
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Nati
bad phone ? my ext batterys work fine from ebay
is there any way I can be sure ?
Maybe it a firmware thing ?

I had similar issues when I first got an extended battery (Seidio 2600mA). After performing the steps below, I had no problems at all. I hope it works for you.
Try a COMPLETE drain and recharge cycle, a couple times.
Run the battery down until the phone shuts itself off, restart the phone and let it run until it shuts itself off again. Repeat until it will NOT boot anymore. This will take a surprisingly longer time than you think. Load up your music player, youtube via 3G, etc... kill that thing.
Once the batter is so dead that it can't even load the splash screen for a boot charge it up, but do not turn it on. Let it charge up to full for a few hours (usually four will do it) and turn it on. If it's not at 100% yet, let it charge for a while longer. When it's at 100% take it off the charger and run it down again like before. Run it until it is totally dead.
After a couple cycles like this, you shouldn't have any problem with your phone and battery giving accurate charge status results and operating as it should.
I've read, from a few sources, that between the internal monitoring on the battery works, and the way the G1 reads the battery state, that this complete drain and recharge cycling helps to establish baselines for "empty" and "full" and keep them synchronized. If your phone has never seen an extended battery and the battery was at partial charge when inserted, it may not have been able to accurately gauge the minimum and maximum extents and give faulty readings based on prior battery data.
That could be wrong, and I don't know for sure. But, a complete drain and recharge never hurts anyway, and in my case it actually seemed to solve the problem for me.
Good luck!

Hi
I have noticed when I soft reset my phone the battery drops anywere from 5% up to about 70%! It varies from rom to rom. If i plug it in and softreset it a couple of times the battery goes up to around what it use to be. If it makes a difference I flash roms alot and don't usually install to many applications.
Is this normal at all or is my battery faulty? It's only about 8 months old.
Any ideas? Tips I could try?
Thanks
Imran
you know, i have the same problem when installing, touch x legendary rom, battery is about 96,96% but when i install that rom, battery drops down to 8,7%, i just plug in power for second, and battery jumps to 98%, and then all working fine...
The way phones and other devices display their state of charge (%) isn't always accurate, hence why it jumps back up 5% after plugging it in. I don't think your battery is unreliable, it's just reporting the wrong percent of charge...
I see. Mine is more like 50% so I guess mine is just really wrong! any ideas for fixing this?
Also i have the typical xperia x1 problem were it thinks the headphones are plugged in for the last 4 days. I have plugging and unplugging the headphones in heaps but it doesn't seem to work
Thanks
I have the same problem.
Phone has one year and 8 months.
Wine phone or battery?
I just got exact problem this morning
I agree with comment above, I think it just battery indicator not accurately represented battery state.
I also noticed the problem happened when I get my phone idle for a while
I was just going to start a new thread about this kind of thing. My phone's original battery has run out at anywhere between 0 and 30%... it tends to go for a couple of days if I don't use the phone much. I've tried recalibration and it doesn't really help. I thought that was bad, but I just bought a backup battery and it's even worse... yesterday it went from 100 to 50% over half a day on standby, then I used it for about ten minutes and it just went off! At 50%!
I was only expecting rubbish life from the cheap battery but at least report the charge properly so I have a chance! Old phones could always do it... why can't one that cost hundreds of pounds when it was new?
I take it there's nothing you can really do?
So ... I have 2 problems that are buggin my Capi.
1) I cannot reach full charge. I have reset calibration, tried to power cycle, charge both on and off etc. Once in a blue moon the phone charges up to 100, but most of the time it tops off at ~85% ... Today it seems stuck at ~65% (yikes!!)
2) Once in a while if I am under 40% and I freeze or simply reboot, I loose almost all my charge coming back in the red, with "plug in" notifications.
New battery is not expensive (recommendations? 1500mah? 1600mah from I9000? 1800mah from SGSII? ... thoughts) .. but I want to rule out any and all software issues before working on hardware ...
Thanks for any help ...
I am running Senedipidy VII with all (kernel, modem, etc) "stock" to that ROM.
Thanks
have you tried flashing stock? If you flash stock, or go to a different rom, and still can't get a full charge, or your battery dies way too quickly. I'd suggest a new battery. I got a 1800mah battery from the sgs2 epic and it's perfect. Battery easily lasts all day. only $20
Hi guys, I just want to share with you a problem I encountered using 2 original Sony Battery BA900. I have 2 batteries, both original. Both of them fully charged, 1 battery inserted into my phone and 1 as back-up. After my battery discharged up to 10, 20 or 30%, I will try to change to my back up battery. After changing it, the phone dispalys the same battery charge level with my first one, for example before I removed the first battery, the charge level is 10%, changing into a new one that is fully charged to 100%,it will also show 10%. The battery will continue to drain up to 1% and will stay there for several hours. So that means, the battery is really fully charged but the battery icon shows a wrong level.
However using another local battery (not original from Sony), I will not encounter this problem, meaning after the original battery drained up to 10%, I will change to a locally made battery that is fully charged, it will show 100% on the battery level.
Note that any ROM that I use, Stock or Custom ROMS available for TX, I will encounter the same problem using 2 original batteries.
Is there anybody who encountered the same problem with me? Any suggestions to fix this?
Thanks
I see someone have same issue like this.they call it normal
the way to solve that when you change new battery you have to wait 20-30 sec then put the new battery on.

I tried to do it, but still I'm observing the same problem. I even waited for few minutes before I put the new battery inside my phone. The only way it can show the normal readings of the battery level is when I charge it for a few minutes, if the battery level of the previous battery on my phone is 10%, changing it to a fully charged new battery the phone will also show 10%, after charging it for a few minutes, it will suddenly jump to 100%.
I hope Sony can come up with the fix with this because the unbranded batteries can work really well.
Thanks.
I have the same problem with Mugen Power Battery. I think that the battery meter is not working fine and I hope that Sony can fix it.
my xperia x10 had the same problem a couple of times the battery off instead of a hard way of inserting normal if you want to try
