A nice looking german ROM available? - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

Hey Experts
I´ve got a P4350 from EPLUS/Base and I tried to install the M2D and many other today plugins, but most of them wont work (causing in speed and storage space) most of my programs are on my 6Gb SD but the OEM-Storage on the phone is hardly limited!
So my english seems not sooo bad (I hopse so but it would be much more comfortable to me to use a ROM in german language!
Which kind of ROM would be recommended by you experts?
An additional question:
I installed youtubeplayer and it is not able to play the videos without stocking and some smaller breaks between - is that causing in the slow CPU-speed?
What can I do against that of is is it fixed in any way in the other roms?

Wanted: German VGA Phonepad

Hey,
I´m reading on this Forum for a while now and i used the search also, but i can´t find a german gersion of Phone Pad/ Intelli Pad! I don´t like the preinstalled keypads, i think they are too slow.
I would be very happy for any help, thnx so far!
Hi,
which files you need exactly?
I would prefer a cab file! To get a keypad working wich is faster than the orginal! I got this keypad on my other wm-phones and was very happy with it!
I´m looking for Phonepad VGA resolutin with german T9
Would like this too. i'm using the PhonePad/ IntelliPad for years now, and it's really disappointing that i cannot use it on the diamond any longer.

Install 1.93 ROM Default Theme on Vodafone Touch Diamond?

Guys,
New user - very impressed, found lots of good stuff here - hoping someone can help with this one:
I have had my Vodafone Touch Diamond for just over a month - very nice phone, awful speed!!! I hate the Vodafone default theme, so I had installed the default black one that I found here - very nice looking theme!!
Now I have just upgraded to the 1.93 Vodafone ROM, and the phone finally runs at a half-decent pace - problem is the nasty Vodafone them is back. I then re-installed the old black theme I had, and it has slowed the phone right down again (in fact slower than it was on the old ROM, and some graphics weren't as good) - it looks like the 1.93 ROM has a newer version of Touchflo (or is it the theme?). Basically, the phone, on the settings screen, says it is running Touchflo 3D version 1.1.34574.1_1630.38. It clearly is different, as the animation is less, and there are subtle changes (alphabetical index when selecting country or town in Weather, for example).
I would rather have the newer TouchFlo (the losses in animation are worth it for good performance).
So the question - anyone know where I can get the updated black Touchflo software for the 1.93 ROM? I appreciate I could flash a non-voda ROM into the phone, but would rather not - don't want to lose my Voda sat-nav, for instance.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated, guys.
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul From Swindon,
I'm Nathan From Oxford lol....oh the hatred (football Terms)
I'm using the vodafone ROM and i installed this great Diamond TF3D Config Tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749
I then also got the Black Diamond Theme, can't remember the link for that and saved it to my internal storage.
I then used the Config tool to install the black theme.
Its fairly quick and keeps the extras like sat nav etc.
I did try installing the new HTC ROM however it DID like you say removed all the settings and the vodafone extras. so it took me about an hour to find and install the Vodafone one again.
Annoying!
Also in Oxford
hi guys, Ralf here also in Oxford. I've had my Diamond for about the same time and been playing with some of the tweaks to try and speed it up. Interestingly I bumped into a guy in Carphonewarehouse the other day who was the Microsoft Trainer for the Diamond. He was great and spent about 20 mins showing me around some areas of the phone. The unit he was running was not Vodafone branded and was so amazingly quick. I've managed to up the speed a bit but it's still slow in comparison to the unit I saw the MS guy with.
To be honest I've been very wary of trying one of the other ROM upgrades as I don't want to brick my handset or loose the Vodafone Sat Nav etc.
I just looked and my handset is on ROM 1.37.161.2 dated 26/6/08.
Can you please point me in the direction of where you got the latest Vodfone ROM from and how easy it to apply it (I should also add that I'm using a Mac not a PC so if there is some PC based tool then I'll have a small problem using it).
Thanks
Ralf
heres the link for the official vodafone ROM update LINK
its a piece of cake to install, but not sure about using a mac!
just a quick thought about the vodafone sat nav;
once you've clicked through the initial link, it just downloads a cab (installation) file,
which is easy enough to find and copy through active sync onto your computer for safe keeping.
Thanks
Cheers for the info and link there, I managed to download the installer and am just waiting now until the new PC laptop I ordered for my wife arrives at the weekend so that I can give it a go.
Thanks
Ralf
In Finland here. I want to use the official ROM as well, but my provider doesn't have one available, and the HTC Europe site tells me that the ROM updater is not for my device.
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
I am a registered e-club member, with the serial number registered. How can I get the ROM properly? Or if I install this one from Vodafone, will it affect my phone somehow?

Hi Nwilko,
Did you have to install HardSPL before flashing original HTC rom?
Hi Guys,
Thanks for your thoughts so far - sorry, been off-line all week.
Nathan, thanks for your thoughts - this is what I tried doing, but when I installed the defalt black theme from this site via the config tool, it went incredibly slowly, and lost some of the new features in the TouchFlo system, such as alphabetical indexes on the weather, and seemed to return some of the aminations that had been taken out - it was taking up to 5 seconds to scrol between main screens, much worse than before - I also noticed I couldn't read some of the text.
I guess what I could do with is the Touchflo software from the 1.93 ROM update. It, I assume, exists as a cab that installs when you first switch on a non-branded phone after a ROM update. I am guessing that default one already comes with the black theme, and has the speed and menu improvements.
I have tried to live with the Voda theme for the last week, but there is no getting away from the fact that it looks terrible. The whole phone just looks so good when the black theme is applied.
I am tempted just to try and install the HTC ROM and scrap my Voda one. I really didn't want to lose Sat-Nav - I agree the link on the Voda ROM just downloads a Cab file, but I am worried it won't activate - does something in the ROM tell it that ot's on a free subscription, or does the website activate it from the mobile number - I don't want to pay 4.99 per month for it! Anyone tried it?
Thanks
Paul
Guys,
Gave up on trying to get a newer black theme for my Vodafone TD. Bit the bullet, and installed Hard-SPL, and the latest factory ROM (thanks in large part to the exceellent info on this site!).
So far all looks good - nice and quick, lovely black theme once more, nice speed, and newer radio ROM too (the new Voda Rom still had older radio version).
Fingers crossed, it seems much better - and because I kept the Vodafone Sat-Nav CAB file, re-installed it and it seems to work fine!!
Coolio!!

I will install this rom

very good comments .I don't have time to do it now I am travelling abroad. I will be grateful if someone try it on vodafone devise, and rate it.
so, does anyone have the default black tf3d theme from a 1.93 rom?

yes i am also interessted maybe something like jake did with an uk rom Jack's V1.0"1" WWE please someone start todo it, i am dont know that things , maybe i should try it out hahaha

Congrats. No wonder why the wording look so familiar.
Actually, the error msg could have a easy workaround by making a faked panel executable w/ something like QuickMenu. But since the lite image is just my stepping stone for full image and I will have the panel installed anyway (by UC automatic install instead of wasting rom space), I will just leave it as if.
jake can you describe how to exchange nf to nf 3.5 maybe you can help him, i really like your work jack

Can I just take the ...nf35 folder or what it's called from your rom jackleung and remove the one without 35? or is that language dependent? Just a quick yes/no would be great
I played a bit around with the phone and my impression is that jackleungs rom is quite a bit faster, don't know if that's because of the panels or the registry tweaks, but i doubt I can do much abaout it, for that I just don't have enough knowledge of how this whole WinMo stuff works
thx for it

Yes, you can replace the original netcf folder w/ mine.
Removal of panel helps a bit, and there are lot more other tweaks and stuff removal to squeeze more speed from x1. You can use SPB benchmark to get benchmark result as well.
I realy like this Rom thanks a lot, bute there´s no Radio Panel can you provide it as a .cab file?
seems like the panels are there but not linked anymore???
regards cHarOn
Only the "Sony Ericsson Panel" and "Fish Panel" are there but not linked (I don't use them). The others are removed/not installed. But I will upload the cabs today, so you can install them if you want to.
can u do a much lighter version? no panels for example?
No sry, I can't.. I just don't know how and don't have too much free time at the moment either. This rom is just a "first aid" kit for those who want to get rid of the stupid mediafile demos etc. taking up their free space ;-)
I would be glad if some experienced member could take over the "development" of german customized roms, but so long I think this is better than nothing ;-)
The hard spl doesn`t work - Yes it should go to tricolour screen now and say 0.52.OliNex.MFG (this is SSPL!).
but then the error message is coming and no
"Hard-SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done"
Any idea ?
Greetings from Frankfurt
Thx,
Where can I download the HTC Taskmanager with the german language (mui?)
as cab-file?
Karsten
i found an working cab-file.

I use your ROM since the 1st release and I love it
Are you going to release an update the next time with R3A or the new WM 6.5? If yes, i will wait for your great work!

nX1i Lightspeed vs Touch-it v4.0 Landscape vs Generic RA10

Hi everybody. I have a X1i that I have been using for 4 months or so. I really hated the stock rom. I lurked around this forum for a little while after reading about it somewhere (forgot where). Saw all these glorious roms that I was afraid to try cause I had no idea was HARD SPL was, until this morning when I flashed the TOUCH-IT 4.0 Landscape rom. I have a few questions if you guys can help me
Im fairly new here so I hope you can forgive my question if its been asked before. I searched back a dozen or so pages and couldnt find a similar thread.
Which ROM is most user friendly and stable so far? The nX1i Lightspeed or Touch-IT Landscape 4.0 or the Generic RA10 UK rom?
Currently I am using the Touch-IT Landscape by ITJE and i love it. Much better than the original rom my xperia was shipped with. Video is noticeably better.
However, if i do not need touch-flo, should I use the generic RA10 rom or nX1i rom instead?
Also, for youtube, i kept reading that I need to install the youtube.cab from blackstone. Where can I get this cab? I've tried installing previous youtube.cab but I guess they were the wrong version cause youtube doesnt work and the panel does not show up.
previously I tried cabs located

You can find the correct youtube.cab and the panel for it in my collection topic (in my signature), it should work fine on WWE roms installing the cab first and the panel after.
If im already using TOUCH-IT v4.0 Landscape, do I still need the WVGAFix?

WVGAFix is for such applications that cannot run in WVGA only in QVGA,VGA or other. You can change the screen's resolution on the X1 with this, so you might need this for some apps.
despite to itje's great work, new tflo3d isn't 100% stable and some crash happens. If you need a full and stable rom stay with itje' 3.5 or something else but don't choose a rom with new manila landscape, we have to wait a bit more before using it every day
Also, generic rom sucks, now we have many great rom from our cookers, choose one of them and be happy
Unfortunately, which is best is very hard to answer because everyone has different requirements and perceptions of what is good.
I have tried Jack's roms, itje's roms and now the nx1 rom.
For me the most important thing is my perception of responsiveness. I also want to have a highly customizable device and therefore tf3d is not ideal. Given this, the nx1 rom seems to be the best for me. All the roms seemed reasonably stable but I am still playing around with it so much that it is difficult to know whether any problems are caused by the software I am loading or the rom.
The best thing to do would be to read the comments people are leaving regarding the different roms and then if you like the sound of it, give one a go. Unfortunately this is a time consuming process.
d0z3y, can You paste here link to nx1 rom or itje ?
And question from me:
Is there available rom, that it is stable, very fast (graphic too) and have generic panels or it's nice to be a SPB panel or Manila HD panel ?
Please help me, bacause i've found difficulty with understanding every information about roms in topics. I dont speak english very well.
Can You answer me with simple english ?
TIA
You should just look in the route forum of this thread and you can find them all there, and many more.......

Here you will find all available Roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=477801 including links to nx1 rom or itje.
I can personally advice you to try all different roms. In 1 day you can flash about 4-5 Roms, play with them and understand which one is your best. This is the only way to really understand what you need.
However, up to me:
- jack v2.1 is the best "naked" Rom to start from. It has almost nothing, so you can fully customize it.
- Jack v2.3 has tf3d, so you get smooth graphic but it sometimes freeze.
- nx1 is like jackv2.1 but with some apps in, panels preloaded and stable/fast.
So, as you can see, and as everyone told you, you have to try them to find the most suitable. It's like a pair of shoes: you ahv eto try them to tell which one fits you.
[email protected] - thank You a lot ! Now i undestand it.
Can You tell me- is there a huge difference between new standard soft (R2A) and these roms like nx1 etc.? With stable, fast, and freeze/do not freeze?

My 2 cents:
Standard (Stock) ROM R2A is stable and acceptable.
Jack v2.1 is optimezed to be fast & stable but you have no programs.
Jack v2.3 & nx1 are stable in 90% of cases and faster than sotck ROM, with a nice fluid interface.
Those are my "pair of shoes". I use them, because I want a stable, fast, fully customizable ROM.
Now just ask yourself: what am I looking for? do I want to search and install programs on my own, or just find them inside a ROM? I want a cool interface? I want to try the coolest, latest ROM out here (most probably unstable) or go for a stable ROM?
Answer yourself, and then go into ervey ROM post (you can do it, you'll just have to visit 10 post...), read the first three post with the description of the ROM and choose the one that best fit your answers.
That's all I can do, I can not tell you install this or that.

Thanks! You help me a lot!
My xperia come to me in Friday, here- in Poland i pay for it a lot of many... Now i had a HTC Kaiser and it's OK to me (with HyperDragon soft)
I prefer programs include a ROM, because I dont know where to find all of theme in Web (maybe can You help me? MP3 trimmer, new core player etc etc).
And the last question. In standard rom (R2A) and tweaks from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459328
Will i have this problem?:

I'll be pleasure to have a fast animation without "frame by frame" efect, fast and smoothly...
It is possible in standard rom with/without these tweaks or I must to change ROM (for ex. Jack v2.3) ?
P.S. When I find a rom with [SWE] its mean that this rom are with only Swedish language, not English?

Wow... never ever seen an Xperia that slow. Mine has never been, I am sure that you will never experience that slow frame by frame effect, unless you are running 5 programs simultaneously (man, even a Core Quad extreme would slow down if you load 10 programs at one time!!!)
P.S.: Jack v2.3 doesn't have Panel Manager as default. It has Touch Flow 3D (TF3d). However, you can always install panel manager on your own.

imho panels by default are crap slow and unresponsive, it consumes a lot of ram. New upcoming version promises opengl sdk and should be better, will see... For now I get rid of panels as soon as possible every time I flash

I was surfing ioicn.com.cn and I saw there some posts about WM 6.5 for S730 but I can't speak Chinese and all I could do was register and then search the posts. But I couldn't understand if there was any English ROM. Anyone able to help?
the rom build by ccwav is chinese and english, but it is incomplete (file explorer, bt and many other features are still in chinese) anyway it is a nice and cool rom.
I downloaded this ROM that nhatientri mentioned, cooked it without making any modifications and it installed flawlessly. It is in English totally but no Bluetooth at all, this is the first thing I spotted. Let me check if there are other bugs.
BTW, anyway to get the bluetooth back?

Well, I speak Italian, Greek, English, Albanian and some Turkish and French. If you know any of the following languages, I am ready to help you bring it in English.
As for my yesterday's test on HTC S730 with the 6.5 ROM, I decided to go back to 6.1 until next convincing ROM.

i saw it this morning... and now i'm going to test it
but
i'll be very happy if you could cook a rom with 256MB ROM size and without AGPS/GPS features (the western wings haven't gps but have more rom size)
anyway thank you for the up, i'm running to try it
Dear friends, I downloaded the ROM from the link here http://www.ioicn.com.cn/forum/viewthread.php?tid=358850&extra=&page=1 and don't ask me how I registered, I don't know Chinese and I worked a lot with google translation. The forum couldn't log you in through google translator. Anyhow, long story short, I downloaded the chinese 6.5 ROM and I am amazed. The home screen is fantastic and i could change the language from Chinese to English through the settings. There are still programs and items in Chinese but it's not a big deal. You can find the english versions of the programs on line.
I am going to play with that a little bit now. I'll write later if I find any bug or whatever.
are you able to dump/edit/modify/repack that rom? maybe removing agps ? i have tried several times but i am a dumb ^^
Nope, I'm sorry. I don't know how to do it. I renamed every Chinese filename in English and downloaded the English versions of some of the programs.
Until now, from what I see I can say the following:
1. Bluetooth Manager is in Chinese, I'll try to push some English version from my other HTC Vox WM 6.5 if possible.
2. Internet Explorer is for touch screen models I guess. Very difficult for me to operate it like this. I think I will try Opera or whatever for a change.
3. There is File Explorer in English but somehow, the cooker decided to put the shortuct of Resco Explorer only in the menu, which is in Chinese by the way.
4. GPS seems to work but I can't get more than 1 satellite everywhere I try.
5. Quick GPS tries to download data but nothing downloads even on WiFi or over ActiveSync.
6. Homescreen of T-Mobile looks very cool, I like it a lot
7. A lot of tweaks in Chinese, hieroglyphs to me
I will see if I spot anything else. Nevertheless, the ROM is OK, I didn't regret the update (yet).
allright, nevermind...
i have solved some issues (in an arranged way)
2 if you use JZSmartMort you can set (in the browser options) the "OLD VERSION" of IE , it's work but is still slow imo
3 install your own resco explorer or make a new link to the "original file explorer" than replace with the older one (chinese resco)
4-5 i think that one satellite is few for connect to a AGPS so agps/gps feature is useless (if don't have the gps version of wings) (can't try with an external receiver, for now, at my home there are no signal at all)
6-7 the last foledr in start menu conteins some extra tweak, like different layout for menu (glossy bars and selections, the third is PINK!), a selector for different tshres.dll (icons in the iconbar, my favotite is #8), a selector between the 6.1 and 6.5 home layout (maybe with delicacy homescreen) and a selector for the dialer pad (first, grey htc, second blue...)
how much RAM free you get at the boot? and after some while?
br
Also, I can't find Java. It looks it is not integrated or smth. I don't use it anyways, just wanted to try Opera Mini....
Well, I have it loaded up with programs so I don't know if the readings are accurate. Anyways, where do I check the free RAM?
