WM6.5 Beta on my Diamond? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Is it possible to download the Windows Mobile 6.5 Beta for my HTC Diamond?

In short; yes. You should've just read the threads in the ROM section, and you wouldn't have had to make a thread about the obvious. On the other hand. It's still a beta. There are issues. I tried it, and I will wait at least until a new build arrives.

please look before you ask

That's bull. The ROM doesn't care on your OS, you can use MacOS for all it cares. If you have flashed a 6.0 ROM before then just flash a 6.1 ROM.
Note: you will have to Flash a 6.1 compatable radio, if it isn't included in the ROM.
If you hav'nt flashed before, read the Getting Started Link in my sig.
Ta,
Dave
What 6.1 ROM are you speaking about? One of the many cooked ROMs found in this forum or the M$ official one?
the microsoft rom, i have never done a rom burn just read up on it and consider it. kinda want to let my phone be atleast a month old before i start to burn new roms.
As far as I know the M$ 6.1 ROM has not been released but just officially announced and it's up to the manufactures to release it. I could be wrong but thats how I read it.
you are looking at a page for Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Vista, a desktop interface...
...not Windows Mobile 6.1
Here's a really naive question - if WM 6.1 hasn't been officially announced or released (least of all for the Kaiser) where do the various cooked versions of it come from, and how does anyone know that they're definitely the full 6.1, and not just some prototype-like sample? I mean, isn't there a chance that the actual 6.1 that MS announce and HTC start releasing for phones will be different?

That's what I did. I think this way is best cos when you flash you REALLY feel the speed increase
But just for clarification, as boomermax said, were you looking at Windows Mobile Device Centre? If so, this is Vista's version of ActiveSync, ActiveSync can no longer be used in Vista.
Inquiry About Windows Mobile 6.1
I sent HTC an e-mail inquiring about the ROM release of Windows Mobile 6.1 for the AT&T Tilt and this was there response.

Also the e-mail I sent to AT&T asking the same question, was told that the manufacturer (HTC) would be providing a ROM update if there was one... So apparently it's still a mystery!
I'd just like to point out that theres an "official" wm6.1 rom out there that vodafone use...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365058
...just incase you didnt find it before. it comes with the correct radio, and even tho its "vodafone", ive been using tmobile on it fine, so it doesnt matter if youre not using voda

I see official ROMs all over XDA!!!What makes this one any different? When I see an Official ROM from the manufacture, then I'll be happy....
but why would a company such as vodafone not use an official rom?
or are you implying that this was never from vodafone?
but yea, if micropoop pull their finger out and release wm6.1 or even wm7, that would be nice...

I'm just saying that if I goto the Manufacture or carriers web site and see the official Update, then I will be happy and believe it's official. Most of the WM6.1 ROMs in this forum have come from leaked versions or something like that. I think It's top secret!
ahhh i see what you mean...
...tho, i'd be very suprised if vodafone actually put up useful information/updates on their site

New TouchFlo and WM 6.5 for Diamond

Now I am reposting this seeing the original got closed.
It seems that no one here can read.
For those that "answer" the closed thread, you do realise that you only answered half the question.
I know that 6.5 is out in beta I also know how to find that in google. BUt I did first and foremost mention the new TouchFLO 3D being shown of on the new Diamond2 phones.
So if someone apt in actually reading can help answer my the other half of my question then I would be most apreciative.
here is my oroginal post.
Hi everyone,
Just wondering if and or when the new TouchFlo will be available for Touch Diamond 1 owners. Also the same regarding WM6.5.
Not trying to be pushy, I am patiently waiting for both to update my phone, but more so wondering at what stage these 2 progs are at.
I have google etc, but it shows EVRYTHING TouchFlo.
Please follow the search links provided in the other thread.

New to Flasing Roms

Hi,
I've been reading through a few posts on the forums and am considering taking the plunge. One thing i just wanted to see if anyone could clear up for me is
1) Is any roms now using the RTM of windows mobile 6.5
2) I have a UK O2 Ignito which looks exactly like the HTC Diamond. As not sure is exactly flashing any roms for the HTC Diamond will this fail?
3) If there is roms compatable with the Ignito and is using the final RTM of 6.5 which roms are recommened and proceedures to do.
Thanks in advanced to any answers
MK

All the answers to your questions regarding flashing are here.
As for WM6.5, they are still a little buggy for me at the moment. I'd wait a while until all the little issues are ironed out. Of course, if you don't mind the odd little bug here and there, try a few yourself.

WM 6.5 from HTC? or Best Cooked?

Hello, is there an Official 6.5 rom from HTC without any added software or anything?
and if not, then what is the best and fastest 6.5 cooked rom out there?
Thats exactly what I was looking for as well.
Just 6.5 with no extra apps, fast as you like and all the HTC skinnage!
Thanks.
WM6.5 will not be released by HTC for the HD.
Therefore any 6.5 ROM for the HD must be cooked, however minimalist.
Try this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578338&highlight=vanilla
If you had done a bit of research beforehand you would have realised that HTC aren't releasing wm6.5 officially for the HD, so you won't be getting it.
However search these forums and you'll find lite roms as other people have requested this!! I see one link has been provided above.
Also to ask for best cooked rom is an opinionated query which is generally frowned upon in XDA as it created endless long threads with no solution because everyone has different opinions!!
