In my opinion the fastest ROM is kwbr's TOUCH OF HD (my opinion)
Other opinions may be Dutty's V1.7 -- I havent used it but people say its fast!!
I use TOUCH OF HD and its ****IN FAST!!!

This changes within everyone device.... all depending on what apps u install yourself... what use you have your HD for. you should try all roms out, and try to see which one functions better for your needs, as they all have different speeds hehe, but for me, this is the speed chart.
1-Davie v-5
2-dutty
3-laurentius
are the speeds for me... however they are ALL AMAZING roms.... i think i dont keep em more than a week each... i keep swapping between the three haha

Well.. In my opinion...
Of the ROMs I have used lately... The ones I liked are...
- Davide V5 / HelloNasty
- Dutty V1.8 (if you do not install any 3rd party apps... it is fast).
- kwbr
- onkolog Lite ROM (obviously.. there isn't much in there except speed, you install you own apps.
- Laurentius 26
But like already mentioned... your preference and opinion would be quite different than mine. So, the best suggestion is... try out the latest version of every ROM for abou a day and I'm sure you would be as confused as we are and keep flashing ROMs every other day...
Personally for me, ROM flashing has become an addiction.

I will really like to know this too, as i have the same problem with Dutty's 1.8

The best ROM is the one you choose after trying them all. If you have a question specific to a ROM, then post in that thread.

Been away awhile - IYO, What ROM is best for Manila 2D? [Plz no negative comments]

Hey guys!
I've been away awhile and I was trying to find which ROM was the most stable for Manila...but there's sooo much to read!! Wow, a lot's been going on here.
I'll be honest, I just don't have the time to weed out the best rom...
If anyone is so inclined and can be nice and has been keeping up to date on the new ROMs, can you please care to direct me to which ROM you believe is currently the best?
Thanks for your desire to help me out!!

Well, im afraid to tell you but this is all a personal preference. Different roms have different pre-packaged software. There is no such thing as the "Best" ROM . Its which one is Best for YOU.
It takes all of 15 minutes to download and install one...... just see which flavor suits ya best
On that note, I use L26M2DV4 and its pretty nice. Ive also heard HDIII M2D is good as well.
I've been flashing like crazy... from G-DK4 to everything but my best pick is HyperDragon III Jade +Manila 2D
Super Fast no bugs so far, battery is good , GPS fast
btw
AT&T in San Juan Puerto Rico
Thanks for the vote karlospr!
Much appreciated
Gotta check out PDACorners Versions as well, it rates right at the top .

Rupy's is the best IMHO
I have been burning M2D's for some time, including NATF, PDACorner, & Hyperdragon, but have found that RRE V5.9 is the best out. I realize that some will complain that it has too slow of a startup time, but how often do you really reset your phone. It is EXTREMELY stable and is suprisingly lite for what you get. You can find it below:
Rupy's Thread
unfortunately Rupy has called it quits on TILT roms as he has gotten the fuze, but give it a shot, i am very happy with it.

Which is the faster ROM?

Hi All
I am on R3A at the moment, which has all that I need, but I still find it very slugish and want to move to a custom ROM. Can someone who has tried the ROMs below let me know which of the 3 runs fastest for everyday tasks:
Touch X ULTIMATE 10.0 EXTREME
Touch-IT v9
Windows Mobile 6.5 for the XPERIA X1 - PURE ROM
Thanks in advance for any help.
Touch x. It is almost a perfect rom, would be perfect if it had the touch it colors and vibration
Bare is best
If have been Flashing my x1 more than 50 times and found the bare sex1 rom (Windows Mobile 6.5 for the XPERIA X1 - PURE ROM) is the on with the least bug's
Hi guys
I dont mind the odd bug here and there. But which ROM runs the fastest in your opinions?

Mmm...sorry for jumping in but i notice there is no Valkyrie's rom in your list which i thinks it is very fast and bugless.I don't know why it not in your list, may be it lack of popularity or you don't like manila+6.5? Of course other roms are great too,but i think this one is fastest/smoothest.
Why don't you try it,it just take few minits to flash (remember to hard spl first),may be you'll love it.Cheers
haven't try Valkyrie's.. but from ur list, I think Touch it 9 and gtrab's WM6.5 is faaast.. Touch X has a lag here and there sometimes but quite stable I think...
I've found gtrab's barebone ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509891 to be pretty quick to be fair. it might slow down a little if you install some apps though, I'm relatively happy atm with it as it is, I've not yet installed much.

IMHO F4810 wasn't in the least bit rude... He practically welcomed the posters to the thread, stated that he doesn't mind some bugs, and reiterated his original question.
wm 6.5 pure xperia x1 without panel, youtube and HTC staff.
I can safely say that Touch X v10 fixed and Touch IT v9 have to split the throne. Touch X does not have the sms bug though so I'd go with that one for now, just to be safe. It's actually as fast as a stock Touch Pro 2 now, it you watch some videos of TP2 on Youtube in envy, you really need to flash one of these roms, because then you get that speed ^^
I would say "barebone" roms are generally faster. Xperia's performance has always been an issue for me, slow video playbacks, sluggish video recording, etc etc.
In my opinion Touch X v10 is fast but slows down at times, eg. dismissing notifications, setting panels etc.

Dissmissal of the "Message sent" is notoriously slow to get past - you can turn it off with Advanced Config though. Setting panels I don't know about, but panels are quite a slow software overall to begin with
Definitely Touch X 10 - very fast and stable...

Thank you. I think me trying to be polite was lost in translation as being rude, but you correctly point out what I was trying to do.
Thanks for all your comments. I guess I need to check out Valkyries ROM too. I think the best thing is that I try all 4 ROMs for a few days each, and see which is best.
One last question, if I back up my ROM (R3A) as it is. Will it save all my personal settings, customisations, and installs too. So if I dont like any custom ROMS, I can go back to the exact way it was?
Thanks

I agree, you weren't the least bit rude.
Anyway, please report back about your speed comparison.

This will be closed very fast. Been asked many times but usually what works for me may not for you so really a personal choice thing. Try a few and see for yourself.
Goodluck.
I was in the same situation as you a few months back - I got pointed in the direction of a Dutty ROM by a work colleague, and I ended up trying a few EnergyROMs before settling with Topix which I reckon is very quick, but maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
So to pretty much mirror what BlueAnt said, only you can decide if a ROM is good for what you use your phone for.
I like Miri's ROMs because they are mostly 'clean' - it's up to me what applications/settings I put on, if any.
Everybody knows!!!
Everyone knows that Miri is the best (speed + smoth + stock) rom and Xannytech the most kind and complete, but nobody likes to say it to keep other chefs trying good roms ...

Hello
I'm from Brasil and bought my HD in France in the end of 12/2008.
Since then I'm flashing ROMs - most from Duttys.
The last one I flashed and still using is Leo Holy Grail R0 - Dutty's last rom for HD.
I starterd this trhead hopping to know if there is any new ROM that may worth the time of flashing again, as I think most of the guys here and like my self are flash addict .
I've been reading some posts and I'm intend to flash from Miri and Laurentius.
What do you guys think about these two ROMs and compare to Duttys??
Thanks again to everyone.
Miris roms fast stable
Xannytech fully with features and fine stablety
I recomend XannyTech GridEvo 2.4 21885.
Its really good..
Just test..
No such thing as best rom. Everyone has different tastes. I suggest you read a few threads and then try a few roms to make your own conclusion on which is best for you

[Q] Can someone please help recomend a rom - Xperileo Freezing

Hi,
I recently downloaded the Xperileo rom off the xperia-unoff site.
I love the rom, its got a great interface and features. I really like the graphics of this rom and Id like to keep something like this, I think its called sense or manilla. I really dont know though its confusing.
There is one or twos problem however.
1. The phone keeps freezing, requiring me to open the back of it and use the reset button. This is dangerous as if my family calls, I may not receive the call. This absolutely needs fixing. Is there a stable rom that will not freeze or have these problems that has the same type of scrolling or a really nice GUI like this one I am using ?
2. The other problem is that the interface is pretty slow, with text messaging being really slow to respond, and menus freezing for a few seconds.
If someone could recommend a stable but attractive rom I would be very appreciative. Stability and usability are top.
Thanks
Christof
You gotta test yourself a couple of ROMs. That's the best answer.
I've tried almost every rom here.
Energy and Valkyrie are both overbloated and unstable. Xperileo is unstable as well. Almost every rom with manila sense is unstable slow and rendering it almost unusable.
Try the 826x rom, it's the best one and has most stability i've seen in a rom. ♥
Also touch x is pretty good if your looking for absolute speed on manila.

u sound like me a couple of years back..anyways..Wildchild's ROM (Unavailable here on XDA) is by far the most stable Manila (now called Sense UI) ROM.
However if u dont want a Sense UI (HTC phone interface), i would suggest XPURE III OR II.
PM me if u still have problems.
All the best.
the best solution for your problem is use the original r3a rom.fastest rom whithout any bug .stable .I've tried all xda roms, after that I back to r3a rom.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the replies I do appreciate it.
It sounds like Manilla is a bit unstable, which is not safe for me.
What about windows 6.5. Whats the most stable or a very stable rom with nice icons? Dont care about the manilla stuff compared to stability. Just need something that never freezes.
Thanks again
Cheers
Christof
You CAN have pretty stable Sense/Manilla interface ROMs.
It's just that they are pretty much hit or miss. One version can be stable and reliable and another, issued 3 days later (and having replaced the earlier version) can be a mess.
I just recently started flashing ROMs and my experiences have been good so far. I have mostly played with the beautiful ENERGY ROMs and some have been good, some bad.
The Sense UI may not be a speed demon, but is gorgeous and works (although something like SPB Mobile Shell might be faster - not as good looking though). But the true differnce for me is in the speed of programs running. For me they work MUCH faster under ENERGY ROMs then on the stock ROM. This is most noticable with my GPS software which was slow, laggy and unstable under stock ROM, while is very reliable and works great under ENERGY ROMs.
My advice is to just find a good ROM that suits you and keep it, rather then enter the constant reflashing cycle. Some Sense ROMs are very stable.

I find Russell Eclair XPure II to be a little slow compared with jerpelea's X2 port.
The only issue I have with jerpelea's ROM is the first times someone is calling me. I can' answer the phone and I have to pull out the battery. But after 1-2 days it works like a champ (without using Slideview, the X2 addition to panels).
If you want something fast and stable look for a clean ROM (like Laurenti's ROM, 23.08.2010 version used for 2 weeks with no problem, and really fast) or R3A ROM.
Cheers!

Try the Xpure III with the freeze fix given..It wil solve all your problems...I am using it myself...had the same problem as u..used the freeze fix and flashed XPure III NOT II...
I still maintain that Touch X 10.1 is the best rom out there.
It does exactly what I need. Great battery life, great speed and never had a freeze or SOD with it (EVER!).
Yes the graphics are a little outdated but I am willing to put up with that in exchange for the 3 above.

[Q] The Best ROM(s) on Touch Pro 2

Hi,
I am a newbie when it comes to smartphones and the rest. And this is exactly why I'd like to know what is/are the best ROM(s) on Touch Pro 2.
I'm currently using Windows Mobile 6.5.
The criteria should be:
- Visual effects
- Responsiveness (speed)
- Ease of use
- Minimal usage of the RAM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562773
this coming also from a newbie, which is using this ROM for a couple of months now. good luck!
There is no "best" ROM. It depends on your individual needs and preferences. Many people here generally frown upon questions like this, because its an insult to the hard work that the chefs do to create the custom ROMs, to recommend one over the other.
At the risk of contradicting myself a bit, I know the choice can be overwhelming for n00bs. So I will just briefly mention my personal experience. I used Energy for a long time, tried Deep Shining, and simplicity is my current favorite. But that doesn't mean that other ROMs are not great also. Valkyrie and Jackos also get lots of good response on these forums.
Thank you very much! I'll read through right away!!!
Oops! I didn't know I was trespassing. However, thank you for understanding me. I'll further my research using the names of ROMs you've given me. Thank you once again!
The fastest ROM I've ever tried was OndraSter's TouchFlo 3D ROM. Its probably the fastest ROM for the TP2.

Try the JackOS ROM, i'm a fan! It's stable as a rock and he added OCT, so your phone is overclocked to 710Mhz by default.
He is a perfectionist as he wants to minimize memory leaks (read: low mem usage).
I can really recommend his roms
Grtz,
FeareX
I too am new to Windows Mobile and found my ATT Tilt 2 a bit slow.
I've HardSPLed my phone, loaded all the different ROMS from NRG and after running them for quite some time, and screwing with them found that there are things left out that only the stock ROM provides....as in:
GPS
keyboard functions even after loading the keyboard fix it will not retrack.
Widgets that go missing after you have set them up....
Little things.....
I went back to the upgraded ROM form HTC.
I would suggest the same....
There's crudscraper which will free up some space and a couple of cabs that will give you 16 quick links and contacts but.......
I would suggest loading the basic HTC rom and purchasing SPB Shell.
Quite frankly, IT WORKS.
Later....
Go find the ROMs Wildchild builds. They are like stock ROMs but MUCH MUCH more stable and fast. Lean and mean. Link in my sig.
My 2 cents. Tried many over extended period of time from:
- simplest eras2r (but one of the most solid-like-a-rock with a good battery and performance) to
- Energy's huge variety of choices
- Wild Child's
- Simplicity's (was not very simple for me, had a couple of stability issues)
- etc. etc. etc.
Has never had a chance to actually try Jackos's. Just now tried Jackos's full s2 ROM. Flying, tons of storage and program memory, right programs, right layout for me. If this baby is stable, not sure will ever look for something else.
My personal opinion go with latest Jackos ROM, OndraSter did also meke some good ones, but no sense ...
I guess there really isnt too much to say anymore but just to try them all... The only thing i do suggest is making sure you do the "task 29" ( forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649191) between flashes just so u know ur getting the most purity from all ur roms. Different roms offer different things and as u go through there post the objectives of the roms. Another thing i suggest you try is, getting a rom like Jackos S2, disabling sence from the options and trying the android prj. But at the end of the day u find the rom that fits u!
What ROM cooked with Maxsense would you suggest to a newbie like me?
