hey guys i know guitar hero was an epic fail for our phone and tap tap revenge may be a long time away but the concept of the game should still be looked into. with so many clone guitar heros out there like frets on fire for example creating a clone shouldnt be that hard...and would most likely be better than the original. now im not a developer i outright sux with linux and etc but there are some gifted developers here and this should be an easy task and i know people can and will upload their own tracks so this could become one of the largest games on the g1 by far...just throwing this out there....
There is a thread open for Guitar hero 2 or 3 threads below this one.
Do not open a new thread when there is an existing one.
Here is the original thread.

From what they said it's in pre-alpha, but from the video I'm having high hopes for it. Anyone know if there's a website for it?
MODS, please merge this thread with this one:

For some reason the mods decided to call that other thread a dupe. I believe these are two different developers. This app is an amazing port of the GP2X (from wiki) "open-source, Linux-based handheld video game console and media player created by GamePark Holdings of South Korea."
It has an active community supporting it because it's open, and it runs all the emulators you need. And because it's linux-based, it's not too difficult to make it work for android!
this app looks incredible,
now if only the g1 had better up down left right buttons...
can't wait for this one to drop though

I pm'd the mod that closed that thread, he was unaware that it was by a different group and was responding to the thread being reported. He said for me to let him know if I want the thread re-opened or to start my own thread, but I guess we should just keep the discussion here?
not just two developers but also two different emulators this one being extremely amazing. i cant wait for this to come out. i most def think this will be an even bigger reason to not give a damn that iphones have cooler looking games compared to the ones the G1 has to offer as of now.
only thing is that it being an emulator it cant become too mainstream without it becoming a copyright nightmare. so if it does come out as a licensed app all those companies, capcom, neogeo, nintendo ect..... will have to get a cut and its most likely not gonna be a free app.
but if i were the dev, im not sure if i would want everyone(the public aka people that only see ghey ass iphone commercials) to know that the G1 capable of handling badass games. or just kinda keep the emulator underground.
Hopefully I don't get blasted for starting a new thread, but unbelievably I can't find any threads on this game.
It's called 'Alchemy' but, search for 'Alchemy zed' to get straight to it
Basically, you start with 4 base elements: Fire, Earth, Water and Air. Combine these to form new elements, i.e. water + air = steam. Combine these new elements with others to get more!
Very simple, highly addictive, and free There's 300 elements to make, and there all pretty diverse (I just figured out how to make a vampire!)
check it out, great game
Great game, I'm at 46 now.. It's pretty hard.. : p

I'm on 216 now , but I've had it for a couple of weeks now....
A little tip; when you make a new element, double tap it, and combine it with itself
Also, check out the comments in the market for ideas and spoilers
Update is out! 30 new elements.
I'm 324/330
Hi , no more players!!!?
At now I find 345/360 and it so more hard!!!
COME ON!!!
When I posted over 8 posts,I write the link with pictures of the new elements found
Sorry for my bad english (help by google translater!)
Hello
as you might be able to tell im new around here as far as actually posting goes.
a few months back i had a idea for a web based game where you could take control of your own cell phone service provider(ATT,Verizon) or manufacturer(HTC,Samsung) much like games like AirwaySim and Airline Empires have done for airline simulation games.
So i put together a rather crude version of it as far as the user interface goes but i think the basic function of how the game will work is in place.
So i am looking for some people who would be interested in testing this game and giving some feedback about any bugs, features and overall what they think of the execution the game.
if you would like to help out with testing the game and let me know id be more then happy to share a link to get you all setup to begin testing the game with other players once we have enough of them.
if you have any questions go ahead and ask away id be more then happy to answer them.
Mabey posting this in the android development and hacking/apps and games section would have been a better spot

Just wondering how all you experienced developers on here started out. I know you have probably been asked many times before but I am genuinely interested.
I am by no means any sort of developer. I first came to this site about two years ago when I first learned of rooting. Prior to that I had no knowledge whatsoever of developing or programming.
However I cant keep off here. Is it something that can be self taught. I would really love to delve into this so that I can start to have a little input into what goes on here and even if its just testing at least I could maybe be of help to someone. I have picked up little bits on how things work but my main question is where would be a good place to start self teaching??? It is becoming somewhat of an interest for me.
Any pointers would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
If it's apps your interested in then AdamOutler has recently done a great video/article combo which would get you started. Check the portal / youtube channel....

I suppose anything really just to get a basic understanding to start with. I would love eventually to be able to create/modify custom roms ect, but yeah thanks for the pointer.

Well for roms, check if your device is supported by Dsixdas kitchen, if so that's a great place to start tinkering...
If you want to really start making changes to things though your going to need to learn to code to some extent...
Read and search, read and search...
Good luck

If you want a great beginning developer environment, wp7 is the easiest and most user friendly one to dive into.
I taught myself python with old boxed up books from the back rooms of my high school library. Didn't have a computer and did all my work on notebook paper. My first language. So, yeah, you can teach yourself anything.
I'm reading this right now.

Has tons of practical applications.
Might get a kick out of what I'm reading right now:

Advances in Cryptology 2011
Digital Forensics with Open Source Tools
Philosophy and Simulation: The Emergence of Synthetic Reason

Nowhere near an experienced developer, but with a couple of apps and a ROM WIP, the only thing that taught me was xda-tv
Learning to me is just when somebody puts a puzzle in front of you with no clues or guidelines. But you are surrounded by 50k people that you may ask questions (xda).
I just keep trying to solve the puzzle and if I really don't get something I just ask xda.
That's just how I learn. Its how I've always learn. Just dive into it and rip it apart. Think as logically as possible and listen to some cool dub step while doing so for extra learning points.

Hey folks,
I've been a member here quite a while. I'm currently using a Galaxy Note II and using MeanBean Ice for my rom.
A while back I started an online game called BattleWang. You can find it at: Mod edit: Link removed.
I'm not trying to spam or anything. This is just the type of game us type of people get into typically. Just hoping to get some more folks playing the game. Don't just first glance it. Check it out and you'll see I have built all kinds of things into it including odd calculations for betting. Check it out.
Sorry mate, but since it's got a commercial aspect to it I've got to close this down (you can buy stuff via paypal on there).
Good luck with the fights
