video players? - G1 Apps and Games

Are there any available with a playlist option? Dl'ing videos from youtube (I.e.: concert footage) while bored are piling up. And i'd like to watch it continuously instead of going back and picking through files. Nifty for times there's no work to be done now that I hijacked an htc nuby plug that has headphone jack and let's me charge at the same time

Nexus One Having Trouble With Audio Formats

I've been trying to play music on my Nexus One, all in MP3 and M4A format. The M4A's play fine but stutter horribly. The MP3's don't stuttuer but you can barely hear them at all even when the sound is turned to 100%. I'm running Froyo FRF91, if that helps. Any help?
EDIT: Okay, let me explain again. I am using the OEM headphones btw. I'm start to play a MP3. When I play it, all the lyrics are so low you can't even hear them even when media volume is at 100%. But, the music is normal. When I play a M4A, the everything is right but, it does lots of stuttering and distortion. Another problem i ran into is when I manually put album art on a couple songs in the form of JPEG, they showed up. But, when I did the assign album art in iTunes, it uses bitmap and they won't show up. So my guess on that issue is that Android doesn't support bitmap. So my question is, how can I get them to play normally? I'm using the stock media player.
Anyone care to help?
Please?
Well, I guess the lack of answers is because people either don't understand what you're asking, or don't understand how your problem could be created.
What are you using to play files - headphones or speaker? What kind? I have no stuttering whatsoever on MP3s (didn't try M4A, but I can try if you point me to one), and when the Media volume is 100% - I can't put on the headphones, they destroy my ears.
My only suggestion would be to wipe and reinstall the rom. Then again, that's my solution to just about every problem my phone has.. and it usually works.

Is this clear now?
Are you sure there's no problem with your audio files?
I'm still having the problem! Can anyone please help?

Yes, this time you're very clear, and this time I also have an answer for you.
This means that either the contact on the headphone jack or your headphones are bad. It happens when you short together left and right channels, for example, or if you have the ground detached. It can also happen if you don't insert the headphones all the way.
Test with other headphones, and if they do the same - consider your headphone jack faulty.
I've never seen album art in BMP format, only in JPG. I won't be surprised if BMP isn't recognized. You can use converters to create one from another.
Yes, that's what i was going to do with the BMP's. But for the audio issue, the M4A's sound fine. I was playing a MP3 one time before I noticed the issue and it played fine at first then I heard the earphones pop. Maybe the earphones are bad even though they are brand new...
The difference is that M4As probably have differently differentiated stereo than MP3s, thus leading to different signs of the same problem.
I still haven't checked yet since I dont have headphones on me right now. But, as soon as I do, I will check and post my findings

[Q] Act 1 video player volume problem

i tested out Act 1 video player on my evo, it ran fine. so i bought it to use on the g tablet when it finally came in. so i tried out a few roms and decided on tnt lite 4.4. i loaded up act 1 from the market and ripped a dvd to mp4 and played it. the volume starts at 100% and then gets quieter, so i hit the volume up key, and it goes down to 29% and that is the highest it will get. i first ripped it using dvdfab with the iphone/ipod h.264 settings, set the sound to stereo. i also tried using handbrake with the ipod touch settings with video at 800kbps and audio at 80. both give the same result (though the handbrake rip plays better on the g tablet) with the volume maxing out at 29%.
i emailed the developer of it and he said he hadn't heard anyone else with the issue. so i just wonder, am i doing something wrong?
i also tried making sure the volume was at max before starting the app, but it does the same thing. it also does it on every other rom i have tried, vegan 5.1.1, asop vanilla, g harmony, vegan experamental, and tnt lite. i tried other memory cards and the one usb drive i was able to get working on it.
i really like the playlist shortcut feature for my son to watch movies while on a long car ride without any interaction to start a new one.

turns out there is something else causing this low volume, i tried mobo video player and it does the same thing as act 1. not sure what is going on.
Try using Rock Player Lite for the time being. I'd had the same issue .. and Rock Player works for me. Guessing the other two need an update.
Yeah I have the same problem also, if you turn the volume up all the way on the tablet, than load the video the volume stays at max. However if you attempt to use volume control in any way the app either crashes or drops to 29% than ultimately to 0%.
Movies display great though haha.

[Q] Choppy Audio Playback

Hello, I've searched the forum and read general tips on choppy audio playback, and tried some of those suggestions (turning off notifications, limiting background processes under the dev options), and am still having really bad choppyness on audioplayback. I've tried on a number of apps (google music, rocket player, walkman, ), all with the same problems.
The audios are all vbr, non DRM. MP3 and M4a. I do have the files on a separate card I guess. That is something I haven't tried changing... But goodness, the phone only has 16GB onboard. Even my ancient iphone was more than that. The card is class 10 so not slow.
EDIT: I've also tried with the onboard memory - Same deal. I just did a restore via the phone - same deal. I'm on FW434. I'm going to try reflashing the FW tonight (just via the sony update service).
I've got it so that even with next to nothing running other than system stuff, I'm getting random choppy playback. It is driving me nuts. If I can't fix it I'll have to go back to my old iphone.
I mean there is plenty of RAM, and the CPU is understressed.
Any ideas? Anyone else get this?
Oddly enough, I get this ONLY when using the headset. When I use a 3.5 to 3.5mm lead to play music in my car, it all plays without a hitch.

Yeah, so I'm not alone.
On 3.5mm you mean via the usb connection?
I tried another rebuild last night. Same deal. It still does it.
FFS, this is on stuff I've had for years. I'm trying to listen to the Portishead self titled album. Had it for years, listened to it about ten times, no issues on my iphone and ipods. I can't take it. This phone has broken me and I have to go back to an iphone just to preserve my sanity.
No problems here even when using headphones. You should take it back and get it fixed/replaced.

Thanks, I think it must be. Was suggested elsewhere I've asked about it. I'm taking it back today.
That's good. Make sure you let them hear it (music being choppy) and be FIRM that it is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE when you are paying money for it.
They took my word for it, but I left the album on the main memory I was testing with.
It was so random though. After I prepped it to return (sim out, SD out) I tried again and it didn't do it for 12 minutes, so I put the SD in and tried again, and got it happening, then took the SD out, played from main memory, and it did it within 30 seconds then.
It is more like audio drop out than a pause. Eg, not affecting rhythm, just no sound momentarily. And headphones and loudspeaker. Like something amiss in the audio circuitry.
I hope it comes back fixed. It was within the Optus 30 days replacement time, but they weren't a "merited Yes Optus store" so couldn't replace on the spot.
I sure hope it comes back fixed. I was just starting to get used to the thing, even with the annoying-ness of needing three audio players instead of one... (music, aax audiobooks, and m4b audiobooks)... But the whole iphone to android exp[erience has been such a shock. The only thing I'm real happy with (other than the physical size and design) is the discovery of dolphin. What a great mobile browser

I'm not quite in the same boat with you. My audio occassionally stutters, doesn't drop out. When I said 3.5mm lead, I meant a lead which has a 3.5mm jack on one side and a 3.5mm jack on the other side. One end goes into my phone, the other into the AUX plug of my car stereo.
Ah right. Yes that sounds different to what I'm experiencing. That sounds more like a headphone type issue. Must admit the actual socket doesn't seem particularly robust.
Ah well, I'm still waiting on my phone to come back. Two damn weeks now. I keep hoping, and then hoping that they will have fixed it I've found it slow and small going back to my iphone for a while now...
Argh, over three weeks since I put it in for repair. I just called and it left Sydney Friday, so should have it tomorrow or Wednesday. I just hope the audio is fixed.
Got it back.
Still the same damn issue. They didn't even bother taking it apart or testing it. Just "updated sw to latest", which it already bloody was.
And I got a new fault now. My SD card crashes the phone. And Ive tried everything, to formatting it (low level) to exfat to make the experia prompt to reformat via the notifications, and it would crash midway through formatting.
I'm so sick of this. I can't take it. I just want to be able to have a phone with more than 16gb memort, and listen to music without dropouts

sound quality issues

I start watching HD-Youtube, sound and picture are great. After about an hour, I get bits of static in the sound, and it starts to sound like a record (if you're old enough to remember those) that's been played a few too many times. The device feels a little warm, but not hot, to the touch. Any advice, similar issues, etc?
Edit: During my browsing, may have found more information to apply. I have the Chromecast plugged in, with the extension, to get it as far away from the back of the TV as possible. The USB is plugged into the TV, so it shuts down, when not in use.

I am having the same issue but it happens when I first turn it on too or pause a video and the resume

Volume stabilization? Various News Channels are UP & DOWN on volume!!

So, I bought my Roku 2 a few years ago to play news & other things in my shower TV when I'm bathing.
And rarely ever use it. Because when I turn on a TV news channel (any of them), a video starts playing and I set my volume based on that.
Then the next video starts playing and it's soooo quiet that I can barely hear it.
Then the next video starts playing and it's sooo LOUD that I'm scrambling for the remote control to turn down the volume!
And there are no mods to stabilize the Roku volume.
So I'm thinking of ditching it for a Chromecast.
Are there any apps/mods that can normalize/stabilize volume levels for Chromecast?
I realize there is nothing that can be done about the source volume, we're just out-of-luck there because every broadcaster has their own source/gain/processing/whatever setup.
But I'm hoping there is some root/other mod for the Chromecast that will take the source volume and try to maintain a certain dB through the various videos?
Actually, I've got the latest Chromecast and I don't think you can root it yet?
I haven't searched.
But the topic stands. Does anyone know of a way to "normalize" volume levels? Sort of like how some TV's have "night mode" to prevent explosions from sounding too loud and waking others up.
