I tried the old sugar cube trick and I didn't see anything coming off. Has anyone been able to remove the logo?
I've seen a few posts about this and haven't seen anyone successful yet.
I don't think anyone has done it yet. But really, I don't see how it's that useful. I mean, I guess if you're not using it on AT&T then I could see why it might be a little weird, but otherwise it doesn't take away from the aesthetics of the phone.
I haven't tried myself on my Tilt, but it works with other phones when the logo on on a metal surface (make sure its not plastic)
But acetone at my girl's nailshop works great. I'll try with my Kaiser today.
goodbye clearcoat!

Ya can't be ashamed that you got it cheaper than others can you??
Best thing is not to remove it as the previous poster has mentiond as it may damage the clear-coat surface starting gradual surface stripping.
Try covering it with a fancy logo sticker of your own design, then you would have a really unique device!!

Hey let me know the result.
Uh oh... i see some bad news coming. I'd bet once it's removed, there are permanent lettering marks where it was previously. Anxiously awaiting results.....
Would the old sugar cube method work? Or is the abrasiveness issue different for a metal surface?
I gave a few passes with the sugar cube, didn't seem to be doing anything so gave up.
My phone is a couple of weeks old and the paint on one corner has already rubbed (or has been scratched) off leaving the shiny aluminum exposed. Has anyone else got this issue or have any bright ideas to restore the matt black color? I tried a Sharpie but it didn't stick.

Humm, this is worrying. I hope it's a fluke
Got a spot of aluminium as well in the top left corner.
Only 1mm in diameter, but still... not too good after about 10 days of use.
WoW... I hope these are just two isolated cases, or some bad serie...
Believe me, if this happens to mine, it will be the very last time I buy a HTC. You can write my words in stone.
HastaSSSS
Not good news!! I had this same problem with my HTC 3600P... it looked like crap after 6 months... crap black finish rubs off easy.. specially if in a humid country like jamaica.. really really bad news for the diamond! thanks guys.. will keep a close eye on it and try and get a case of it ASAP.
C
I have also got paint rubbing off both top corners, it's slowly getting worse. Not happy!!! Few weeks old. Any body know a good paint match? Think I could fix it..
Im sure that having your keys and coins in the same pocket with your phone it will get scratched.
Can't make out the corners of mine through the fingerprints even though every night I wipe my fingers on my jeans after my chips! What about proper Indian ink?
I had to something about it on mine...
Fine/Ultra Fine Black Sharpie Permanent Marker has done the job..
...does NOT sound good, I had this problem with my Trinity and it really looked a mess. I hope HTC read this post and maybe.... even say something about it? or would i be dreaming?
some pictures maybe?

Forget the Sharpie people it comes off in 2 days!!...
same has happened to mine, metal finish has worn off on top right corner, have tried permanent marker and also a little tin of humbrol satin black enamel paint which worked the best, but even that rubs off!!! gotta say im dissapointed with the finish of the phone, my touch dual still looks new after 6 months.
Hmm you made me pretty worry
I already ordered my diamond and I'm expecting it within 10 days ... I already ordered Overlay plus for the screen and front buttons and Invisible shield for the back and sides.. I was not planning to apply the invisible shield from day one but after what you guys wrote I think I will...

No paint rubbing off here after 6 weeks.
No paint rubbing off here either and it's thrown in a pocket with no case and has landed on the floor with no damage.

My wife put it in her purse with a bunch of keys, but luckily it is only the screen protector. I can't blame her for the paint however, that was all me.
Playing ball with my Diamond wasn't one of the functions on the phone that I was aware of. Does the G sensor help you hit better?
we need a rubber case!!!
Oh no... this happend to me to my old wizard, but the paint lasted for at least 6 months before scratching. I hope my $700 phone has a good paint Job.
hey guys, i have a prob with my csl mi410 (x6)
when im taking picture, it seems lil bit goldish, when i check at my camera, oh god there are lot of dust inside..
i think it troubling my lense...
anyone know how to clean it?
to dissasembly it??
thanks
Well if the shell design is the same as the Motorola triumph then there are 2 t-5 torx screws towards the bottom, underneath the battery cover. Then the case kinda prys apart. Just be careful not to damage anything.

yes, i found only 2 t-screw underneath d battery, but i can*t take it apart, its kinda locked from inside
are there a sensitive cables stick on backcase? can you please make tutor with pic or video??
service centre is soo hard to find here
Well either get a flat head screwdriver or a guitar pick or something like that and kind of run it around the edges lifting gently. There are quite a few locking things on the inside so you kind of have to push against them to get it apart... I might make a tutorial soon.

if it not bothering you please do,
it's will be very usefull, especially for newbie like me..
and it will be the first assemble tutor for x6 i think, b'coz i've been searching almost 3 day and got nothing...
thankyou
Ok well when I get time I will try and make a tutorial. It may be slightly different, because it's gonna be a Motorola Triumph, but it should basically be the same. I'm pretty sure the shells are put together the same, just a different exterior.
anyone??
On my white Vivid, the volume and power buttons chrome are compelely worn out and its copper color, and the back battery plate is starting to chip its paint as well. Im kinda picky and things like this kinda bug me (expecially how the buttons clash with the rest of the white body)
Has anyone tried anything to remedy this or restore it? Painting it perhaps? I would like anyone who has done something about this to share how they touched up the worn parts (besides using a case)
I remember there was a thread a few months back about this issue. I don't remember a resolution coming up other than the case. I wonder if you could buy replacement buttons, not sure about painting. Seems like you would have to take it apart to do it since if any got in to the crevices it could mess up your phone.

Im referring to that matte coating that it has on. I have chromed a mytouch 4G before. How is it working out for you? Because when I did it to the mytouch it looked great but the chrome smugdes very easily and was hard to clean, does the vivid plate smudge the same way?

You should post pictures and a tutorial for chroming the Vivid! You might make front page on XDA
Edit: NMD

Do it!! Also heads up to everyone HTC will send you a new batterydoor free if you "lose" it. My friend just got a new door after his was dented badly.
Just finished working on my battery plate. What I did was spray it with Tylex, and lightly sand/buff with the tougher side of a sponge, the coating came off so easily and now I have a brushed metal look, im very pleased!!! Uploaded a pic. Now if there was some way i can make the power/vol buttons not clash with the copper color...
Btw, in real life it looks much better, obviously the flash will make the textures pop out more

Thnx for the tips. Interesting point about the fingernail paint, could this work on the vol buttons? I could cover the edges and apply a small coat to cover up the copper color, either silver or white. Question is, would this last without easily chipping?

If u feel that way the be our guest and get you a iPhone ..imo iPhones suck too
I have had all version of the iphone since 2007. even back then the build quality is better. All I'm saying is something as simple as paint on a part should not flake off so quickly and now I'm stuck with copper buttons with no idea how to fix or repair it. So instead of coming on here and telling me to buy a new phone how about laying an idea to fix the issue..
btw: to others with this issue I have posted on HTCs website.. but I'm sure they will work on it like fixing the voice dialer option.. haha
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160748688402?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 best choice i think for u.

My assembly skills suck..60 bucks and a chance to completely destroy the phone..hahah . I need to call AT&T and see if they or HTC will do warranty work on it. there is too much of a tight tolerance to try to chrome it and then clear coat it. Ill never be able to push the buttons in.. haha
Well I finally caved in.. I called HTC and asked them if there was a way to fix it myself and they basically told me no. The phone still has its 1 year warranty and they explained the process to me.. They only have one repair center in ALL of America..haha (Texas). So when you call and talk to them they will give you an RMA number. take out your batt, sim, case and send it to them.
They were easy to get a hold of and it was pretty quick to get things set up. It will be hard to not have a smart phone for 2 weeks but I had a back up pos. Since my back up phone was not a smart phone I went to an ATT store and they did it for me but told me I would "Lose" my unlimited plan because that phone didnt support it. The manager told me he will contact the right people to get it back.. then told me for 10 bucks a month(insurance) I could just get a new phone.. I told him I'm already paying 160/mo for 3 phones..haha
Anyways, the moral of the story is, if you are having this issue send it in now before your warranty is gone or live with copper color buttons.

Did you check and see if there was an AT&T Device Support Center near you? They may be able to do the swap while you wait.

went back home, cleaned everything up the best as i can, screen, speakers and the camera working fine, even did AnTuTu benchmark tests and everything is fine like before.
when i cleaned it i saw weird.. scratch i dont know how to call it.. just watch the pics

I'm not sure that I would describe that as "weird". It is obvious that you scraped it across that part. Not much you can do to fix it besides sand and paint.
Yeah, looks like you scuffed the bezel. I think the only things you can do are either repair it yourself or replace the device.
@digitLIX,

I'm not sure what to tell you. There's some kind of anodized finish on the aluminum frame. Polishing might make it look worse?

Well, maybe I'll go to these small cell phone stores I don't really know..
I just don't want to make a mess with it
Put a case on it, forget its there, and don't play football with your phone in your pocket.
