Is there something close to a full screen vga dialer? Anything that makes the numbers easier to press...

I'm looking for larger dialpad buttons? I've seen a lot of crap all over the place which is more of a piece together and there is always SOMEONE posting with bad news... such as "can't uninstall it" or "smart dial doesn't work" etc...
Is there a fully functioning (even if I have to pay money) keypad (dial screen buttons) with big buttons on it?
Thanks in advance!
try netcom smart dialer 2.5 - not free
There is another called reTOUCHed_Dialer2. This has much bigger buttons and easier than the built-in layout.
I am hoping somebody will have one with a different skin, though. The straight black keys are not my thing.

The reTOUCHed Dialer can be "skinned" (and I've seen a few). If you look at Dutty's planned no. 7 rom that dialer will be in it, and it will have blue/green buttons. I think Schaps' has it with purple.
Basically the dialer mainly consists of graphics for the backgrounds and buttons. You just need to edit all of them in an grapics program and you can modify it to how you want it.
Here's the cab for the standard Touch looking one.
i just upgraded to opentouch 3.0 slimline from 2.7 biggy.
Here are things which I am looking for
1) when someone calls me, earlier I used to get a full screen picture id with two nice fat finger friendly buttons to accept or reject the call. With new slimline 3.0 i get 1/3 screen text notification kind of message. How can I get full screen picture id notification. i presume I have install some app. Can anyone help me find that cab.
2) when talking I would like the screen to be on so that I can do other things like (get to keyboard etc.) In opentouch 2.7 biggy, there was an option to keep the backlight on while on call. In 3.0 I couldn't find it. Maybe someone can help me find that setting or app.
Open touch is a great ROM. I can't wait till 4.0 !!

1) I'm assuming you were using S2U2, just reinstall it.
2) Sorry, I can't help you with that.. :-(
Never used 3.0 and am now using MV-Rom 4.2..hehe
Thanks for pointing that out.
yes biggy version had S2U2. However I am not too big fan of the sliding. Maybe I have to live without full screen caller id.
I am still looking for disabling the screen-off during call
You can still use the Full screen caller id and disable screen off during call without using the slide to unlock feature. just uncheck slide to unlock in S2U2 settings
Is there a way to disable the screen orientation change when you slide the keyboard out on the tilt. I have a hard time using the on screen dialer and like to use the keyboard to dial however there is a good 1-2 second lag between when I slide the keyboard out and when I can start dialing. I'd like to disable the auto orientation and assign it to a button.
Thanks
I am of the same mind - that would be a great. I also prefer to use the hard dialer, and typically keep the screen in landscape so there isn't any of the delay that the change of screen orientation would cause.
I would however prefer to keep it in portrait, but as of yet I have not found a way to do that.
Has anyone discovered how this could be done?
Thanks
Steve
Sorry, my comment is: Wrong direction, you'd better solve this problem, rather than disable the keyboard screen orietation:

Check here the big sticky!
I have a question:
when entering my PIN the keypad is quite good looking black.
But, when I disable the Diamond phone skin, it's another one, more grey and smaller buttons
Is there a way to get that black skin?
According to this article:
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/...nd-pro-are-multi-touch-gods-just-not-how-you/
They seem to claim that the entire 2.8" VGA screen of the HTC Diamond is Capacitive.
Does this mean that very soon we could disable the resistive feature of the touchscreen, and go to capacitive mode ?
Even better, maybe it will be possible to decide which apps will remain in resistive mode, and which should go to capacitive (for example, WM6 setting screens should remain resistive, since stylus is needed, yet TF3D and OPERA Mobile should be capacitive).

No, it's a bad article. I've expected much more from that site. I thought they verify their sources. Only the buttons are multitouch.
Actually... the whole bottom panel is MULTI TOUCH
... the whole bottom panel is capacitive and MULTI TOUCH.
We'll see what applications can be made out of this...http://rapidshare.com/files/1376163...igned_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe

It`s no real Multi touch. The panel is just separated in different parts (left, right, ring). Start the debug tool and try to use two fingers in one part of the panel and u`ll see...
