MY dad wants to get cricket and I love my diamond lol, so can I get a diamond pro and flash it to cricket and what about esn issues?
bump
bump, and what bout internet
c'mon someone has to know
128 views and no one knows nothing.....
maybe because spamming is frowned upon in all internet communities?
maybe you could help me a little bit. What is cricket?
I'm assuming its a service provider, if thats the case you need to sim unlock your diamond. I'm sure someone here can unlock it for you, for a fee.
It's cdma so it would have nothing to do with sim unlocking, and I had to keep posting because my topic kept falling so I was trying to bump it up
so im guessing cricket is a provider. I'm not too familiar with cdma phones, but if cricket isnt cdma based then you probably have no chance of using it on that network. One of the main ideas behind cdma is that your stuck on the network you bought the phone from.
I could be wrong but this is what i understand about cdma phones.
dude - u need to provide all details for people to understand...
if ur diamond is a CDMA, you might find less help on this forum... it's almost all GSM
anyhow - if Cricket uses CDMA, there's no chance u could flash it on a GSM phone or vice versa...
good luck!
oh sorry my diamond is cdma

The high views are because of the intriguingly useless thread title and the lack of answers are because nobody knows what you're talking about. If Cricket is a CDMA operator then say that so people don't have to guess it.
he i found what cricket is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricketlol
Okay here we go
Cricket=CDMA(No Contract/$40 Unlimited Minute/text/web/etc)
My Diamond/Touchpro= From Sprint (CDMA), May be bad esn not sure yet

LOL!
OP: it's been stated before by me and other users, its very hard to switch carriers while on a cdma device. they make cdma so you cant hop networks like gsm users do.

Sorry if this is a repost... havent seen this posted..
Dont know if this is possible.. sorry I am a noob
Has anybody tried an unlocked fuze on the sprint network.
I have been pondering the idea myself.. I like the fact that the fuze has PTT and would love to have that with my current sprint plan..
PS.. Sorry I think I posted this in the wrong section. Would move it myself if I knew how.
Fuze is GSM device, Sprint uses CDMA so the short answer is NO.
Additonally the PTT button is just a button. The software is at&t specific so again NO.
Just buy Sprint's Touch Pro, it's basically the same device with a few differences..
yeah it wont work... sry.
...................lol
You don't have the technology or a steady hand to pull off a procedure like that, so ha in your face!
actually, i though sprint aquired nextel, whom use sim cards... i dunno though, cause ive seen most of it referencing iden phones.
my advice, go to a sprint store and ask... the most they'll say is no.
Dont tell them you want to put a "FUZE" on it though, as i found that specific names of devices tend to garner an immediate "no".
Aside from that, sprint has their own version of the fuze with cdma hardware.

just an FYI
iDen (Integrated Digital Enhanced Network) is a proprietary technology developed by Motorola and has no association with GSM (Groupe Special Mobile) at all. Sprint is a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) network
those sim based nextel phones are international phones as far as I remember working for nextel back in the days.\
Also have you guys seen that Sprint Touch pro being used with the Verizon on Youtube?
Question #-1: How can I get my hands on one of these? I called HTC and they stated that this is not offered in the US.
Question #-2: Now should I be able to get my hands on this device..would the radio work on T-Mobile's Network?
Question #-3: What would be the potential cost? I can unlock it myself.
Suggest you go to the correct forum.
The Touch HD has it's own one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=451

Just because I have the time.
1. You need to buy an unlocked version online, just google it.
2. It is GSM and unlocked, it should work with T-Mobile, but is not compatible with any US 3G networks. So for now only 2G
3. You can only but it unlocked, I have seen anywhere from $700 to $1000
Thank you Denco7..that was exactly the information that I needed......I am a Tilt owner...so unlike the previous moron who posted he could have saved that shizznick for someone who cares...
Also one more thing Denco7...do you know if I could swap the Radio on that phone for the one on another HTC Touch Device thats domestic? Now If you don't know this answer..I can understand me going to the TouchHD Forum for this answer...I just thought i'd prick your head real quick...
As denco7 stated, you'll have 2G network speeds but you won't get 3G. Unfortunately, that's a hardware limitation. Something that changing the radio cannot fix.

Actually, this "moron" (thanks for that) was trying to be helpful and point you in the right direction, not trying to flame you. Honest to God, some people!!!
where are the Mods ..........
is this possible? Please dont say no jus because YOU dont know.
ive been to flash2boostmobile.com but im not sure if its a scam or not.
im getting ready to FINALLY buy a hero but im not sure if itll switch over.
Someone please help me.
Many,many thanks well in advance
I'm not for sure, but it doesn't look real to me. Usally stuff like that has more pages and stuff like that.
I don't believe this will work as Sprint uses CDMA and Boost (although owned by Sprint) uses iDEN. iDEN is basically a SIM version of CDMA but doesn't work with either. Boost does offer something that lets you use certain Boost branded phones on Sprint's network however.
For the select handsets operating on Sprint's CDMA network, I would assume yes to 3G. The iDEN network, from what I'm reading, is a different network so I have no idea on that one.
It can be done, just not likely a legal way to do so.

What Sprint phones will work on Boost, and how do I get ____ on Boost (part 2)
1.5 Is it possible to use other phones on Boost CDMA?
I've been thinking about the Boost thing to I know the only thing that would stop you is if sprint has some sort of subsidy code on these phones. I've had two unlocked gsm phones and the only from tmobile to at&t. I had to get the subsidy from tmo to get it to work on at&t then had to hack the phone to get the mms and internet to work. There is a guy on here that has successfully flashed his phone to metropcs so it is definitly possible. Only problem is that you would have to constantly fix your apn (depending on how often you change roms)
First, as others have stated, the comment about boost being iDen is only is not correct. Boost has iDen and CDMA. When I looked into it the only phones you couldn't put on Boost appeared to be the Android phones. I know there are other ways to do it but not sure if it is ok here to talk about that.
I am considering trying to get my Hero on Virgin Mobile though, the new Beyond Talk unlimited Data/txt/messaging plans for $25+ is just crazy.

I wouldn't trust them as their information is incorrect. Boost Mobile is not 4G, nor is any of their phones capable of running on 4G.
Plus their price is just ridiculous.
We do the same thing and we are the originators of it. we started with BoostBerry3G.com, then SilverSpoonCells.com and now we are doing it for 30 different websites and 49 stores across US.
If you wanted to get this done check out the original Sprint to Boost Mobile Flashers at SilverSpoonCells.com.
All Sprint Models with a Clean ESN/MEID are compatible except: HTC Hero, Samsung Moment, palm pre, palm pixi, and BlackBerry 8530 Curve 2
In very rare occurences some Samsung Instincts have showed up as Incompatible.
1st-- THERE IS NO FLASH FOR BOOST
2nd-- Boost has BOTH CDMA AND IDEN(nextel sim only)
3rd--the only Droid phone u can get on Boost is the one they sell

1st -- you wouldn't be flashing anything to switch networks, thats a given (its not a ROM)
2nd-- you bringing up boost having cdma and iden a year later is pointless... this is definitely known already
3rd-- the only android phone you could "buy" from boost is the one they sell
4th-- heroC is a SPRINT phone, thus why this is in this particular forum, so did u not just contridict your 3rd point u made???

I'm Also Curious about this topic... if Anyone can Confirm this one way or another Please PM me!
Thanx in Advance!
He guys
Here is the question straight forward, I bought a used US Cellular HTC Touch Pro 2 from someone who uses the phone on a CDMA network while i will have to use it on a GSM network the seller said that there is a SIM slot underneath the battery which he never used, Will this phone work on my GSM network outside U.S. and will that phone be unlockable?
This is not the correct forum. Use use touch pro 2 cdma or general for these questions.
Heres a link http://rhodiumw.htc-unlocks.com/
no way
I dont think there is a cdma cellphone which you can use as a gsm

Sorry but that's not right. The CDMA versions of the TP2 have GSM capability too, and have a SIM slot for that purpose, as said above.
As also said above though, the CDMA sub-forum is the best place for this sort of question though.
ok People i've Moved this to CDMA froum Please help there

Hey I have a Sprint TP2 and can use SIM cards or CDMA service (currently using), I already did the HardSPL for it but I dont know which ROMs to flash it with... I like the way the Energy ROM looks from screenshots but also want something fast...
What ROMs can I use on my phone?
This forum is for GSM ROMs, there's a separate sub-forum for CDMA ROMs. But better would be ppcgeeks.com, which tends to have a lot more CDMA ROMs than over here (including links to NRG's ROMs).
So I´m kind of confused, if the phone it is both gsm (simcard able) and also supports cdma, what kind of rom will it support? gsm only? cdma only? or both depending on wether I´m using it with a gsm carrier or a cdma carrier? If somebody could answer it´d make my day as there´s a guy selling me a touch pro 2 that´s able to support both gsm and cdma but I´d like to know how far can I go about flashing stuff to it, as I´m currently a happy htc kaiser/tilt owner and would like to "flash the nand out of it" lol and even throw in android to the mix (as i´m currently running froyo on my old kaiser).

If you phone is both CDMA and GSM (Sprint or Verizon), then you need the CDMA ROMs.
Also make sure you use the CDMA HardSPL and CDMA radios. If you flash a GSM radio to a CDMA phone (even if you're using it on a GSM network with a SIM card), you *will* permanently brick it.

thanks for such fast replies. So, if I buy the gsm/cdma phone It sure won´t be as customizable as the gsm version as I haven´t seen many cdma roms around (haven´t looked around that much so I may be wrong) anyways is there any performance/quality disadvantages of going gsm/cdma instead of the "regular" gsm version of this phone? (not really talking about data traffic alone but the overall feel of the phone). A few too many questions I know, so sorry if i´m being kinda bothersome. thanks in advance.

That's because you're on XDA-developers, which historically has had more GSM stuff than CDMA, I believe. If you want CDMA stuff, go to ppcgeeks.com, where you'll find a thread on NRG's ROM plus others. So it should be just as customisable as a GSM-only phone.
Ok I'll download the CDMA ROM's... But will I still be able to use SIM cards on it if I go to another country (or in the US for that matter)? I was planning on doing the SIM/Radio unlock thing for US carriers (the one where you enter your IMEI and pay like 14 euros)??

I know it's kind of confusing, but it doesn't make a difference if the device uses GSM also. It's a CDMA device. You can only flash CDMA ROMs to it, otherwise it will brick. If you have the radio unlocked, you can use it on other carriers. You can unlock it most easily by contacting the carrier and just telling them you're going on vacation to Europe or something and need it unlocked.
