I am a bit confused about this, but here we go. I have a HTC TyTN II unbranded phone that will not charge without the headphone adapter in it. I have tried 3 different wall chargers, 2 USB cables to 2 different PC's and a car charger. I know all of them work because they charge my headset, which has a mini usb connector. When I have the headset adapter in the phone will charge off of all of the above chargers. I have looked around on the forums and the internet, but have not found a solution. The headphone adapter in question is this one:

When the usb cable to the computers are plugged in as well the phone and computer do not recognize each other as being plugged in. I have hard reset the phone, let it sit over night without the battery in it, I have cleaned the contacts in the connector. What else is left to do?
Somebody? Anybody? I'm open to all suggestions to fix this issue....

I have iPhone headphones with 4-conductor pins, http://images.appleinsider.com/ipodiphoneav-review-5.jpg (the second one) and was wondering if there were any adapters that will utilize the mic connector on the headphone and carry the mic signal as well as stereo sound instead of just the stereo ones I see all over the internet.
Thanks
I haven't seen any yet but it should be easy to DIY one for around 10 bucks.

You need a HTC ExtUSB 11 Pin USB Connector and a 1 gen iPhone 3.5mm adapter.

The video-out/power/headphone adapter (has 2.5mm and 3.5mm) from my Touch Pro/Rapheal works great and I'm sure those can be had quickly and cheaply. Nice thing about it, is that you can charge, connect data, and use headphones at the same time (which I do to fall asleep).
I saw this picture in the service manual:

In this picture,we can see it is using an USB card reader. So I am sure Diamond supports USB host.At leaset ,the hardware supports.
But we can also see an AC adapter, so maybe Diamond can not power the connected USB devices.
If an external AC adapter is connected , maybe it really supports some USB devices. But if an external AC adapter is needed, it is not very useful.
yes there have been several posts about the same thing in the forums
and nobody ever been able to get host outside of the bootloader
and even the ppc devices which do support usbHost require external power
usb is 5volt 0.5amps and
watt == volt * amps
so that mean it would have to be able to supply 2.5Watt out of the usb port
and thats more then most handheld devices can manage
I purchased the car charger from the eBay seller Yourcharger. I have had it for 3 weeks. It works very well. It charges just as fast as the factory wall cable with the factory cord would. It is far better than paying for dell's car charger. I also have his USB cable for the streak and it is excellent too. Having a 6 foot cable makes it alot easier to talk on the phone while it is charging. I recommend his products when it comes to the streak. The quality is excellent and the product works just like OEM.

Yup, i have the 6 foot cord and it works like a champ. I do not need the car charger as my wife got me thw car kit as agift.
OK, so I picked up a charger that should have worked with our tabs; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005QZ8BDC/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details.

It's a 2.1amp USB charger, pretty much as same as our stock chargers, though marketed for the iPad. I wanted to get it because I so dislike how the stock charger wobbles so much when you plug it in, since you have the area around the base of the plugs raised up from the rest of the charger; it can't really lay flat against the outlet. That, and the fact that it has folding plugs, making it easier to toss in my bag (why did Samsung design something as clean and attractive as the 10.1/8.9 tabs, then give it an ugly and unsteady charger?) It looked like a perfect solution.
Only it charges no faster than it does from a regular USB port (if you have a kernal capable of supporting USB charging). Surfing the web will eat up power faster than you can charge. It charges my SGS2 just fine, though, pretty quickly I might add. Is there a different pinout with the stock charger?
I've been tracking this cable since I first saw them on Kickstarter and got a pack today. The idea here is that this micro USB cable is reversible just like the USB "C" type. Basically there's no more flipping it over and back and then back again to get it to plug in. The way the micro USB cable should have been designed from the start. The best part is that "fast charging" feature still works with the cable plugged in to the stock Samsumg charging base. I just confirmed this on my Tmob S6 Edge.
Also cable works just fine with Spigen Neo Hybrid Series case.

You can buy znaps also if you don't mind waiting a little bit.
