I've never heard of this but would be really cool to have on my Touch Pro, what device did you see it on before?

It wasn't an app, it was just an idea that someone came up. But it was never done. It was just an idea of development Although I don't think it's useful, but would love to see how they pull it out.
Different notifications TO YOU you mean?
What is the point?
Except if you mean auto reply to them (SMS or EMail) based on who they are.
CommManagerPro (you'll find it in XDA Devs) is adding this functionality in the next version (among other things).
Try Ringo. Its a WinMo software that enables you to set separate ringtones and SMS tones for each separate contact. The user interface is very very simple, it is a great application to have and use. Either try searching for it Google, or you might be able to find it on this forum using search.

No I meant like how you have custom ringtones for your contacts, I could have sworn I saw a thread with an app that allowed you to set custom SMS tones for your contacts instead of just one default SMS sound, but the other guy said it was just a concept for an application, :-(
Interesting idea.

as already stated - RINGO is an app that can do this for you.
I had a little app that would change the carrier code sent to the App Market, so that it would think you coming from AT&T, T-Mobile, or a bunch of other carriers.
I flashed my flash, and now I can remember what the app was called! I do remember its icon was a little green lock unlocked on the left side. Can someone help a brother out and point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Market Access
The app is called my market.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Thanks for the suggestions, but neither of these is what I had downloaded. The app I was using was black-themed, had three tabs, and let you apply different 6 digit carrier codes. It didn't access the Market itself. You still used the Market App, but the third option at the top was no longer AT&T... it was "downloads". It would also allow you to backup values, etc.
Anyone?

Market Enabler (another Program) and Market Access BOTH do this, however, Market Access allows for you to spoof on Boot, so that you essentially only need to spoof once.

Please from now on, use the search tool on the forums. I found the answer in 2seconds by searching "Market Restrictions"

Thanks Dave, but I was using the search function (and google) quite heavily with no luck. The key word I was missing was "Restrictions". I was using things like carrier codes spoofing, market carrier, etc and spending a lot of time looking in the different Markets themselves.
Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure the scolding was necessary.

Did not mean for it to be harsh, just adding in as a suggestion, i guess re-reading it, it came off a little hard. My apologies. Thats defiantly the app you want to use for this though

No problem! You could call me a mutha***** a**hole, etc. and I'd still do the "We're not worthy" bow as long as you pointed me to the right app!

well your not worthy to my almighty skills ..........just playing...no problem, hope that app works out for you
You've probably found it, but I think you are looking for Market Enabler.
It's icon is a green "ME" in front of paper bag. It has 3 tabs: "Actual", "Settings list", and "Set custom"
Thanks for the suggestion for Market Access warri, it'll be nice having it happen automatically.

May I enquire what app is it that you are trying to get by appearing to be on another carrier. I installed my market and it did allow me to do this, but looking around and pretending to be on another carrier did not reveal any great sounding apps at all. Most of what I saw was bloatware, or apps to check your account information, and look for things like the WiFi hotspots for that carrier. What is it that you are wanting to get, that is unavailable to us AT&T folks?

anything related to tethering is blocked
*#*#1472365#*#* not working. Anyone know what's up? How to access? System info app won't work either. Uses same code I am sure.
Dropped with XDA -> Captivate
People have claimed to get to the menu through the secret menu app.
You can use Launcherpro to make an "activities" shortcut. Thats the only way I know of.

This is the app I was trying to use. No luck. Just does the same thing as if I were trying to manually access it (type in the service code and dialer box goes empty then does nothing).
well known and thoroughly discussed in the JH7 thread already. please don't lead to double posts. the workaround to do so creating an activity has already been discussed too.
this would also be the type of question that belongs in Q&A or general, not development because this doesn't really impact development of android
Ok cool. Sorry for wasting everyone's time. I'm an asshat. Will study up on my forum skills as not to do anything wrong again. Sorry guys. Looks like I have no idea what I am doing.
Anyway....choose Lbstestmode in activities and the first entry under that menu with the same name.
Tried to do a search but can't really find anything that matches. My friend had a blackberry and he was showing me the action logs on it which shows what has been clicked and press or what/when apps had been ran/installed, etc. Something quite similar to like in windows event viewer or file auditor.
I was wondering if we have such apps. I am not talking about catlog and all those logging stuffs as they display way too much things.
Nearest that i can get are those spy logging apps which doesnt really serve the purpose here.
Any ideas guys?

You might get the response you're after if you post or search in the android general forum. Its not really an incredible s specific question.
Where do i find app settings for the apps ive downloaded?
Ive been trying phone settings and apps, but there are no customization options for the apps in there, eg GO launcher, where and how do i enter that?
Regards from a Android rookie

Take fex this app
Launcher 8
Search Google Play store for it, cause im not allowed to post links yet, and not to mention the super annoying captcha for every post
Screen shot number 6 shows the settings in that app, but i have no idea where to enter it, i got similar problems with other apps as well, cant find the referred settings page...

Did you read my post? Launch the app, once it is launched three little dots will appear at the top or bottom of the screen, these are where you enter any applications settings.

Try a long-press on the screen? Most apps will follow the android guidelines of using the 3 dots to indicate the menu, but others (especially homescreens) will rely on long-presses to declutter the UI.
