Hi there,
I have tried searching to solve this problem but so far have had no luck. When I send a new message to someone on clicking the send button, it sends then the message then goes back to the reading pane. When I actually reply to a message and push send, the message sends but then the reply box comes up again as if it wants me to reply again! This is stupid and I wish that once i sent a reply it would also close. Would be even nicer if it went back to the home tab but just closing automatically would be nice.
Thanks
This is regular behaviour.
So there is no registry setting that can trick it into thinking a reply is a new message instead so it does close? I really don't get some of the choices made in windows mobile abd even more so why the user is not given more options.
Thanks
thread_sms
I have just been looking at the thread_sms.htm and compose_sms.htm
Is there anyway to figure out what difference between the thread view and the compose view causes the messaging window to close.
I really don't get why it doesn't go away of its own accord.
I'm also assuming no one has figured out how to make the sms send once you get back into reception.

Indeed

Does anyone else see this? When replying to a text message, the header of the message is scrolled off the screen and you cannot see who the message is intended for. I've looked for a registry setting but can't see anything relevant.
This could be embarrassing if sending to the wrong person!
AT&T Tilt
I think its a design decision. When you choose to reply to a person, you obviously already know who you are sending the message to. So they decided it wasn't important to show the To: field, instead giving you a larger space for your message.
If its that important, just press the Up key and scroll up
Yeah, experience it as well but not that much of a bother...for the moment...

it is the same on TyTN II.
You hit reply a text, you know who you're replying to. It then means less of the screen is taken up with information that is of no real use and more is available should it be a lengthy reply.

I do agree with the OP though, it could be embarrasing. The option to turn it off would be good.
I think it's quite annoying. The screen is big enough to display both the recipient and the message anyway (at least for SMSes).
Anyone found any solution?
Is there any way to have messaging closes after I hit send on a message. I hate having to close messaging every time I send at text.
Also would like to know is there any way to get the phone to close quicker when you hang up.

I would also like to know if theres something out there that can do this?
Don't know about closing the SMS app automatically, but you can send new messages or reply to received messages without opening the messaging app altogether, so you don't have to worry about closing the app when your done.
While in the TF3D Messaging TAB, simply hit the icon on the right edge of the screen a half inch from the top, looks like a message bubble with a pen.
To reply to a message, simply have the message displayed on the screen and press the Menu option, bottom right, and select reply. When you hit send, your automatically back to the TF3D TAB.
I find I only have to open the messaging app itself once in a great while.

well i don't have TF3D on my phone but i created short cuts for my most common texted people and when i press the short cut it automatically pops up with the person info filled out so i type what i want and hit send then it closes automatically
what I would like to know is if there is a way to keep it from telling me I have unread messages while I'm using thread mode. I'll be having a conversation with someone and it says I have 10 unread messages because I didn't click the title of each individual one because it is in a single thread.

I would like to know the answer to this as well, as it is quite annoying!
I think that in Eten was app send sms or SMSSender which allow you create new sms and after send didn't open messaging window. maybe someone have cab here.
For SMS, just press "OK" (h/w keyboard) or Home instead of the "X" - I've changed the X behaviour to only close the app if I press AND hold the X.
For hanging up calls more quickly, there's a registry tweak that changes the number of milliseconds... I think this is where it was described:

I think it could be done via Mortscript.... please post in DEV forum if you find a solution as this could be used by all
Guys, can anybody help me with this one?
I'm running Touch-IT 12 on my Xperia but have always had the following issue.
Basically, whenever I receive a new Email message, my phone will not come out of standby to tell me. I have to bring it out of standby myself and then touch the screen in order to see the message number go up.
I have the notifications turned on and have an alert and vibration set for new Email message.
I reads somewhere to change the "AC resuming from suspend time" and "Battery resuming from suspend time" from 1 second to 60 seconds. Done this and after a soft reset, still no joy.
Can someone help with this VERY annoying problem? All I want is to be told when I get an Email! Any help would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Sonny

install xperia tweak and on the front page of it untick disable wakeup on new message
Still no joy
Nope, still no joy.
Also, I've now noticed that if I get a new message on the phone, but don't go into my inbox, when I receive another new message, I will get the notification.
Very strange. I thought it may be down to doing a send/receive in Outlook rather than Live, but still no difference.
Very weird and so so annoying.

Sonny
Dont know how i can help you then mate because i had the exact same problem and it was because i had that box ticked under xperia tweak - hope someone else knows a fix

Are you talking about push/auto update?

I don't have push email. I'm talking about Windows Live sync being set to update whenever a new message is received.
Works fine in pulling the message, just won't sound the message tone or vibrate.
Work Around
Okay, after a lot of testing I've found a work around for my problem, not really a fix.
If I go into one of my other inboxes before going into standby, the notifications work fine.
If the last inbox I went into was Hotmail, then the notification won't work. If I move over to the Outlook inbox or SMS/MMS inbox, and then do whatever I like (except go back into the Hotmail inbox), the notifications work fine.
Not sure if anyone else has this problem. If so, I hope this helps for you too.
Again, this is when setting Windows Live to sync whenever a new message is received. The results seem as good as push email to me.
Regards
Sonny
One question: Do you close your inbox properly or do you just press the OK Button?

I close it properly, ie press the X in the corner.
That being said, just tested the other possibility... not closing it properly and just pressing okay. With this leaving Hotmail running in the bakground, it works!
So we've come to the conclusion that minimizing Hotmail by pressing OK works and going into another inbox and properly closing messaging works also!
We're getting somewhere..!
Now only if there was a way to close Hotmail properly and not have to go into another inbox to have the notifications work!

That's strange, I had expected the opposite... Perhaps there is a problem with the "wakeup" of tmail.exe... But I really have no idea how to fix this. Isuppose you have tried Softreset?
Ha ha! Tried very many soft resets!
I've had this issue with all of the custom roms I've used (all Itje's). Not sure if it's the roms, or the phone.
Oh well, at least I have a work around for it now. Better than nothing.
hey, i consatntly receive error page of ocurring with my tmail.exe.
what is tat and why is it appearing? what is happening?
i still cannot get mail notification at all..........
Now I have an issue with the notifications engine, but the reverse!
I use Manila which reflects perfectly new emails on the email icon in the slider tab, so I don't want the envelope to appear on the bar at the top. I've disabled all notifications for email (activesync), and of course the little envelope still appears.
It also remains there with a logic I haven't been able to define, even after opening the email, so I find myself going into the notifications screen to "dismiss all".
Would anybody know how to definitively stop the notification appearing at the top of the screen in the first place?
oh. wat i wan is opposite of urs.
any1 care to help?
hi all,
i travel on the underground trains a lot, and sometimes its the only time i get to write / reply to text messages.
however when i click send all i get it "SMS CANNOT BE SENT" message and it gets saved in my drafts. then i have to remember later to re-send them.
is there not a way that we can queue the messages in our outbox so that the phone immediately sends when it gets reception?
my old phones used to do this but it seems newer ones dont..
many thanks!
just wanted to ask if people understand what i mean? i found a similar topic to this form last year with no replies also.
my old HTC (200mhz windows mobile 5) had no issues with this, so may be this is just a registry fix... ?
There is an easy way to do this...
type all the message in ur Tube Train
once all the messages are there in your drafts, go into your drafts folder, select all the messages and click menu>move and move it to outbox. Once your phone will get the reception sms will automatically go
Regards,
Vishal
see but this is the problem, if i do not have reception already then sms get automatically moved from the outbox back to the drafts folder.
i know you are trying to be helpful but i want it to do something different!
imagine this, you are on the tube, then you get off and make your way through the crowds up to the street level onto a crowded busy street where just standing in one place would be in somebodys way.. so i walk to where i have to get to and immediately once i am there the client will be asking me questions or i will be working to make a good impression for us..
it leaves little time, and by the time i would remember i would already be at home wondering why i havnt had a reply!
someone must know where to point me to find an answer?? i cant be the only one!
i've asked on a few more windows forums to see if anyone knows. ive also had a look through the registry myself to see if there is anything obvious which there isnt..
i'll keep posting back with my findings.
I really understand what you mean. That little thing keeps annoying me too, most of the times I believe I've sent the message but I haven't, leading me to missunderstandings.
My old Nokia n70 didn't have any problems with that....sometimes I miss that phone so much!
Please write down here whatever you find...

yea so im getting no where with this.
its strange because this works fine on WM5
WOW!! When I send a text msg to one of my contacts, and if for some reason that contact didn't get it, the process to re-send it is just mind boggling! Actually, it doesn't RE-SEND it, u gota FORWARD a copy of the text u originally sent to the contact! And the process for that is just.........frickin....crazy! There has got to be something Im not doing right or I'm unaware of the simple "re-send" button that I can't find in the options menu when long pressing the msg. Someone please school me??
Oh yeah, where is the menu buttons to select if I want the msg sent with normal priority, high priority, urgent priority, or whatever. Both of my non-smart phones that I had before this zio had those kind of options, I'm sure this smart-like phone should have the options too, right?

ANYTHING is worth trying, but why should anyone have to. Id think it'd be something that's standard on ANY phone, smart or not. Well, hear I go downloading ANOTHER app again (lowering my internal phone memory even more) just to get something that should come standard. Ill give it a shot, thanks! Gota love this f**kin Zio.

All I do when a message doesn't send is long press on that message, select "copy message text," long press in the text entry box, and select "paste." No need to forward.
There is no re-send option that I'm aware of, nor is there any option for message priority. I never understood what that was all about anyway
For the most part,,, ^^^ what Lukas_s said.. Long press and copy msg text, then paste and resend.
There is not any message priority for SMS and unfortunately there won't be, because of the way the SMS network topology is set up. Unless there is a global rework of the SMS system, or it gets completely phased out by MMS, I dont think we're going to see any changes to SMS.

All sms should be moved to mms, so we get rid of the 160 char splits. I cant figure out why they haven;t done anything about that yet.

YES!! Thanks a lot, it is a lot quicker copy text and pasting then send. One thing I noticed today was, if u open a msg thread and long press one that was sent out then select View Msg Details it'll show date time AND priority: normal. Which has me thinkin that there could be an option to set priority level. Any advice, anyone?
