Powerfailure during romflash: stuck in colorscreen HELP - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hello,
Have of course searched 1st but could only find old solutions for older type phones.
During flashing of a rom the power fell out but I did not notice because its daytime After a while me laptop give out during the flashingprocess.
the result: stuck on the tricolorscreen. it says: romload process failed.
have tried to flash again, to hard reboot but does not work.
PLEASE help me out here....
cheers, flummie

Start the phone pressing the down volume key and you will get to bootloader. After that you can flash again

probably he also needs to put the .nbh file of the rom in the sdcard so he can flash directly.

no, does not work because you cant connect through activesync first..
would this work: use the methode of flashing through the flashcard? If i use an other phone the put the rom on the flashcard, then put it back in blackcome and flash????

Don't have to worry about ActiveSync - just put in bootloader mode (Power Button + Volume Down) and start BlackstoneCustomRUU.exe.

yep should work, rename the firmware to BLACIMG.NBH otherwise it will come up with missing rom. stick in the hd and hold down and then press the power button for a fraction of a second then follow the onscreen instructions.
if you get rom not found make sure BLACIMG.NBH is exact inc caps. but its a lot faster flashing this way anyway.

Action button is the middle of the optical joypad.
to reflash connect from your computer with a USB cable and use the Custom Radio RUU
AND DO NOT GO AROUND FLASHING THINGS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
Thanks a lot for fast response!!!
I was flashing one of the Radio ROMs here in the thread, that was in the list as worked, maybe it was transfer failure to MicroSD card, now it don't matter.
I power now Xperia on, then see that 4-color screen, then now i see kovsimg.nbh- RADIO and "Press power button to start update image" and "Press action button to cancel update image". If i press the middle of optical joystick-as you said-then it happens nothing-i see the same screen...What schould i do????
This is the "n" time I write this:

Strange for you, but well known phenomena: your flash didn't complete
You'll have to flash again from a PC or by copying a new radio file to your microSD card, or you can use "mtty"... sorry there's no other way but reaching a PC

you can't access the sd-card without a Cardreader but you dont have to. In the 4-color screen you should see the text "USB" when you connect the phone to the pc (as far as I remember, when the device is not connected to the pc instad of "USB" the text is "SERIAL"). In that mode you can use the RUU to update your device.
Mastermarv,
thank you very much!!!I was worked for me-i was using RUU Radio utilities in bootloader mode and flashed orig. Radio ROM-now it all started OK and all work again!!!!!Uf-f-f,so one "abenteuer"...
Thank you all the people, those tried to help me in this situation, much appreciated your help!!!!
Now i can some relax...

I have the same problem! i can't even connect it to my pc cuz it doesn't recognize the phone... it's been stuck at the white " KOVSIMG.nbh - OS - Update in progress...." screen for more than 10 mins now. but it's 100%. I tried hard & soft reset, taking out the battery, and powering it on again , but it still goes back to this screen. please help me... thanks in advance

why is it like this?

I couldnt find a good title for this thread coz i donno how to explain it!
See the bellow video, first i cannot get to the bootloader screen. Then when the phone is on, after i press the power button the dial pad screen first, and the calendar screen after that will come up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W1CJV0m3Ac
How could I fix this? i cannot even get back to original situation to get for warranty!
I think it's the source of my problem.
PS. i face this problem after i removed S2U (Slide to unlock) software
Can you get to the restore screen? (hold down the two front silver hard keys + Power)
With the phone completely off, You have to hold down the power + volume down button until the bootloader pops up...keep holding it until you see the colored strips.
Try Using the camera button i.s.o the volume down. Works fine for me on my X1
Try this, Connect your phone to the pc, make sure you are connected to the activesync. Then run the the hard spl tool, It should automatically put the phone into bootloader mode.
Thanks for replies,
yes i can get to the bootloader screen using hard spl manual tool, but it will stop on "Loading..." screen and it's not flashing!!!

When it says "Loading..." it means it cannot find KOVSimg.nbh on your SDcard or there is nog USB connecting through which you're trying to update.
i don no but did u check if ur volume key is working...also do a hardrest....stteing>system>clear storage

Yes, my volume key is working fine in windows with no problem!
Actually i've already did a clear storage but.... nothing....
Well I had the same problem when trying to flash from a Vista PC and USD cable. (for the hard SPL, glashing with a SD card worked fine, but you should disconnec the USB cable to be sure that it takes the SD card)
I used my wifes small netbook with XP and there it worked instantly. If you use a Vista machine, try it with an other XP machine.

Mark

Try other ROM, if it was stock Rom so try other cooed ROM, or vice versa
ok try this. Restore your phone to stock spl, Let the hard spl tool put your phone into bootloader mode. Once its in this mode, Try to run Sony ericsson update tool to update it to the R3A firmware.
Hardspl is completley not working!!!
Is there a dead mode method? i think that would help me?

2. Make sure X1 is off
3.-4. You can skip this if X1 is really off
5. Press on the "down volume" (the button you press to decrease volume level) and DO NOT LET GO
6. WHILE STILL PRESSING the volume down key, press the power button AND DO NOT LET GO OF BOTH KEYS until the tricolor screen appears
it still doesnt work sir,
pinoy here
are there requirements in entering bootloader?
please help me, is it required to have my memory card formatted? and my phone is fresh (hard reset)?
If you just want to update your phone, you really don't need to use SEUS. Just flash the WWE R3A stock ROM (it's in the stickied thread in the ROMs section) using the RUU (activesync) method

but in this case it think it's very important to say that it's only that simple if he want's to flash a stock-rom!!!
(meaning "an original rom by SE")
@dlegendkiller:
if you ever want to flash a custom-rom then first read about flashing hard-spl and then do it before flashing custom-roms. if not, you can get into serious trouble. (it's easy and save if you follow the instructions)

honestly, i think you're either doing something wrong here OR your volume-button is broken. regardless of your sd-card you should be able to enter bootloader-mode (the tri-color screen).
are you really doing it this way? to test do it without the usb-cable attached:
- turn your phone off completely
- press your volume-down-button and keep pressing it
- now press the power-button and also keep pressing it
you'll know when to release the buttons yourself.
anyway, can i get some advantages in updating my rom? i really am scared to install custom roms, i might break the phone
and i want to install manila hd, i am wondering why i cant install it
its about "system permissions etc etc"
does it require custom rom?

[help][solved] Vol Down button broken

hey, my volume buttons are broken, (great since i wanted to buy a new phone as of late ) but i was wondering, is there any way to enter bootloader without the vol down button?
Grateful for any help on this.
If I remember right, If you want to flash stock ROM, all you need to do is connect your phone in activesync mode and start the RUU. The RUU will then take care of switching the phone to bootloader and flashing. And keeping in mind that most stock ROM packeges contain radio and SPL you will have a brand new phone (except for the volume buttons)

m_damyanov is right, running the ruu will put the device into bootloader mode. Another option which I read somewhere, but have not tried - if you run the CustomRUU, the files get unpacked in the folder on your pc. One of the files "unpacked" is EnterBootloader.exe - I believe you can copy this to your device and run it from the sd card.

We can't do that because we can't enter "Tri-coloured mode" by pressing vol down then turn power on ,just "USB host mode available" by pressing vol down + camera then turn power on.
Any ideas or advices?

When you use the goldcard method you put the device into USB host mode, not bootloader mode.
To enter USB host mode - Power off the device - Press and hold down the Volume down + Volume up + Camera buttons together and power on the device, this will bring the device into USB host mode and the screen will show, "Enter USB Host Mode...."
Just follow the goldcard tutorial here -
