Hey all, i been out of the xda scene for a while, but ive come back missed my smartphones.
I just brought myself a htc touch hd, on t-mobile unlocked aswell, but i was trying to change the rom update it, but im not getting anywhere.
It goes to bootloader and shows the percentage screen on my phone and pc, but it just fails, just stays at 0%.
Ive also tried installing the rom via memory card but it just stays on the loading screen doesnt go any futher.
Can anybody out there help me with where i am going wrong and how to get around this please.
First of all, have you installed HSPL?

Hi all,
I have been visiting these forums for 2 years now and have downloaded some great tools and ROMs to enhance my Trinity, however something all of a sudden has gone very wrong!
I upgraded to WM6.1 Elegance edition about 3/4 months ago, CID unlocked the phone about a month ago and everything has been working like a dream.
However just today, I attempted to turn the volume down on my phone during a meeting (I always forget to normally!) and there was no display. After few battery resets, again no display. It starts up, loads the the Elegance splash screens and then hangs on the screen before when the OS should appear.
My decision was to flash the ROM again. I cant flash using Activesync as it wont pick up on the hung screen, so I started the bootloader and got as far as 1% of the flash and it will restart. So I tried the SD Card method when resulted in a "loading" screen appearing for a few seconds and then it goes back to the standard bootloader and displayed a 00068002 error.
I am out of ideas, I hear mtty.exe is a good program for this kind of thing, but what I want to know is if this is fixable or if I should give up!
I have been working on this since 2pm today none stop!
Can any of you guys give me any suggestions please?!?!?
Kind regards,
Jonathan
Should be a cinch
Did you SPL the Phone before flashing roms?
If you put the phone into the bootloader mode The RGB screen and kill of activesync you should be able to run one of the flash update programs.
If I have flashing problems its usually Active sync so I kill it then run the flash program.
I've got a sneaky suspision your battery might be causing the problem.
Hi there, thanks for the reply. As I was new to upgrading I havent used SPL on the phone before flashing the ROMS. I did use an unlock tool recently as i wanted to try a different network SIM to see if it worked when I was in South America, so the phone is unlocked to all networks. Are you saying if I SPL now it should sort the problem out? If so how do I do this withour ActiveSync working - can you use SD?
Another thing I failed to mention was that when I start an upgrade and it follows all the steps, it doesnt say the current ROM on the screen where you press update ROM. It just gives the name of the new ROM and the current one is left blank.
I have disabled Active Sync before attempting the update. It seems to go through fine and then the phone restarts wafter 1% of the update.
What makes you think it is the battery? I am happy to spend under 20 pound on ebay if you think it will fix the issue!
try unbrick.bat.......my trinity was also stuck.......unbrick.bat save my day....
The same happened to me several time....I could not find a solution other than this one:
1. Flash the official HTC ROM.
2. Flash the required ROM then.
it works for my TrinTy.
this morning, I restarted my x1 because it was awfully slow this morning. so after I restarted it, it stayed at the sony ericsson splash screen for long time and didn't do anything. I tried to reinstall the rom through SD and it didn't work. Then I hardspl-ed it and tried to reinstall one of my old kovsimg.nbh in it, then now....it won't even turn on!!!
Did I brick my x1??? HOW IN THE WORLD CAN I FIX IT?
my battery is fully charged btw. PLEASE HELP. THIS IS URGENT!!!!!!
I've checked on different forum guides on here and none of which seem to be having what I am looking for.
UPDATE: i just plugged in my phone to the computer and then it popped out a notice on my computer saying that the device is not recognized. "the device is malfunctioned and does not recognize it."
@[email protected]" so what am I to do? do I return it to the store and get them to fix it or is it better just to give it up?
Have you tried a hard reset?
I have, but still no reaction...
I am guessing the x1 is still safe in a sense since the red light is still on.
Can you put it in booloader mode? If so, what version of the spl do you have?
the Phone won't even turn on. no possible way to get into bootloader. when you say spl as in hardspl and also softspl. i'm not quite sure. i just found it on this forum in the latest forum updates.

hey guys, few days back i strung the courage torgether to flash rom.
everything was going well till i noticed that my xperia was updating the rom and seemed to take forever to load the rom.
at present it switches itself on and off and says continuing to update rom and then a white screen with blue text says loading.
I need to find a solution to this as if i tell my dad that the device is cooked im in deep, and i also do not have insurance of which was a dull thing.
so please any suggestions and tips whould be much appriciated ty. x
I am no expert. But have you HardSPL your phone before flashing the ROM? That is a requirement.
For the current prob, I can imagine taking out your SDcard (if you are using card method) should stop it from reading the image. You prob have to hard reset the device for it to boot properly.
hey thanks for reply,
Iv tried removing the sd card but to no evail, when i do this the xperia is stuck at the bootload mode and says continuing to update rom, my battery has drained so i cnt switch the phone on, it has to be dne when on the charger.
and a hard rest does nt work.
Did you HardSPL? If not, you will need to do that first.
Anyway found few threads on it.

Hey guys,
I wanted to send in my device due to problems with the display.
I flashed an official rom from the HTC homepage and removed HardSPL.
I booted into the Stock rom and used it the whole day without problems.
Then I turned it off to send it to HTC to fix my issue, but had to realize that the post office is already closed. Back home I tried to turn on the device again to use it till tomorrow.
Now the phone is stuck at the green HTC letters in the beginning of bootup. In the lower left corner are some information about radio rom etc.
I tried to hardreset but it didnt help. I dont know what to do now, because I just flashed an official rom and even used it some time before the error occured.
I really hope you can help me with this problem.
best regards
Jens

first of all is your phone hard spl'ed ?
running task29 completely wipes the entire os of the phone which is why your phone won't boot all the way
all you have to do is put phone into bootloader mode by holding down volume button while pressing the power button at the bottom of your phone screen it should say serial
now plug phone into computer it now should say usb at the bottom of your phone screen
from here flash whatever rom you are trying to flash & you should be good to go
hope this helps
yes its hard SPLed. activesync doesnt recognize my phone as connected to the PC. I have since been able to somewhat get it off the black screen and back to bootloader and it starts the process of flashing the new rom but then goes back to a black screen.

since you task29'ed activesync is not going to recognize your phone until you flash a rom to it
1.task29
2.flash stock rom
3.task29 again
4.flash new rom
alright now im just stuck with a black screen everytime it starts to flash the new rom it will get about 20-25% and then go back to the black screen. im wondering if my battery isnt charged enough to flash the new rom on there but it doesnt seem to want to charge
well i was making progress until the phone wont stay on long enough to complete the install, it will load the bootloader screen and start to update the new ROM and then before it starts it will go right back to the black screen...any ideas on why?
alright sorry to keep blowing up this post but now i have the ROM flashed but when i turn on the phone, it gets to the ATT boot up screen where the RGB things are and then goes right back to the black screen now what is wrong?
Is the rom you downloaded and attempted to flash CDMA or GSM? If am not mistaken, AT&T is GSM and if you got the rom here chances are you got a GSM one. However, I would double check to see if that's the problem
i got the GSM version it was working until i tried to update from the Dec 27 version to the Jan 6 version of the ROM. im pretty sure ive bricked the phone it just keeps restarting itself itll boot up then get to the BRGD screen and act like it wants to start up but then just shuts back off
is there a GSM and CDMA version of Task29? i dont know what ive done wrong but i really truely hope i havent bricked my phone but im pretty sure i have.
