I have a Qtek 9100 (Wizard clone) and I noticed that my battery is completely drained from my device. I can't find my AC adapter but I have my USB cable to my PC but that won't start recharing it. I recently saw a post that if your battery is completely dead, the USB cable connected to the phone cannot recharge it as it must atleast have 1000mW to charge it? I have tried to find some specs and I want to know exactly what kind of AC adapter I need for that phone? a 5v 2000mW mini USB adapter or something? Not sure what I need. Any ideas?

I saw the specs on it and it does 5V-1A output. I was looking for a dealer in Canada and it seems that most cell phone stores only have AC adapters that ONLY do 0.2-0.5A which I tried and doesn't work. I couldn't find anyone selling a 5V-1A AC adapter.

Do you guys think there is anything special to the charger? When its fully drained, my iPod charger with a mini-USB cable doesn't work either (output is listed as 5V 1.0A).
the only thing special between the wizard charger is that it needs a full 1A, not .5A when the battery is at absolute zero...as for the iPod, i dont discuss apple products, it will turn into a debate hehe...
Thanks for the link to the new dealer Malik05 but he only ships within the US. ( Not Canada ). I saw one other place that might sell an adapter on ebay but the shipping was like $28 for an ac adapter. I am getting abit worried that even an Ipod charger that DOES supply 5V-1A doesn't even charger the phone when it's batteries are completely dead. It doesn't give me much confidence that any other adapter will work. Do you have another ebay link to purchase one that will work?
iPod dosnt have the same connectors as the wizard, what exactly are you talking about?
Sorry if I caused some confusion, I'll try to clarify some things.
I'm having the same problem charging my wizard since I lost my AC adapter over the weekend. I do, however, have the charger from my iPod (which is just an AC adapter with a female USB connector). With this iPod charger and a mini-USB data cable, I used to be able to charge the phone, that is until now. The only difference I can think of, is because the phone's battery is now fully drained.
The iPod charger is listed as 5v, 1.0A and still charges my iPod (using the iPod's dock connector cable).
o okay...i just thought that ipod chargers had their own standard, but anyway..you may need the original wizard charger...becacuse ive seen this problem with Motorola phones, some RAZR phones will not charge unless it is a motorla branded charger...

I just bought a used HD2 without a charger. Seller told me the charger was not working and gave me only the USB cable. I am wondering if I can use my HD charger to charge the HD2. Of course, by swapping the cable.....
Anyone with a HD2 please post the part number/model number of their original HTC HD2 Charger so that I can check whether it is the same thing? Thanks all.....
Oh....Just downloaded a copy of the usual manual for HD2. It stated the original adaptor for HD2 is TC-P300 which is exactly the same as my HD's adaptor. So they are interchangable by swapping the USB cables!
its also the same as my brothers diamond charger
normally, you can use every usb charger.
if it doesnt work with your leo, it won't charge, but nothing should happen to your device.

Same situation, changed from an HD to a HD2.
That's good! That mean any of those car cigarette lighter plug with USB output can be used with the appropriate USB cable to charge our HTC phone in the car? Don't need to buy the original car charger from HTC?
you can also charge your ipod with your hd2 chargers adapter.just connect the ipods' usb cable to the charger and plug in

i would say about 99,9% does it. maybe there are 1 or 2 out there, which dont work. but normally, all of them should work.

Yup, but check Tbattery. I have this tool in NRG rom and it shows you how much current goes, or comes, from your battery.
From what I believe is that there are 2 states and 2 modes.
The mode is actually the source to where your HD2 is connected to. This is either a standard USB port on your laptop or the other one a charger.
If it is connected to the standard USB port it will draw a max of 500mA which is the max a USB should be able to deliver.
The charger can provide 1 Amp which is 1000mA, which means half the charge time till full.
You have to know that there are actually 4 conductors on the 'big' USB connector. Ground, 5 Volt and D+ and D- (the actual data).
The HD2 knows that it is connected to the charger when D+ and D- are connected to eachother. (no harm done btw)
Now some carchargers can deliver 1 Amp but they don't have the D's shorted and the HD2 only pulls 500mA from it since it doesn't see it as a 'HTC' charger.
The state is determined on the batt's %
If it is below 90% I believe it charges at full Amps (depending on the mode) above it goes in slow charge.
Looks like nowaday, we just need an adaptor with a USB output and various USB cables to charge different phones. Not too long ago, we need to carry one charger for each phone. haha....

I use a Nokia N97 car charger and it works very well. I'm guessing a normal N97 power adapter could work as well to charge your HD2.

Any USB port should be able to charge your HD2 & micro USB is the new standard charging specification, so it should become really common over time.
However, be careful what else you plug in! I bought a 3.2mm to micro USB adapter. It was fine on a standard Nokia charger (which delivered about 4.5 volts), but another one which put out about 7 volts, blew my poor HD2 up :-(
I got it repaired though. They replaced the main board = new IMEI etc, which would have been expensive out of warranty! Lucky me, but being without my HD2 was kinda hell!
I have checked the voltage out of that car charger. A friend of mine tested it before too on his HD2. N97 has a bigger voltage battery (1500 mA). He had problems finding a decent car charger for his HD2. He eventually bought 2 non-original chargers for an N97 and HD2. He took the connector from the non-original HD2 car charger, he cut off the connector for the N97 and he put the HD2 connector (he is an electrician, do not try this if you don't know what you are doing). He advised me to buy an original N97 charger that should work. I did buy one original car charger and I am satisfied with it. My HD2 is still in one piece without any service calls. I am saying that a N97 car charger should work just fine on an HD2.

This might have happened to me? It would not charge with my 500 ma USB supplies (computer nor the AC USB power adapter. Nor would it charge with my AC USB power adapter of 1 amp.
So I used my HTC HD2 car charger, plugged into my AC-12 volt car charger outlet, and it charged ok.
Two weeks later, nothing. So waiting for an external HTC HD2 battery charger from an eBay supplier. Tried different HTC HD2 batteries & HTC HD2 USB cables. No luck yet.
Can you share car chargers and wall chargers that work normally with the Tab (fast charging)?
I've ordered few chargers from ebay but they all trigger the "not charging" icon and only do trickle charge. It's driving me crazy, and I don't want to spend 30$ to get the original Samsung chargers
Ive been using my moto milestone charger with samsung cord. It works...i dont get the "not charging" icon but it does seem to take a little longer. One wierd thing I noticed though...it doesnt give the "baweep" notification sound when I plug it in..unless I plug the prop. Cable into the tab from an angle..."S" side of the cable first then kinda tilt it all the way in in one motion. Sounds strange I know, but it works.

Get one of these and you can use whatever charger you like, although you will need a 2A charger if you want it to be as quick as the stock charger.

Just read about the scosche gobatt 2 charger. It comes with a galaxy tab adapter and has a 2 amp output. I am going to get one off of ebay.

It shoud work, but very slowly. I have a car-USB adaptor and charged the phone with it, but it barely keeps the battery level. I bought a direct car charger and it charges very very fast (but the phone warms a lot). You'd better buy one, mine is a dealextreme one, very cheap.

The standard mains power adaptor that comes with the phone is 1000mA so no it won't damage it.
Even a 5000mA won't, the phone will draw as much current as it needs.

I use an original Nokia N97 car charger and I never had any problems. I suggest you do the same, they are a little more expensive than the other ones, but a car charger has to be able to give enough juice to the phone while running. A friend of mine uses a similar charger for his HD2, he even tried a charger with several normal USB ports and they can't supply enough power for the phone.
Thank you all for the replies. I have seen both chargers, and the Nokia N97 one is even cheaper on Amazon. I will probably go with the Motorola one, as it seems to have enough power for the HD2. I was able to find out that its maximum output is 950mah, which is not bad for a cell phone charger.
Looks also like a more durable one, and if the manufacturers won't change the port soon, might be able to get it to charge my future phones as well.
Now for a car mount, I will probably go with the Exomount, as I have read some very nice things about it, plus it is universal, so I'll be able to have it hold much more than this phone.
Hope this thread helps someone with the same questions as I had.
Micro usb is the agreed standard amongst most mobile phone manufacturers to reduce wastage in having to produce umpteen different power adaptors, plus it reduces manufacturing costs.

amen to that , I was tiered of having so many different charges at home. At least at that time Nokia ruled the world (mobile world I mean), and most of them were Nokia chargers, hehe
But I prefer the micro usb norm. I just hope they will not invent a mini micro usb in the new devices. My xperia x1 and touch pro use a mini usb, which was the standard at that time

I have a 500ma car charger, but when using the GPS it doesn't really charge, it seems that it only gives the same amount as the drain. (few days ago when I had 64% I connected the charger and drove for another hour or so, GPS always active, upon arrival battery was 63%)
will a 1000ma charger "charge" the battery during long drives?
I have a Brodit Active holder it works very well.
With GPS and Navigon on still charging.

yes that will do the job,
if it does not, solder the 2 inner terminals together and that will make your phone think it plugged into the mains charger
i bought a cheap 1amp usb charger from deal extreme and did the above
Be careful with the soldering. If the charger can't supply 1A, it might damage the phone /car/charger.
