how can i free more sapce from program memory? - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

Hi All,
how can i move things from program memory to storage memory?
Thanks, Lior.

Do you mean just transfering files from phone memory to your storage card or moving progams?

yes, just transfering files from phone memory to your storage card and also moving progams

For the regular file transfer just sync your phone to your computer. Click the explore icon in the upper right corner on the activesync. Click the my windows mobile device. Then open the file that has your backup files copy them to the storage card folder, and delete them off the device. That is how I do it some one might know an easier way.
As for Programs I had to reinstall and have them instal to the card.
Hope this helps.

My problem is not the storage free space on my phone. the problem is that when i open some software after a soft reset i got a message that saying "you don't have enough memory to run this application" i need to release 15mb and i don't know how to do this, i've tried few software but it still a problem now i have 8mb free.
please help me!
Thanks, Lior.

why i cant send files to my tytn2

hi guys...i am new here, and new to my kaiser too....
well, i try to copy some videos to it from my pc, some 300mb video file
however, when i try to send it using active sync, it just say not enough space and cant sent
i got a 2gb memory card, and i hardly use it (just use like less then 10mb)
so i am guessing does it send to the kaiser internal phone memory? or what?
anyone can help ?
if you are copying it over through file explorer, make sure you select a directory on the storage card to copy it over to (Mobile Device -> My Windows Mobile Device -> Storage card), and not to the default directory as that is your "my documents" directory on the PDA's main memory.

HTC Diamond Music and Content File inside Internal Storage

Inside the Internal Storage, it should have two directory, MUSIC and CONTENT. Could someone upload it?
Are you having a problem with your internal storage folder?

Jreach, I'm having the same problem as you. I had access to my internal storage and lost it within 20 minutes of receiving the device. I can't reformat using Clean Storage (mass storage cannot be accessed) nor can I see the internal storage using memory, storage card (no card installed message). All of this happened PRIOR to connecting my phone to the pc.
When I use active sync (and Windows Media Player to sync music), I cannot see the internal storage. Windows Media Player doesn't see it either. When I use file explorer or whatever the other option is, I see a removeable drive on my PC. I cannot reformat it. If I double click on it on my xp machine I get an error message saying the "F:\ is not accessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
Given that, I suspect we will not be able to fix this and must return our Diamonds to Sprint. Please let me know if you find a solution. Thanks.

Which folder is 4MB storage?

When I go to Active Sync and click Explore, I get a folder view that confuses me! There is no C: drive and I know there is two types of storage on my HTC Touch Diamond.
What is the My Windows Mobile-Based Device folder? If I double click that, I can see a list of folders, one of which says Internal Storage. Is that the 4MB of memory that the Diamond has? Or am I confused!
Thanks,
Jon
There is no 4MB memory but the internal memory is 4GB.
Yes, Internal Storage has 4GB
So does that mean the forlder called Internal Storage is the 4GB of internal memory?
Yes .
Remember that the folder is invisible while the Diamond is connected to the PC.
Thanks guys!

Only when connecting your phone as a disk drive. In active sync it remains visible.
I notice that a system file for a program has this:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/program"
If I want to store it in the internal storage folder, what do I change the %SDCARD% to?

Iternal storage, but it is language sensitive, so you use the name displayed in the TD file manager.
if it's for iGO8 you don't need to do it just get the 8.0.0.44366 update and install
easiest way to determine which folder it is is to unplug the diamond and go to file explorer to rood folder
you will see a small sd card sign by the name of the folder, and that's the one, doesn't matter in which language, icon is the same
So %SDCARD% doesn't automatically look for any SD card on your device?

even disconnected from usb 4GB Internal storage not found

Hi all,
My problem with Diamond is that I can not access to 4GB storage memory. When it is disconnected from usb the 4GB can not be found anywhere. I tried formating also but storage not found. When I connect Diamond to pc via USB, then there is also not found as disc in windows. I tried to restart diamond but it didn't help.
Please help.
Thank you.
Tom
you need to hard reset it
OK thank you, I will try it. But I thougt that hard reset doesn't touch storage card. Doesn't it only reset ram and rom 256MB?
Yes but your problem is with the system, not with the 4GB themselves (which are NOT a storage card btw).
When it is disconnected from usb the 4GB can not be found anywhere
Anywhere? That's pretty diffuse and can mean... anything. If its not in explorer under internal memory (shows up as a folder, not a drive), then yes you got a problem. Likewise if you connect via USB file system (not activesync) and it doesnt show up as a drive, again you got a problem.

You can choose from reset only ram or reset ram and format 4GB internal storage.
i think you must format internal storage too.....

yes the folder "internal storage 2" is not in the listing of folders (of course diamond is not connected to pc)
and when I connect it to pc and choose "disc" (not active sync) then it is not found ....the letter is created in pc but it is not accessble.

When I try to restart diamond and run format 4GB internal storage then the program said that somethink like "no internal storage found".
looks like you have a serious problem.
you might need to take it for repair.
contact your supplier.
Hi all!
I did hard reset (I chose hard reset with deleting NAND - volume down in hard reset menu) and now the storage works fine. I am very happy that I don't need to send Diamond to service.
Have a nice day and thanks for all advices.
Tom
same problem -
is there anyway to avoid HR???

Please explain what you mean by "deleting NAND". Thanks.
Same problem, sigh....
One thing I notice is if I browse the windows device itself on Windows XP Explorer I can see the folder for the storage card. I can open it but its empty.

It was just written in menu when selecting hard reset. reset with deleting NAND and reset without deleting NAND.... I think the NAND is the 4GB memory.
I know how to fix it!!!
Hi,
i have same problem with this. I formated storage card with windows XP and this is the problem!!! After i didnt see storage card in diamond explorer. I try everything Soft Reset, HR, edit register and nothing. And this help me with problem: Format Sotrage card with this program "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool". Google it and you will see.
BUT the capacity of storage card is now only 3,6 GB. I dont know how to fix it,but is better then nothing.
Sorry for my bad english.
Is it a Sprint Diamond? If so, I just got out of the same boat.
Try http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=148&cat=2&dl_id=436 - the Diamond Storage Fix.

I have Touch Diamond. Not Sprint Diamond. But thanks for reply.
Internal Storage vs SD Card Slot
I seem to come across an increasing number of issues with internal storage. Can it really get corrupted or have a limited life span just like the MicroSD cards? I am using a diamond and am contemplating upgrading to the Touch HD but the latter does not use internal storage. I was wondering which is more superior in terms of durability. Of course, I can also wait for the Asus P835 which has both. Any advice and views will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Well done! Your HP USB Format tool worked! Thanx mate!

Internal Storage Issue

Hi,
my internal storage is not showing correct size.
i have 2Gb of data on internal memory and it says 700Mb of free space instead of 1.8Gb
Does windows use this space ?? How can i use that space ?
Thanks
I assume you deleted some files (or so you might have thought) and these no longer show up somehow. I had this problem once. If you backup the stuff you want to keep and then use Pocket Mechanic to format your internal storage and then put back your backup stuff, you should find the storage size is now correct.
is it that if i delete a file through my PC (Disk mode) the phone doesnt know about it and assume it to be occupied.
will try it out if i dont find option other then formatting my internal memory.
