Help Restoring Xperia to Original

I just got a used xperia and i want everything back to original.
it has been hard spl which i think is preventing me from being able to update using ericsson update service.
It also has touch-it xperiance, which i effectively removed from the today menu, but the remnants of it are everywhere. I think its from the manila hd cab but im not sure.
the dialer is still tf3d, so are the notifications, as well as comm manager and im not sure what else
i dont want to hard reset because of all the other settings i put on widows mobile
i guess i probably need to remove tf3d and its cronies, re establish the original xperia user interface (touch-it xperiance 6.1 still shows up on startup), and put in the original spl which i can kind of figure out from previous threads but i need help with tf3d cause i dont want to screw up my phone!!!
thank you....

Please look around in this subforum or use the search. I think you're the third person in two weeks who asks this question.
To help answer your question:
If you can connect to SE update service and update from there, you will flash the latest official rom. That means that all stuff on the device (not on the sd-card) will be gone anyway. You can do a hard reset, which has the same effect but will restore the rom that was last flashed.
If you want to use an official rom, you have to flash stock spl. You can find that in the hard-spl thread (one of the sticky topics in the top of this forum).
Another way to obtain an official rom is to look in the rom library (also a sticky in this subforum), and look for the R3A rom you want. You probably want one with a specific language and maybe even a provider. Just look around in the R3A rom list to see which suits you best.
having the touch it xperience means you do not hav a stock rom
so you must flash a stock rom if you want it stock
look in the official rom thread, don't waste your time with SE update!
also if you flash a rom you must hard-reset anyway!
To go back to original, you need to follow these steps:
1) Download the stock rom for your country from the same forum, usually it's the Generic_UK.
2) Flash this stock rom to your mobile (this will clear all your settings and remove all data). IMPORTANT: Before doing this step, download PPCPIMBackup tool and backup all your data using this tool.
Additionally, you may have to restore your stock radio(not FM radio) BEFORE proceeding to Step 3 if it has been modified, search the forum on how to identify and do this.
3) Download the Hardspl utility and the stock rom's "ruu_signed.nbh". You'll find both in the Hardspl sticky post here. Connect your phone and run Hardspl, but before clicking "Next" in the first step, replace the "ruu_signed.nbh" in Hardspl's folder with the stock one you downloaded. Now continue hardspl and your stock SPL will be restored. IMPORTANT: Make sure you don't have a file named "Kovsimg.nbh" in your memory card before you do this or else it may not work.
Now you're done restoring everything to original. If you just want the stock OS, but wanna keep the hard spl for later modification to rom then you can skip Step 3. But unless you do Step 3, you will not be able to use the SE update service and any remaining warranty you have is still void.
NOTE: Make sure you restore stock OS and stock radio(not FM radio) before stock SPL, that is do Step2 before Step3.
Summary of things you need:
1) PPCPIMBackup tool to backup all your data.
2) Stock ROM(OS) for your mobile, additionaly the stock radio.
3) Hardspl utility and the stock spl file - you can skip this if not needed.
stock radio is included with stock roms!

Glad it helped you. When I first came to this forum, I was confused too. Then I figured it out. Well.. I think the radio here refers to the transmitter. Radios might differ based on country as different countries have different bands on which the mobile operators work. I think the radio referred here is just the driver file which makes the transmitter in the phone work.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I searched but never found any topic that explains what an xperia radio is. I'm assuming what I thought is correct.

To further clarify, it's the PHONE transmitter, the one that lets you call and send messages and go on the internet. It is not an FM transmitter or receiver.
Is there any difference if you have a X1i or X1a when flashing any of the original ROMs in the sticky topics here?

hy gujs,
please help me, i need to bring back my stock rom, 6.1, but dont know how! my vibra is broken, i have guarantie, but they want to official 6.1 rom.. now i have 6.5 rom heeelpp
b.u.m.p.
.
Look in the ROM section and just flash the generic UK one... R3A.
Also don't forget to return to the stock spl found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
I had no problems with a warranty job after returning to stock rom and spl.
extra how to: how to restore Stock SPL for warranty reasons.
step by step:
- this is ONLY for warranty reasons. i.e. the device needs repair and you have to send it to htc to get it serviced. if you plan to restore hardspl then don't even bother flashing this stock package, unless you are some kind of hacker/dev
- IMPORTANT: be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
- now the steps
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. download X1_HardSPL_v1 too, from this post.
3. run the hardspl package, but do not press Next button i.e do not go ahead with flash yet.
4. at this point, take the extracted stock SPL, a RUU_Signed.NBH file, and overwrite the other RUU_Signed.NBH in hardspl package.
5. go on with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to tricolour screen with 0.52.OliNex version), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+1. to verify, enter bootloader (see description above in this post), and check version number on tricolour screen. it should say 0.72.0000.
this is what i found, but how to return stock OS?! can i overwrite 6.5? all next step i understand!
have you tried following the steps provided?
there is nothing different to flashing a 6.1 and 6.5
Hey guys.
Just on this. I downloaded a generic image, but how do I load a *.IMAGE file? CustomRUU doesn't do anything, and SE updater won't recognise the phone.
Thanks in advance.
u must rename .image to kovsimg.nbh
So.. issue solved?
solved, have forgot to delete image of wm6.1 from my memori stick! now is solved and evverything is oke, x1 is now to authorized repair!
thx all, if someone have problem like i just ask here will help
cheers

Please help me

Hi i am trying to update my x1 firmware but i keep getting this error "The Phone contain manipulated software and is not supported by this application". Can someone please help me i beg u
Are you trying to update your phone with SEUS? And are you currently using a custom cooked ROM?
Try to flash a stock ROM first, after that put softSPL back and last update with SEUS.
hi thx u for the reply, i tried to update it from the sony site but got that error, yeah i think it is a custom rom, i bought it second hand and it turns out like this.
Im not too smart with technology, can you guide me what to do???
What OS are you on now? Wm6.1 or wm6.5? You can check in Start - Settings - System - About.
Well....do you want to go back to a stock ROM or do you want a custom ROM? In other words, do you want wm6.1 or wm6.5?
If you want to go back to a stock ROM:
1) look here for your stock ROM and download it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
2) read first and flash your device with the stock ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445662
3) read on how to restore softSPL and do it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
4) now your able to update with SEUS
If you want a new custom ROM:
1) search which ROM you want to try first and download it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=471
2) read first and flash your device with the custom ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445662
Remember when you flash a new ROM (custom or cooked) your devices memory will get completely erased, so DO A BACK-UP FIRST!
I strongly advice to read as much as possible before flashing your device, primarely the stickies in the ROM thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=471).
hi thxs for all the info, i just want to restore it to its original way instead of the fancy stuff

Need help with original update

Hello,
I've got a Xperia X1 with this ROM:Energy.XPERIA.21905.Sense2.1.Jun.18.7z.
But I got a problem, my microphone doen't work anymore, people can't hear me when i'm calling them. So i wanna bring my phone back to the shop and let the insurence do the rest . But before I go to the store, I will put the original Sony Eriksson software back on my device. But when I do the update I got a message with "software is illegal, can't update the device".
How can i put the original software back on my phone? Can't find it on this forum.
Thx for helping
Download your stock ROM from PavelX1's sticky in the Xperia ROM subforum, rename the *.image to *.nbh and flash your phone.
After that you need to restore stock SPL, see for a describtion and the stock SPL the hardSPL thread.
When you're done with the steps mentioned above you can update your phone with SEUS, if you've downloaded a R3A stock ROM SEUS will only update your SPL to 0.78.0000.
THx.. gonna try it this evening.. see private message aswell

noone answering him? Oo
dude, you're running a custom-rom, that's why seus is blocking you. read up on how to manually flash a rom, because that's what you have to do.

aah...can u help me out??? to manually flash a rom????.... a link or something??? what i've to do???
guys no 1's helping???
It happened to me once.
Regarding you have "manila version 2.5.20113030.0" and your OS version, you have a custom ROM installed, and this means also you have HSPL installed in your device.
To get your device recognized by SE update service, you have to flash a *stock* ROM, and also a stock SPL.
After doing these two steps, your device will be recognized.
You must be familiar with flashing ROMs, and you should search the whole forum for stock ROMs and SPL, before attempting to flash anything..(I'm not responsible for any damage)
As a suggestion, refer to this thread for a detailed info on the subject
and also this thread for Stock SPL (see "extra how to: how to restore Stock SPL for warranty reasons." section)

Hello please help my Sony Ericsson X 1 Rom 1.05.931.10 Radio 1.06.25.29 Manila 2.5.20212114.0 Wi-Fi connection is working, but I can not open a webpage or use any program that uses the Net also how enter the Settings text messages do not know where please help please
sorry for late reply... but can u thread me to stock rom and stock spl plzzz....
Unfortunately, the Xperia X1 is now an old device, and the links to its stock items are rare and not working any more.
I managed to find links for the stock ROM (Generic UK WWE, latest version provided by SE which is R3A)
Here it is:
Part 1
Part 2
After you download the two parts, rename the file extension from .image to .nbh, and if you are using the SD card method, rename the file to kovsimg.nbh
Be sure to read about flashing ROMs and changing the SPL, if you did it the wrong way you may damage your device.
thanx i'll try and tell u soon...
