Hi all,
Just got my 2nd new Kaiser (first one had White Screen of Death) and it also has the home page as a black screen with the HTC logo; not too usefull. Any ideas how to get back the Welcome Screen that has your most recently opened pages and search? Thanks for any ideas...
Ok, well I tried just copying over the default_0409.htm file (checked and all the image files etc. were already in the Windows directory). This brings up the correct looking page, but the Favourites and History buttons don't work; they open File Explorer at the Windows directory instead!
Would be glad for any ideas for what is missing on my Kaiser that I could copy over from the Hermes.
I have attached the file if anyone would care to have a look; I searched to see if any other html pages were linked for example, but I don't know script...
I tried the same thing but no luck
*bump*
Does no one else want this start page in IE? Thanks in advance for any ideas...
bump, that page is on the Mio A501 and it's pretty neat !
Guess no one else likes that page, thanks for the bump though! I have been fiddling but still can't get it to work....
Solved ------> HTC's PIE_Default_409.htm
Okay, There are two ways to do this!!!! The first is time consuming & involves multiple registry changes. I can walk you through it or send you a registry file to import (if you wanna trust me ) or you can do it the easy way!
Easy Way: I'm sure many of you have the absolutely great proggy SK Tools. Well, the new release (4.1.21.x) has a "Replaced Rom Files" function. So either buy the great program or download the trial. Launch the "Replaced Rom Files" tool & check the box for the item marked PIE_Default_xxx.htm (xxx = your language code), either click & hold or check the box, then select action, then select "Restore Rom File". Then enjoy your new "original" HTC PIE Homepage with expandale History & Favorites!

Not sure, might help if you post a JPEG of the screen? The TXT file you included does not work for me.
I just put together a cab file for this today using some files posted by another xda member (I don't remember who it was to credit them).

DANG IT YOU DOG! I jumped the gun on my post! I spent the last week flashing back & digging to find all the references that kept me from changing the by just importing the default_xxx.htm. I finished my cab & logged back in to post it & darn it all if you hadn't beat me to it!

LOL. It's pretty simple to correct with all the correct files. I actually just copied the files to my Windows directory when I first tried it out but figured I'd post a cab file to make it easier on everyone else
thanks for sharing, works fine on the Nike too.
Hi,
I tried running the CAB on my stock Orange HTC ROM, but I still get the orange homepage, not the (more useful) Internet Explorer page as promised above! Any ideas?
Your folder structure must be different. Did you soft reset after install? Otherwise you can do it with SK Tools if it was part of the original ROM.
I did soft reset, but no joy. I may look into SK Tools, although I have just managed to get Opera Mini up and running, so may play around with that instead. Thanks for the advice!

You can go into PIE under Menu, Tools, Options, and see the path and filename for your current homepage. It's possible that Orange uses a different filename as the default page. If you tell me what the filename is and where it's located I can make an updated cab for you.

Here you go. This file is for devices with the Orange ROM only!
You can uninstall the old one first.
Are you guys able to browse with PIE while on 3.5G/HSDPA?
After I open PIE, I receive this same screen on my Tilt, but I'm unable to browse anywhere (my hsdpa account is activated, of course).
I receive (in the bottom left corner) a message: "connecting", but nothing happens.
On the other hand, If I browse with WIFI on, using PIE, I can enter any URL without any problems at all.
In both cases, I can send & receive emails without any problems.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
As I replied to your other post, check your proxy settings. Which data plan do you have? Are you connecting to WAP or ISP?
I'm using an AT&T Tilt with the default ROM, no modifications, just added software. My text and email messages are opening at the end of the message. The scrollbar is scrolled all the way down. On really long messages, like long emails, it won't be scrolled all the way to the end, but down quite a ways. Does anyone know what might be causing this, or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
did ya install kaisertweak? I read somewhere on this forum that that tool is causing that problem
No, I haven't installed that. But thank you for asking. I may check those references and see if anyone with that problem has found a solution...
try this , and please let us know!

That was it. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! Your original hunch was probably correct. I haven't installed that program but I did manually edit the registry to do that tweak. I didn't even think it was relevant cause I thought it only affected PIE. Looks like I have lots more reading to do at these boards. Thanks again for your help, and quick response...
I posted this in another thread, I have the Tweak installed on my Tilt and have the 4-Way Nav already set to 1. It still does this, very annoying. Any other suggestions?
didn't work on my HTC TyTN II either the suggested registry value value was already 1. I've been fiddling with KaiserTweak earlier.
working on htc tytn2! finaly i do not need to scroll down.
(it was coused by tweak2k.net on my device)

Yea, been there, done that, still no luck. The default was already set to "1" so it must be something else. The investigation continues.

Nothing new, so I use Pocket CM now to do my texting, works much better anyways and has threaded messaging!
Does anybody know of a program in which when you receive a call it gives you the option of ignoring them and sending a SMS instead?
I think Dutty had this option in one of his ROMs.
Also, there is an app that is called "Ignore with SMS" - but every download location I've found for it doesn't work.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you! This is exactly what I've spent hours looking for!
You can try photo contacts pro too. Although it's kinda heavy. It's got lots of features & large full screen caller id photos as well as sms tones & ringtone for groupd or individuals.

I am having problems with that link... is there a cab or file attached here?
Hi,
does anybody know how to change the softkey in the mail menue. My Problem is that when i receive outlook pushmail emails and i open a email that i want to answer i have only the option reply to all. In my old device i had the key reply or answer (it´s german ROM).
any ideas? because actually i have to go to menue and then reply. that works but the direct softkey Reply (not to all) would be better.
I have bepe's ROM v0.52 (German) and have noticed it too.
I think this is a translation error. Instead of "Antworten" it says "Allen Antworten".
that's no translation error, it's also in the standard wwe
roms.
i've noticed this since i have my diamond, but i don't
want to bother anyone here with that, because i think
that htc will fix this in a future release.
perhaps a regkey exists in which we could fix this for
ourself, i will investigate that!
for now, there is a simple solution: go to "menue>reply>reply"
and you would have the standard reply...
regards,
markus
Hello all,
I'd like to re-open this discussion, as this 'feature' is really quite a pain.

I hear ya, but this is what this forum is for; I don't think people will mind.
Has anyone come across a way of modifying this soft key to once again serve as a "reply" only finction instead of "reply all"?
Any insight would be much appreciated!
Regards,
I came across this "bug" also, but I solved it by entering my own email address in the advanced options of my email account. When you don't do that and you hit the reply all button, you will reply to the original sender, but also to yourself.
This is how to do it:
1. Open active sync
2. Click MENU
3. Select: OPTIONS
You now see the items to synch with your exchange server.
4. Select EMAIL
At the bottom you have 2 buttons, DELETE and CONFIGURE (or something else in your own language)
5. Click CONFIGURE
You are now in the Syncoptions for e-mail screen
6. Click the Advanced button
In the Advanced email options screen, at the bottom you can fill in your email address.
7. Fill in your email address and finish all the upcomming screens.
When you now hit the Reply All button, you only reply to the original sender and not to yourself anymore. Furthermore there is no way to change it to reply instead of Reply All.

Absolutely! What a dumb feature. Here is your fix my friends and, yes, that's why we're all here.
Using any Registry editor (like CeRegedit) here's the key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\OutlookEnhancement
Change the OutlookEnhancement dll value data to "" (double quote) and then soft reset.
Hope this makes sense to you but it works as I've been doing it after every hard reset for months and months!
Cheers
Brilliant!!!!!
Thanks very much for the fix, WMguy; it worked like a charm! On a side note, I find it a bit odd that they'd consider this an 'enhancement'
Thanks also to MRE-net for the suggestion. I in fact already had my email address assigned to the account, and didn't actually experience the problem of emails returning to my own account; it just bothered me that the "reply all" button was still present when it didn't make any sense, and I knew there HAD to be a proper solution. Turns out there was!
Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions. That's why I love this forum!
Keep up the good work!
Regards,

Hi there,
using a touch Diamond and some time ago went through a ROM upgrade and used Sprite Backup.
On the messagign screen I now have some phantom mail boxes on the right hand side. If you click on the envelope it will come up saying "no Messages". If you then click on inbox it will take you to the Select an Account screen (as the selected account doesn't actually exist)
If you go through to the Windows Mobile interface you can only see the current mailboxes which are configured.
I have looked into the option of creating a new backup and hard reset and restore without the mail and configure all over again but would like to avoid this as I have found in the past this leaves me with duplicate records (due to sycing with multiple machines).
I am looking to find where I need to go to remove the phantom mailboxes. Looking around I am assuming there must be some configuration files or registry elements for TouchFlo which tells it to display the folders.
Does anyone know where this information is to edit or delete? All ideas are welcome and encouraged.
Thanks in advance

i have the same problem.Did you find the solution for this? Please post.
I have the exact same problem and it's quite anoying
i had the problem once too, and then I was advised to use the file i'm posting here. Copy to phone and run the .exe from phone.
I got it from another thread here on XDA-Devs, but don't remember who to credit.. Post if successful.
