I got my Kaiser/Tilt set to -4 Atlantic Time zone, no daylight savings. I sync it with both my desktop & my laptop, but when I sync with my laptop my clock settings change to -4 Atlantic Time zone, with daylight savings.
Both my desktop & laptop are set to -4 Atlantic Time zone, no daylight savings, so I don't understand what's happening. I'd also like to know if there's a setting so my Tilt can get the time from the network (Like all other cellphones).

I am using the Tilt. I set ActiveSync to sync during peak times "as items arrive" and then within 24 hours it's back at "manual". I think it has to do with the network switch from Edge 9at home) to 3G (at work) but I don't know for sure. Each morning after arriving at my office it occurs to me no email has arrived for a while and, lo and behold, it's set to manual again.
Hi, in my n1 the clock is not set on the right time.
It is always running two or three hours before the right time.
check your time zone in settings-->date&time
I have cheeked but there is still a problem
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
If you don't have the clock set by your provider and don't specify the correct time zone, your clock might be off. Specify the correct time zone and set the clock correctly.
If you have the clock set by your provider ("Automatic" is on), then address your provider.
Just turn off automatic time and set it yourself. If you set the time zone correctly it's probably your carrier
I have the Galaxy S I9000
If I turn on the Wifi and its got a signal, will that take over from my Network usage on the broadband.
I only download emails to my phone (7 Accounts) but this month my Usage has been very high.
Normally each month reads 830Mb/1GB (Mb's left/Allowance) Give or take 50Mb
This month it was 131.33Mb/1Gb
I don't know where the usage has gone as I'm doing nothing different then before.
Most of my usage is 5-30 Kb with the odd 600 Kb
I checked my data usage over 4 days and its averaging about 2.8Mb a day. I can't see how I have used almost 1Gb for a month.
The only things added to the phone in the last month was Amazon Kindle/Xbox Live and PowerAMP
When I download a book from Amazon I always turn on my WiFi and have 3-4 bars.
Is my phone using my Network Data usage even though I have the WiFi on.
PS my wife has 1 email address on her phone and see never uses her data for anything other then checking her Gmail. She only had 17 simple text emails last month and here usage was also reading 133.78Mb/1Gb. I can't see how she has used up her quota for the month.
Both phone are on separate accounts and connected to the METEOR IRELAND network.

Not unless you turn the mobile data OFF >. suggest quick settings from the market .

Smartphone is data always on and background sync and apps use data 24 hours .
Unless turned off >. Quick settings mobile data off unless needed .

I installed Quick Settings and turned off mobile data but left on MMS data.
Thanks for the help with this. It means that I can now disable mobile data quickly when I'm in a wifi hot spot.
Because everything loads quickly when my WiFi is on (A lot quicker then when its off) I assumed it was not using mobile data at all. Silly me
Just carried out a little test on the phone using Quick Settings.
I turned off WiFi and enabled mobile data, I then turned on WiFi and the Mobile Data automatically disconnected when the WiFi was enabled.
I'm not sure if it always did this or if its only since in installed quick settings.
If Mobile Data does not switch off then in quick settings you can use Mobile Data APN as the preferred setting for on /off .
I am using Auto Wifi toggle with quick settings to aid battery life .

I cant explain your problem, but I use a program called Tasker that might solve your issue.
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/
I have it set to turn on 3G when I unlock the screen and turn it off again when the screen turns off. I also turn on 3G for two minutes every 30 minutes and auto-sync my email.
With this program you can also set you WiFi to turn on based on your location and a host of other things. There is a 7 day trial in the Market.
I installed 3G watchdog about a month ago and I have been keeping an eye on my data usage.
Since the month started I have only used about 10mb. This its consistent with every other month since I got the phone.
I think the high usage last month was a network issue. Its something I'm going to have to keep an eye on as I don't want the buggers charging me for something I haven't used.
One day i forgot to switch on my phone and i started my watch from shut down. I noticed that my watch was auto connected to my router but it could not sync the date and time. Is that normal?
When i switched on my phone everything was ok.
Is it possible NTP server time sync?
Hi there,
I'm looking to create a profile that will trigger every time I'm having my weekly train commute and will compile different useful tasks for train riding like launching the Wi-Fi hotspot (so I can go online on my laptop) and mute the ringer, and some other stuff. I'm looking for some aid about about how to manage this through.
I thought about triggered this profile by using the speed data, but in that case it will launch on every ride I have, even when I'm riding my motorbike. So now I'm looking for something more sophisticated. Because I depart and arrive on regular stations and on regular times each week I want to have four new profiles - two for the the each of the two station I'm getting to and from of, for each commute occasion, setting one for the time window when I'm usually departure and one for arriving occasion. Those four will be used only as a platform. The train ride profile (a fifth one) will triggered by both of the departure profiles when I'll get to the station at the desired time and will turned off by the arriving stations profiles when I'll reach my destination station at the right time.
Doe's it make any sense? How can I pull this through?
Try WiFi near if the stations have a specific WiFi. That way, you don't need a time context.
You can use location with a time window you describe. That way, the device isn't trying to identify your location continuously outside of the time window you set.

Thanks for the answer but you didn't got me. completely. I don't have a problem to detect the station location, the problem starts when the train leave the station and I want the profile to keep going on until I arrive at my destination station.
So use a speed evaluation combined with having the WiFi in proximity.

It makes no sense, two reasons why:
1) When the train leave the station I'm loosing contact with any Wi-Fi
2) One of the reason I'm using Tasker to begin with is that I want my Wi-Fi to operate only when I'm in my home or in my workplace. The profile I want to operate on my train ride includes turning on my phone's hotspot (so I can use my laptop online during the ride). So I can't use any Wi-Fi network even if I want to.
3) I simply need to figure out a way how to trigger the "train ride" profile I want to have by other profile (station location profile in this case).

You can detect whether a WiFi network is nearby without connecting to it. You can use the WiFi's presence as the initial step to your process. Set a variable, them the exit task waits some time and a second profile looks for the variable to be set and some movement to be achieved.
Or not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You could always use a shortcut, or an NFC tag or location as I suggested before.
Create four profiles based on time and location.
One that's triggered at the train station A and in the average departure time of your commute to work.
Add an enter task which sets the variable $TrainStationCommute to A.
One that's triggered at the train station B and in the average arrive time of your commute to work.
Add an enter task which sets the variable $TrainStationCommute to B.
One that's triggered at the train station B and in the average departure time of your commute to home.
Add an enter task which sets the variable $TrainStationCommute to B.
One that's triggered at the train station A and in the average arrive time of your commute to home.
Add an enter task which sets the variable $TrainStationCommute to A.
Add another profile which is triggered as soon as variable $TrainStationCommute is set.
Add an new task "Commute" to this profile. Start with an IF action and check if variable $CommuteSettingsActive is not 1. Add your actions (enable hotspot, enable silent mode, etc.) to the IF loop and at the end, set the variable $CommuteSettingsActive to 1.
Add an IF ELSE action and check if variable $CommuteSettingsActive is not 0. Add your actions (disable hotspot, disable silent mode, etc.) to the IF ELSE loop and at the end, set the variable $CommuteSettingsActive to 0.
So every time the variable $TrainStationCommute is set, the task "Commute" will be executed. Based on variable $CommuteSettingsActive it will enable or disable your favorite settings.
