I have a tytn 11 from orange and cant seem to find anywhere that I can withhold my my number as I dont want to sent it out. Does any onr know where I can find this feature?
Thanks

You can go to "Settings - Personal - Phone - Services - CallerID", click on "Get settings" and then select what you deem necessary .
just dial #67 before you dial the number and it will show up as "unknown".
This works on a landline also, but you would pick up the phone, dial *67, hear 3 beeps then dial the number.
With a cell phone, just type it all in a row. For example to dial 555-4444, you would enter *675554444 and press send.
Try it between you and friend to see how it works.
Edited as having brain spasm will post when brain works
Brain kinda working: Think 141 infront of no. in UK

I've always found that you can just dial numbers while you're in a call, you just use the... dialpad. :/
I had one contact which dials one of those 0870 numbers for cheaper international calls, someone pointed out to me that to get the phone to pause inbetween dialing a number, you could setup a Contact with commas to achieve a pause (I think each comma pauses the dialing for about a second)... So I have 0870234821,,001598238 (for example, the numbers aren't real numbers, but you get the idea).
I've always found that I can just dial on the keypad if I'm in a call though, you just dial and it dials the DTMF. Am I missing a trick here? I've not installed any other dialing software, I'm just using the supplied software, just with the default skin.
i know wot u mean.... but i'm contstantly having to dial numbers whilst in call, so it would be useful to have a tool that will allow you to do this rather than dummying number and having a pause for different dtmf's

i've tried this software but whilst incall, it doesnt trigger off... am i doing something wrong.
I see what you mean...
... Here's a thought; how about recording some combos of DTMF tones to predefined wave files, and triggering them on the phone whilst you're in a call? There's a chance the phone might pick them up as they're being played, and relay them down the line... Just a thought for this morning, one I've not tried in practice yet, but it might work.
it is good to use.
i use short tone and delay time change to 50ms.
nice !
thanks a lot
Can't get dialDTMF to work. The tones are played when I go to contacts -> dialDTMF, but only when NOT in a call. If I'm in a call and try to use dialDTMF nothing happens after I pick either work/home/mobile number.
Or am I using this tool the wrong way?
Anyone have a shortcut for enabling call forwarding? I always forward to the same number. I would like to be able to use a button or voice command to bring up the call forwarding screen, and then just click yes/OK to enable or disable it. Anyone else using this?
By the way. I have been using ATT's fast forward service for a couple of years. Do I need to continue paying for this, or will the phone redirect the calls?
Thanks,
Tom
Bump. I'd really love to find how to do this also, I'm doing it several times a day ...
On my 8925 phone I created two contacts.
Turn Forwarding On:
_OnForward
*21*5125551212#
(replace 5125551212 with the areacode and phone number you want to forward your calls to)
Turn Forwarding Off:
_OffForward:
##21#
The _ puts the two items at the top of my contacts list. I click contacts and then press call on the selected forwarding option. Sometimes I get an error message "command not supported", but that is related to my phone's connection strength and not the programming. This has been working well for me for about a year. I have tried to make a couple of buttons that dial the contacts directly from another screen, but that hasn't worked. You have to open contacts and the press call on the option you want.
Later-
Good morning gents.
I have an HTC TyTN II with Win Mobile 6.1
I created the contacts like that and on my "Favorite People" page I put the contact there, it just says :
"Cannot Complete the call. the Signal may be unavailable or the phone number may not be valid. Verify the number or try again later."
From the contact list it works of course.
Another question regarding call forwarding. Is there a way to have an icon on the top bar that says the call ARE being forwarded... I keep missing a couple of calls that end on my home answering machine because I forgot to forward
Vesperatus-
I have all of your same issues. As far as I know, there aren't any solutions. You just have to remember to unforward your phone.....

I use att and my speed dial 1 used to dial my voicemail, now it does not and I cannot seem to program it under the speedial menu, I can only program numbers greater than 2. Anyone have any ideas?
in dial pad, press 1 and hold it until it dials out.
I think he's saying that doesn't work now... how can he fix it.
go into settings - phone - voice mail and text messaging - get settings, then make sure you have the voicemail number set as this is associated with speed dial 1...

exactly, i was just going to answer that, but you beat me to it.
whatever number you enter in that setting will be set to number 1 speed dial. you may need to check with your carrier to get the correct number.
its already set in there, thats the funny thing, the voicedial number is in there but when I hold down 1 nothing happens!
All related.. all potentially embarrassingly simple answer, but I can't find them.
Scenario A: when I go into contacts, I can press and hold a phone # (ie. Fred's mobile) and make it "default".. the number gets a little check mark next to it.... BUT when I voice dial, and say "call fred"... it brings up fred's work #.. not the mobile #
a) what gives? how do I get it to prefer the # I made default?? (one would think that is what the default designation would do)
b) is there a way once it brings up the correct contact, but with the wrong #, to rotate between that contacts possible #s?
Scenario B: Go into call log, see a call from Fred on his mobile, but I want to call Fred at work.. I can press Fred and it offers "Call again".. but similar to b) above, is there a way to easily switch to Fred's mobile # instead?
thanks,
Mike
Senario A
A) say call fred on mobile
B) min gives me a list of numbers to select??
Senario B
Long press on the number and select View contact.

Scen A
So I tried "Sue" instead.. lo and behold, for Sue it does give me options.. but for "Fred".. even tho Fred has 3 phone #s
- mobile (marked as default)
- work
- company (tho displayed as "company main")
So... I changed "company" to "other"... and LOL, now this gets stupid... now when I say "Call Fred" it offers me
- work
- other
but NOT "mobile" even tho all 3 are listed in Fred's contact info.
!?!?!
Scen B... bummer, I was hoping there was a shorter way (like swiping the phone number sideways)
Just trying to find a way to paste a code into the dialer ... or better.
I have a special service for international calls. I have to call a number and then I am supposed to punch in the number I actually want to call. Ideally, I'd just like to be able to select the contact number and have the number be entered when I hit the number.
Any ideas??
Press and hold the area above the num pad, release your finger and you'll see the standard paste menu like in every text form

I tried that of course, and the paste does not appear.
Like this?
https://imgur.com/Pstfhb3 (sorry for German language, but it should be understandable)
There's also a Telephone button inside the context menu.
Not exactly. When you open the dialler, you can in fact paste. This what you have shown.
But once the call is being made, you can no longer paste. Even when you go back to the keypad.
Let me explain. I have a special dialing service. First I need to call a special number.
Then I need to paste in the actual number I want to call.
I am too new on the forum to link in a video, but I hope the above is clear.
A solution - of sorts
I've just seen your post. I appreciate it's a bit late in the day.
I've had the same problem
I use 18185 to save money on international calls. My previous phone allow me to cut and paste the number I wished to dial while connected so the access service.
It would seem that is not possible to do this on an S10.
I have however found a workaround which achieves the same result.
If you create a new phone book entry adding the access number first of all.*
In my case 02081802828
Then a comma which will give you a 2 second pause
Then the number that you wish to dial
Save this into the phone book and you will then be able to dial the number directly without having to input any phone number on the dialling screen.
02081802828,+330170732020 would be the complete number.
Hit the phone entry button and your good to go. It does take a while to connect so be patient.
Hope this helps
solved, but no longer needed.
Yes, that is what I did. But it was annoying to have to do it for all of my contacts.
I ended having to download all of my contacts and then edit them all with a code editor macro.
It was annoying but it worked, and for about a year my phone bill went down to just about nothing above my basic monthly fee.
Now, I've changed jobs and have a work phone, so I don't have to worry about it
