between the ROMs - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi,
I'm quite a nwebie, so I want to ask how to recover my data between the roms?
is SPB backup can restore my contacts, sms, mail etc...after I flash new ROM? or it is impossible?
Thanks!!!

PIM
PIM Backup is your best bet!

There are alot of programs that can back up your data, Sprite, SPB, PIM Backup and so on. Just do a search and read through the forums as there are alot of Mods, Senior Members, and other knowledgeable people who will be glad to help you. And always remember to post in the proper forum as we are trying to eliminate the spam in the forums.

Please post in the appropriate thread in future.
You can use PIMBackup to restore SMS, Contacts, email the one thing it doesn't do is MMS.
Can be found via search.
No need for SPB Backup for such a small task, SPB Backup is more useful so as to restore your phone if you have maja issues.

very sorry but I was not sure in which tread to post it..
those sofr will help me even between diferent Roms? not only versions?
and what about restoring apps?

for restoring apps I'd recommend buying a microSD card and trying SDAutoRun or SASHIMI

yep, bunch of different ways to backup and restore.. do a search or two..
Moved thread to appropriate area.

please help me...how flash my kaiser without lose my prgm.thanks...
you cant, you should backup your program files/my documents before flashing, and you should have cabs for all your programs ready.. also use "pimbackup" to backup your sms/contacts/calendar...
hes right updating a rom erases everything back to factory settings, i suggest you read about the process before posting aswell senior members and mods can close threads that are redundant, and some can be rather rude about the answers you want
here is a link to find out more about rom flashing
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
and as for updating search the kaiser rom board to find out which is best for you
backup
with spb backup i am ok?thanks my friend...
im trying to help as many as i can, where i can
just be wary of senior members and mods being a bit rough with you, do a google search for the software you want or search this forum first theres a button on the top right of the forum to do this
if then you cant find what you want then ask here
or the higher ups will get mad
no prbs

Yes that is ok. I always sync my contacts to my PC just in case.
just back up your contacts with either AS or PIMbackup...then go search and read about UC-user customization and then when u flash it will save u a lot of work

ROM's

I'm new to WinMo phones and have a few questions about ROM's.
1st: What are ROM's? I mean I know what they are, but what are all the ROM's posted in the development section?
2nd: How would I install these ROM's?
3rd: Is it recommended for some who is not that technically minded? ( I am only 15)
Thats all I can think of.
Thanks! Ben.

Welcome!
ad 1.) All roms are in the development thread
ad 2.) Read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
ad 3.) You don't need do be technical minded...
I have a feeling that my Diamond is branded to Orange (UK). Will that affect anything I do?
No, that shouldn't matter. Mine is Vodafone (NL), and you can just put any rom on it.
The things you have to do first (install HardSPL and so on) are things you only need to do once.
Installing a new ROM or (most) radio's after that takes more time to download them than to install them.
BE AWARE though that all your contacts and messages will be removed, as well as all your settings. There are various backup methods. I usually just copy the pi.vol file from the root of the phone to a safe place, then put it back after installing a new ROM. That has all your contacts (but not much more).

I store my contacts on my SIM as a back-up anyway. Would the 4gb internal storage be wiped?
Would anyone like to recommend me STABLE, finger friendly ROM that wont effect battery life too much? I basically use it for texting + Camera + Music. (I know its a waste of a brilliant mobile)
Thanks everyone. I'm just glad everyone is helpful here!

MS My Phone causing problems
This might be slightly off topic, but I didn't want to create a new thread for it and it is pertaining to rom development. I've had serious problems recently with multiple roms. I've installed about 4 roms in 3 days and with many i've lost my entire text message database from a soft reset. I've also reset the phone to find my email accoutns have been erased and my text messages were not sending.
I'm narrowed this down to using the MS My Phone service to restore information. This time round I used an old backup using PIM manager from my storage card and things seem to be back to normal (I hope).
Just curious, has anyone experience problems using MS My Phone? I like using it, but it now seems like a virus that if I use it, can corrupt my phone and cause me to have to reflash.
Opinions appreciated,
BANE

mmh oookay but i think you will run into trouble cooking paid software into a rom. in the end you can call it warez and warez here is prohibited
Thanks for the reply.
I have been yes. Currently running Xannys 2.5 without Htc messaging as I can't stand the sluggish speed of HTC messaging.
I know my last big problem occurred without the sms restore (just contacts and tasks) and to be honest, I'm a little scared to try and restore anything from My Phone incase it effects my phone adversely again. I've been constantly fixing and using a phone which was unreliable because of this for about a week now, so I kind of want to get back to some stability before I experiment again.
I'll keep everyone posted on my findings.

I wouldn't recommend that you cook in a paid software, it is prohibited.
ok, thank but even if i want it, i CANT ''when i click the reset button after flashing, and the phone starts its still waiting on the screen ´´smart mobility´´ and then nothing happens no Boot. Why???''

Could be anything really... a missing package, wrong settings in the registry. Pretty much impossible to say. Which kitchen are you using? Can you provide a build log (the bunch of messages the kitchen spurts out when building the ROM)?
thanks

Just copy all the messages it throws out during ROM creation, put it in a txt file and attach it to a post. Without that, it's really hard to give you any tips...
OK

Posting in general wont make somebody answer your question. Just be patient and if anybody can answer they will.
Why dont you make a nand backup via CWR and if your have issues after removing dictionary restore your backup, simple.
