First, net etiquette. All caps is like yelling. It's rude and annoying.
Second, your phone. Some questions first:
Did you back up your PIM?
Do you have your PIM data backed up on a miniSD?
Can you live without your data, if you didn't back up your PIM?
If the answers to #1 and #2 are "Yes," you're in luck. Just do a hard reset, and then load the programs you like back to your phone, and restore your PIM data from your miniSD card. If the answers were no for the first two, and the answer to the third one is "Yes," then do the hard reset anyways.
There's only a few likely culprits here:
Your phone's memory is full because you don't clear out temp files and/or loaded too many programs/media.
Your extended ROM is corrupted from the recent flash to 6.1
You just installed something that the OS didn't like (and I mean it REALLY didn't like it...)
The phone's at its end of life.
Do this: Turn the phone off, take the battery out, and do a long ten-count before putting everything back together. DO NOT TURN IT ON. Put it on a wall charger and leave it until you get a green light. If it never turns green, you probably also have a dead (as in totally dead) battery, and may need to do the jump-start (search for it), or buy a new battery.
After you have a green light, boot into bootloader mode, and try to flash the same ROM again. Report back.

Which ROM for Tmobile MDA

Hello,
i have just got a MDA with some homebrew rom and would like to update it. Which one is recommended for it? I would like WM6 but am happy with WM5 too. I was reading now for a few hours but i cant really find an answer. I would rather not make one myself.
Is there some ROM which can be easily installed? The MDA shows htc as startscreen if this matters in any way. Thanks
You may want to read the guides about how to unlock first (stickies at the top) and check and confirm with the WST tool whether your MDA is already ready for flashing ..
The installation process is more related to the variant you own (G3 or G4) rather than the different, cooked ROM you may want to flash ... you find the most popular WM6 in the corresponding sub-forum...
Good luck!
after various Roms on my wizard I'm definitely happy with the one that's running ride now on my brick.....it's WM5 but with style.....

Done that as you say above. What is the best, rather than the most popular WM6? Looking for speed, options and reliability. Thanks for your help above.

All new wm6 roms are excellent as regards to speed, performance and stability, you cannot single out any one to be the best. It all depends upon your preferences and choice.every user here has his own opinion, likes and dislikes, the best way is to run a couple of them and check which suites you the best,At the moment TNT Professional + HTC Home,NBD 9.2 are the hottest and most favourits and considered to be very stable and super speed
I have an MDA that's unlocked and I'm running TNT 5.0 1437 touch+flo modified with 10mb page pool, the scrolling gets away from me time to time but i have fat thumbs it's fast and reliable. I'd reccomend it or any TNT 5.0rom especially.
G3 or G4 processor?
I personally run a stripped version of the WWE AKU 3.3 Tmobile Croatia ROM, with the stock Cingular extended ROM, and it works fantastic. I can send you the nk.nbf of the ROM only if you have a G4. You can then flash with shelltool or use olipro's hard SPL. (read the stickies)
If you have a G3, I'd unlock it, and then I'd flash the stock Tmobile AKU 3.3 nk.nbf to get the updated 3.08 ipl/spl. You can then flash the extended ROM from the US AKU 2.3 ROM, and you'll have a stock AKU 3.3 that has all of the connections, ringtones and screens already configured.
I'm not much on custom ROM's anymore as I use my device so much now that I can't afford to be without it. Plus, I don't have the time to cook like I used to

From this report it seems as it is already unlocked as the person from whom you have got the phone was a custom rom Faria OS: 5.1.xxx (Build 15671FARIA.3.5),well custom roms can only be flashed to a unlocked device.to be more confirmed do this:
In WST tool there's a 'CID Action' button, press it and click than whatever report it gives post it here,it'll let you if your device is locked or unlocked, but I believe it's cid unlocked, good luck
That is what i get from WST as CID

Any particular WM6 rom recommended? I am happy to read the threads but the problem is that by the time i have read half of everything changes because of newer version and other issues....
So you are CID unlocked (SuperCID) ..
Have a look into the WM6 sub-forum for the ROMs mentioned above:
TNT
NBD
to mention 2 of them ... see also on many signature of the members here ...

Congrats !!!
YUP ! sure it is CID unlocked already (superCID)Your one of the lucky guy,who do not require to go through the process of unlocking,
But I'll recommend first download T-Mobile 2.26 and flash so you have asolid base without any extended rom corruption and choose a custom build rom ,there are so many but the most favorite at present are TNT Professional + HTC Home and NBD 9.2,check out the links :-

More Problems :(

Ok here we go.
I sat and read guides for G4 wizards for 3 days. i then decided on a rom (AMP) and got the needed files to do my unit.
I decided to go for the HardSPL route as i thought i could try various roms without having to mess about between each one.
I tried flashing the AMP rom and it ran through fine, rebooted phone and i get WM5 again. So i try removing HardSPL and using SoftSPL. Removed it fine, tried softspl, same thing. Ran through the upgrade, got to 100%, rebooted phone, WM5 again.
So i change the rom, i try TNT rom, exactly the same.
I finally think its time to try the Locked CID method. I reflashed the phone using this method, and guess what, i get the WM6.1 rom, but its troublesome, doesnt always start up, after about 5 seconds it drops the provider operator logo and replaces it with No Sim. But i still have signal. My wireless lan wont connect (although i think thats something to do with WPA-PSK. I also notice on bootup that the IPL/SPL/GSM/OS version numbers come up in the top left of the screen but the GSM one not always showing, just a blank line.
I decided to reflash the standard O2 rom to the phone and go back to the start. Flashed the O2 rom fine and i am now back to WM5 but i think i broke something. Using WST i extracted this info.

I just put HardSPL back onto the device just so i could try again, but i need to know how to fix this CID problem i have.
Can anyone help me through what i need to do?
Thanks in advance
You are unlucky that have a CID with index 80, which recovery CID block is not provided due to some sort of problems.
The recovery thread is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307558 .
I think you should contact mestrini to get help on that.
The CID is not corrupted. It's a bug in the algorithm that can't calculate CID with key index 80. It's on my TO DO list. sorry
The problem must be something else.
i have left you a few messages one containing my CID block. But i did try flashing that once, dont know if it changed anything. The IMEI is good, phone was bought from new by myself.

Anticipatory Thanks For The Help / Guidance......
Faisal
Note : Phone is CID and SIM Unlocked (Checked By WST)
Solved For Now
Ahammm ...
Sorry for making trouble for you guys ...
After trying alot of stuff ....
I finally Clear The Storage ...
And Signals came back showing now reason at all
Calendar .. Messaging .. Contacts ... all becomes accessable...
Well now i think the problem might be due to SPB Pocket Plus (I installed that after updating Windows .... Well ... Going to install that again to catch the sinner who made me For Two Days)
C U later in this post ....
Welcome to the Xda-forum
Well, after CID unlocking, then why flash T-mobile official rom,its still a wm5 rom, only with upgraded Bootloaders(IPL/SPL).It cud have been easily flashed even without CID unlocking
The real fun starts, after CID unlocking upgrade to one of the latest custom build wm6 or wm6.1 roms, thats where all the speed and features are to enjoy!
I'll suggest, you better upgrade to any latest wm6.1 custom roms and feel the difference.

I did everything rite but unable to unlock my K-jam (G3)

I did everything (twice) as like mention in tutorials, everything goes smooth n perfect, First i used Button Rom to downgrade the IPL to 1.xx then copy the enablerapi file to wizard n install it, Then successfully do the unlock n CID unlock by using lokiwiz, everytime wizard restart by itself, no error, then to downgrade the SPL i rerun the Button Rom but SPL ddin't change to 1.xx.
(i read somewhere on this forum tht it's not necessary to downgrade SPL, if it's not downgrading then it's ok) then i upgrade the back to IPL 2.xx n use the original rom downloaded from imateclub's ftp.
After doing all this, my wizard is (i think) still locked as i run WST to check and got this error.

Then i try Xds Minis Launch rom n repeat the whole procedure but end result is same.
Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing...
Thanks for your time n patience of reading this.
Sorry for my English, I know it's bad.
.....................................
Update:
I tried again with Button Rom went to whole procedure n this time successfully unlock the wizard n flash it with T-mobile rom...
Then upgrade to SNN Diamond rom Wm6.1 successfully....everything went rite, wizard boot n done the customization then reboot n freeze on splash screen.....
1st i thought i kill my innocent wizard then i got this hope that by going in boot loader screen n re-flashing it back to wm5.0 may save it n tried n it's work, my wizard is alive n breathing again...
Any Idea what n where i did wrong....?
i had ur same problem , and here goes the solution , they neglect to mention one step for a mysterious reason u need to restart the phone after installing rapi and then cid unlock it . the problem is that lockiwize returns unlocking successfulness wether it did or did not unlock ur phone which keeps u dazzled
cheers
freezing on splash screen is comman , it indicats o.s corruption or start up corrupted files , also processor overload , some of the roms use omap overclocking in order to run wm 6 faster which on old and tired processors can cause a freeze on load, any way u can always retry the upgrade , maybe it was just one time glitch

MDA Vario not actually upgrading

Hi,
I've tried upgrading my MDA with various ROMs - most of them starts the installer - loads my device in multi-colored screen, shows the progress bar, goes to 100%, restarts the phone and even shows the "Congratulations!" message; but when it loads for the first time - the OS stays the same, just asks to align the screen (endless loop) and acts like the device had just been hard-reset! It doesn't apply any installation changes.
Have you any ideas how to actually upgrade my MDA? I'm kinda confused, because I haven't found any information related to this problem anywhere in the internet.
Here are some details:

What ROM is your phone currently running?also, have you tried flashing back to a stock ROM such as the t-mobile 2.26?
I suppose it's the original one (stock) - version: 2.26.10.2 WWE, date: 6/7/06. And yes - I've tried even the stock version from here - still no changes!
Have you CID unlocked your mda? is it a G3 or G4 model?
you could check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
Hope this helps.
Yeah, it is CID unlocked and, as you can see from my previous details - it is a G4 device.
