Hello i am in pakistan and i want to know which is the best gps radio i have htc tytn II and i have G Rom 10
Hi,
there's a great thread where all radios are listed. You can simply flash them one after each other and see what's working best for you . Here you go.
I don't think there is a GPS radio, the radio I think you are asking about is the radio for the cell networks. Which the above poster linked.

Hi,
I've installed the lastest ROM RADIO v1.46.00.11
My GPS take 5 to 15 min to fix I don't know if is due to the RADIO ROM but I've read somewhere that this version is not the best for France (Europe)
Can someone told me wich one is the more stable for GSM and GPS
thanks
the radiorom is only for the phone not
for gps, wifi or bluetooth

Are you sure.... I've read in a thread in XDA that the GPS depend on the ROM but not the WIFI
i'm curious too.. i thought radio ROM affects gps and bluetooth as well as phone
i'm not 100% but under the impression as there are plenty of pda's around which dont have phone but have gps, wifi and bluetooth

I think that Radio Rom affect GPS too because when I bought my P3600, GPS wasn't enable and I had to upgrade Radio version in order to active the GPS.

Radio is different to ROM.
Anyways, not sure if this would help, but I'm using Radio version 1.46.30.11, I really don't know if Radio has anything to do with GPS reception, but you can try upgrading it to that.
There's also a program out there that's meant to help GPS fix. It's called GPSTest that was posted a few days back. Might want to look that up.
Will post again if i can find it and test it.
And here it is, but not sure if it's a myth or reliable

Now im curious to now what the different Radions do with the phone??
never seen a change log / release note for any radiostack to any device
guess htc dont release them externaly
and a user based opinion vs. writing would
be so individual and biased it would be pointless

GPSTest doesn't help GPS fix. GPS fix is dependant on GPS hardware. The only benefit of GPSTest is that it is a small program, thus it loads faster therefore initialising GPS faster. That's all it does.
That being said. Radio Rom absolutely has an effect on GPS receiver. Do you remember when the Trinity first came out with GPS disabled? Was it not disabled because of conflicts with the 3G radio? So you'll have to find a radio version that works right for you. Personally, the 1.46xxx radios suck ass for me in Canada, so I'm trying out different ones to see which works best.
The FM radio on my device suck badly. I can't get any radio channel when i'm in the house. And when I'm outside, I can barely get 1-2 channels. I don't know if the FM radio antenna in the Fuze sucks or it is because i'm using an American device in Canada. Before giving up on FM radio, I want to try it with another software. Is there any other FM radio software out there?
Also, I've tried and did not success to install XM radio software. Can anyone upload another CAB of XM radio to another site than rapidshare?
Thanks all, I'm a big fan of Radio.
I'm using radio 1.02.25.32, with Fido, Canada. It's too early for the Fuze community to determine which radio is the best... I'm planning on trying another radio... then again, I read that this is the best radio for GPS signal. Is there a good radio for Montreal user, to have both good signal for GPS and FM radio?
I posted an alternate FM Radio app in my thread titled MSM72xx chipset level configuration tools in this forum.. try that?
Hi all,
I have some problems with TIM ROM RADIO.
The signal level is low. ( my wi-fi router is netgear and the signal on my PC is Excellent but on my PPC touch HD is bad).
Im not satisfy of that...............
The quality signal is bad.
When I've tryed all Radio functions seems work good only BT and GPS.
I've installed ROM cocked DIB 1.0 without problems.
Can someone give me a link to download a new and working ROM RADIO ?
Thk / Regards
Mike
One of the first posts in this forum has links to various radios... Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466274 there are 3 different radios you can try...
Have you tryed them?
There is a better ROM RADIO?
thk for link
Yes, and looking at quite a lot of posts in the forum it looks like 1.10.25.25 is the one to go for at the moment, although some radios work better than others depending on what country and network you are on.
I think you should try 1.10.25.25 and 1.9.25.35 and check your signal strength, GPS fix time and battery life and then decide what is best for you..
Please consult the radio thread for questions related to radios.
Thread now closed.
i recently bought the htc tytn 2, got it off ebay. Has the following rom
rom version 3.29.707.owwe
rom date 08/20/08
radio version 1.65.30.09
protocal version 25.101.40.08h
the problem :
Im on o2 network, its unlocked, and i recieved texts this morning on it, but the signal is crap compared to my iphone, or any other phone, its like 2 bar, and thats only occasionaly, it looses signal and takes forever to come back (if it does), its really not handy
can anyone help me, i read a few other posts using the search on the forum, and they said something about radio ???? im guessing thats what recieves the signal, and some people tried changing the gsm, again i have no clue what that is.
OH im new to the forums , so i hi guys
hope someone can help me, this phone really is awsome
If you think you need to replace the radio, here's the Ultimate Radio Thread.

There are instructions on the page on how to update the radio, but first I suggest you read on ROM and Radio updates on the Wiki. It'll save you some grief and worries I image.
As for why your Tilt is performing badly, it very well could be the radio because the other user perhaps was on another network, but if you find what seems like an appropriate radio and it doesn't help you might have discovered why it was on ebay.
Hi all. I'm looking for a radio that is compatible with my 12 month old UK O2 XDA Ignito (Diamond Touch) connected on O2 network. Have tried a fair few but hope someone out there can save me trying every single one. All radios that I have tried seem to drop calls, the most recent one just drifts in and out of signal strength.
I have loaded a few ROMS on now and just need the radio to be more reliable.
Is there a special radio for this model?
Thanks in advance.
v1.00.25.05 seems to work just fine for me.
I'm not using mine on the O2 network but if you haven't given it a try try it.
Im using 1.17.25.09 on mine and it works great
1.13.25.24
Just updated to that one from O2 directly, works a treat.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am trying 1.13.25.24 with Benko's latest ROM. I'll let you know how I get on.
Any suggested ROMs which work nicely on this handset?
I'm having a bad experience with 1.13.25.24 losing signal and cutting phone calls.
I see 1.17.25.09 requires SU which I haven't done.
Does it follow that the original radio from O2 for this phone should work well, even with a cooked ROM?
