Witch Custom ROM / Cooker to use on X1. - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

Hey all
Sorry for my bad english
I´am a danish X1 user who a a little bored by my stock ROM and a not fully funktionel TF3d. I have instaæed TF3d by cab and have the known bugs sutch as no landscape, not working album ect.
i´am thinking about flashing to a costum ROM to get more out of my X1 than a get today. But i don´t know witche ROM / cooker i sholudt choice. I´am thinking of itje´s Toutch it 5,05 "landscape" but know ther are other ROMs out there.
Ther is af few things there are very importen for me in daliy use. that means that i "don´t want" bugs in thes funktions.
- Call
- SMS / MMS / E-mail
- Calender funktion
- Sync with active sync and exchange
- Messenger and facebook use
- 3 part app. sutch as TOMTOM 7
- Surfing withe 3G on opera
- Danish T9 if its is possible.
I dont care about the OS langues but i know i can get the danish letters æ, ø and å on the hardware keyboard and i hope the dansih T9 can be possible.
Witch ROM is the more stabile and have no problems withe the things above?
Thanx for u help
Regards Allan

Trial and error buddy.
Test them out for yourself.
Do research on "which" problems if any exist with ROMS. Eliminate the one's you can't deal with.
One person's preference in Roms is different than another's.
Personally I do use itje's which has worked out well for me, not perfect but I don't mind.
Have fun, and experiment with each.

For the danish hardwarekeyboard layout there is a Registry twaek mentioned in the X1 subforum...should not be Problem with any ROM

The thing is i use swedish and hungarian and it would be great if someone could point me in a direction ( or maybe helping me with creating a cab that has hungarian-swedish t9 and keyboard layout all in one, self installing if possible) so i can use the tytn2 / kaiser fully. I think i will use resco keyboar pro if thats possible with theese cabs?
Search the xdaforum for 2days now and crashed the phone once (had to hard reset) so im giving up now and waiting for a kind soul to help me/point me in the right direction.
Waiting for you replys guys, and thanks in advance.

Letter Recognizer, Umlauts & english ROM

Hi there
I've got the AthineOS WWE in English (english ROM Version, WM 6.1). I don't want to change the language actually, but I'd like to use the Letter Recognizer Function for writing SMSes/MMSes. It does work, but because I need to write in German it would be perfect, if I could somehow bring my Kaiser to recognize the handwritten Umlaut Inputs...my old P3300 with Swissgerman ROM did that, so I guess it depends on the ROM. Perhaps there is some hint or .CAB File to change that?
Thanks so much in advance

No ideas?
Well, I was running the official HTC German 6.1 ROM on a US HTC Tytn II (non-AT&T but the real one) - made it easier in a long run. It was even more fun having the entire device in German. Setting up the hardware keyboard to US English ... well, that part I had to figure out on my own since nearly everything on here was nothing but a TILT fix. In the end that was not hard either:

NRG Rom
Hi,
Same problem - have used loads of roms with no problem, but just changed to Energy 6.5 Rom (Leo 27 Oct 21864 build) and can no longer use my "Heb Only Support" cab as i then lose SMS/MMS sound notification. Any alternatives would be welcome !!
Using NRG 23071 build
The hebrew works well in the htc sense but is LTR in windows and Opera 9.7.
In any case I use hebrew badnimits cab, and fingerkeyboard 2.1
try this one, working fine for me

what do you mean "LTR in windows" ?
In which application in windows you have LTR?
I use ALEX2003_V2 and have RTL in manila but LTR in htc messaging.
In dutty R2 I had RTL in letters but RTL in words on HTC messeging (like this "טוב בוקר")
in XannyTech and R5 eve letters was LTR (like this "בוט רקוב")
there must be a reg edit to fix orientation.

new x1 owner -- some issues

hello all.
i just recently bought (2 days now) a shiny new X1 and i am quite pleased with it for the most part... except for some issues
so ... some questions;
build quality is ok but it feels like a wobble when the unit is closed during tapping. is this normal? in other words the screen sort of "shifts" around in movement ... is this normal?
my rom came with arabic support (the unit has arabic fonts lettering on the keyboard) however when writing a message i cant figure out how to turn the keyboard into arabic.. only the on-screen-keyboard displays arabic.
well thats all done with cause i changed the rom and even though i backed up following the steps in the tutorial on this forum when i restored the rom the arabic applications didnt restore nor did the fonts. i dont know why...
so now i installed many roms and even though i installed Mobidev (the arabic localization) the on-screen-keyboards only display english. for example, christian's rom, the valkrye rom, and the Unoff rom. all are english however i cant figure out how to add the arabic keyboard...
any help is appreciated.
59 views and no reply?
comeon guys... ???
It's normal that it 'wobbles', there are two parts (the actual phone and the screen)attached to eachother at two points I think .. not sure why SE/htc didn't decide to fix the wobble thingy though
thanks
any ideas on how to make the hardware keyboard switch to another language ?
get the regedit program on the forums and then find the keyboard code which uses arabic as its layout then it should work.
or you can always just look for a custom arabic rom , Hard-reset + flash the rom will always do the trick too.

Non-latin languages require more work, because they need to get the IME working whereas latin charset languages just need the characters and accents. I suggest you flash an Arabic ROM to make your life easier.
The au key should be the language toggle.

I'm the author of this 6.5 ROM.
hi ccwav
i am a fan of your roms from ioicn (i cannot understand chinese anyway)
nice to see you here
Welcome!
I was surfing ioicn.com.cn and I saw there some posts about WM 6.5 for S730 but I can't speak Chinese and all I could do was register and then search the posts. But I couldn't understand if there was any English ROM. Anyone able to help?
the rom build by ccwav is chinese and english, but it is incomplete (file explorer, bt and many other features are still in chinese) anyway it is a nice and cool rom.
I downloaded this ROM that nhatientri mentioned, cooked it without making any modifications and it installed flawlessly. It is in English totally but no Bluetooth at all, this is the first thing I spotted. Let me check if there are other bugs.
BTW, anyway to get the bluetooth back?

Well, I speak Italian, Greek, English, Albanian and some Turkish and French. If you know any of the following languages, I am ready to help you bring it in English.
As for my yesterday's test on HTC S730 with the 6.5 ROM, I decided to go back to 6.1 until next convincing ROM.

i saw it this morning... and now i'm going to test it
but
i'll be very happy if you could cook a rom with 256MB ROM size and without AGPS/GPS features (the western wings haven't gps but have more rom size)
anyway thank you for the up, i'm running to try it
Dear friends, I downloaded the ROM from the link here http://www.ioicn.com.cn/forum/viewthread.php?tid=358850&extra=&page=1 and don't ask me how I registered, I don't know Chinese and I worked a lot with google translation. The forum couldn't log you in through google translator. Anyhow, long story short, I downloaded the chinese 6.5 ROM and I am amazed. The home screen is fantastic and i could change the language from Chinese to English through the settings. There are still programs and items in Chinese but it's not a big deal. You can find the english versions of the programs on line.
I am going to play with that a little bit now. I'll write later if I find any bug or whatever.
are you able to dump/edit/modify/repack that rom? maybe removing agps ? i have tried several times but i am a dumb ^^
Nope, I'm sorry. I don't know how to do it. I renamed every Chinese filename in English and downloaded the English versions of some of the programs.
Until now, from what I see I can say the following:
1. Bluetooth Manager is in Chinese, I'll try to push some English version from my other HTC Vox WM 6.5 if possible.
2. Internet Explorer is for touch screen models I guess. Very difficult for me to operate it like this. I think I will try Opera or whatever for a change.
3. There is File Explorer in English but somehow, the cooker decided to put the shortuct of Resco Explorer only in the menu, which is in Chinese by the way.
4. GPS seems to work but I can't get more than 1 satellite everywhere I try.
5. Quick GPS tries to download data but nothing downloads even on WiFi or over ActiveSync.
6. Homescreen of T-Mobile looks very cool, I like it a lot
7. A lot of tweaks in Chinese, hieroglyphs to me
I will see if I spot anything else. Nevertheless, the ROM is OK, I didn't regret the update (yet).
allright, nevermind...
i have solved some issues (in an arranged way)
2 if you use JZSmartMort you can set (in the browser options) the "OLD VERSION" of IE , it's work but is still slow imo
3 install your own resco explorer or make a new link to the "original file explorer" than replace with the older one (chinese resco)
4-5 i think that one satellite is few for connect to a AGPS so agps/gps feature is useless (if don't have the gps version of wings) (can't try with an external receiver, for now, at my home there are no signal at all)
6-7 the last foledr in start menu conteins some extra tweak, like different layout for menu (glossy bars and selections, the third is PINK!), a selector for different tshres.dll (icons in the iconbar, my favotite is #8), a selector between the 6.1 and 6.5 home layout (maybe with delicacy homescreen) and a selector for the dialer pad (first, grey htc, second blue...)
how much RAM free you get at the boot? and after some while?
br
Also, I can't find Java. It looks it is not integrated or smth. I don't use it anyways, just wanted to try Opera Mini....
Well, I have it loaded up with programs so I don't know if the readings are accurate. Anyways, where do I check the free RAM?
