no data/3g when bluetooth is on poss config issue? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

when bluetooth is on the connection status says network where it normaly shows 3g (i think refering to the bluetooth pan adapter as its configured for gremote) when i turn off bluetooth the data connection is there straight away and it does not need to connect and all applications work again like opera i.e and the weather tab. but if i turn on bluetooth it times out again and does not connect to anything needing a data connection
anyone know what i need to do to stop the mobile thinking that the network pan conection is defaulted over 3g when bluetooth is on?

internet connection sharing

has anyone tried internet connection sharing via HSPDA to a PC using activesync or bluetooth yet? any issues?
I use USB/ActiveSync and it works fine.
Just follow the manual. I followed it and got no problem.
One thing though, in the manual, it said "execute 3gnetopt.exe in the PC to optimize it for 3G connection".
It seems, after that it changed the routing automatically and can slow down your internet connection when not using the ICC via PDA.
Well, that's easy, just disable the "additional" network interface in the PC.
i could get the usb internet sharing to work but bluetooth internet sharing doesnt work. my pc is able to detect a local bluetooth pan network without internet access. anyone got their bluetooth/internet to work?
I have internet sharing working via bluetooth on a tablet and laptop (both running XP). First I tried DUN and it worked which suprised me. Then I set up a PAN connection and got Internet sharing running. After that DUN will no longer work, it looks like it trys but then fails. But Internet Sharing is faster and works fine over bluetooth.
It can be tedious at first, you need to create a BT PAN Connection on the PC, you need to create a BT partnership with the Kaiser in your Bluetooth manager on the PC. You need to set the Kaiser's Internet sharing to "Bluetooth PAN" and have the Network connection set to go to your ISP's GPRS internet AP.
Once I have PAN setup on the PC, it's showing "Network Cable Unplugged"
I then Start the Kaiser's Internet Sharing and press connect, it starts a GPRS connection.
I then open the Bluetooth Manager on the PC, select the Kaiser's Connection Icon, right click and select connect.
Then the two devices connect and I'm off and running.
With 3G I have been able to answer calls and talk on my Jawbone BT headset while still connected to the PC via BT as well, pretty much MAGIC
bluetooth still cant work with those instructions, i'll just stick to USB for now.
how do I ensure that HSPDA is working and its not just 3G?
My 3G icon changes to H when it connects hi-Speed. I'm wondering what Bluetooth Stack your PC has, I had issues with my tablet and Hermes until I got new BT Drivers from Fujitsu support. Your PC may need updated BT profiles? My laptop is Dell (uses a Toshiba BT Stack), the tablet is Fujitsu (also Toshiba BT Stack). Just a thought.
On the Plus side, using a USB cable will keep the phone charged, which is good because HSPDA is a power hog anyway.
i'm using a bluetooth dongle with my PC running vista
Both USB and BT ICS work great for me. I've used it on Edge, 3G, and HSDPA.

Internet sharing only working on 2G and not 3G
I am connected right now via internet sharing using my USB cable. However, this is working only if I have a 2G signal showing on my tytnII. When I am in a 3G location, the internet sharing program sits with the message "waiting for network"....this is just after the message "checking USB cable".
I have tried many things including a hard-reset, not having a full sync relationship between the PC, just connected etc. All to no avail.
I am using a new Dell laptop running Vista Ultimate.
Unlike previous PDAs I've had, I don't know a way to force the tytn II to stay on 2G, so when I am at work in a 3G environment, I cannot get internet sharing to work.
Help!

Lost my WiFi; please help.

Timeline of events leading up to the failure.
While connected to my home wireless router via WiFi on my Tilt, I was surfing Dutty's cab-page link but was unable to see any cabs; even after registering. So I then downloaded 2 cabs from these forums that were meant to aid in Bluetooth headset volume and installed them when I noticed my WiFi connection on the Tilt disconnected.
I've attempted to re-establish the connection with no success; even so much as to go through all the connection set-up steps and re-enter the router key.
The wireless router is operating fine and my Wife's Tilt is able to connect thru WiFi with no issues as usual; so not a router problem. I am still able to connect to the net thru the phone's basic internet eg. 3G etc. (I am typing this thread from the phone)
For months until now I've been able to connect with my wireless router on my Tilt; what could have happened?
Any suggestions for a fix?
Thanks in advance!
Christopher
Solution: I had to not only Remove the Programs but I had to delete the cabs in My Documents as well.
Guess I'll just suffer with low Jawbone volume

Bluetooth PAN and Mac OSX not working

Hi,
I'm trying to use the Bluetooth PAN setting in the Internet Sharing program with a Macbook (Mac OS X 10.5.4). I successfully paired the laptop and Kaiser. I start Internet Sharing on the Kaiser, go to the Bluetooth icon in OSX, click Tilt and click Connect to Network. This doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have suggestions?
I can successfully get it working with Windows XP so I'm guessing it's OSX's fault?

Might anyone have an idea, or maybe the better question is has anyone ever gotten Bluetooth PAN working with OSX?

It works for me on a mbpro with 10.5.5. It's been a while since I've set it up, but I don't remember doing anything special to get it working.
Make sure you set your shared internet connection to the correct setting ( Media Net or My ISP )
I have found that tethering using MY ISP works the best and seems to have a tad less latency.
I am running a MB Pro C2D with 10.5.3
My "Hack Pro " is running 10.5.2 and is also tethering with no issues.
P.S.
One more thing. Make sure the phone is set to Visible. Although you can pair it , if its not in Visible mode, it will NOT work
Do you get a connection and it just wont give you an active connection or does your laptop attempt to tether and give a network connection error ?
Here's how I'm trying everything. The device and computer are already paired. The device is visible.
Open Internet Sharing.
Set PC Connection to Bluetooth PAN and Network Connection to MEdia Net.
I tap connect, and the status changes to "Device setup finished. On the PC, connect Bluetooth PAN."
On the Macbook, I click the Bluetooth icon on the menu bar, hover over the device's name, and click Connect to Network.
On the device, the status changes to "Connected."
When doing this in Windows, that's it. I can open up a browser, and the internet is working fine. But on my Macbook, I open up a browser, and I'm not connected to anything. I open up the Network preference pane, and nothing is connected. OSX doesn't see the Bluetooth PAN profile is maybe the problem?

Ahhhhh When you pair the phone to the mac, make sure you have internet sharing enabled on the phone before you go into pair mode. Otherwise mac osx doesnt see the PAN capability. I think thats what I had to do.
I tried with Internet Sharing pre-connected, but it still didn't work. I did get it working though! In the network connections, Bluetooth does not equal Bluetooth PAN. I went to the little plus at the bottom, and specifically added a Bluetooth PAN interface, and it picked the device up.
Thanks for all of the help!

Unfortunately, I am on HTC Touch with a WM6.5 ROM, and even though I added the Bluetooth PAN interface manually, my Mac is still not picking up the phone, even though it's been paired successfully and Internet Sharing pre-connected.
OK this is for last year but just in case someone else searches for this a solution I found a while back
Added step open "com port 1" on the WM, not sure where I found that, otherwise the mac keeps "dialing" and the phone says "???? no need to dial, 3G not modem"
These steps work for me on SE Xeperia1 with WM 6.5 and Mac 10.5.8.

"Now with Windows Mobile 6, Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) is used. So, if you are on Mac OS 10.4.9, you now have the ability to use a Network Port called “Bluetooth PAN.” Here are the high-level steps you use to enable your Bluetooth Internet Sharing:
1. Turn on Bluetooth and BT discovery on both your WM6 device and your Mac
2. Set up a Pairing between the two devices
My steps + Setup Bluetooth from Phone to Mac. Do it form the phone to the mac not the other way around.
+ Opem Comm port one from Phone bluetooth setup.
3. Enable the Bluetooth PAN port under your Mac’s Network Preferences (Network Port Configurations) by clicking the checkbox
4. Ensure that your devices are “talking together”
5. Start “Internet Sharing” on your WM6 device and click “Connect”
6. On your Mac, it is helpful having the “Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar” enabled
7. On your Mac, from the Bluetooth menu, select “Join Network on [WM6 device]“
8. That is it! (You should have internet connectivity on your Mac, provided you have good signal on your WM6 device). You can even verify that you got an IP address from your WM6 device by going to Network control panel and selecting Bluetooth PAN. Mine shows a 192.168.0.XXX number.
I hope that works. This is a good tip to know if you travel a lot and don’t want to pay for the expensive hotel internet services. Just plug power into your phone and your laptop, connect and you have “dialup” speeds for no additional costs!
If you have questions, write a comment below. If this works for you, DIGG it!
Don’t forget, you will drain your battery pretty quickly and use a lot of bandwidth from your cellular provider (especially if your internet service has a cap)."

why dont 3g work when bluetooth or active sync is in use?

this issue with 3g/ data connection not working when bluetooth or active sync is connected is really dont my head in now any ideas why the mobile defaults its data connection to via bluetooth ir active sysnc and does not use 3g athough its connected in the back ground?
My 3g stays connected when my bluetooth is on (which is always) and when i'm connected to activesync.
There is an option in active sync that you might have disabled though. Go to activesync, file, connection settings, on the bottom there is a line saying "Allow wireless connection on device when connected to the desktop" make sure that is checked.

[Q] 3G connection while on adhoc net?

Hello Tabbers!
I have hacked my Tab so I can connect to Adhoc networks like the PLX Kiwi OBD2 dongel for engine information retrewing in my car.
Now, is ther a way to have WiFi and 3g simultaniously running so that I can retrive the egine data over wifi, and at the same time listen to internet radio over 3g (streamed through bluethoot to my car stereo)?
Looking for any way (hack) to forse the Tab to use 3G data while connected to wifi?
Tried google a week for answers
