School over, completly free untill september wohoo! This means XDA time I have not moved from kaiser so I am going to use the following weeks to dig in and read up on the latest (totally outdated). There is going to be a clean up in the cab corner in near future. Future plans not yet decided, not sure if I am going to brew myself or group up whit someone. Could be that I am just going to work whit WinCE and handy cabs. Anyways, /me is back, missed XDA alot the last 9 monts ! <3

after so many request...here it is...the ext-rom cooking tutorial
first download the ext-rom maker kit from here;
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/DumpROM/htc-wizard-ext-rom-maker-kit.zip
then download the attached tutorial.
A great deal of time and patience was needed to put this together, from me, so please drop by the forum to say thanks if nothing else.
I know some of you would like to be able to extract you own extended rom base from your roms, this is easyest way that I could come up with for everyone specially the novices, plus that is another tutorial.
please post your coments/problems here for the benefit of every one
Regards,

Sweet! I'll be checkin' this out once I get home to my computer, baking in 100 degree weather at the moment - dare not turn it on during this damned heat wave. My AC is leaving the fridge open and sitting on the bottom ledge =).
Thanks Jose! I've been looking forward to this!

Hi! Well, I didn't even use your tutorial (yet), but still I just wanted to say thanks for your work. All the work from everyone that is contributing useful stuff should be rewarded once in a while, if only by a simple "thanks!" <-- so there you go
Oh and good luck tomorrow with the soccer match Portugal - The Netherlands!
Greetz,
Jeroen (Proudly Dutch, hehe)
P.S. Now that I come to read the PDF, isn't the location for the ext rom (as noted in step 4 in your tutorial) '\Extended_Rom', that is, with an underscore ('_') and not a hyphen ('-')? I am pretty sure it is spelled with an underscore.

to everyone that downloade the tutorial before 9:30 uk on june 24

thanks faria for the pm, I'll redownload when I get back to the computer.
I hardly ever carry a laptop pc since I've gotten the 8125.
I managed to download, unzip and displaý it, but pdf files don't wrap text, so it's too hard to read the file. I can wait until I get to a PC, but if you could post it in (pocket) Word, I would br sooo happy.
It's ok if you can't, I'm still your biggest fan -- all these other guys are your second-biggest fans
Only your biggest fan would type all his fanmail out on his Wizard. My thumbs sure are tired!
Thanks, I got it this time
I hope to start building my won Ext Rom shortly
Great stuff (again) Faria.
Gonna check in a few minutes of I am able to cook my own ext-rom.
Will let you know the results afterwards!

Thanks, ather for your brilliant ROMs.
Too bad that you decided to leave!!
I have got a spare hima. If you know a way to ship it to you, it could be yours!!
Sorry, I had no time to finish my German ROM, with build in anti theft software (I integrated specially for you), yet.
The feature to find a stolen device by GPS after a new SIM is inserted is really cool and it is working fine.
We do not want to loose you here, that is for sure!!
Please PM, as you want to. Feel free to ask for help to get a broken hima to repair yours. Ebay Germany always have some!
Hey Ather, if you had another Himalaya to cannabilise for its LCD, would you continue to make roms for the Hima?

I got a PM from ather and I think he would, but I figured out that there are at least two maybe three different LCD-displays used in Himas or it´s Clones
Mod-no: 60H00005 (look at the back of the display)
60H00011
60H00022
I hope that we can make him stay.
Hrmmm. I will look into it a few days from now. I don't currently have the phone on me, and haven't tested it out in the past 5 months. The phone is the one used in the video on Flashing a ROM on a phone with a broken power button. It should be compatible. It is an Imate Pocket PC Phone Edition. I'll see what I can do.
Bye all!!!
First C_shekar & now you.
Come on man.
Think again my friend.
My god.. we lost another himalayan man :'(
thank you for your great work.. bye..
Jadel, i have a very old himalaya (my first one actually, its mobo is f*** up) i tried to use its LCD but its a hell lot different then the one i was using :/
i was just contacted by Owaida, he says he will send his Himlaya to me as he has moved to Hermes..so if i get it..maybe i'll consider re-cooking
Hurray for that

All 11(eleven) together, that´s right. Less than 50 Euro per device together with navisoft, that´s fine.
Ca. 4 years ago the whole company bundle was worth 15000 bugs!
And never again problems with stolen devices, broken displays or old intern backup battery!

err guyz its not about the lcd anymore
i tried to fix that LCD and i broke some connectoer i think (on the motherboard) so no LCD would work too
unlucky... i just pulled a 60H00022 from my old Himalaya
Bad news, but thanks for all things. you're the great cooker. Good luck all you wish
Thanks Ather90
Hello.
It's sad to say but I have to surrender in himalaya crazy party.
Firstly - My himalaya died (while charging, my brother sit on it, charging port died, as well as display)
Secondly - My second hima was lost, maybe stolen, don't know. Someday I missed it (totally drunk).
Thirdly - There is ABSOLUTELY no money gain for that, nothing like HD2 forums, or just YAHUAHAHAH(etc) donations. I did it for free, now I know it was not good.
I don't have cash to revive my hima, also I don't want to.
All my kitchens and tools will stay here, maybe someday some idiot will use it and achieve some money on my work, as always people did and do.
I also will downgrade me from Moderator state there.
Sorry bros, it's a must.
Bye
i loved your Cooked ROM bro...you give new life on my himalaya
u've great job when release a new ROM and i always waiting for that...
it's nice to know what a nice person who made a great ROM like you!!!
It's sad, that it has come the way it came. But it has been a great time and I'm glad to be a friend of you. Beside the big cookers of the past, you're one, who 'developed' our himalaya world.
You know, donations are not all! Well, I did it ones, and I could do it again. I'll try my very best.
Please, keep in contact, here in our forum and personally.

As Ather declares his return some days ago, I'll love to see both of you masters working together developing our forum.
As a gift to his 18th birthday, I managed, ather to get a new used hima from israel to bahain, although postage is not allowed to the middle east from there.
Thanx again, to Kap6oHaT!
Since you got the donated device, you became mod after a lot of good, hard work.
I tried to organize an alpine for you, as I think, It would be good for developing to have some concurrence to cotulla.
Ok, it's a hima that is needed most. Let's get it done, just wait - Maybe I have to search for your adress on my desk soon.

I think it would be hard to do final version of AK6 without any testing etc, but I would try.
I have one experiment to test at now, I'm searching somebody to test so I would post it here too.
EzInput is 8 mb weight, some more, don't remember
I did 3 mb weight EzInput to work natively on our himalaya.
EzInput cab in attachment, so test it, please.
Shame on me!
I missed it, as I was repairing my sons RC-car, for the third time.

There's a penetration testing thread in the tp2 forum that works for many HTC winmo phones that I've been playing around with on my fuze.
I'm still pissed that it got made a legacy device when it did. At the time, there were at a page of new posts everyday added to the dev section. And they weren't noobs asking stupid questions in dev either. On top of that you had the moto backflip and other crap which had no dev support period being added every other week.
From a chef, what do you think would be cool to do to a non daily driver touch pro? I can't bring myself to put that thing down.

I too have the good ole TP ( Fuze ) Will never give it away - and yes me too way very emotionally attached to Fuze dev section - but sadly we had most of the ROMs discontinued - I discontinued mine also ( for public ).
I think only NRGZ cooks regularly for Fuze, TAEL, JMC etc etc all were discontinued or were no longer supported. Hence, it makes sense to send it to legacy devices - and hey it's not that legacy devices sections are not accessible just a click away.
Well I just play with my Fuze cook a new ROM once a while - just use it for a couple of hours in a week - if I;m feeling nostalgic - I just use it for a day or two.
Won't sell it as it will fetch me pennies compared to what I bought it for.
And I agree, some devices have disappointed as hardly anyone develops for them - but now we are much more careful about what we add and what we don't.

Oh yes ! And that epic BUILDs thread by Da_G - good ole days - I was one of the dev team members who ported manila2.1 and manila2.5 to VGA resolutions
In those days HD2 was new and our device ran manila made for HD2 perfectly - and it was one of the best XDA moments for me

That's awesome man! Really cool. I can't remember the mod who deved the xda shutdown cab, but I was dl'ing some old stuff the other day. I noticed there was no thanks button. Is there something about old threads and not having one?

Shouldn't be the case - are you using the classic theme ? Then maybe, not sure though.
Although - XDA Shutdown i remember - was pretty swoosh I even themed it for my ROM and I think so did NRGZ. Can;t recall who the dev was - maybe hilaireg or DaveShaw they both were Fuze owners and devs, very active on the forums and helped me alot.

True, but the yellow reminded me of the simpsons of which I'm not very fond of.
