Hi there,
Just installed the Manilla 2d software on my kaiser, still getting used to it but have a couple of problems:
1) it doesnt rotate when i open the phone,
and 2) I cant apply themes to the M2DC software?
I have downloaded the black and white diamond theme and one other, have unzipped the primary folder and placed it under the windows directory, however everytime i run the M2DC software to load it, it doesn't show under the list of availible themes afterwards, so i cannot apply it???
Any help on the above matters?
Cheers
landscape mode isn't fully developed for the kaiser yet, so when you slide open the phone it won't rotate. the rom i'm using has some degree of landscape support, but nothing like the TF3D of the touch pro and such.
and i had the same problems with M2DC. i tried to apply themes and change settings but nothing took effect. touchflo wouldnt even start up.
anyone else have a solution?
Click sig.....
You will see the link you need
Next go back to the " Themes " tab, to get your new theme, press add. Then navigate to where you downloaded your theme, highlight it and press OK. Your theme will then appear in your settings box. Press " apply theme " and the theme will start to load. You will come to a theme option screen, just press ok. Your theme will then install itself. It will automatically restart TouchFlo and then your new theme will appear on your screen.
If i do the above, the device is "working" but the theme doesnt appear???

Okay, so you have M2DC started and you are on the themes tab. Can you see your theme in the list ? then you click it and what happens?
Thats the thing, the theme never opens in the list, despite the device working as if it is loading it!
As i don't know if you are doing it correct even with instructions?
Here is a video note i made a backup with M2DC ages ago so not in video and the new theme in the .zip "not extracted in location you see"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6987LIsv-Hs
thank you so much for that video ! basically all i was doing wrong was extracting the zip files as i read it "unzip the contents of the theme file"!!
Woot

Ok I have read this site several times and have flashed my phone numerous times and I can say there are some damn good ROM's located on this site..However there are flaws to each one and that is why i am writing this..I do appreciate all of the hard work that goes into these roms for if you guys didnt do them then we would be stuck with the same ol tired looking phones..
For those of you that are new to this please pay attention to the posts for i have learned the hard way..I would like to know how to fix some of the errors that are in these roms because like I said befor each one is different..so far the one that i have found to be the best for most users is OTP v7.5.1 TouchFlo 2D Professional...this Rom seems to have it all together except one thing..the call volume is low and the ringtone volume is also low..besides that this is your winner in my eyes for a power user..
If anyone out there knows how to fix these errors please let me know for I am staying with this ROM until I find a better one...thank you for your time and I will be donating to the rightful developer...

Read everything in this section before downloading the roms and flashing.
If you don't understand it, read it again and again until you understand.
Once your done flashing your device double check back here again to configure your device.
I will not reply to any subjects already covered in this section.
I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just very busy with finishing up this project and also working on other projects.

How To Flash Rom
HERALD-USPL-beta3 - posted by tiksister - rapidshare
How-To Flash the HERALD-USPL-beta3:
Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted OTP v7.1.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.
Break down of how to flash this rom:
Then follow these steps:
II. How do I flash an NBH file?
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.

M2DC
Just tried the M2DC theme manager on 7.3 Std, with a renamed .zip file to .m2dct file (specifically the KnobiSkin from the M2D skin thread).
First time, it locked up. M2DC continued with spinning icon until I forced a reboot. Touchflo was off after reboot, and after enabling it everything appeared to be the same.
Second attempt, I disabled Touchflo from today before applying the new theme. Got the "Applying Theme" prompt. After M2DC closed, I reactivated touchflow and new theme was applied.
Simple instruction for use of M2DC Themes on OTP 7.3:
Find a skin you like, download the zip file (not the cab),
Rename file to .m2dct,
Copy new file to the themes directory of the M2DC install directory,
Disable touchflo in Today settings
Start M2DC,
Go to themes tab (the first time it will back up the default theme),
Click the new theme then apply,
Restart touchflo.
Alternate for creating themes from skin CABs:
Run M2DC first, let it make the DefaultThemeBackup.m2dct file, Close M2DC.
Run the CAB skin of choice.
Rename DefaultThemeBackup.m2dct to OriginalTheme.m2dct (or anything else with same extension).
Rerun M2DC. It will detect no DefaultThemeBackup.m2dct and will ask to back up again. Let it make new backup. Close M2DC.
Rename new file to the name of the new theme.
Repeat for each skin CAB you wish to convert to m2dc theme file.
Note: The M2DCT files can be large (over 3Mb, 660 files backed up). Best to do this only if M2DC is installed on a large Storage card.
Note 2: Several times M2DC appeared to freeze when applying or backing up themes. It looks like it has problems if touchflo is not off prior to running. It does try to deactivate touchFlo then reactivate when done, but it doesn't appear to work flawlessly yet. It is better to deactivate the Today plugin before running M2DC on this ROM build.

I'm impressed. This is how default titanium should be. Very convenient to use.
Thank you very much.
impressive
this is very impressive why should MS hired this guy!hehehe anyway is there any chance for QVGA?
After playing a little bit with it:
- it's all down to personal taste but... I don't like that manila clock too much. Something closer to default titanium would be better.
- Personal taste again, but I think that lines between sections are not necessary as it breaks some "visual serenity" ;-)
- Clock animation are laggy.
- It seems mortscript cannot connect to internet to get weather information, I have to figure out why...
Thank you again!
any chance of a mirror please ? rapidshare drives me nuts thanks
Won't install
After I installed it, rebooted, then uninstalled it (because the weather icon was a huge red "X") and rebooted and try to reinstall it again I always get "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."
How do I fix that? It won't let me install it anymore... ugh and I really like how it looks.
Any help?
I agree with mirakle for the clock and the lines, but i'ts a good work
VGA Please
Wow....
I haven't downloaded or installed it yet, but it looks phenomenal. I agree with a couple of others in that removing the lines would go a long way in improving the "visual serenity".
Nate
QVGA would be great, this is a really nice theme.
Very nice work!
1 problem with weather icon, when my city added and run full update:
Big red cross icon are back, not weather icon.
For fix it i select in weather setting/ Icon/ CheroClock/HTC
Then run full update and it work with good icon.
Thank you so much for your work
Edit= Need select icon on every update

You get this message if you uninstall v1.1 and try to install v1.2 any ideas whats going on ? - I uninstalled everything again & soft reset , but no joy
Hey guys,
I just saw my theme is posted here. Im glad some people like it.
You can find my original thread over at modaco, where you you will get more support on this. Ill try to help here as much as i can.
For the people having problem uninstalling and reinstalling.
1.disable titanium.
2.soft reset.
3.uninstall with sktools
4.soft reset.
5.install the new version.
As for the X's on weather panel.
After you set your location some times the icon folder gets reseted and you get some red X's instead of weather icons. You will have to set it again, go option->weather settings->icon , expand the CHeroClock folder, select the HTC folder and press ok.
Hi bought sktools - a snip for under a fiver today from pocketnet - but since there is nothing to uninstall it still didn't work .. the cab creates the directories but does not populate them, nor update the registry or do anything else apart from unpack the data to application data/volatile.. any ideas - this was a great theme

Im sorry to here that. I can think of some things you could try:
-Clean your registry with sktools. Try to install the new version after.
-Does it let you install the old version? If yes, install it and then uninstall it again with sk tools. (Keep titanium disabled at all times). Try to install the new version after.
-Go to HKLM\Security\AppInstall and see if you have any left overs from my cab (gchrisTitanium). Delete it. Go to HKLM\Software\Apps and do the same. Try to install the new version after.

Description
Basically I have taken Kos's theme and made it more of a black/grey theme. I have gone deeper into the OS and replaced most of the green stuff with black/grey etc.
There are also bits from themes found at xda for other Android devices. Ended up doing a lot more than what i should of really
There is still a bit of green left and most of it is where it makes sense to have it (some check boxes, indicators etc).
WORKS ON MoDaCo MCR3.1 & 3.2 Beta's ROM.
Fixed or should i say replaced, the lock screen for a different one . Hopefully that is it
MetaMorph Version>>>GET IT FROM HERE <<<
Update.zip Version>>>COMING SOON <<<
This theme is purely for people who like black/dark themes. Please don't write bad feedback or that it isn't to your taste, as i won't change it or provide reasons for my choices .
Use the attached Wallpaper for use in SenseUI. In Android it is already default
Big thanks to Kos for base theme, tristan for inspiration & all the CREATORS & ORIGINATORS of anything that may of been theirs in some form!!... (u know who u are )
Enjoy.
KEEP A LOOK OUT.
Details!
Update.zip is 31.8mb in size as its a fair few .apk's
Metamorph file size is just over 5mb, so i have achieved a smallish footprint of this theme.
Modifications
Rework of Android UI
Customised Keypad dialler
Status Bar Icons from HelloMoto
Over 40 apk's have been modified in some way
Changed the Screen Lock pattern icons
Lots of stuff i cant think of.......
*I have only modified the apk's i am currently using on my ROM build (3.2 Beta 5; very LITE version)
Basically i have edited a lot of stuff, changed a lot stuff and borrowed a lot of stuff To make this theme, i like it, now...
And am gonna be making a LITE ROM, based on MCR builds and also a ASOP build based on one of those builds...with this type of theme built in.
FYI
Your Home screens will be reset, i cant do this yet (put them like i want), but in future i will be able to, just need to open the xmls with hextool..will be same result with the update.zip too.
I have used Beautiful Home here in my screen shots for my Home....i just wanted to show you a comparison of HTC vs Android (not much difference)
The Battery Widget is BatteryLife
The Settings Widgets are Beautiful Widgets
The News Widget is News Buzz
I did the Google search bar in the Android UI too
I am ultimately NOT responsible for anything that occurs from use of the provided theme. Use at your own risk and hopefully enjoy it.
B)
How To Install Metamorph Theme
Always BACKUP your Hero (Nandroid or whatever you use)
For best INSTALL RESULTS for Metamorph & update.zip, Re-install current ROM fully, let it install, set up, then reboot when finished...
Then either....
see below for options....
Metamorph Version
1. Download the Metamorph application from the Market
2. Download AndExplorer application from the Market
The above are required, Metamorph uses AndExplorer to search your device for themes
3. Download then copy the .zip theme from this thread, to your SD card to a location you know of.
4. Open Metamorph, and select 'Pick Theme' after it checks your device
5. Select the theme from its location, then Install All (Apply All).
6. It will extract the theme, and a progress bar is now shown in Metamorph as it extracts the theme.
7. It will then install each apk one at a time... it will take some minutes...and some more.....
When it asks to force close an app, please do so.
** I recommend keeping the phone awake during the installation to ensure it installs as quick as possible **
8. When it asks to REBOOT, it probably won't (even in newest Metamorph version), so just manually reboot by turning device off and then on again.
Update.zip Version
1. Download then copy the .zip theme from this thread, to your SD card (ROOT)
2. Boot Device to Recovery mode & flash as normal...
3. Reboot
RESULT
If you already run other themes in some form or another, the best install method above will benefit you most
Nobody tried this yet?
Come on, please leave feedback.
Shokka9
I tried your Theme and its still ob my hero,so i like it.
There is just one thing i dont like:
The dark black coloured Status bar at The Top. Its to dark dir me. When you pull it down its a little more grey, this colour i would like to See as Standard.
Hope you. get what i mean.
Cheers
I get ya bro....
But i prefer the Black bar , thats how i do it....
If you want i could make u a quick Grey bar like the pull down and post later tonight (am at work) and u can just update with Metamorph
right ive installed it this is my first time trying metamorph so bare with me. i followed your instructions above it installed and i then rebooted and ended up with a few problems
-it removed my people.apk completely off the phone
-removed most my widgets from my home screen but i just added these back on
-it completely removed the htc picture frame widget altogether
- when i press the phone button it just brought up a text saying phone it didnt actually open the dailer
- lock screen was still the same
- the pattern password screen was still the same
ive restored my nandroid backup and will try again.
still a no go for me im affraid i tried to install some parts individually but im still having problems. if you could do a update.zip that i can apply from the recovery menu id appreciate it as i like the look of the theme from the screen shots
@ mjcook1984
Thats strange.....what ROM are you running.
For it removing apk's; well thats something i have never seen.
All those widgets, are actually in the metamorph theme too, so it wouldnt remove them.
Try installing one at time.....bit tedious but hey.
Update.zip will come, i made one last night, but it doesnt work fully.
I even sucessfully installed this theme to my own ROM (based on Modaco 3.2 beta 5), it has no rosie etc.
Even tho the ROM didnt have some of the apk's it still installed fine and everything working fine.
I would recommend, wiping, then when fully booted, reboot, then use Metamorph again. NEVER UPDATE a metamorph theme ALWAYS replace.
thers defo something strange i just tried kos-worlds black eclair and that came up with the same problems.
im running modaco 3.1
ah just realised ive not got andexplorer ive been using astro will try again
Hmmm....i tested mine originally on MCR 3.1 (and 3.0 & 3.2) so it should work....
I know you wont want to, but try wiping, reflashing the 3.1 ROM, rebooting, then running Metamorph.
Strange. Have you used any other Metamorph themes before?
no first time ive tried to use it. just tried again with andexplore installed still the same problems but this time the htcpictureframe.apk stayed. i am using a custom theme that was applied from the recovery menu i wonder if that causing the problem. il re flash 3.1 and see if that sorts it
That might be it....
Try again bro
UPDATE.zip now available
update.zip coming to the first post soon....
Posts updated accordingly.

Sorry for my late answer, had to survive the Karneval in Cologne
i give you update later bro...
Check back after 9pm UK time
This is a black status bar theme that looks just like the one you had back in the days when you were running the Eris OTA ROM. This theme is for medium resolution phones like the Eris, Hero, etc.
Gingerbread ROMs
Tested with GSB 1.5 and 2.2, but it should install just fine on any medium-res GB rom. For now there is a single theme file that updates the top status bar. I haven't yet ported the pull-down notification panel.
INSTALLATION FOR GINGERBREAD ROMs:
Download the attached HtcStatusBar4GB.zip file and then install using ZipThemer with these instructions. ZipThemer is free from the market.
CM6-based ROMs (Froyo)
I developed and tested it with KaosFroyo v32, v37, and v39. It will work on most any CM6 ROMs with the same screen resolution as the Eris.
There are two themes, one which just sets the color and icons in the top status bar, and another that updates the notification pull-down panel. Install both if you want the full HTC notification experience.
INSTALLATION FOR CM6 ROMs:
This is now a ZipThemer theme, but also remains compatible with MetaMorph.
1) Install the ZipThemer version 1.1 or above from the Market. Its free!
2) Download the attached HtcBlackStatusBarTheme.zip. Also download HtcNotificationPanel.zip for the full HTC notification experience. The first sets the top status bar, the second modifies the pull-down notification panel.
3) Fire up ZipThemer.
4) Click "+Theme" and browse to, then select, HtcBlackStatusBarTheme.zip. Repeat if you also want to install HtcNotificationPanel.zip.
5) Optionally select a different output zip file, and/or edit the ouptut filename using the "+Output" and "*Output" buttons.
6) If installing both the status bar and notification panel at the same time, expand the HtcBlackStatusBar item and uncheck the "CM Tweak Extras file", leaving the corresponding item checked under HtcNotificationBar.
7) Click "Built It!" to create the flashable update.zip file. The output file is signed and ready for flashing! But don't flash yet, you have to set the notification text colors in separate steps, so continuing on...
8) Press Menu, Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> User Interface -> Tweak extras -> Select a Theme. Select HtcBlackStatusBar if you are only installing the status bar changes, or HtcNotificationPanel if installing both the bar and panel themes.
Click "OK".
10) Now boot into recovery and flash your update.
The file FroyoStatusBarTheme.zip can be used to return the status bar and notification panel to the stock Froyo look and feel. This theme also contains a cmparts_ui.xml for setting the clock and text colors back to black. E.g., same instructions as above to install.
kellinwood said:
The is a black status bar theme that looks just like the one you had

Please read the KNOWN ISSUES section below.
INSTALLATION:
This is my first theme and I'm still learning. THIS IS NOT A
FLASHABLE ZIP FILE! The theme must be installed manually via adb commands, so you must have the Android SDK in order to install
this theme.
1) Make a Nandroid backup first!
2) Extract the zip file somewhere on your computer
3) Using adb, execute the following command:
adb push sdcard/cmparts_ui.xml /sdcard/cmparts_ui.xml
4) On your phone, press Menu, Settings -> Cayanogen Mod Settings -> User Interface -> Tweak extras -> Import colors from XML.
Click "OK". Do not reboot yet. This step sets the clock and date text color to white.
5) Using adb, execute the following commands:
adb remount
adb push system/framework/framework-res.apk.theme /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb push system/app/Mms.apk.theme /system/app/Mms.apk
adb reboot
KNOWN ISSUES
The home screen background image always reverts to the default KaosFroyo image when installing.
Sometimes, after pushing the apk files to the device and rebooting, I would have to re-add my Google and Facebook accounts. The sympom is an empty contact list, no icons in the call log, etc.
On rare occasion the phone would enter a boot-loop after installing the apk files. If this happens pull the battery, boot into recovery, and restore from a known good nandroid backup.

Its fairly easy, I took the plunge a few days ago and all is well so far. Still much to learn for me the curve is steep.
Updated to MetaMorph. All the details are in the first post.
Thanks awesome. I miss Sense but I want Froyo. I can't wait for a Sense Froyo ROM for the Eris.
Thanks, glad you like it.
I don't miss Sense myself, I just think HTC did a better job with the status bar than Google did.

One problem. The bottom graphic of the notification shade is still the original Vanilla white. Was it suppose to change to the black like in the Sense UI?
I also couldn't import the XML file via Cyanogen menu. There was no option to import. Only options were to load themes from SD and it only had Stock and Dark as options.
KaosFroyo v35.1

This theme does not update the notification panel (the pull down part), so yes it remains stock white.
I haven't installed v35 yet... didn't realize it was out until just now. I'll post again after I get that sorted out.

Thanks. I fixed it myself. I could make this theme, I am just lazy =] That is why we need people like you <3
I've added another theme for the HTC pull-down notification panel. Download HtcNotificationPanel.zip and install it using the same seven steps.
I updated the instructions in the first post for CM6.1 (KaosFroyo v35 and beyond).
Thank you!
This is exactly what I've been looking for! I love Froyo, but missed the HTC Status bar.
not sure what I am missing here but I don't understand. after I copy: Copy to /sdcard/CMTheme/cmparts_ui.xml for 6.1.x what or where am I pasting/moving it to?

Once you copy the file into /sdcard/CMTheme, continue at step 6...
6) Press Menu, Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> User Interface -> Tweak extras -> "Select a Theme". Select the "cmparts_ui" theme.
Click "OK" but do not reboot yet. Then proceed to step 7.
This is just what I've been looking for. Unfortunately it's such a chore to install it whenever I flash a new ROM I stopped doing it (I do not like the light status bar). It takes me at least two passes of about 15 steps and it never applies the first time. Metamorph always seems to reboot the device in the middle causing me to start over. It is possible to make this a flashable zip? That would be great.
I am installing this theme as we speak, but how long does Metamorph usually take to patch this stuff in? It's been doing the framework for like 10 minutes now.

It would be my first flashable zip, but I think I can handle it.
If I understand how they work, it means that entire files in the filesystem are replaced and not simply patched like MetaMorph does. In theory this means that the update.zip should be targeted at specific ROMs or major OS version (2.1, 2.2, etc).
Which ROM do you run most often and what is the OS version -- 2.1 or 2.2? Are you just upgrading the ROM versions or going from one ROM to another (e.g., from KaosFroyo to CELB, etc).
Also, are you installing just HtcBlackStatusBarTheme, or both HtcBlackStatusBarTheme.zip and HtcNotificationPanel.zip?
FYI, the MetaMorph delay setting really does help to stabalize the Metamorph install process. I've got mine set to 5000 and it only reboots when patching framework-res.apk, and the reboot seems to happen after it has successfully patched anyway.

MetaMorph usually crashes just after successfully patching framework-res.apk. Usually the device just reboots but in your case it appears to have hung so pull the battery. Be sure you set the Metamorph delay setting to the maximum value (5000). This seems to help a bit.
Also, apply the sub-themes one-by-one instead of using "apply all".

I use Kaos Froyo, currently on v37. I do flash both zip files and have gotten it to work a couple of times. I think it took four tries last time and I did have the max delay in MM.
Thanks for considering my request.
Hey guys.
Hope ur all doing well.
Hope I could find an answear to this problem .. see, I was on (Material Dark) theme whe I was still on lollipop, and after the update I just can't seem to change the theme !
Whenever I try to change it, phone just freezes on 0%(applying theme) then just jumps to 100% (It used to go up gradually) then it gives me the error ( Unfortunately, themes has stopped).
Only the Icons and the wallpaper are changed, but when I go to themes store it show me the DARK MATERIAL is still applyed
I have seen anyone encountering this problem, and I just don't want to do a Factory reset just yet.
Thanks everyone in advance
Did you find a fix? Something similar is happening to me too. I switched themes after upgrading to marshmallow but everytime i reboot, it will revert to the premarshmallow theme even though it shows as uninstalled.

Open Theme Store, long-press theme and try to delete it, reboot. If it doesn't work then try deleting Theme Store data and cache (Settings/Apps/More/Show system apps) and try to apply stock theme again.

Browse the theme folder using ES File Explorer, delete the whole folder and restart, now your theme should be the default one.

Which theme is that?, look inside: /data/ or use the search option to query the name, this should return all files with the theme name, now you can easily delete those.
