How do I set these to point to apps I want? PI2007 has hijacked them for itself - but I'd like to have one allocated to PocketCM (Nice software)
Can't find the option in the settings (or am I just blind?)

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but search this forum for Softkey Changer. With that you can easily change your softkeys.
Just place a shortcut to PocketCM in the Programs folder, to be able to select it from Softkey Changer. (Only shortcuts from the Programs folder are available in Softkey Changer)
Thx - I'll look into it
In Touchflo3D, I'd like to replace the contact manager by pocketCM (replacement for the left quick launch button).
Does anyone knows how to do this ?

Here is the way to change the homekeys IN TFLO 3D.
In a registry editor, go to:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
Here is:
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
hope it help
I try this, thanks
I had a look at these keys. But what i don't understand is that there's different tabs, and so different softkeys for each one, and only one value in the registry. So if I manually enter the adress and the name, not sure it will work, or if it does, i'll certainly have the same hotkey everywhere... but i only want to replace the left softkey in the contact tab...
Hi do you have a black skin for the diamond, I just found a white one (with the correct resoluton).
Thanks,
Pierro
try this one :

The PocketCM FAQ...
How to add this application as the default contact manager?
Easiest way: download and install the CAB version of PocketCM.
You can also do it by hand:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCONTACTS
Change "String 1" value from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts to "\Program Files\PocketCM\PocketCM.exe".
Make sure that you add the "" on the new entry.
Also...
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSPOUTLOOK
Change "String 1" value from "poutlook.exe" to "\Program Files\PocketCM\PocketCM.exe".
without the "" on the entry.
then reset or re-start your Diamond

What I want is changing the softkey on Touchflo3D interface : it has nothing to do with softkey on Today's screen.
I think shonan70 was closer to the solution.
Finally found the solution by myself :

A little app that allow to change default apps in TF3D by the ones you choose...
It rocks !
Hi,
you can open a tab with this:
\windows\manila.exe --switchtopage home.page
Instead of "home.page" you can use:
messaging.page
weather.page
people.page
email.page
album.page
music.page
internet.page
settings.page
programs.page
You can also use the shortcut for:
Manila softkeys:
31. Remap Manila softkeys:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
Example:
HomeLSKPath: "\windows\manila.exe"
HomeLSKText: "E-Mail"
HomeLSKArguments: "--switchtopage email.page"

Thanx for your tutorial,
did you find the name for call log?
I want to map it to Homescreen Call Log, since the built in one looks pretty ugly.
try:
calllog.page
or
callhistory.page
Which means... Anybody could create a today plugin, replacing the bottom scroll bar bar something else but keeping the same pages ?

Hi,
This is almost what I was looking for.
I would like to have a similar solution to add a shortcut to a subpage of Manila tab.
Something like
HomeLSKArguments: "--switchtopage settings.page.sound"
Well, the above does not work.
I would like to add a shortcut on home screen to the "sound" subpage in the Settings tab, so I can quickly switch profiles: normal, silent, vibrate.
Is this at all possible?
Thanks.
btw: I'm sorry! I figured it out a few weeks ago, but forgot to tell you this

No, submenus can't opened with "switchtopage", but maybe someone figure out another argument for manila.exe
"switchtosubpage" or something like that doesn't exist.
@sushilange
Thanx for all your great work! without you guys we would be lost...
I have a little question about pages in manila...
I was thinking that the 'Action screen' in the HTC Raphael might be somewhere in the manila files.. cus the icons are there..??
Just a wild thought
You haven't accidently stumbled upon this??
Oh, this would be very, very cool
This may be perfect for remapping TF3D homescreen softkeys.
How about creating standalone shortcuts? It doesn't work. Anyone tried?
anyone?.............
I have a dutch ROM (1.93) and for me this doesn't do anything.
If I do this:
HomeLSKPath: "\windows\manila.exe"
HomeLSKText: "Music"
HomeLSKArguments: "--switchtopage music.page"
And then click on that button, it doesn't do anything.
Anyone knows maybe for ROMS in other languages than english that the command might be different ?
Can some of this be used to add new tabs to Manila?

Or to change the name and functionality of a given tab?
I tried several Manila ROMS (NATF v3 and v4, Hyperdragon III) but couldn't get used to not being able to customize the screens as I like (say like using SPB Shell and customizing the contents of any given tab).
Further, I have several apps that use a Today plugin (eg Newsbreak, PocketWeather), and I'd like to find a way to incorporate these into the Home page, or to create a Today Plugins tab, or just create a separate tab for each.
The weather tab, for example, is not practical for me, as I live in one city, work in another city, and constantly follow the weather in cities where I (or my wife) are about to travel. So having a single city weather page is of no use to me, and this is why I need to have the PocketWeather tab available.
I'd appreciate any ideas.
Thank you.
Any way to make a shortcut to a tab that will also bring up that tab on the screen? I made a shortcut to the Programs tab that I assigned to a button, but if I press the button while not in Manila it goes to the Programs tab in the background, without actually showing the tab.
Thanks!
EDIT: Nevermind, I just wrote a 2-line mortscript:
Run( "\windows\manila.exe", "--switchtopage programs.page")
show("Start")
create calendar shortcut for today/agenda
hey guys,
i've been searching for some while now, now i have to ask:
i want to create a softkey-shortcut (everything clear so far) to the:
manila calendar today view (agenda view)
I tried everything from calendar.page.today to agenda.page
(calendar.page works fine.. but isn't what i'm looking for)
I searched for possibilites how and what to use, but wasn't able to find anything.
Would appriciate your help,
thx a lot,

I would like to use my right hand softkey to run a specific application - namely PI Agenda.
I know I can use DiamonTweak to change the softkey but it only gives me certain options. Is there any way I can define the softkey to open a certain app or is there a way to add to the list of apps that DiamonTweak offers for the softkeys? Perhaps putting a shortcut to the app somewhere or by adding a registry entry?
Thanks
There's a registry entry that changes the actual softkey use, I can't think what it is offhand.
You could use Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool or Fantastic Bytes SoftKey Manager - they both do this setting better than DiamondTweak.

You can do that in the registry
[Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeLSKPath] for Left key
[Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeRSKPath] for Right key
Here you have to put the whole string to you application, I made one for TomTom:
(\Intern geheugen\Programmabestanden\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe)
Excellent, thanks!
you need to change the text too: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=1611
Hi, i'm deciding what to do with my task manager. (on stock WM6.1 HTC H3G Aus Rom)
At present im simply using the HTC Task Manager 1.51 (build 33547) but am aware that there is 2.1 around.
Currently i have to toggle back to the today screen to switch applications and i have it set to click X to close the application. (i dont know whether or not apps use more resources if they are left open and not set to run in the background, any ideas?)
I want to know what others are using or their thoughts/experiences on these other Task managers. gleaned from Vibranze post here

Guys,

2. Wisbar Advance / Wisbar Lite - http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/
3. HandySwitcher - http://www.dinarsoft.com/handyswitcher/

3. smclose - http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/smclose.shtml (It's not a Task Manager but a utility to do real close).
4. vBar - http://www.vieka.com/vbar.htm
5. tMan - http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/tman.shtml
6. MagicButton - http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/magicbutton.shtml

11. Quickmenu - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340352http://www.yonsm.net/attachment.php?f=attachment/QuickMenu.rar (so far this is the best Start Menu replacement and task manager I can find, kudos to Nanling!)
12. IcBar - http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/icbar.shtml
13. wisBar - http://walkers.ne.jp/ce00_wisbar.htm

HTC seems to improve ONLY the look and feel of their task manager from version to version so upgrading to a new version of HTC task manager will give you a different, possibly improved, look and feel. also, if you intend to use manila (2d or 3d), you'll need to use a newer version of HTC task manager.
finally, search for "Task Facade" developed right here on xda by gps-lover. its an EXCELLENT task manager that i suggest you map to the PTT button...makes "visual" task switching a breeze!
TaskFascade looks interesting. Does it disable the HTC Taskmanager?
I use WK Task and swear by it. It creates a PC type program manager and launcher on your phone. Has many more features and is very customizable.

nope! thats the beauty of it...you get to keep HTC's task manager (with its tap "x" to kill or tap and hold "x" to kill functionality as well as its presence in the home screen) while task facade can be invoked just by pressing the hot key you've assigned to it (i use the short press of the PTT button)
not 100% sure but i think task facade can work with ANY task manager that sits in the home screen (such task managers usually take over the "x" button functionality)
I use QuickMenu+DotFred's TaskMgr.exe, check this post for the way to associate them.
From QuickMenu, you got a task switcher, communication manager, commandline utility, RAM releaser, a lot of useful shortcuts and a real time indicator of battery + available RAM. And it is a very lite tool uses around 130kb RAM on running.
As to DotFred's Taskmanager:
Noonski said:
A lot of long time member and cooks have DotFred's Taskamanager in the toolkit.
Some Taskmanagers do not show ALL running programs.
Dot Fred's does more, shows Processes that can be enalbed and disabled at Start or stop them actively. Has a registry editor, Notification editor, can parse Provisioning xml files and even register DLL files. It's a Tweakers dream.

I also use VJOkbutt, I set the function of 'X' button to 'short press to minimize & long press to close'. I use HButton to map the Ok button work in this way: just press = minimize (the ok/close function in hbutton actually = short press 'X'), press & hold half second = close (VJOkButt), hold another half second = end others (brought by QuickMenu), another more half second = end all (from QM), and another half second = soft reset (by QM or TaskMgr), and then the last function = Today (by QM or HButton).
To switch tasks, just using QM.
