SIM compatability? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I have a Touch Diamond from Australia and am traveling to the US for a month. I have looked into the International Roaming rates, and like anythin from Telstra in Australia, they are excessivley overpriced. My question is can i get a prepaid phone/data SIM in the US and if so, can I place it into my HTC and use? I'm guessing yes, but am unsure.
Thanks guys, sorry if it is a repost of a question already asked.
Cheers

Stupid question i think

Sorry for my bad english..
If i buy a touch diamond in united states can i use it in italy?!
Thanks a lot!!!
Only if you purchase an unlocked Diamond. Otherwise, you have to go through a big ordeal with your carrier (if you buy it from a carrier) to get the phone unlocked.
Is it even for sale in the US yet? I was under the impression that it was still being modified to work there.
If you do get one that is designed for the US, you won't be able to use it in most of Europe as it will be designed for different bands.

[Q] Few questions regarding Tmobile US but in the UK...

Heya folks, sorry if there is a post semi like this one, i honestly did search and didnt see anything remotely the same..
ordered my HD7 and it's arriving monday, but when i was browsing this site i noticed a lot of posts are about tmobile versions of the updates.. i was just wondering,
does the phone not get generic updates due it been on tmobile?
because the phone is unlocked and is stated to be region free.. if i update firmware will it be likely to lock again? (i use o2 UK)
if it will lock, how do i prevent/unlock again/unlock permanently?
Thanks in advance, sorry if these are "nooby" questions, first windows phone and first phone from america..

[Q] Brazil BASEBAND, help.

Hi, i want so much buy a HTC ONE, but here im brazil the basebands for 3G is 2100MHz and GSM/EDGE is 850/1800MHz. Im going to United States next month and my question is What version of HTC ONE i need buy? AT&T?, T-MOBILE?, UNLOCKED?, or if its possible flash a radio compatible with brazil baseband.
Thanks very much.:good:
I had this doubt too. Asked around and the answer is that it will work fine in Brazil. Aren't the versions basicaly the same except the AT&T with a different radio? But surely it has to be unlocked if you want to use it here. I am willing to buy a Dev Edition...
I'm going to NY in July, and buying the One will be the first thing i'll do there.
EDIT: We have no assist from HTC here, so buying it early in the trip could be helpful if any defects are found in the phone, sou you could exchange it.

[Q] HTC ONE, which version is the international version ??

Hi there
I want to buy the HTC ONE "again", but the problem is that I'm not sure which one.
After some research, I've found that there are several different versions of the HTC ONE:
HTC 801n ONE, ONE HTC 801e, 801a ONE HTC, HTC ONE 801W ...
Well why "again"?
Thing is that I had one until recently, the 801n, i got through a contract renewal in Switzerland, and I was very very happy with it!
But the trouble started when I went on a trip again. I travel a lot between Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the US, and due prolonged
stays in these countries, I have a simcard in each country, as well as prepaid and contract, each with internet access (3G and 4G).
Now in Mexico I noticed that my brand new HTC ONE 801n, was not compatible with the frequencies used here (3G, 850Mhz with Telcel Mexico), which made it useless as a smartphone. Therefore I sold it. But I loved this phone, so I am going to buy me a new HTC One!
Question is, which HTC ONE is the right for me?? Also I read everywhere on the internet about an "international" HTC one, an "international version"??
Is this one of the above versions I mentioned? "International," does it mean that it will work with all the frequencies in all the countries I travel to? With at least 3G Internet can use, perhaps even with 4G? And where do they sell it? And how can I identify it?
Thanks for your help

International means quad band GSM. It won't work on CDMA and you won't have all the data bands either. HTCs website has a list if the specs, and there is a discussion thread here with something like U/UL in the general section by mike1986

ok, means will work everywhere as a phone, but 3g or 4g , for example the 801n only in europe ????
Why have you got another thread for the same thing?
