I cant for the life of me get the TTS to work on this could some one please tell me how the folder structure should look and where too unzip the TTS zip file too!.
I have just extracted it too the IGO8 folder but still no joy.
Any ideas please.
Your first problem, you don't unzip it.
Igo8/content/voice
Just place the voice-tts-loq...zip file into it.

Hey I am new, and I am wondering how do you install cab files? I downloaded the midlet manager and i extracted it on my pc, and i see a bunch of files but none of them are cab files, they are all unidentified, can some one help me please? much appreciated
thanks in advanced
Just copy and paste the zipped cabfile in your phone anywhere through Activesync, preferably 'My documents' folder and execute it there in the phone,it'll run and install all by itself.
Cheers!
when I extract the file,I dont see any cab files, So i just put the whole folder in my phone,I try clicking on the files and they wont open,I just get a message sayin
"There is no application associated with "00CAB10A",run application first then open this file from within the application
ok, for 'Midlet' here's how you do it as per the post in Midlet Manager by risidoro:-
------- HOW TO INSTALL ------------
- Download Risidoro's Intent MIDlet Manager version 11.1.7.1023
- extract the cab (inside the archive) somewhere in your PC (e.g. Desktop)
- copy to somewhere in your PocketPC (e.g. \storage card)
- in your PocketPC, navigate with File Manager to the cab and tap on it to install
- when asked, choose to install in the Device (and NOT in Storage Card!)
- reboot when asked
or read the thread :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286604
Cheers!

You are NOT supposed to unpack the CAB!!!
You must copy the cab (Risidoro_Intent_MIDlet_Manager_11.1.7.1023.cab) found inside the zip file from the thread that zabardast linked to your device and simple run it (one click via File Explorer or double-click with Total Commander)
as simple as that...
thank you so much
I got it installed
ok I have a htc droid eris and I can't find the file manager on my phone to get to the files on the sdcard. so I downloaded a file manager app and when I click on the .cab file it does not just install it asks what I want to do open with kind of thing. like browser and a bunch more things I have tried most of them and nothing is working. Is there something else I need to install a .cab file with this phone or wtf is my dumb butt doing wrong to not be able to install it.
Install .cab files to unlock sd card.
Hi, think ive messed up here... can someone help or confirm my balls up!
Ive been following this tutorial to flash my hd2 with an updatable Win.7 rom;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236027
Charging ahead, installed, had a few probs along the way but worked through them... got it installed and working!
Then, moving onto step two of my plan, a dual boot of Android from sd card... :S Do you know whats coming? After re-reading the install instructions I noticed the 'Unlock SDCard' a few steps before installing the rom. :S I have now learnt that Windows mobile 7 locks the sd card to the device and is un-usable in anything else, having already messed up an 8gb and a 16gb...!
Could anyone please tell me if it is possible to 'somehow' install the .cab files to unlock the sd card...? or anyone know of a way to decrypt the sd card?
"THE SD CARD IS UN-READABLE IN MY PC AND PHONE WITH WM6.5 STOCK ROM"
If I re-install the rom from the 'back to the future' tutorial (link above), the storage is available for use on the hd2, but still cannot be seen by my PC... making it hard to install .cab file or anything else!
Both my sd cards have effectivly been high-jacked by microsoft...!
Please help me liberate my GB's...!
Hi Guys.
I'm sorry if this is a covered issue but I have honestly tried to search here and google but I cant seem to over come the problem I have installing opera.
I have downloaded opera (http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/products/)
Both .CAB and .MSi versions but when I come to install, I hit a wall.
.CAB
When I open the folder on my desktop, inside i get an XML file and a whole load of numbered files like .000 FILE, .001 FILE etc and I dont know what to do to install it. I've tried putting all these onto memory card and runing from there but there isn't any .exe to run.
.MSI
Windows vista runs the .MSI and it seems like its installing to the PC and not the TYTN. I dont get it.
Please can you help.
With the .cab part of it...all of those files you are seeing are actually the files inside the cab so you need to back up to the folder containing the .cab and you will see a little blue cabinet just drag that into your tilt directory and run it from there.
Hi thanks for the quick reply!
I can't see a Little blue cabinet file anywhere. When I download from opera website. The downloaded file is a Yellow Folder called 'opera_wm5_sp_865' with all these files inside and no blue cabinet.
Move the .cab file to your phone, use the File Explorer and click it.
Also, the MSI will install it to your phone. Did you ever try going through the entire install process?
once you do get that version of opera uninstalled try the one in my 4shared folder (link in my sig). Its modified build by gsleon3 and it is uninstallable
Oh well it might not be little and blue for you...
When I download stuff I try to download it to a folder where I store all my Kaiser stuff on my desktop so the blue .cab file(blue for me at least) is right there so it is easy to find.
Hi,
Been problem solving this issue all day today and now I've finally realised where i've gone wrong! I've managed to finally install it and it was such a small error on my part.
basically, when i downloaded the .cab file from opera website. The icon of the file was a winzip icon becuase winzip was assigned to open .cab's and i was extracting it without realising it was a .cab file. I just assumed that i was supposed to extract the winzip first. lol.
Well, have all sorted it now and I hope this helps someone who gets stuck like me....
Thanks guys!
Also gonna uninstall winzip now!
I had that problem with WinRar for awhile but I just told it to not touch .cabs
Good thing its all fixed. have fun
Hey guys,
I have been reading up on full 7 digit postcode navigation and it seems to be pointing towards moving a zip folder into the program files folder for tomtom.
I cannot find this infamous "zip" folder.. does anyone have a copy of it they can upload?
This shouldnt be classed as warez as I have a legal copy of the maps just dont seem to be able to find this folder! If it is against rules sorry!
Thanks
When I connected my phone to TomTom Home the first time to download my map, it included some zip things.
It created a folder "zip" in the root of my storage card.
You can get the TomTom postcode zip file free from TomTom.com so is certainly not warez.
Just search support for "postcodes" and in the second suggestion you can download said file. Copy the "zip" folder to "/program files/navigator/" where tomtom is installed and you should get fully working 7 digit postcodes. This worked for me.

Correct, it takes a little finding but here is the search answer.
And here is the link to the "wezipcodes715.zip" file for UK and Nethelands.
Please read the instructions on the Tomtom pages if you have any problems rather than asking questions in this thread.
Thanks.
All
To install first download:
Nfsshift.apk (search this forums ) you will need this 2 times
astrologie filemanager ( search in android market)
*Now use astro to find the. Apk
*Browse to the. Apk go to folder assests and delete all. Mp3 and the big data file. ( res.dz )
*Now the. Apk should be around 1mb.
*Now use astro to install the nfs.apk
*browse again to a second copy of nfsshift.apk
*now extract all the. Mp3 and big data file to: sdcard/android/data/com.ideaworks3d.nfsshift/files/
*start the game and enjoy one level and one car lol
Thanks
could you bee more specific about the files that need to be in the installation version. It closes down like it misses some files when i try to run it
Claus
The installation file use all files expect the .mp3 files and the big data file: "res.dz"
btw error in folder it is
sdcard/android/data/com.ideaworks3d.nfsshift/files/
Same here, it closes by itself after the EA logo screen.
Still no luck.
Are you using a milestone with a 2.1 rom

Hi, Delete the".jpg" off the end of all the files so the mp3's are just .mp3 and the other file needs to be just .dz

Hi all,
I had TomTom UK and Ireland working on my HTC one and before upgrading to 4.2.2 i took a copy of everything on my phone so i knew where to put the folders after the update, eg ringtones etc...
Since the update and moving the TomTom folder back TomTom doesn't pick up the maps, i have tried it in the TomTom folder on the root, putting the com.tomtom.ukireland folder on the root and i have tried putting both of these folders under android>data and the app doesn't see the maps.
Any ideas where this folder should live now?
Rich

Still doesn't work for me with my HTC One Mini (Android 4.2.2).
The only difference is that I'm using Mac OS X, so I'm unable to navigate to .metadata.xml. Instead I check it before I upload it to the device (and there's exactly sdcard). After first launch I reupload .metadata.xml, which again contains correct sdcard name. Still does not work.
What am I doing wrong?

Same issue for me, but I'm on PC. It's outrageous that TomTom has taken this long to fix the problem. It's not like they're an inexpensive application. It's really pissing me off that I spent $40 on the USA version and was only able to use it for six months before we HTC One users get hosed by an OTA update that breaks our software.
