Copy contacts - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an easy way to copy contact from a nokia to the TD2?
Ive saved the contacts to the sd card, put that into the TD2 but it doesnt seem to recognise the contact info, and i dont really want to re-enter all my phone numbers!

Contacts problem.

In trinity, when you copy contacts from sim to phone, u only see phone contacts. So you can edit and save more information under contacts stored on phone. However, in Kaiser, when you enter sim card, all sim contacts are already shown under contacts and sim contacts have limited editing. So in case you copy contacts from sim to phone, it makes it double in conatcs, showing two entries, one saved on phone and one on sim.
Is it possible to view only phone stored contacts without actually deleting contatcs from sim. I want original contacts to be stored on the sim. But copy of them should be in phone with extended informations like 2nd numbers, address, emails etc. But how to avoid two enteries? How to switch sim contacs off in "Contacts"???
I tried finding any solution but :-(.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are my phone numbers stored to a file? If so where?

That only works if he stored numbers in the SIM card to begin with. I have all my numbers on the phone and nothing on the SIM card.
In the future, a good solution for you would be to store all your numbers as windows live contacts. That way, if you need to do a hard reset or your phone gets fubar'ed, dropped in the toilet, or stolen by leprechauns, you won't lose your numbers.
Windows live also keeps your contacts sync'ed between your phone and hotmail, or wherever else you have your live contacts stored.

This happened to me once already. Listen to Nacho
Ok i think your number that are stored on the TILT are stored in a file called PIM. Try copying the file and copy it to your storage card. I haven't tried it but maybe it will work. Then from there you can transfer to your computer and hope that outlook will recognize the PIM.. Do I make sense because I have no idea?

The OP cannot get into his phone because he does not know the password.
Sorry that's classified. You need clearance to access that information.

Hope it helps Good luck.
I don't know much of your older device but could you perhaps use a free exchange account? Useful as a back-up?

Copying my contacts from my other phone..

I've over 300 contacts in my other phone SE P990i, I'm trying to copy them to the X1, is there anyway that i can copy them without using the Outlook? i tried to back-up them and then send the back-up file to the X1 but it always fail,, i tried sending the same file from my P990i and from my laptop,, same result..
Use Bluetooth?
I would try bluetooth a bit laborious but far quicker than manually enterring all your contacts again.
Cant you just save them in your SIM card and then transfer them to your xperia ?

You just can save a name and a phone number on a SIM card, I'm sure he wants adresses, EMail, birthdays and so on copied too.
I copied everything with the storage card because both phones use microsd.
Bluetooth should be possible too.
i did that,, but i dnt see any of my SIM contacts in my X1,, do i have to do sumthing in the sittings to show contacts from the SIM ?

Just open the CONTACTS and then choose MENU and SIM MANAGER. Then you can see everything that lies on the SIM-card

Just sync your P990 with Microsoft Outlook and the sync Outlook with your Xperia.
And, please, leave my private messages for private messages only
I had the same issue. Bought my new X1 a few days ago. Had loads of contacts on my N95 Symbian phone. Bluetooth was laborious and I didn't have access to Outlook.
In the end, I used Google Sync. Worked fantastic.

it does not support Sony P990i how to backup contact from that to x1 using google sync :S or any other software ....
If both phones use Windows Mobile, you can use PIM Backup to backup and the restore your contacts. PIM Backup will also restore your ring tone settings for each contact (not the tone itself). Plus a few other things.

Sim Manger from HTC not showing all contacts

So I had this problem with several sim managers, but I'm currently using the latest one from HTC. I have 150 some odd contacts on my sim card. I'm trying to copy over all contacts from sim to contact list in the phone. But when I view them in Sim Manager, it only shows part of my list of contacts. About 60 or so. I can refresh the list all day, reboot the phone...but I can never get it to view all the contacts. If I remove my sim, and insert it in any other phone (have tried with Nokia e61 and blackberry curve) I can view all the contacts just fine on the sim card. But I'm trying to copy all of them to my Tilt, and for some reason it won't let me see them.
Has anyone had this problem or know of any fix? Thanks in advance!
No idea what the problem is but try this SIM Manager still prefer it over the new versions give it a shot....
I'll give it a try...I BELIEVE I've tried that one already... its the manager where you just have options to copy to contacts, copy to sim, delete from either...you cant actually see the sim phone book in edit form right? I think it didn't work with that previously, but I'll try anything!
