Anyone used it yet? Apparently you can view apps from other countries.
Just used it, and it let me find the Myspace app that for some stupid reason is missing in the european market. Installed and worked great
I confirm I can see paid apps in Bulgaria.
Darn, tried this hoping it could give us back wifi tether in the US but no dice. Any chance someone could make an app that does that?
I can confirm this app working in Sweden using a "Tre" SIM. I can now see paid apps.
Brilliant.
Working on VIVO in Brazil.
Already spend US$10!

All tethering to data plan programs are entirely removed from Market, duo to T-Mobile restrictions. There is one tethering program on the market that uses the BT to provide phone's WiFi to PC.

Install the SlideMe.org market app, it seriously needs some features like search but doesn't pander to carriers.
After restart it stops working. If you re-run it after restart Paid apps appear again.
anyone had this stop working? Went to buy the new foobook app this morning but it was telling me invalid credit card- although it was the same one i used 2 days ago! Apparently it will only accept credit cards from certain countries now... they had a heap of other countries but no australia- they had slovenia for christs sake!..... not sure if this is new or if its a bug in the market at the moment.......
Anyone else had this issue?

Just tried it and I had no problems. I'm in Sweden, with a Swedish MasterCard. Sweden is not one of the official Market enabled countries.

yeah but after it tells me to enter a valid credit card i go to enter 1 and sweden is in the list of valid credit card countries.....austria, belgium, canada, croatia, czech republic, denmark, finland, france, germany, hungary, ireland, italy, netherlands, norway, poland, portugal, slovakia, slovenia, spain, sweden, switzerland, uk, usa......
bizarre mix but no australia! and we have had the dream released officially for about 2months now!
That's odd for sure.

I'm in Sweden and not on T-Mo and I sure can't. Not sure what's up with that. When they removed the tethering apps for T-Mo/US customers they disappeared for me too.

Hi,
Reading this http://androidcommunity.com/android-gets-amazon-app-20090805/ .

Yes, by plugging in a US sim card.
I don't have one!
Can a rooted phone point to a different Market 'source' ?
The Market app is closed-source, so you'll have to spend some time disassembling that. On top of that, the Amazon downloads are geo-located you need a US ip number to access it. Nothing that you couldn't solve with a VPN. But good luck ;-)
You can use this method to install US apps in the UK...

Thank You...will give that a try
Since a lot of people come here looking for the latest last.fm APK, I've decided to keep it up to date on the first post.
Please note, that Last.fm service is not free any more outside US, UK, and Germany.
For full changelog, see the following page http://bit.ly/lastfm-android
You can find older versions as well as patched version (to run outside US, UK, and Germany) of the app here http://www.csmarshal.com/android/ (provided by midafaya).
Thanks for the heads up, sounds great. Congrats on 400 posts

Can someone please attach the APK? Thanks!
Up for the APK... can't find in market...

too late............
Looks like last.fm blocks traffic from norway or something. Got the comminication error in the previous version and was hoping that 1.1 would solve the problem, it did not .
Anyways, thanks a bunch for providing the APK
I think they've made it paid for everyone outside UK or something.

Nope. Due to licensing issues it isn't available outside of a very select list of countries. These include, the US, UK, Germany, and several others that I don't remember

Yes, and all the rest can pay money and get the service. Not sure if the enables the app though.
Could someone attach the new 1.1.1 update apk? I can't get 1.1 to scrobble on the Hero.

It can be coincidence, but my app started working after i paid for a subscription at last.fm. I did not however try to stream music before i paid. Foolish i have to admit
i died try, didnt work before, worked after, might even upgrade my 3g speed cuz of this ^^
I think they should at least publish the apk file on their homepage for paying customers even though outside the countries listed before.
Thanx for posting the apk file!
Cheers, Håkan
I agree with you, but I think that's what XDA is great for
Hello, Do I need a last.fm suscription? I have a normal last.fm user and I get server error connection.
Thanks.

All you should need is a user account. Their servers might be down.
There's actually a newer version now, but that's besides the point.
Last.fm is only free in the UK (and also Germany, I think). I see you're from the states, so it won't work. And I'm not even sure if it will work on Android phone if you get a subscription.
Hey guys, what about we share our SIM country codes, used in MarketAccess, so we can test and see the apps for each country?
I'm looking for an UK code, since my phone is from UK.
My SIM is 72431 (from Brazil, telco: Oi)
Share!
Thanks.
you don't need any of that
just use App Brain
AppBrain App Market
Apk: http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.apps...demonkeys.apps
This app is almost a must have, great for recoveries, switching ROMs, or simply a way to manage install/uninstall all the apps from the PC
more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765081
Errr... AFAIK AppBrain does not give you access to paid apps if you are in a non supported country, like ALL minus 12 or 15 countries.
But thanks anyway.
If you have root you can use market enabler to access paid apps in other countries
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Why people just don't read the question before posting answers anymore?
Jeez...
all the online Apps Stores can get you access to paid apps when you access it from the PC
once added to the gmail account, you can download it regardless of country restriction
That's why AppBrain and many other ones works
it's only the stock Android Market, that have such restrictions

Really?
And how do I purchase and pay for an app via AppBrain?
I can't see how. Oh, and they say on the website that you can't purchase directly from them.
Please, explain me how.... using AppBrain.
Thanks.

you purchase trough your google account.
But I´ll follow your question.
I´m in Denmark with TDC sim code - 23801
at&t 31038
Great, thanks for the codes.
Anyone else?
Oh, I tried and looked several times in AppBrain, there really is no option to purchase anything directly from the PC via "my google account".
Not that I could find.
Thanks, and keep the codes comming!
where would i find this SIM code for you? I looked in application market settings and in about phone but i couldn't see it
edit: delete
I am using the new Android version of Line2, the VoIP product for making calls over a Wifi connection from Toktumi. It was released yesterday. I have Attn1's Froyo 2.2 FR008 with a rooted Aria.
The Aria is not specifically supported. However, the sound is good on my end but some people I called noted static.
Once the program is started, it runs in the background and you cannot "exit" the application short of force closing it. (The "menu" button which in many apps points to an "exit" function, does not provide one). Not a big deal.
If you have WiFI access and need to cut back on your phone minutes, it might be worth trying for about $10 a month.
Can you please upload the apk!
Thanks in advance!!!

The Line2 app is available in the Android Market: search for "Line2" or available to download here: http://www.line2.com/download_android.html
Thanks!
Thanks for starting this thread! I'm the developer of the Line2 for Android and would love to hear feedback good or bad.
As for which phones are supported, we were very conservative with our list to include phones we've tested heavily. We have other phones that work well but haven't received the amount of testing we like.
One particular reason we're hesitant to just certify all phones is that we have found some hardware related issues on some devices such as the Evo.

Hi, sorry, but the application is not available in the Android market outside of the US and Canada. You need a US/Canada credit card to activate the paid service.

I can't post the link b/c I am a new member but if you search the market for Line2, it is free
I got a Pixel Qi 3G Adam tablet from Notion Ink a few weeks back and am unable to get Line2 to work over the 3G connection. It appears that 3G VoIP options are disabled by default and the Dialing tab appears to be missing. Wi-Fi calling works, and I can sign into my account over 3G, but I can not make or receive 3G calls. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I am using a G2 on T-Mobile and have experienced the exact same issue... no 3G/Cellular calling. I too am missing the Dialing tab in the settings so there is no way to tell Line2 to make or receive call. I have been around and around with Customer care but to no avail.

Sorry, I tried that for this as well as for other apps and it didn't work. That's because my phone is branded.
Time for a rethink, because I want to be able to get some apps but at the same time my phone is really good as it is now.
I don't want to brick it.
thanks bro.
---SOLVED---
Unbranded, installed Cyan Update, done. I used @anaheiim 's guide to do so.
I got many updates my operator was blocking, and the awful thing is they told me (yes, you are reading well) that if I wanted an update I'd have to buy a new device.
Whatever, thanks to this beautiful community I managed to do it.
Thank you very much!
