Hi all,
Sorry if this is a silly question.
What does it mean when the network status icon appears faded or 'ghosted out' as in the screenshot attached.
I've seen this with G, 3G, E & H symbols and it seems to happen regardless of signal strength.
I couldn't find anything in my manual about it.
Thanks for your help.
I think this happens when GPRS is attached/detected in legacy mode. I don't know much details, so someone more experienced here may throw more light on the same

I've done a search, but didn't come up with anything. I am positive that I am searching for the wrong terms because I've seen posts answering the following question before:
Could someone point me in the direction of registry settings to remove the big wireless indicator icon? There's no point in having the big H, 3G, E, or G symbol at the top menu bar and then having the smaller H, 3G, E, and G with the reception bars right next to it. I wanted to remove the big one and still keep the smaller wireless indicator and reception bar, if that makes any sense.
Thank in advance!
Hello,
i had something strange on my diamond for a while now, the network band icon on the upper bar of the windows mobile changes all the time.
i wouldnt bother if it changes "E" to "H" of to "G" but for each it seems to have two icons, i.e: it sometimes shows the "E" icon with solid white background, and sometimes shows the "E" icon with gray partially transparent background.
is there any differences between the both "E"s?
btw this happens with the "H" as well, not sure about the "G"!

Hey guys i want to have a 3G icon in my xperia but i cannot get it please help me with this issue do i need to change my network settings? i tired googling but i could not find any solution please help
Hi there,
I have a Xperia X8 with the Rom "Froyobread" installed, too.
At my homescreen I can't find the "3G" symbol like its normal as on Apple's IOS.
But there is a "H" below the two arrows, which indicate the up- and download.
The "H" stands for HSDPA - High Speed Downlink Packet Access. I think its the same as the "3G Standard".
If there is an "E" below the 2 arrows, indicated at the top corner, you have only the slower EDGE Connection. As a consequence, it is the "2G Standard".
Greetings from Germany.
Hey dude thanks actually i get the H icon in my Mobile i thought it is lower than the EDGE i think getting the H icon is more than enough.
but is there a way to see if some data are being transmitted or if the "H" symbol just means that that area is covered by HSDPA service?
On symbian, for example, you always see the 3G icon, when under coverage...
Well, you could use Phono, which you can get from the market, it will give you a lot of details about your network and its free!!!!!
So this morning i noticed on my way to work that my cell network icon has a "!" mark next to it, with no indication of the connection type (LTE, H ect). at first i thought it was because i had no internet connection for some reason, however, when i pull the notification shade down i see the icon for network connection has the connection type (says LTE) as well as the "!". So the notification shade had LTE and the ! while the status bar icon only had the "!". I confirmed that access to the internet was fine by checking websites and running speed tests. Anyone experience this issue?

I did as I posted in my other thread about this. Now if there is a way to put my Preferred Network Type back to "Global" instead of LTE (recommend) I switched it because I thought I had no internet either until it showed LTE on the notification shade too.
Looks like it was a problem with tmobile this morning, back to normal now

Hello everyone, I just got this phone a few hours ago and theres something that bothers the hell outta me. My network signal shows both 4G/LTE icons making the signal go behind the notch, I have not found a solution yet for this issue.

Mine shows only one 4G not 2.
Like in the screenshots. Isn''t this your theme?
Got the default theme as soon as I turn down wifi it shows 4G LTE all together.
This is how it looks btw.
