Problem with Virgin (UK) Instant Messenger - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi, noob here so bear with me! Just unlocked my HTC Tytn II ( from Orange) and eventually managed to get GPRS and MMS working on a Virgin PAYG sim (details from another thread on this great site). Decided to get myself a Virgin contract with 6 months free Instant Messenger and as GPRS was only 30p a day. Unfortunatley to keep IM free I cannot go through the normal MSN Messenger link. Virgin customer services sent me a link to download but it says my phone is not supported. Any ideas/fixes/cab files would be much appreciated before I revert to another phone for 6 months! Thanks.

o2 PayG on XDA2i
Hi,
I too had this problem - I finally managed to find out after visiting several phone shops that you can't access o2 web via prepay, only wap.
Something to do with way PayG service works.
when you do a major reset itll ask you what sort of sim ugot....and then sets all the gprs n wap connections...that might do...

BB Connect Question

Hi there
I'm due for an upgrade (got a HTC Wizard @ mo) and wanting to avoid carrying mobile & blackberry - have read that I can put BB Connect on Kaiser and this seems a good option.
My question is - work use Vodafone for BES - but do I need to be on the same network or can I stay with Orange and get BES activated on my account? I use my personal phone (had same number for years!) and just bill the company back - so would prefer to stay with Orange (for call plan) if possible.
Have asked Orange (UK) and they couldn't give me an answer that made sense, so thought I'd ask here!
Thanks for any help
Dan

Your Kaiser can work as a blackberry if you install BlackBerry Connect 4 on your device. Regarding the SIM card, it has to be the one given by your Blackberry service provider. I mean if you use Orange for the phone, and if Orange is not you blackberry provider (it shouldn't be) then you will have to put the blackberry SIM card in your Kaiser and use another phone for your Orange SIM card (I know blackberry can also provide the phone functionality if you ask it and of course pay for it...).
I know you can put two SIM cards in your Kaiser using a specific tool (the brand name is SIMORE) but I don't know if it works with the Blackberry SIM cards (all I know is that is does not work with 3G ...).
thanks for the reply - what do you mean when you say that Orange shouldn't be my blackberry supplier?
surely i can get phone & blackberry on the same sim card, rather than use 2 sims?
not sure if i have an answer to the question yet either. to receive work e-mail do i need to be on the same network (i.e. vodafone) or can i be on a different one (e.g. orange)?
thanks

BB Connect comes on the application disk and is running on my Stellar right now. Obviously you have to tell O2 you want a Blackberry tariff before it will work.
I've had it running since I got my phone on Friday and my only complaints so far are that it didn't pull down all my old emails off the server like my 'real' Blackberry did/does and it appears you have to go through the Blackberry Internet Explorer shortcut to browse the web.
Blackberry tariff is £10 a month for (allegedly) unlimited email and browsing, though I suspect there is a FUP of 200meg, like on the data bolt on.

Kaiser on T-mobile ?

Anyone using this successfully ? I'm looking to buy this phone, want to make sure someone is happy with the phone on the U.S. T-mobile network first.
Works fine!
Bought mine out of Hong Kong (unlocked, of course), inserted my T-Mobile SIM card, made a few modifications to accomodate T-MobileWeb, and I was up and running in about 5 minutes.
No problems
I got an unlocked Kaiser. Popped in my sim card and phone and Total Internet settings were ready in seconds. Never a problem since.
bought mine in september..using the tmobile blackberry plan(cheaper same speed as total internet)... sets up the settings for you.... pop the sim in turn it on no mods necessary..... upgrade to 6.1 though ;-) threaded text is nice
yep, my tilt works good... Called up ATT and told them i going over seas and BAM! Unlocked in like 2 minutes... configured it for Tmobile and works Marvelous.

Total Internet plan (w/ free hotspot) is only 19.99 which it is same as the full Blackberry data plan.
Too bad that Starbucks is going to use ATT for their wifi service soon.

Vodafone Ireland Setup

Hi,
Just got my Diamond and am over in Ireland. But I'm having trouble getting my emails.
I went through the setup on screen to create the accound for my gmail and I successfully got my mails through my Wifi at home, but when I'm away I can't seem to get it to download them?
The vodafone shop said I have a 3G card? I am on PAYG, but I should be able to connect?
Is there some setting I could be missing?
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks...
PS, I've only had the phone about 2 days, not had time to get new ROM, still on original one, 1.37 I think!
