I've delete the "account outlook" by activesync (unchecking the email sync) but I cannot delete the other accounts that I have setup directly on Diamond2 (mobileme and Gmail)!
It makes me change them but not eliminate completely! How can i do?
I hope in the knowledge of someone who says to me: "use total commander and delete the file xxxxx point!"
In account's options where there is: "Tap an account to change settings", I hold above the account to delete but nothing happens and when I leave it appears a screen which says:
Contents:
Edit Account Settings
Schedule Send / Receive
Download size settings ....
but no reference to cancel account! and below I just choice only Ok or Cancel? Ufffff ..
In the mail tab, I click Menu-> Accounts-> Account.
Selected the account, below there is "Delete" but is gray and not allow me to click!
That's strange!
(On Xperia I can do this but cannot on the Diamond2!! )

Hey all,
I've always prefered IMAP over POP3, and out of habit just perfer to set things up this way when given the option. I've been on 2 WM6.1 roms and have now found that I can't setup Gmail for IMAP on them. It seems that with WM6.1, when you put in your email address as @gmail.com that WM6.1 goes into autodetect mode automatically and you can't choose not to do this to override the settings (Even the Gmail help says to choose a manual setup for IMAP but WM6.1 appears not to let you do this).
So my question is, does anyone know a workaround? For now I guess I'll live with it being POP3, but would really prefer IMAP settings if I can find out how to set it up.
yes you have to create a fake domain. so i do. [email protected] then you have the option of manually inputting instead having it to look for it looking automatically.

Thanks but you missed the whole point of my post. I've setup imap for gmail on wm6 many times. WM6.1 does the auto settings if you have a gmail.com address and configures it for pop3. The check box mentioned isn't there.
try not putting in the actual Gmail address on the first window where it asks you so it wont recognize it.
I tried [email protected] it lets me on to the next screen where you can do this

This is what I did as well. Worked for me.
Thanks guys. Yep the fake domain (Dang, I should have thought of that ) worked fine to get around this new "feature" of WM6.1.
All you had to do was search Google for "IMAP Gmail WM6.1" and the first, second, third, fouth, etc... result would have answered your question. Or you could have searched these forums and found tons or posts specific to this topic.
Someone with 2,239 should know that! zomg =P
OK, this is probably a silly question, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.
I have set up a mail account to Gmail. In that account I'm forwarding some other accounts of mine, so it gets pretty crowded.
What I would like to do is delete messages from my phone but NOT from Gmail.
Outlook Mobile offers two choices, as far as I can see: when deleting messages either
Move them to server trash, or
Delete them off the server.
Neither of those suits me. I only want to delete them from the bloody phone.
A further restriction is that I like to use my mail from TF3D, and therefore would rather not having to install another mail client unless TF3D can somehow be coerced into working with it.
Oh, and in case you wonder - I don't sync my mail with the desktop Outlook. I'm using Gmail more and more...
Thank you all for your help.
have you tried both options, and seen what the effect on the server inbox is?
ive thought of this before, and it annoyed me greatly, but i cant remember the solution. plus, we all know how wm doesnt word things correctly.
rory
err... sorry.. duplicate post.. don't know why
Tap on mail (touch flo)
Inbox
Menu-Tools-options
Tap on Gmail
(setting should open up now)
Hit 'Edit Account Setup'
Click on next next next next next
(hide key board on Automatic Send/Receive screen)
Hit 'Advanced Settings'
When deleting messages: (drop down menu)
You can set it there to not delete the messages from the server
Hope this helps

Thank you for your answer. However, I only have the two options described in my first post. Can you see a third option there?
err.. oops. Just checked again
I could have sworn it was there!
Sorry mate. guess that was on the P1 or something.. not sure.
This might not be a feasible solution, but ... just a thought..
You could set it to keep the messages only for the last 4 or 5 days..
that way, they won't be on your phone, but will be on your server.
A POSSIBLE workaround.. definitely not a solution
Here is what I configured to use the diamond without loss of messages during their removal :
I created a special e-mail address to use with my mobile phone, like [email protected].
And I set up a redirect additional for all my messages to it.
Now, I can delete all my messages without erasing the ones on my main account.
Try to go to "tools" - "option". Click the account you need to edit. Click "send/receive schedule" - "advance settings" - "when deleting messages" dropdown menu.....

Same thing. Just the two options.
Delete from Server.. or Move to Server Trash
OK, I think I've got it. It all boils down to the fact that the default Gmail setup is IMAP. If you change that to POP3 (using the instructions from Gmail) you will be able to delete your mails on the phone only.
It would be nice if someone could confirm this. It certainly seems to be working for me.
EDIT: WORKS! I get "Keep them on server" now.
The problem is related to the gmail server own rules. I have just made a test account and there is no "keep on server" option on the WM mail client. On my other account (my own domain/server) there is no problem.
You could use another mail provider (hotmail, live) for example.

Turns out it actually is IMAP vs POP3. While IMAP is generally better, when you do something locally (on the phone) it is as if it was done on the server (a disadvantage in this case).
The key is to fool Diamond into not recognizing Gmail, which means giving the address as [email protected][B]gm[/B].com, then put all the POP3 settings.
On the other hand, I've noticed it will only download the unread messages...
I have an AT&T tilt with the original ROM. I am using iFonz 0.9.9. In my messaging window I deleted my outlook account cuz i dont use it. I then added my gmail account. I set it up correctly and everything works fine with it. Its just that when I click on the messages icon it just takes me to the main messaging window where it shows
-Messages
[email protected]
-Add new account
then I have to click on [email protected] to go to my gmail inbox. What I want is to be able to go directly from my today screen to the gmail inbox when i click on the main messages icon on the today screen. I am using iFonz. So I click and hold on the icon to bring up its settings. In the file box i put
\Windows\tmail.exe and that works to bring to the main messages screen where it has the 3 options of
-Messages
[email protected]
-Add new account
So what I need to know is what to put in the arguments box so that it will go to the inbox of the gmail account. I got my sms inbox icon to work where the file box is (\Windows\tmail.exe) and the argument is (-service "SMS" -open "inbox") But I have no idea ow what to put in there to get it to go to my gmail inbox.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I figured it out. Maybe this will help someone in the future. It is like the sms argument except for where "sms" goes you put the name of the email account you want to open. So for example. [email protected] would put this
file code ----> \Windows\tmail.exe
argument code ------> -service "JohnDoe" -open "inbox"
In messages, go to menu - extra - options. Here you can edit your preferences of the account chooser (maybe not the correct name, I use the dutch version ) By unchecking the checkbox you can disable the account chooser.
Sweet , this was just what i was after for the UL today screen on my Touch Cruise, now I have icons for direct SMS inbox and email, instead of just the messeging area.
I had to make one tweak though on the email side, instead of using my name I entered "Windows Live" as thats the system I use and bingo Bango it goes straight to the Windows Live in Box.
Code:
"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "Windows Live" -open "inbox"

Shotcut to email in WM65
If yor are running WM6.5 the syntax will be:
:MSINBOX -service "service name"
I couldn't make the -open option work, it rather goes to the latest open window in the sms or email account.
Hope it helps!
Hi, when using TF3D and I select the email tab I am shown an account that does not exist. If you go to the mail accounts it is not visible there. Clicking on the mail envelope in the middle that shows an email (the account did exist once) does nothing.
I want to remove that account. I assume its a registry tweak. Does anyone have the answer to how to remove it?
Cheers,
Brisnick
It seems it's not possible to have 2 hotmail accounts on same device, when I create a new one, the old one dissapears. Can I get around this somehow?
Yes, you can. Instead of using Live, I used Hotmail's POP/SMTP settings. Second, when setting up the accounts in Pocket Outlook, when INITIALLY asked for your email address type your [email protected] and select to manually enter the rest of the settings vs automatically detecting them. Then, when you have everything setup, go back to account settings and change the original [email protected] to [email protected].
You only need to use the h.com on the initial account setup screen. The reason for this is if you enter hotmail.com it will kick you over to Live and then you are stuck using one hotmail account only.
Hope this helps!

BTW, here are the POP/SMTP settings if you need them;
You can set up POP3 or upgrade to a more recent version of Outlook.Add a Hotmail POP3 account in Outlook:
1. In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
2. Choose Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
3. In the Server Type box, select POP3.
4. In the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) box, type the following Hotmail account information, and then click More Settings.
Under User Information:
· In the Your Name field, type your name.
· In the E-Mail Address field, type your Windows Live ID
(for example: [email protected]).
Under Server Information:
· In the Incoming mail server (POP3) field, type pop3.live.com.
· In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field, type smtp.live.com.
Under Logon Information:
· In the User Name field, type your Windows Live ID
(for example: [email protected]).
· In the Password field, type the password you use with your Windows Live ID.
5. On the Outgoing Server tab, select the My outgoing server (SMTP)
requires authentication check box.
6. On the Advanced tab tab, type the following information, and then click OK.
Under Incoming Server (POP3):
· Select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) check box.
· In the Incoming Server (POP3) field, the number 995 should display. If not,
select the number and type 995.
Under Outgoing Server (POP3):
· Select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) check box.
· In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field, type 25 or 587 for the port number.
· Select the Leave a copy of messages on the server check box if you want to see your messages when you use Hotmail in a web browser, your mobile phone, or other e-mail programs. If you want to delete your messages from the Hotmail server after you read them, clear this check box.
7. Click Test Account Settings.
If the test is successful, click Next. If the test fails, check the values you typed in step 4.
8. Click Finish.

You're most welcome.
