so i updated my phone to the jf v1.5 and everything works except for my market i get a ATTENTION message saying: A server error has occured. retry or cancel and return to the previous screen...this message now pops up with the dude's update and Hakuro's update for the v1.5 does anyone know anything so u can use my phone? help?!?!?!
did u send ur apps to the SD CARD?....i got that message when i had done so and had my SD CARD mounted to my pc....as soon as i unmounted..it worked
check your network settings and make sure your data plan is still active.
Just to make sure that it has nothing to do with network settings, try accessing the market via WiFi instead of 3G.
im not exactly sure what you mean by if i sent my apps to the sd card. but i do know that i totally dc the sd card and phone from my pc.
and my data plan is still active. the market was working on a older version of v1.5 made by Hakuro but his newst version and the dude's and JF's aint workin on my phone and the market keeps giving me that wierd post.

hi i have apps on the sd card that want to upgrade but since i installed them from the sd card they don't appear in the market i just wanted to know if there was a way to update apps that are installed from the sd card such as paid ones thanks!!
Install atrackdog
thanks works great except i cant get the paid apps to update without buying them all over again any ideas?
Really? Paid apps are binded to your gmail account...so unless you changed to another Gmail you should be able to buy and update any app you paid for regardless of how many ROM flashes or wipes
when you try to redownload a paid app or update it, it always says "verifying credit card" no matter what...dont worry its not charging you again......
ok so tmobile gave me a new g1 to replace my deffective one... i want to restore all my apps... i didnt back up anything but im guessing all my apps are on my sd card. how do i go about that?

If you swap over the SD card from your old phone to your new phone, all yours Apps will be there if you're using a ROM with automatic Apps2SD (such as Cyan's). They should come up in the market too if I'm not mistaken.
I'm getting a new g1 to replace my beater g1, I plan on using the same cyanogen rom and sd for the new phone. Will the apps show up on the phone like before or should I delete them all off the card and redownload them again?

it aint's gots to be so big. and they should show up on the new phone just fine but you may need to delete dalvik-cache off the sdcard for the new phone
So I have failed...
I did an upgrade from Cyanogen 4.2.7.1 to 4.2.8 by using CM Updater, as always, and didn't bother with performing a backup or wiping.
This upgrade procedure used to work without any problems, but now I find my G1 telling me "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and I'm not able to do much before the message pops up.
I can receive phone calls, but other than that I'm pretty much helpless.
What I have done so far, is to re-flash both with the same image, and 4.2.6 which I had on the sd card.
I have also tried the fix_permissions command, and the check/fix ext, but nothing has helped me so far.
What I was hoping for, was that somehow I could be able to at least start Mybackup Pro to perform a (last) backup of my messages (SMS/MMS) and my phone log, before I wipe and install 4.2.8 again, hopefully with better luck.
Or, is it possible to perform a "manual backup" of these items by accessing the sd card directly? I have an Apps partition, does any of these Items belong there where I can make a copy?
Or is it possible to flash an older Cyanogen ROM that would more likely work without the acore error, and let me run Mybackup?
My computer is running Linux (Ubuntu), I have no ADB access, but I am able to mount the sd card via the G1 (the notification bar is possible to access, and it seems that any thirdparty program that I may succeed in launching will not be affected by the acore error, but I have tried 30 times to pull up the app list to start mybackup but I'm hit with the acore error each time...).
Any hints are highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Christopher
I'm getting the same thing ...acore
This is my first post in a forum but long time reader of xda. I don't know the common lingo but know how to get around to do things to my goofy little phone. I did a google search on CM 4.2.8 and the acore error that brought me here.
I'm getting the same error even though I'm using MT3G. I was getting this error back in the past couple CM versions, kept doing an CM updates thinking next version would clean things up. The acore error continued on making calls, opening browser, opening market or etc. Eventually FC started happening. These occurances always happenned 8 to 20 hours after update/install of CM and light use of my phone.
Last night I decided to do a CM clean install to what the CM wiki or CM xda guided me to perform (flashed 1.5 nbh, FlashRec, 1.6 base and CM 4.2.8). I didn't bring back any old apps since I didn't have anything worth saving. Phone was running great untill making a call this afternoon ...got that dreaded "The process android.process.acore has stopped..." message again. I'm going to try another one of my older micro sd cards thinking my class 6 PNY might be crapping out. Hopefully someone might have some more information for us before I try this route. Anyone please help and guide us to the right information to correct this. Thanks, Greg.
This is proper step, do this when you get the chance..
1.Wipe everything
2.Install 1.6ADP Htc
3.Install cyan right after
4.reboot
5.should goto recovery again, now reboot once more
6.bam-back in action
Does anyone know if it is possible, with a Cyanogen ROM, to make a copy of a few system databases just by taking the SD card and inserting it into a card reader of a computer?
My SD card has three partitions: data, apps, swap.
I need a backup of
* messages (sms/mms)
* phone log (incoming/outgoing calls)
* browser bookmarks
If I wipe my phone, I will loose these... :-(

Or by booting into Recovery, and enter Terminal - can I somehow manually copy these data files from the phone to the SD card, and then restore them after a full "re-flash" with wipe and the works?
~Christopher
I was finally able to run MyBackupPro by using the search function - on the 15th try or something, MyBackupPro finally showed up as an application finding and it ran without problems. So I have now made a successful backup of the most important databases. I tried to start a few other applications by searching for them as well, but they never showed up in the results. Oh well, I guess I will just perform a wipe and reflash of latest Cyanogen ROM, and then start re-installing applications again.

Did this work for you? I have a G1 with same ver of CyanogenMod that started giving me the android.process.acore error to when trying to place a call. Wonder if there is a issues with Cyanogen's 4.2.8 & 4.2.8.1 mods...

does anyone know how to plz i have the same problem wit the sd card reader i wipped my phone and its not allowing me to flash anything from the zip card and its ot the card its the reader so does anyone know how to fix??
First, both of you need to rule out SD card falilure/user error. Does your card work in your computer? Can you format it to FAT32? If you can and your phones can't see it or any other cards.... you might as well get a new phone. As far as LatinIME FCs, go download any VK from the market or install HTC IME (which is way nicer anyway), go into settings-locale&text and uncheck stock VK, check whatever new VK of your choice is. That will stop FCs

but is their no way that i can install a rom or anything thru adb or sumthing cuz like my phone doesnt have any rom on it right now so yeaa i havent used my g1 in like maybe 2 weeks=( so like i just wana load a rom and be able 2 use my phone i really dont care for da sdcard
If your SD card is broken, get a new one.
How can you logically expect to use the phone without one? I'm aware you CAN, but I mean there are so few ROM's out there that don't use A2SD, let alone you can't make nandroid backups, and some apps can't store data. Maybe I missed something, but is there a reason you can't just use a different SD card? You can buy an 8gb class 6 MicroSD for under $20. If you can afford the $200-500 phone....

It is possible if you unpack the update.zip and manually copy everything over to the right place, then flash the boot.img with fastboot.
Surely it's simpler to just buy a cheap card though? Without a2sd your choice of what to flash is going to be severely limited.
the sd slot does not work at all. i have 2 sd cards a 1gig and a 4 gig(class6), the problem is the rom is acting up and i cant correct the phone without reverting back to stock, but in order to do that i need the sd card slot to be working. thats why i want to know if you can push the file to the phones ram and try booting it from there or even do it from the computer. and i also wanted to see if bringing the phone back to stock would probably fix the sd slot. so if someone has an idea im open to trying it out
Few days before i flashed Hyperion rom in my galaxy pocket. After sometime i started getting force close from all applications. After little research i found out that my internal memory may be corrupted. I can read everything from the internal memory but cant write or delete any data. I think Apps also cant write data to the memory. For instance i can receive calls on the device but call log doesn't gets registered. Adding a new contact works fine but upon restarting i can't find that newly added contact. I tried clearing data , installing custom rom from CMW but nothing worked. Installing roms and clearing data doesn't show any error but upon restarting the phone it goes back to old state. It is pretty much like a corrupted SD card. Is there a way i can fix this?
Thank you
Same (it looks, like nasty virus got inside) things - i have, and since i dont have a PC - i would like to know, if there is some alternatives to Odin - to try to reflush stock ROM from another mobile?
Sounds like an emmc issue.
