(THEME) Blackberry Redux (WAD2 + SMS-Chat + FunContact)

This theme is based on my previous Blackberry Bold theme, but, as you can see, looks nothing like the old theme. All of the graphics come from the Storm Precision set I found on a Blackberry message board.
WAD2 Installation:
1. Drop the "Bold" and "Bold P" folders to the WAD2/Themes folders.
2. Drop the "Themes" folder into the root directory of your Storage Card.
3. To change to the theme, go to WAD2 Settings, Change Theme, Set Bold P as your Portrait theme, Bold as your Landscape.

Now some of the SMS-Chat.
Installation
1. Drop "Black" and "Black_Alert" files into Vito/Sms-Chat/Skins/Bin folder.
2. Restart SMS-Chat.

And finally, FunContact (Not 100% complete, but all the basics are there.)

what version of sms chat are you using. Its important to say what version cause they add graphics in newer versions and im running sms-chat v1.05 and these graphics mess the look up. Nice work though.

I use version 1.16 for SMS Chat. 2.16 for FunContact.

hey this version runs the best on my device so i don't complain about using an older version it does what i need it to do and so far with no bugs. I have tried newer versions and they bug out on my phone.

A couple of requests:
1. Any way to make the bluetooth icon a little more finger-friendly?
2. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but when I choose the vibrate option from the phone, the picture of the phone in the left hard corner disappears.
3. Anyway to get the Contacts skin for iContact Burt Edition?
4. Anyway to get a matching dialer skin?

Great Skin in here I just happen to discover. I'm using Sms Chat 1.25 and I had to redo a little bit the layout in photoshop to make it work. But the problem I seem to have is concerning the gradients. Sms Chat seem to apply a transparency on it and the type of gradient you used for the skin bars is creating artefacts. Any ideas?

The problem is with VITO's forced transparency on some of their graphics. Happens with Fun Contact also and with most of the Winterface themes I built. Not sure how to get around it.

You're right, that's what I figured, playing around with the theme. And the thing is it's quite difficult to know exactly the conditions to create a clean bmp with vito's specs. That's a bit of a shame, since their original black skin has gradient as well and does work well. And as you say, it's the same with funcontact.
When looking for some Winterface themes, someone managed to create skin files (not just replacing the bmps) by editing the hex code of the theme.skin file. It was easy to find the declaration of the bmp files needed to make a custom skin and I think, somehow it might be possible to find a transparency parameter in this file.

[THEME] Throttle Max Sense Public Beta 0.85

I have released a public beta version of my new Throttle Launcher theme over at the Throttle Launcher forums HERE
The theme has been created with permission from maxycy and bignadad for the graphics
The theme has been tested on wqvga and vga devices and was created for those with lower powered devices that want to experience that max sense feel.
Before you start using the theme be sure to run through the configuration, go through the theme settings and pay extra special attention to the programs section where you need to specify what programs will be used to perform certain functions. There is also an exes folder included with some goodies already for you, these are provided as is and may not work for every device.
The weather requires you to Download animations which can be stored on your storage card and pointed to from within the config.
When you press any of the taskbar icons you will see a page similar to that in screenshot 4 to exit to the homescreen you can click on the first icon or to return to the page you were on press on any area of the black background.
Please provide detailed feedback of any issues below.

go in to throttle config and open the theme settings.
for the i900 you need to have it set like this as there is no accelleration.
i have also included the rendering options as i have them also

The first setting i have like you. The second i don`t have. It says no OpenGL ES driver was found. Hardware acceleration is not available.

hmm must be a rom feature you should only need to set the live background then

After having tested the theme since yesterday i found that it has some problems:
Several times when adding new widgets or when running a program from within TL, Throttle Launcher quits and i have to restart it manually. I use TL as standalone, not as today plugin. I verified other themes but it only happens with this one. As further info. i use TL version 1.1.9

I don't know if it is due to the version 1.1.11 that i have installed but now it is stabler and does not quit often.
On the other hand, how do i add shortcuts on the left panel (left arrows on the side of the home icon)? There are shortcuts there but i think they were pulled from the last theme i used, and there is no add button, left and right softkeys are bringing up the config for TL and for the device. In favorites for example there is an add button and there i could add shortcuts without problems.

You mean the start menu? Then something is wrong, as only 5 programs show up on my device. On my ROM the start menu is "Windows/Menú Inicio/Programas", maybe this is the problem? On the other side who knows where the 5 shortcuts came from... they are installed programs, but i have easy above 50 installed programs.

if you browse "Windows/Menú Inicio/Programas" on your device can you see all the .lnk files you would expect to have shortcuts for?
I am working on the principal that menu inicio is start menu here

Yes i see all programs, and for example they show all up in other TL themes.

Another question:
As the facebook and twitter widgets do not work for me i would like to launch facebook.exe and PockeTwit.exe when i tap on the corresponding icon in the tablauncher page. What do i have to change in the xml to make this happen? I tried to modify the config.xml but now only a blank page opens. I also tried to modify the facebook.xml and the twitter.xml, but that also did not work. I am sure i am doing something wrong, but i don't know what. If you point me to what to change i might get it to work.

Elecont Weather 'Spil' the theme

Had a little spare time so converted the Spil icons for Elecont Weather.
Installation:
Must have Elecont Weather installed.
Copy file and paste into Elecont Weather\Themes folder.
Delete Love.zdx file from same folder then go into Elecont Weather, Menu, options and select Icons, Love
Think they look nicer than the standard icons.

And now with new, improved, theme attached
New zip uploaded, hopefully solve minor graphic issues when displaying UV etc
Instructions:
Download zip file.
Change extension to ell (love.ell)
Then as post 1.

thanks for sharing! elecont has been my favorite weather app and i've been looking for nicer weather icons aside from the default ones and found none. glad that you came out with this! your icons look great!

Elecont have just brought out an update.
After installing repeat above procedure.
I did try calling the ell file 'spil' but didn't work. Had to use an existing file.

i used resco explorer and changed the file extension to .ell instead of .zip.

You can also just change the extension on your PC before copying.

i just noticed that the hot sunny icon has white edges. can this be changed? thanks in advance.

We tend not to get to much hot sunny weather in the UK this year

Let me look into it a bit more. I have a few ideas for a compromise solution if I can't work it out.

New zip uploaded. I have just used the standard Elecont red sun for the hot/UV view.
I had a problem with Elecont weather in that it would not allow me to un-install and load latest version. Only thing I could do in the end was hard reset my device (well I wanted to try a new ROM as well).
Have seen another who had same problem on Elecont support so don't think it's anything I did. Will monitor.

Big tile dont change their color!
To update tile just tap on update tile button on weather page, it update lockscreen weather and tile weather)
To replace tile color go to image folder find tiles image and replase it with image from Fireslave theme)
Text overlaps becouse you use another font) Use tahoma and all shoul work fine.
If you change tiles to original please give me a screenshot how it looks

I replaced tile colour to original but it din't work as you might have presumed. The big tiles don't change colour as you said, so it looked nasty! Also, many tiles that are for widgets, din't change colours too! I am working my way around it. If it works, pictures will follow!
I was using Segoe, so that makes sense for weather, I will remove those fonts and try again for weather.
I am using Toshiba TG01 - WVGA - couldn't resolve the issues with 'App Widget'

This error appears becouse you dont have enought ram to load skin! Try to free more ram close all other application! Your free ram?

I know that a some tiles can't change color without restarting i,ll fix this tomorrow!
I like background of my big tile) I spend 5 hours to make it, and if i be able to change big tile color i need too rewrite 20% of theme so sorry i dont have enought time.
For App Widget, i really don't know whi it dont work for you( It work perfect on my device.

Widgets don't have error and tested on my blue angel (qvga) it have 128ram and skin works with lag but it works) Try to cut half widgets from sense ui folder and test it.

tried cleaning ram even compltely formatted my phone your wad 2 version works fine,even throttle launcher version by fireslave works dont know why this not loads up .really want to try this theme

did exactly as instructed but to no avail your ui wad version works fine but this doesnt load and as i said earlir when i rename widgets under Wp 7 v.2 it loads but the home scrren tiles doesnt load while the other function works only the hs stay blank

Try to add for 1 widgets to that folder and you find which widget dont work for you)

in my omnia 2 happens same thing tha happened with fireslave's...the blank box in hub name and descriptions...can i solve this???

I'm sure I know the answer but, do I need HTC Sense installed to use this or do I just need throttlelauncher installed (have it for Fireslave's version) ?
I built a custom rom and removed Sense, I really did like it but I had tons of problems running some apps/games, never mind the memory hit it created.
Edit: Attempted to run it, just hung there, I assume it does need Sense, it would not run on my TP2 without Sense on it, Fireslave's runs great on mine.

UPDATED [wvga] [wad theme] [android - ice cream sandwich]

Hi all,
It's been about 15 months since I last used my Toshiba TG01 but my HTC Desire recently died and I'm back to the world of WM for now.
Anyway,
I used to make the occasional theme for Wisbar Advance Desktop (WAD) and thought I'd have a go at making an Ice Cream Sandwich Android based theme (portrait only) to use. It's fairly simple, but I like it, so I thought I'd share it.
Features:
- 3 Homescreens
- ICS clock widget
- Weather widget
- Calendar widget
- Pull-down notification bar (like android) giving latest SMS info, next appointment info as well as BT and WIFI toggles
To install:
1) extract the contents of the attached .rar archive
2) Install Mortscript
3) Go to \Program Files\Mortscript and tap the yellow mortscript icon
4) Copy the folder 'Message2Reg' to \Program Files
5) Copy the 'Messages' folder to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
6) Install Ice cream sandwich.wadesktop (when asked where to, choose \Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance Desktop\Themes)
To enable theme:
1) Ensure WAD is running
2) Tap and hold screen - choose 'change theme' from popup menu
3) If this theme is not listed, press menu then scan for themes
4) Once this theme is listed, tap it to highlight it, press menu then set as portrait theme
That should be all done.
Optionally, install Winstart to replace the usual WM start menu as I feel it provides a nicer experience and scrolls smoother etc.
Anyway, hope you like the theme.

Hi there,
So I updated the theme a little bit, nothing major.
What's new?
1) Data connection indicator in status bar - grey shows connection available and goes blue when connection is in use (see pic 2). Unfortunately it cannot specify G/E/3G/H etc.
2) Calendar widget. Tap anywhere on the calender to launch the calendar app, tap the arrows to change months.
3) Weather widget. Save the attached medium weather icons wherever you want and go into WAD settings to direct the medium weather icon set to that filepath. Then change WAD settings to whatever location you want weather info for and add a weather icon (medium) size to the same page as the weather widget and drag the icon over the widget.
4) Added next calendar appointment info to pull-down notification bar.
I think that's everything

Have you seen LeSScro's version of ICS for WAD? It's quite nicely done. You might take a look at it if you haven't seen his.

Yeah I tried that, and it's yet another great theme from Lesscro, I just found it to be a bit sluggish and difficult to configure, so I made this to be simpler and quicker and just offer the features that I need

Until...you start filling out all the various requests you'll get from people asking you to do everything including the dishes! Which is what tends to happen. I myself almost never make such requests BUT...if you can get it to empty my 3 cats' kitty litter boxes, I'd be mighty grateful to you! LOL

I totally know what you mean, I made a desire based WAD theme a while ago and there were loads of requests in that thread!!!!!
Fortunately this time, this theme doesn't seem to be as popular so I'll keep sharing any updates I may make, but that's about it

This theme is just great!
I would use it on my i900 (WQVGA 240x400).. but since my phone is so old now... Is there a chance to get this theme on my resolution? Or I could simply adapt it myself, but I don't know how, except for the image files? I quite used wad2 until now, so I don't think it could be that hard.

I don't have a WQVGA device to test it on, so I couldn't really make the theme for your resolution but by all means, feel free to do so yourself
As the resolution is 50% of the size of WVGA, I would have thought that you could probably just take all the image files from the theme, make them 50% smaller then put them back on the phone, overwriting/in place of the original image files. After that it should just be a case of re-positioning everything so the spacing is ok for your screen.
Maybe it's not so simple, I don't really know, but good luck!!

You said "only the features you need." What features would those be? You never did say on page 1 what features you put into it. And, yes, keep sharing the updates.

I actually fixed my HTC Desire yesterday so I don't think there will be any more updates to the theme. If there are, I'll definitely share them, however if anyone wants to take it and use/modify it in any way, that's more than fine - just mention it in credits.

So, it's back to the world of Android for you. Glad you got it fixed. Hate when my phone craps out as it has done a couple of times and only by sheer luck brought it back from a bricked state. Good luck!
