Updated 10/6:
Forcast icons have been added to the first set (thanks Marcdu81). Also, another set, OZB, has been added. This set uses the original icons with Bliss Z Weather Panel backgrounds designed by Zalman.
--------
Here's a new set for the Home Plugin. I added backgrounds to the Original icon set. If you're using the Home Customizer just drop the icon folder into the HHC weather folder.
One note, if your city has a long name part of it will be blocked since the background is not transparent. It shouldn't be a problem if you know where you live. If it bothers you, you can always use the customizer to change the city name to something else like I did.

You don't need the customizer. Just drop the files in the HTCHome folder on your device. By doing this you will overwrite the original weather icons.

lol funny one eh! I wish I had more time in my hand i would probably do it. What I can attempt to do is a slideshow panel, that's an easy one. tell it the target directory, refresh time and voila, although there aren't any fancy transitions available for titanium but it is very very possible. I'll see what I can do, maybe the slideshow as an addition to CAnalogClock would be nice.

Let's be intopic here and post that screenshot at the plugin thread. It should be no problem fixing it for you, if you can already see something Everything in that plugin can be scaled and shifted around in the .cpr file Now: post it!

CREDITS:
zach.xtr for his awesome xtrROM
.mak for the Espresso lock screen PNGs pulled from zenEXP
Android SDK (source of vanilla PNG files)
*All PNGs were optimized after pulling them from source*
This guide will give an even more vanilla look to xtrROM for those who like the orange highlights and white notification bar. Additionally, I have included the Espresso lockscreen (refer to screenshot) in a modified com.htc.resources.apk file. The lockscreen will still remain transparent, I just chose to use a wallpaper, so the screenshot doesn't show the transparent one. Most everything will have the highlights changed to the stock orange color, save a few things in the HTC-specific apps.
Before you do anything, make a NAND backup and/or make a backup of the files being pushed in this tutorial before pushing the ones I have provided. I have not tested this on another phone, as I only have the one that I performed this mod on, but I can't think of a reason it shouldn't work on another phone.
This was performed with xtrROM v 4.5.2. This may not work on previous versions.
Perform the following steps using ADB:
1. Push framework-res.apk, services.jar, and com.htc.resources.apk as follows:
Code:
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb push services.jar /system/framework/services.jar
adb push com.htc.resources.apk /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk
NOTE: You *MUST* push the services.jar file if you want the clock to appear black on the white notification bar. Otherwise, it will remain white against a white background. Not very appealing, imo.
2. Your phone will soft reboot - this is normal. If you want, you can just force a hard reboot with:
Code:
adb reboot
YOUR PHONE MAY TAKE A LONG TIME TO BOOT. THIS IS NORMAL. If it takes an exorbitant amount of time (say 7 - 10 mins.), then it's probably safe to call it a failure. As long as your boot animation hasn't restarted or frozen, don't give up hope.
As pointed out by adrenalinerush12 and jadesdan, you must push com.htc.resources.apk if you want all the notification bar icons to appear white, since the stock HTC file overrides them in framework-res.apk. This means you will also get the Espresso lock screen (which, in my personal opinion, is the best-looking lock screen), but if somebody REALLY likes the boring grey "boomerang" bar, I suppose I can cook one up. Let me know.
com.htc.resources.apk Download:
HTML:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IYU0T72P
framework-res.apk Download: Link down - file uploaded to this thread below.
services.jar Download: Link down - file uploaded to this thread below. VERY IMPORTANT: the file is named services.zip at the bottom because XDA doesn't let me upload .jar files , SO make sure to rename it to "services.jar" BEFORE you push the file to your phone.
The reason why I installed 2.1 is so I can have Sense with a black notification bar. Oh well, some people might actually like this. Nice work!
This looks awsome! I love the XTR roms but couldn't stand the black bar.....
The framework and services.jar links are down
EDIT: I should have read the word "temporarily" a little closer.

Yeah, you're right, they are down. Damn you, Megaupload!!! I think those two files might be under the XDA 8 MB limit...I'll try and upload them directly.
EDIT: OK, framework-res.apk and services.jar (as services.zip) are uploaded directly to XDA for your downloading pleasure. I don't know what Megaupload's problem is right now. Make sure to rename "services.zip" to "services.jar" - I made a little note of it near the bottom of my OP.
That's odd, because it wasn't down for me. It let me download them just a few minutes ago.

Yeah, I don't know why Megaupload does that. I've had it happen a few times before, and it's never consistent. Anyway, let me know how it works out for you. I haven't officially heard whether it has worked for anybody, so I'm excited to hear back!
Okay, when I pushed both framework-res.apk and services.jar, this is what I get:
Don't know what the issue is, but I pushed it twice to make sure. Still does the same thing.
I've tried both with the MegaUpload files and also the ones linked here, but this is what I get. I've even tried wiping Dalvik and all, but this is the best I can do. You can tell that it's taking, but I think there might be some icons missing.

Hmmm, actually now I remember that some of the PNGs in framework-res.apk are overridden in the com.htc.resources.apk. I didn't think it was so many, though. Try pushing the com.htc.resources.apk, too. If you don't want the espresso lock screen, I can always change it for you later, but I just want to see if that fixes the notification bar icons.
Yup. That fixed it! I actually deleted HtcLockScreen.apk because I like the stock horizontal slide one anyways. Thanks a bunch man.

No problem, but it seems that the notification bar clear button is black.. and so is the text, which makes it difficult to read. Not a huge deal, but. And icons such as a new text message with the stock app are still messed up looking. (With black as the background).

Download and push the new services.jar (services.zip at the bottom of the thread) to fix the black "clear" button. I actually just fixed that last night - took a lot of fishing around to find out how to do it. I know the stock htc apps still have their original look in the noti bar - I didn't want to take the time to change them. Haha, maybe in the future.
Oh, and when my 3G icon changes to 1X to send a text, it goes back to the black icon. Then changes right back to the right 3G one.
i am trying to apply this to xtrSENSE. i've got the white bar working, but the services.jar part is doing nothing. do i have to extract anything or just simply rename it? i have renamed it, but it says not found or something to that effect. i do understand that this may not work due to the fact that this is slightly different than xtrROM with rosie and whatnot.

Cool, so framework-res.apk pushed successfully. You shouldn't extract anything from services.zip, just rename it to services.jar and push it. There are modifications to the smali code in services.jar, rather than just swapping out PNGs, so it's somewhat likely that it won't work. It's very picky - one thing out of place, and it doesn't boot. I've learned that the hard way.
May I ask what you are using for the Sense like clock/weather and the icons? They are pretty cool.

For sure. The clock/weather widget is called "Fancy Widget". It's no longer on the market because the developers received a cease and desist order from HTC (can't imagine why ). Anyway, just google "fancy widget 1.3.0", and I guarantee you'll find it. I wouldn't have a problem uploading it, but some people might take issue since it's now a black market item. Whatev.
By the icons, do you mean the widgets that I have under the weather/clock widget? Those are all by curvefish and free in the market. Just search "curvefish". And if you're referring to the smiley face messaging icon I have, it's because I found a modified vanilla mms apk on a forum (can't stand HTC's slow as hell excuse for a text messaging program). Since that's open source, I've attached it to the post if you want it. Just be sure to delete HTC's mms, or you'll get some weird behavior.

Great, thank you for the information. I have heard of Fancy Widgets, just never used it. I have purchased Beautiful Widgets and used it a little bit. I have searched for a theme that resembles the Sense one but have not found it yet.
I am currently using xtrSENSE so I have the Sense UI. Once Zach updates xtrROM I am going to install that and go back to launcher pro and beautiful widgets for my homescreen.
Browsing through the 4pda.ru forum i found a nice optimus weather and clock for S2U2 posted by JambazZi and decided to use it on my device. Sadly, weather widgets were not numbered correctly and they were a bit too stretched with a distorted appearance, so i thought i'd make one of my own straight from the original optimus widgets and share it with you guys. After applying the files to gfx folder, set clock alignment to the left, choose option 1 time format and set today's weather forecast to Touch Flo 3D. Lang file provided in the folder contains the modification to DefaultTimeFormat1, needed for the clock to be aligned with the weather widget. I named the clock clockD but you can replace any clock you want or add it as a new clock as long as you modify the lang.ini file. Remember to save file in UNICODE when modifying the lang file and don't save it as text, but "all files" option. Thanks to 4pda.ru & xda-developers member Yurik , who provided me with the original optimus widgets. You can use any wallpaper you like, weather widgets' canvas is transparent. Here's a few screenshots, if you like my work, just hit the thanks button
P.S. Please backup your weather, lang.ini file and clock if you are replacing one of your previous clocks, in order to get back to your initial settings if something goes wrong. Safest way is to edit your personal lang.ini file to have this line, instead of using my lang.ini file, cause you might have different settings for slider, text, etc: s_DefaultTimeFormat1=______':'HH__':'mm
Thanks to torickray who modified the weather icons you can now use it with IPTweather too. Just download his weather files from here
Thanks to bismuth89 for providing (w)qvga version. Download qvga files from here and wqvga from here

Did u set the time format to option 1 and choose clock font folder clockD ? Clock alignment must be set to left. Are you using Touch Flo 3D ? Did you update weather in Touch Flo ? Make sure you actually replaced the files and not just adding mine and leaving the originals there. Delete the original weather folder and the original clockD folder and then copy mine in the gfx folder. Also delete the lang settings and then copy mine. Make a backup of your files first, in case you want to get back to your settings.

Unfortunately i only own a Blackstone which is WVGA, but JambazZi from 4pda.ru has a wqvga version, you can use his and see if it works well on your device. Here are the files. The lang file is in russian, but you can modify your lang file, instead of using his. All you need to do is modify DefaultTimeFormat1 to the one in his file and add a new clock to option 6 called optimus, i think his clock is called optimus. Or just rename clock to one of the already existing clocks clock/, clockD, clockS, whatever. Hope that helps. His WVGA didn't work for me. If it was shiny outside, i got a windy widget. Maybe his wgvga version is numbered correctly. Try it and let me know, if icons are not numbered correctly you might need to rename them to suit the actual weather outside.
P.S. @ mad_a_22 : read your private message on the forum.

Is your phone WVGA ? Post a screenshot please. You might need to resize the weather icons to fit the screen. The weather is designed to be used with Touch Flo 3D, guess it might work with other weather tools as long as it is scaled correctly. What weather program are you using ?
Yes, WVGA - OmniaII. I'm using IPTweather, mort scripts to modify registry. Maybe you have right, that modification of icons are needed.
I haven't used any third party weather application in S2U2. Send me a link to the icon pack you used before and a screenshot to see where exactly they were positioned, i might be able to edit the optimus icons to appear correctly for your IPTweather tool.

It's hard for me to guess the exact size of the icons used by other weather applications and where exactly they appear on your screen, since i only used HTC default weather i made the icons to fit to the weather provided by the TouchFlo. You should try and crop or enlarge the icons' canvas in order for the clock to appear in the white panels.

Yes, WVGA - OmniaII. I'm using IPTweather, mort scripts to modify registry. Maybe you have right, that modification of icons are needed.

P.S. @ mad_a_22 : read your private message on the forum.

thanx for all but i couldn't make it work....
ahhh, it's beautiful! weather images look great on HD2, thank you, Sp1tfire! but there's one problem with time, digits are moved to the left more then they have to be. check it out on the screenshot. I've made everything in settings according to the first post. how can I fix this?

Time format should look like in the screenshot below and lang file must contain this line:
s_DefaultTimeFormat1=______':'HH__':'mm
Sp1tfire,
yes, that was the problem.. thank you. I've copied lang.ini to gfx folder together with clock and weather images.. such a shame..
but now something new appeared, see the screen, please. It's concerning lang.ini, as far as I understand, but I haven't backuped the old one to correct yours.

Hmm, i don't use the text in these 2 lines in my lang file.
s_CS2UText=
s_S2UText=
Mine it's blank. Probably original S2U2 text was "slide to unlock" for s_S2UText and "unlock" for s_CS2UText (without quotation marks)
typed "unlock", made some settings changes, now everything is on it's places , looks perfect! you ROCK! thanx!
Hi all,
It's been about 15 months since I last used my Toshiba TG01 but my HTC Desire recently died and I'm back to the world of WM for now.
Anyway,
I used to make the occasional theme for Wisbar Advance Desktop (WAD) and thought I'd have a go at making an Ice Cream Sandwich Android based theme (portrait only) to use. It's fairly simple, but I like it, so I thought I'd share it.
Features:
- 3 Homescreens
- ICS clock widget
- Weather widget
- Calendar widget
- Pull-down notification bar (like android) giving latest SMS info, next appointment info as well as BT and WIFI toggles
To install:
1) extract the contents of the attached .rar archive
2) Install Mortscript
3) Go to \Program Files\Mortscript and tap the yellow mortscript icon
4) Copy the folder 'Message2Reg' to \Program Files
5) Copy the 'Messages' folder to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
6) Install Ice cream sandwich.wadesktop (when asked where to, choose \Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance Desktop\Themes)
To enable theme:
1) Ensure WAD is running
2) Tap and hold screen - choose 'change theme' from popup menu
3) If this theme is not listed, press menu then scan for themes
4) Once this theme is listed, tap it to highlight it, press menu then set as portrait theme
That should be all done.
Optionally, install Winstart to replace the usual WM start menu as I feel it provides a nicer experience and scrolls smoother etc.
Anyway, hope you like the theme.
Regards

It certainly is.
It's available from plenty of places, but the developers website is here:

Hi there,
So I updated the theme a little bit, nothing major.
What's new?
1) Data connection indicator in status bar - grey shows connection available and goes blue when connection is in use (see pic 2). Unfortunately it cannot specify G/E/3G/H etc.
2) Calendar widget. Tap anywhere on the calender to launch the calendar app, tap the arrows to change months.
3) Weather widget. Save the attached medium weather icons wherever you want and go into WAD settings to direct the medium weather icon set to that filepath. Then change WAD settings to whatever location you want weather info for and add a weather icon (medium) size to the same page as the weather widget and drag the icon over the widget.
4) Added next calendar appointment info to pull-down notification bar.
I think that's everything

Quick info for masrterk; If you are looking for someone who can do magic with SPB MS is MR.Skippen but I think he is out of the game. You should even try.
Have you seen LeSScro's version of ICS for WAD? It's quite nicely done. You might take a look at it if you haven't seen his.

Yeah I tried that, and it's yet another great theme from Lesscro, I just found it to be a bit sluggish and difficult to configure, so I made this to be simpler and quicker and just offer the features that I need

Until...you start filling out all the various requests you'll get from people asking you to do everything including the dishes! Which is what tends to happen. I myself almost never make such requests BUT...if you can get it to empty my 3 cats' kitty litter boxes, I'd be mighty grateful to you! LOL

I totally know what you mean, I made a desire based WAD theme a while ago and there were loads of requests in that thread!!!!!
Fortunately this time, this theme doesn't seem to be as popular so I'll keep sharing any updates I may make, but that's about it
This theme is just great!
I would use it on my i900 (WQVGA 240x400).. but since my phone is so old now... Is there a chance to get this theme on my resolution? Or I could simply adapt it myself, but I don't know how, except for the image files? I quite used wad2 until now, so I don't think it could be that hard.
Thanks!

I don't have a WQVGA device to test it on, so I couldn't really make the theme for your resolution but by all means, feel free to do so yourself
As the resolution is 50% of the size of WVGA, I would have thought that you could probably just take all the image files from the theme, make them 50% smaller then put them back on the phone, overwriting/in place of the original image files. After that it should just be a case of re-positioning everything so the spacing is ok for your screen.
Maybe it's not so simple, I don't really know, but good luck!!

You said "only the features you need." What features would those be? You never did say on page 1 what features you put into it. And, yes, keep sharing the updates.

Good point!!
OP updated....
I actually fixed my HTC Desire yesterday so I don't think there will be any more updates to the theme. If there are, I'll definitely share them, however if anyone wants to take it and use/modify it in any way, that's more than fine - just mention it in credits.

So, it's back to the world of Android for you. Glad you got it fixed. Hate when my phone craps out as it has done a couple of times and only by sheer luck brought it back from a bricked state. Good luck!
Nice to see a " WAD bro' "...
Once again, you provide a different vision of ICS...
Nice one... Good Job !
