Can somebody test it on s730? Share your exprerience! Seems to me that it could bring more free RAM, more battery life, speedy reaction
Many new features, f.e.:
* smartphones support
* new black skin
* battery saving
* bluetooth switching on/off during call (also battery saving)
* speed increasing
http://pointui.com
Works well..sometimes a little bit slowly.
I'd locked my S730 by this tool.
Can anyone tell me how to unlock this?
New Features:
Lock screen can now be used on smartphones - you press up then down on dpad.
Yea, I have been using this SW for some hours and i love it!
Has some minor bugs. I cannot keylock the unit as ususal.
Then the home program shuts down. So I have to use the keylock that is built inn to this SW..
But now that I am used to this, it is actually better that the standard.
It also bugs up some times when using Comm Manager, I have not yet figured out when exactly this problem accures,
but Home then sometimes shuts down, and I have to restart the program..
But other than that its perfect. Fast, smooth fading menues, and looks great!

Thanks for your opinion, this SW little bit change the behavior of the HW, but according the programmer´s goal. The previous member contribution is typical, people does not like to read the manuals, sometimes problem is not problem it is a purpose how to use the HW effectively and users are lazy to read the changelogs .

I know what you mean
A little "Tip" if anyone wants to try this program on the S730.
I had to change the HTC Home settings "Time Out" to Never. Or else the it would go back to the original HTC Home after
10 minutes. (Depending on the settings)
Looks nice but too limited for my liking just yet.
Like, I want to be able to see the time AND appointments on the home screen, without having to scroll.
It should have more user-definable input, without having to get out a registry editor. It also needs some work to make it suitable for smartphones, like being able to add stuff to the icon bar on the home screen. Also, the application bar only shows icons in the Start Menu/Programs folder by default. I couldn't see any options to change it, or even a button to move back up the directory tree to where my icons actually are.
A working uninstall procedure would be good too!!
I agree with the mad ferret.
the customization is missing. for example where is the option to create a "favorite apps list"?
i really like its fast responsiveness!!! i wish windows mobile could develop something like that as native windows mobile software. so smooth and with such neat design. why cant they? are they ****ing retarded? instead we get slow menues and ugly lists like on phones of 1998. cant windows work with people wh o can create such amazing software and integrate it natively? cant they develop something like this themselfes? WTF
anyway, pointui is a very amazing piece of software. however, whenever i press "running programs" it freezes.... the update function doesnt work.
i prefer smarttoolkit!!
http://smarttoolkit.softonic.de/windowsmobile
Everything that's supposed to work with PointUI, works for me on my HTC S710/Vox. I do hope for more features and I am sure the developers are hard at work, but what it is now - it can only get better since it's amazing. I hope for it to run at system level, apart from that it's superb so far!
I've been using it for about a week now. I love the clean look, but I'm having one major issue. My number keys and my green key do nothing so I can't call any number that is not in my contacts without going back to the WM Home screen.
Anyone else have this problem? Or better yet, know how I can fix it?
But, yeah other than that I really like pointui. Hopefully the next release comes soon.
I have a question. Is It possible for someone to make a program that will automaticaly switch the today screen programs that are displayed. Sort of a Work set up and an enertainment or night setup.
during the day I have a big clock and the Today Adgenda that takes up my whole screen for work. I have other today screen programs and wall papers installed, but I have to manualy change the setup back to what i need everyday for work. There are great today screen wallpapers and apps. and I JUST WANT to be able to use some of them..
AM i Being vain and just wanting a flashy Today screen? Hell Yes
I did search and all I could find is a theme and wall paper switcher and the ringer program
Thanks for looking
That idea is so good that i´m sure someone has been thinkin´of it.
Maybe some of those autoprofile progs can do that.
Good idea! Anyone?

Is it possible to customize HTC home that comes with WM6.1 for the Tilt upgrade that was just released? I have it installed and I like it, for the most part. However, I would really like to change the favorite contacts and the items in the launcher. However, when I hold my stylus on one of the contacts I don't want to see, it just starts dialing.
Is there a manual for the new software that I missed somewhere?

don't hold your stylus on one of the programs/contact you don't want to see, just click the last program/contact in the section, which should be an X
And this is why I need to play more than I did... Are there any other tweaks for the HTC Home? personally, I'm not liking the amount of real estate it takes on the screen... 2/3 of it in portrait and all but 1-2 lines in landscape is a little much.
I like the functionality of it, but would really like to find ways to make it look better/different if that is possible.

Nope. Its pretty much fixed size. You can get emunutz's HTC Home Customiser to chage the clock font, icons etc. But as for size... its fixed. The only way is to recreate something similar using apps/plugins like batterystatus

Yerp, Use emunutz HTC home customiser and take it off the active tabs list.
I was wondering if it was possible for anyone to make a dialer to replace the existing one that looks like the Dial Home Device seen on the television show Stargate SG-1. I noticed that there is an iPhone app and was hoping that maybe someone could make one, since I haven't the clue as to how they are made. Any responses are appreciated. Thanks.
Can you get a picture? It may just be a matter of skinning the default dialer.
Obviously the number of symbols is > 0-9 on a regular number pad. I could be cool, but I don't know if it is possible software wise. If someone knows it's physically possible, PM me and I could contribute some art. I would just need the specs because I've only made icons for the g1.
Here are the pictures
This is the one from the iPhone. The first one is when you're dialing. The second one is when you press send to connect the call and is active. The stargate in the backround has the wormhole active. I don't expect the background to do that like it does on the iPhone, but if it was somehow possible, that would be awesome. Hope this helps. Thanks once again.

This sounds like a great idea..
Looks nice, but seems a little crowded to place all the numbers side by side like that, but maybe it will work.
I only mention it because I sometimes mis-dial with the current keypad, which only has 3 numbers across.

I haven't had that problem with the dialer. I have with text messaging. But i don't think the numbers will be smaller than the letters on the soft keyboard. I would be fine with that. I just want something different from what most have. And I love stargate and when I saw that I just had to have it, but I don't have a clue how to do it, so that's why I ask for help
So...
Does anyone even know if something like this would be close to possible?
Yeah something like this is possible, I bet it would take a while to render the wormhole unless it used the openGL api. You just have to find a dev willing to put in the time for it. Maybe you can ask a dev in the marketplace that already does custom stuff with the dialer (ben or dan, MGeek, ZacCom)

Thanks everyone I appreciate all the help. I will see where I can go from here.
Tools needed?
Ive been looking at this idea too.
Basically, as having the phone make chevron dialing noises is mostly for the novelty of watching people around you giving you weird looks, im going to see if some of the 'simpler' programming tools programs for WM/Android (as a friend has a Dream) to chuck togheter a "select person, then just make dialing sounds" (simple-er) or a "select person, then highlight in an order a bunch of chevrons to hit based on a person name -> numbers formula" (interactive)
I dont really mind having a complex dialing tool, only something that makes it look like you are hitting a whole bunch of chevrons and sounds, with the end result being someone dialed.
I'll have a screwaround in the not so distant future and see what rubbish i spit out; if it turns into anything usable i guess extra complexity can be added.
Dear Chefs,
thank you for all great work you have done so far!
I use the Energy ROM for about two months and I'm stunned about all the great features he provide.
However, there is one thing I can't stand: The lack of appointment- and task snoozing other then 5 minutes. This makes the remind function almost useless.
My German t-mobile branded TP2 (called: MDA Vario V) came with the option to snooze appointments and tasks by a selectable time. So I could choose remind me in one or half Hour for example or one day and many other options, rather than dismiss it over and over again every 5 minutes. This is really bugging me.
I found a fix from crackwhore but it seems to be not compatible with the current windows mobile 6.5 ROMs.
Because it is so important to me and, as I noticed, to many, many others I want to post a reward and invite everybody who want this feature to join me by posting how much you are willing to donate to the person who find a solution and share it with the community
A proper solution would be a fix that works for the latest generation of WM6.5 ROMs and it would be great to have it already cooked into the popular ROMs, including Energy ROM.
So if somebody finds a solution, everybody who joined me is asked to donate the promised amount to the person who provided the solution.
I start off with a offer of 10$
Feel free to join me and make suggestion.
And please be true to your word: Don't offer something you are not willing to donate.
Current Offers (25.10.2009 01:25 UTC):
10 US-$
and
0 €
Why dont you ditch MS with another commercial application in the market? Couldn't you able to find one? I dont remember it but there was a program like this. Google it I suggest.
You can set the "reminder" time as any minutes/hours/days when you add an appointment. Am I missing something here?
NVM, I solved it! I was able to replace the new Notification.dll that handles the notification bubbles with an old, stock one. See the next post for the solution I made!
Question
Did your stock German ROM have the notification manager, where you'd click the taskbar, and it brings up that full screen? And also, did it have the skinned notifications, like the EnergyROM does? Please just describe exactly how the stock ROM handled the notifications, describe it visually.
Information
I researched this for 5 hours, and I was trying to do this: I wanted to make the Notification Panel remain (Full screen when you click on Taskbar), BUT, I wanted to use the standard Windows Mobile notification popups, because those allow you to snooze better. Well, that's not possible, from what I could tell. It's either all or nothing, you can't mix Microsoft's and HTC's notification system.
Solution
So, you have to disable the entire thing, which means you won't have the finger friendly notification system when tapping on the top taskbar. You can find the registry to disable Notification Manager here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4125405&postcount=3
Advanced Notifications Power Snooze Appointments!
I solved it!! It's CABbed up, and available on my website, Wingster.
Get your solution here: http://thewingster.com/advancednotifications.aspx
And if you want to donate, then follow the link on the bottom of my Wingster website, or use this link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=5401195
Maybe I should have waited longer, for the bounty to increase! Nah, I did this mostly for myself, but it did end up taking 5 hours! I hate registries!
How I Created It
I found the old NotificationLayout.dll, and used that one for handling the notification bubbles! This brings back the old WinMo notification style popups, but it also keeps the finger friendly notification panel! Win-win!
Imagine how fast the world is, I wish you could solve my break off with GF such a fast.
Have Fun, Cheers
Sunny
the solution that brings the old popups up, has been around since my touch x 6.0 and that is since december last year...
well well well......
Awesome. I had used the crackwhore one and it worked but this is better

FYI, crackwhore's is a better solution it doesn't eliminate the repeat function so what happens you get the alarm one time which was just as big a concern that I've had with some of the ROMs.

Lol dam. Wasted that effort for nothin? lol. Well we can add mine to the collection of CABs that do the exact same thing as the other
Hi,
sorry for the delay, but university was keeping me extremely busy this week.
However I'm glad you found a solution. It's so unimaginably convenient to be able to snooze the alarm!
However would it be possible to add some options? There is still room on the display for one option isn't it?
Very handy would be having options like four and twelve hours (half day).
I would rather surrender 10 minutes while already having 5 and 15 minutes.
(or maybe better: surrender 15 minutes while keeping 10)
However the current stage of development is already great and of cause I will stand my word of donating 10 bucks.
I invite everybody who like this fix to also support him since he was fair enough of not "waiting" for the bounty to increase first and he's doing a great job with his website anyway.
Best Regards, Time
PS: You are talking about other - already existing - solutions? I only found crackwhores fix and didn't get it to work. Well now I have a great one-click-solution I won't surrender ... would be just interesting to know.

Yea, flash the stock German ROM, and see how that operates. It'd be very interesting if they kept the advanced snooze options while keeping the slick notification style too.
I think that editing the DLL's is impossible though, but I guess it'd be worth a try. My initial goal was to keep the skinned notifications but add the snoozing. That'd be the optimal goal, and I will try to see if that can be done!

Well.....
First, download This File, unzip it, and place the DLL in the \Windows directory of your phone.
Now, here's where it may be different, apparently. Using a registry editor (like PHM Registry), try to find the string that is called CustomUIDLL and contains NotificationLayout.dll.
That string key should be located under HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM, however since the CAB didn't work, Valkyrie must have changed the location of the registry key. See if you can find it. Once you do, change the string value to: "NotificationLayoutOld.dll"
Hopefully that'll get it working!

OK.
Under HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM i have one folder named "reminder" and 3 other items named "default", " customUIDLL", and "userdefaultUI"
if i click on customUIDLL the string already reads "NotificationLayoutOld.dll" ( iguess from when I applied the .cab file) so there is nothing to change!
Also here is a screenshot of the contents in the HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM/reminder folder that I mentioned above
should i be editing the autodismissextendedduration file?
BTW I forgot to mention that when i install the cab file instead of "snooze' at the bottom bar I get the "menu' on the right and also another symbol on the left (like a phone with an 'x' next to it" but if i click on any of them the notification goes away and does not come back
So in essence the .cab works (because it points it to something else) but the location it point to, doesnt contain the necessary file to show up when you click on the the "menu' icon or the other icon that comes up SORRY I DIDNT MENTION THAT EARLIER BUT I WASNT AWARE OF IT TILL NOW.....
